When she was in, I gave her a gun
And said shoot and run
It's a job well done,
It's a job well done
If you speak its language,
It will do the rest
A little too soon she put it to the test
She put it to the test
Oh, she doesn't know much,
But she knows this
Life's too short not to take risks
Oh, she steals herself and she goes for luck
She pulls the trigger and lifts it up!
Oh, oh live it up,
Oh, oh, oh live it up
Oh, oh live it up,
Oh, oh
Happy hunter, ripe fresh kill
On to the next one, gotta chase the thrill
You gotta chase the thrill
If you wanna have fun you gotta shoot and run
Leave it fleeted all behind, behind, behind, behind!
Riley was being careful around me and I knew it. He acted like I was here on a casual vacation but I was keenly aware of how closely he watched me. I'm sure he'd figured out why I was here, it wasn't too hard, I'd hid things from Jazz before I left but I there was no point hiding here. Every time I caught Riley looking at me with a hard expression on his face and fists in tight balls I knew it took everything for him to not ask me about it.
The boys at the ranch all treated me like a little sister, except Jake, who looked at me the way no man would at his little sister. I wasn't sure how to feel about his attraction to me, ordinarily I'd find him quite appealing but a romance was the last thing I was looking for. So since he wasn't making me uncomfortable, I'd decided I was flattered by his crush.
I haven't done much while I've been here; I had been helping feeding the men and doing a bit of writing. I've been trying not to think about him but it's near to impossible. He's not the kind of guy you forget. I forced myself to take a break from all the alcohol because it only made me miss him more. Plus it just makes Riley worry about me more than he already is.

The ride in the SUV was silent and Edward just watched me. My skin felt hot and I was sure my blood was boiling, he had his hand in a tight fist like he was trying to restrain from touching me, but I wished he wouldn't. The cars pulled up in a run-down neighborhood and everyone climbed out, Edward came around to my door and pulled me out by my elbow. I looked around at what could only be called a ghetto and wondered who this guy really was and what I was doing with him.
He brought me into a house and instantly the people in the room turned and stared at me, then stared at him, but said nothing. Edward grunted at them and pulled me off to the left. I briefly wondered why I was letting him drag me around but the warm feel of his hand on my skin gave me my answer. Then we were in a room, a room with a bed and a massive closet, and that was it.
''C'mere'' He said. I followed and I got the sense I'd follow this man anywhere. He pulled out a key and opened up the closet, pushed away a few coats and I swear I thought we were going to Narnia. Instead, it was a metal wall, which after he punched in a code, opened to another bedroom ten times fancier than the last. I looked briefly at the huge bed in the center of the room and the mahogany desk but was soon distracted by the wall decorations. Guns, and I got the feeling they weren't all for show.
Before I was finished perusing the room, Edward pulled me in front of him and looked me up and down. ''There's a shower in room to the right, I'll have someone leave clothes and food on the bed for when you come out, