Fallingstar22-Thanks =) Glad you liked those scenes. Don't worry Dillon will be fine and have the water gotten out of him soon. Thanks for reading.
Kekejo99-Happy you enjoyed it, thanks for reading!
Son of Whitebeard-In regards to your question in seeing the Netherworld/Underworld, probably not. If I start up a fanfic set in the Samurai universe or do a sequel to this where the RPM Rangers visit that universe for some reason, than maybe. Thanks for reading.
Craftygirl11-I plan to, it's just RL has hit me for real hard recently. Thanks for reading, and I will try to update more frequently J
AN: Everyone I like to say again, thanks for reading. Power Rangers does not belong to me, it belongs to Saban.
Chapter 12: The Way Back Home
By Screech04
(The Garage)
"There's been a twenty percent increase of the toxins in Ranger Black." Dr. K reported to her team and the Samurai Rangers. Summer couldn't help but roll her eyes at Dr. K's continued denial that mythical evil water actually existed.
"What happens when it fully overtakes him?" She turned to the others for answers.
"Like I said, there are no records of what happens when Sanzu River water is taken in by a person. It could corrupt him, it could kill him…" Kevin paused before continuing. "It could turn him into a Nighlok."
"Thanks for the notice Colonel." Flynn got off from his connection to Colonel Truman on his morpher and walked over to the others, "That was Scott's father. He said there are more cases of men, women, and kids getting incredibly sick. All with the same causes of that toxic water. Three already confirmed dead, the medical center be having one hell of a day with them."
"So there's no cure?" Ziggy asked, his face had taken a saddened turn when mentioned the kids also getting sick.
"Wait you guys." Emily stood up and turned to Antonio, "Didn't Jayden tell us he was poisoned and that by being submerged in a freshwater river it purged the poison out of him?"
"That's right, but that was different from Sanzu River water." He replied back.
"What if we did the same for their friend?" She piped up back to him.
"Ems, I don't think simple ordinary water is going to cure him." Mike added in, feeling bad when he saw her disappointed face.
"Guys Emily may have a point. Kevin your symbol power is water, you can create fresh water and Antonio your symbol power is light. You can combine your symbol powers to purge out the river water." Mia jumped in.
"One problem though Mia. We've never tried this before. If Antonio adds too little of his symbol power than it won't matter, too much and it might destroy him." Kevin shook his head.
"Only one way to find out." Antonio stood up, "We're going to need a bucket." The two Samurai Rangers stood side by side in front of a white industrial plastic bucket in front of them.
"Symbol power." Kevin called out as he pulled out his Samuraizer and drew his symbol as a steady stream of water emanated out of it and poured into the bucket, stopping it when a significant amount was poured into the bucket. Antonio pulled out his morpher and texted in his symbol power, a hologram of his symbol hovered over his morpher as a stream of light came out from the device and spread all across the filled bucket of water.
"There, should be enough." Antonio gasped as he stopped the stream of light that was pouring into the bucket. Due to his self-training and not having the formal training the other Samurai had, using symbol power was more draining to him than the others.
"This seems highly illogical…" Dr. K started then stopped when everyone looked at her, expecting her to doubt them. "…but it is the only way that could work."
"Usually I'm not one to break up the mood." Mike spoke up while Kevin only rolled his eyes. "But how are we going to get back home anyway?"
"Mike's right. Jayden could be in real trouble right now." Mia piped in her agreement. Dr. K looked down as if pondering the question then looked up at the rest of the group.
"I'm not sure, I'm still trying to answer that particular problem myself."
"Can't we just do the same thing Scott did to get in their dimension?" Flynn asked.
"Logical reasoning, but the risk is too great for it." Dr. K shot back.
"Why not?" Summer asked.
"When Scott pursued that Venjix attack bot across dimensions, it was merely by coincidence that he ended up in the same dimension that it did. It wasn't planned or thought out and that makes the risk too great."
"Aye but he took it on a leap of faith alone, that's got to mean something. If we tried…" Flynn replied.
"If we tried of what you are suggesting, by taking this 'leap of faith' so to speak. The results could be disastrous. We could end up sending them to a different dimension that is not theirs. That is no guarantee or proven conclusive evidence that blind faith alone will make this work." Dr. K tried to reason.
"Well we have no choice, we have to try something." Ziggy put in his two cents.
"Very well since we have been going off this 'blind faith' alone so far with the water, I see no better alternative than the portal device at the dumping ground." Dr. K sighed.
"Great, I'll see if this works." Summer answered the thoughts of the others of whether or not to test the water on Dillon.
She stood up and grabbed a paper cup and walked over to the bucket and filled it with the water that Kevin and Antonio created and walked into the lab where Dillon was. The heart monitor kept up the same repetitive beat the noises coming from the oxygen tank indicated that it was doing its job. She almost wanted to look away as his skin had taken an even darker red tone while the red lightning lines that stretched across him now was a pure black hue. She carefully took the oxygen mask off of his face and could now hear the ragged breathing coming in more clearly. Placing one hand on the back of his head, she helped eased him up.
"Drink this, it might help." Summer placed the edge of the cup to his lips and watched as he took in a small drink from the cup. She could tell that Dillon was making the effort as she heard him make struggling noises before the sound of him swallowing the water came to her ears. "That's good Dillon, okay one more time." She brought the cup up again and had him take another drink before letting him relax back and placed the cup on the table next to him.
Time to be at a standstill before any change could be determined. Dillon's skin tone was starting to return to it's normal color while the black lines across him slowly changed back into the red tint they were before. Summer smiled as it seemed that the water enhanced by the symbol power of light was working in curing him.
"Summer?" Dillon called out weakly as his eyes opened up however his breathing was still pretty rough.
"I'm here." She replied back as she brushed hair out from the front of his face. "Looks like you're feeling better."
"How long was I out?" He asked in a raspy voice.
"A few hours at most." She sighed then brought herself up to tell him of what would happen next, "We're heading out to the mountain range in trying to get these guys home." She started then stopped when she saw Dillon tried to sit up, "No, you stay here and rest. We'll be fine." She smiled as placed the cup onto the table stand next to the examination chair he was resting on. "There's more water out there in a bucket, drink it. It will help."
"Right." He said softly as he took another small drink from the cup before sitting back with a groan. Summer waited to hear his soft breathing before turning back into the main area of the Garage where the others were waiting.
"What are we waiting for let's go." Dr. K stated.
"Right, but first we need to make a stop." Summer chipped in.
(Corinth Medical Center)
"And you want me to believe that this 'water' can help those sick civilians?" Colonel Truman asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Believe me Colonel, I hardly think this logical myself. But we are running out of time and answers. Plus these new arrivals could be the only way in bringing your son back home. Truman seemed to think about it for a moment before nodding and turned to Corporal Hicks.
"Hicks, Gather any container, bucket, cooler, gallon you can find." He ordered.
"Yes sir, but for what reason if I may ask?" Hicks returned.
"For water." Truman replied back.
"Water sir?" Hicks inquired, skeptical as if he heard the Colonel right.
"Did I stutter Corporal, yes I said for water."
"Right away sir." Hicks saluted while Kevin and Antonio stepped forward, the two nodded to each other before prepping themselves to use their symbol powers again.
(Venjix Palace)
"I see you're back from you're little excursion." Kilobyte observed as he noticed Serrator return to the main chamber of the palace where everyone else was.
"Yes and I dealt with one of your Rangers along with an increasing handful of the city's population as well. As I speak they are suffering from the corruptive water of the mighty Sanzu River. All of them are very sick and there is no cure." Serrator replied back with glee.
"Which one?" Kilobyte inquired.
"I believe he was the black colored one." Serrator held a hand to his chin as if he was in thought.
"So the Black Ranger is sick from this poisonous water. What a way to go." Kilobyte turned to gauge Tenaya's reaction of the news that her brother was going to die from this poisonous water.
"So what? One of the Rangers is down, there are still six others along with the ones from the other dimension to deal with." She stated in trying to show she didn't really care.
"Tenaya 7 is right." Venjix boomed as he stepped into the center of the room, "My scouts inside of the city have reported that the Rangers are returning to the dumping ground."
"They could be trying to return those other Rangers back to their dimension." Shifter put in.
"That can not happen, they must be stopped before that happens." Venjix returned back.
"If I may Master Venjix, might I bring in some of my own creations to handle the situation." Venjix brought four sheets of paper and stacked evenly before cutting into each of them with his scissor claws. He tossed the cut sheets into the air and snapped his fingers. The four sheets transformed into armored humanoid figures with black capes, "May I present the Papyrox, my own creation. The Samurai Rangers have had many troubles with just one of them and I think that an advantage will be had on our side as your Rangers have never encountered them."
"Very good. Your creations will go to the dumping ground to stop them. The Rangers will be destroyed once and for all." Venjix declared. Serrator bowed then turned and walked out of the main chamber.
(Sulfred Mountain Range)
Three vehicles raced along with the road leading up to the Alphabet Soup dumping ground. Scott's Racer, Flynn's hummer, and Summer's bike sped along carrying the occupants when huge fiery explosions popped in front of them forcing them to stop.
"What was that?" Flynn asked as he was the first to jump out of the vehicles, followed by the others. There was huge roars as skull-like, eyeless creatures with crocodile like heads appeared out from the trees roaring their might.
"Spitfangs." Kevin pointed out as one of the Nighlok creatures opened its maw and fired a fireball in their direction. They rangers rolled out of the way as the projectile flew past them obliterating an unfortunate tree.
"And they're not alone." Emily added as Moogers and Grinders joined in along with the Spitfangs in slowly advancing on the two Ranger teams.
"We don't have time for this, ready?" Summer retorted as she held up her morpher.
"Ready! RPM, Get In Gear! Samuraizer, Go Go Samurai! Samurai Morpher, Gold Power!" They all replied in response and morphed into their respective forms.
"We'll deal with the Grinders, you deal with those things." Summer ordered to her team and the Samurai Rangers which they all nodded their agreement. She joined the others in summoning their Nitro Swords while the Samurai summoned their Spin Swords and went after their respective targets. The Grinders were mixing their tactics as some tried taking on their foes head on while others took cover behind trees or other foliage in firing their blasters at their targets. The Moogers shared the tactic that the one half of their robotic comrades were doing and engaged the Samurai Rangers head on. The Spitfangs stood back and kept their distance and shot their fireballs whenever getting the chance.
"Spin Sword, Earth Symbol Strike!" Emily cried as she used the enhanced power given to her sword to slice through each Mooger that came her way, she jumped out of the way as one Spitfang fired in her direction and a trio of Moogers were the unfortunate victims of the projectile.
"Turbo Axe!" Ziggy shouted as his weapon glowed a bright green as he swung the weapon around, unleashing energy waves that cleaved through every Grinder that came out at him. However the enemies attacks were relentless as even more Grinders and Moogers poured into the forest.
"We have to get Dr. K to the dumping ground." Flynn pointed out as he took shots with his Nitro Blaster.
"Right, Gem you and Gemma provide cover and get the doctor there safely." Summer told the twins while taking down Grinders with her own blaster.
"Don't worry Dr. K-" Gem started.
"-will be safe with us." Gemma finished as the two provided cover for their friend and mentor as they weaved in and around Grinders and Moogers.
"Uh guys…help!" Ziggy's voice yelled out. All the other rangers turned and saw a Spitfang had Ziggy pinned to the ground. It's mouth was opened as it tried to bite the rookie ranger. The only thing preventing was Ziggy holding onto the top and bottom lips of the creature with his arms in an effort to try and push it back. Ziggy felt his strength draining and his arms starting to hurt as the creature was growing restless at its inability to bite its foe. It changed tactics as the Spitfang's throat started to glow a bright red.
"I got you dude." Mike jumped and swiped his sword across the back of the Spitfang's legs. The creature let out a pain roared as it raised its head and shot the fireball projectile harmlessly into the sky. It turned to try and bite the green Samurai. "I don't think so." He retorted as he thrust his Spin Sword straight into the maw of the creature and watched as impaled through the top of the mouth and through the head where the top of the blade poked out of the top of the crocodile like mouth. The Spitfang gave a pained groan before falling back unmoving.
"Thanks." Ziggy said as Mike helped him up. The brief exchange was cut short as waves of blue energy beams cut through the forest in their direction.
"Now we're in for it." Mike stated as he looked up and saw a group of Papyrox coming in their direction. Unlike the one they faced before which was giant sized, these were human sized and were still just as dangerous.
(The Garage)
Dillon groaned as he opened his eyes. His vision was still a bit blurry and his head felt like it was spinning nonstop. However the overwhelming pain he was feeling before was gone and now was a slight ache in his body. He tried reaching out for the cup of water, but his dizziness caused him to clumsily bump the table stand and knock the cup on the floor.
"Damn it." He groaned and then remembered that Summer mentioned that there was more water out in the general room of the garage. He slowly stood up from the examination chair and made his way out of Dr. K's lab. Through his blurred vision he could make out the sight of the bucket resting on the coffee table near the lounge area of the garage. Dillon slowly made his way towards the bucket until a heavy and sudden wave of nausea hit him and he collapsed to the ground falling on his back. The room was spinning around him and he couldn't concentrate on making it stop. Resigning himself to his fate he laid back on the garage floor until he could get back into focus with his head hurting a lot less. With his eyes closed, the dizziness didn't feel as bad as he took slow and deep breaths. The sound of soft footsteps approaching forced him to open his eyes which caused the dizziness and blurred vision to come back full force..
"Doc." He called out and waited for a response, the footsteps were only response as they got a bit louder. "Ziggy?" Dillon called again, but knew that it was pointless as Summer had said that the others were heading to the dumping ground. The footsteps got louder and heavier and it almost sounded like someone was wearing boots. "Summer." He called out softly remembering that Summer wore boots, but it seemed silly that she would return to the garage just for him. When the nausea got too much again, he closed his eyes from the pain. He could hear the sound of someone kneeling beside him, but the pain hurt too much to turn his head to look at whoever approached him.
The next thing the knew was he felt a hand moved underneath his hand supported it up. His vision distorted he couldn't see on who his helper was as he felt something pressed against his mouth. It was a cup and could feel the water playing at his lips. He opened his mouth and allowed himself to take big gulps of the water before feeling the cup be pulled away and his head was softly placed back down onto the ground. Dillon didn't see his would be helper, but heard footsteps of them walking away. The water's effects were taking hold as the nausea was affecting him less and less and his vision was returning to its sharpened and focus self. He felt energized and ready as he reached down to his morpher and pressed the button to communicate with the others.
"Flynn, Summer are you there?" He called into it.
"Dillon, is that you? You should be resting." Summer's firm tone replied back.
"It's alright, I'm feeling much better."
"Well that's good lad. Because we could use your help." Flynn grunted as it sounded like he was holding something off of him.
"Hold on, I'll be right there."
(Sulfred Mountain Range)
Two Papyrox teamed up and unleashed their energy beam attacks which sent both Ranger teams flying back from the sheer force of the blast tore trees part, others were sent flying, and the ground was left scorched. The third charged forward and engaged the rangers in physical combat with its sword as it easily overpowered each ranger and slashes them all sending them all back in showers of sparks and explosions. The forth turned and followed the trail Gem, Gemma, and Dr. K went down to reach the dumping ground.
"Oh no you don't, Energy Blast!" Summer gathered up chi energy from around her and unleashed it onto the creature. It barely flinched or noticed it was hit as it turned back and fired an intense energy beam in response before turning back to continue on its trek. It took a minute to look around before growing to gigantic size and started to make its way down the path taking even bigger steps to cut time.
A familiar and friendly sight greeted the Ranger teams as the Mach Megazord flew overhead and engaged the giant Papyrox in battle. The rotator blades on the right arm started spinning as multiple cuts were made to the Papyrox. It was knocked back onto the ground, the Mach Megazord continued with a barrage of laser fire, energy beams, and plasma rockets which all scored their mark onto the enemy creature. The Papyrox stood up defiantly as returned fired sending the Megazord crashing back against a mountain.
"There going to need help, you up for it Antonio?" Kevin asked Mike as he observed the battle.
"Hey no problem, me and LZ got this. Lightzord mega mode power!" Antonio motioned to the Lightzord. It glowed on its own and flew up into the air transforming into the Light Megazord. "Go get em buddy!" Antonio shouted. The Light Megazord unleashed a barrage of punches, kicks, and chops which were too fast for the Papyrox to block or parry. "Now use the scatter shot!" The Light Megazord then fired out a fury of battle discs which all hit their target, slicing the Papyrox literally to pieces.
"One down, three to go." Mia remarked. The Papyrox that was engaged in battle with her seemed to take offense to that as it slashed her twice then uppercut her before going to gigantic size itself.
"Hey watch out." Antonio shouted as it was too late as the now second giant sized Papyrox slashed the Light Megazord in the back before firing at it with its energy beam attack.
"Look out Summer!" Flynn shouted as he kicked away a Grinder and watched as a Papyrox leaped into the air to slash down at her.
"Rocket Blaster!" Dillon's voice was heard as purple laser blasts hit the creature knocking it off balance and collide into a tree before falling to the ground.
"Dillon, are you ok?" Summer asked as she saw him run up to her.
"Better than ok." He nodded back to her, "Now let's take care of these guys." Dillon stated as he ran over to Ziggy, Emily, Mike, Mia, and Kevin who were having trouble with the third remaining Papyrox. It unleashed its energy beam attack with sent them all falling back.
"Ziggy, you guys alright." Dillon asked as he helped Ziggy stand.
"Good to see you Dillon." Ziggy laughed as he gave Dillon a high five.
"How about some teamwork." He replied back which Ziggy nodded. "You guys distract him while me and Ziggy will take care of the rest." The Samurai Rangers nodded.
"Spin Swords! Quadruple Slash!" They all shouted as they all slashed the Papyrox with their respective elemental powers, knocking it off balance and disorienting it.
"Turbo Plasma Launcher!" Both Ziggy and Dillon shouted as they combined their weapons. "Engine cell activate." Dillon placed his engine cell in the weapon as they aimed it at the Papyrox. "Ready, set, fire!" They shouted and unleashed the attack. The blast hit the Papyrox in the chest sending it flying back before exploding into pieces itself.
The Papyrox that Dillon knocked down earlier looked up and glared at the Black Ranger as it watched its comrade get destroyed. Now there were only two Papyrox left; one standard sized one while the other was in giant mode fighting the Light Megazord. The Papyrox raised his its head and fired the energy beam at the black ranger.
"Activate Invincibility!" Dillon shouted. The shield seemed to hold at first, until the beam overpowered it and pushed through hitting him. The Papyrox then charged forward and ran at incredible speed colliding with the Black Ranger sending them tumbling down the mountain side before coming to a complete stop. It stood above him with it's sword raise, it made the motion to strike down at him as Dillon raised his arms up in defense. It never came as a bright orange glow flashed behind the creature before it blew up in pieces himself.
Dillon looked up and on what destroyed the creature. He saw Tenaya 7 standing upwards on the mountain slope with her hand blaster pointed in his direction. It only took him a few seconds to realize that Tenaya had destroyed the Papyrox on her own with just one shot. Dillon tried to read her reactions, but she only glared at him before turning around and walking off.
"Dillon come in, are you there?" Dr. K's voice came in his morpher.
"I'm here Doc." He replied.
"Gem and Gemma need your help with that last one creature."
"I'm all ears." He shot back.
"Stand by for a surprise." Dr. K returned back. He wasn't sure what that meant until he heard the sounds of what sounded like a train. Dillon jumped up in surprise as he watched a giant train like Zord burst from the mountainside and collide with the last remaining Papyrox that was giving a huge beat down on the Light and Mach Megazords.
"Doc what is that?" He is asked.
"That is the Paleozord, I managed to synch its receptors with the bio-field to control it remotely. But that's not the only thing it can do." She replied back. The t-rex and triceratops parts of the Paleozord broke off and clamped down hard on the Papyrox with their mouths. It tried its hardest to shake them off, the mammoth part charged forward using its mist attack to throw it off balance.
"Let me hear it." Dillon returned.
"The Paleomax Megazord was designed for Operator Series Red to use. But due to Scott's absence, I've made some modifications for you to use it as well."
"Alright Doc, let's do it." Dillon replied.
"Roger, synching up for Paleomax Megazord configuration." Dillon jumped into the cockpit for the Paleomax Megazord.
"Let's see what she can do." Dillon stated as he took the controls of the Megazord. He directed it as it unleashed a series of punches and kicks. The last kick from the t-rex foot chomped down on the Papyrox's left arm. The full force of the kick cause it to rip the Papyrox's arm completely off its body. The arm fell to the ground, sparks emanated from the end of it. Sparks also emanated from the stump of what was formerly the Papyrox's left arm. "Full power!" Dillon shouted as the megazord's claws glowed a bright red as he made two giant slashes across the creature's body. The Papyrox spun around twice with sparks emanating and showering all over its body before falling over and exploding.
"Fantastico!" Antonio shouted as all the other Rangers cheered. The battle was over with the Rangers being the victors and all four Papyrox being destroyed. Off in the distance Serrator was watching the battle.
"Well now, I didn't think they had it in them. This is going to present a potential problem." He mused as he stroked his chin before vanishing into thin air. Serrator wasn't the only one who watched the battle be won by the Rangers. Tenaya was watching from the distance as well, knowing that they now had a new Megazord on their side presented problems. It was a only a minor setback as she had her own plans in mind for the time being that would soon play out.
(Alphabet Soup Dumping Ground)
"I managed to calibrate the dimensional portal device to exactly how Scott and Gem set it the first time. It should be able to send you back home." Dr. K explained as she pressed a button on the device as it fired a green beam at a nearby wall within the cave and opened the portal.
"That means we can finally go back home." Mike smiled.
"I can't wait, we can help Jayden and Mentor." Kevin agreed. The Samurai turned to face Dr. K and her team.
"We just wanted to say thank you for helping us." Emily started.
"You've would of done the same." Summer replied with a smile.
"Of course, and don't worry. We'll make sure Scott makes it back home here." Mia added in. The girls hugged Dr. K's team while the guys traded handshakes and high fives.
"If you ever decide to cross over to visit, look us up." Antonio stated. They all waved before turning and walking into the portal, after the last Samurai Rangers disappeared Dr. K disengaged the portal.
"You know I'm going to miss them." Flynn pointed out.
"Me too, Mia's cooking was the best." Ziggy laughed.
"You think they'll be alright?" Summer looked up at Dillon.
"I think they'll be just fine." He smirked back at her.
(Elsewhere)
"Your plan to stop the Samurai Rangers from returning seems to have failed." Kilobyte pointed out as he glared at Serrator.
"Perhaps, but it matters not. I already have plans set in motion in my dimension where I will be able to surpass Master Xandred as the ruler of the human and netherworld." Serrator replied back.
"Hmm it seems we share similar plans. Master Venjix places too much faith and trust in the infiltrator hybrid. I plan to make that change. Here if something happens to me, I have this as backup just in case." Kilobyte held out a USB drive to Serrator, it contained a complete design of how his body was made, his specifications and programming right up to the moment this conversation was going on.
"Very well, I shall do the same." Serrator cut off a piece of his own skin and gave it to Kilobyte. "With this I can be guaranteed to be reborn if I am destroyed. Call it my own insurance policy." Serrator smiled. Kilobyte smiled as well, everything was going to change now.
Well how about this update, it was a real doozy of all that happened in it. Real life kicked my butt hardcore so that's why I haven't updated for at least like a month. I hoped you guys enjoyed this chapter, let me know what you thought of it. Thanks for reading J
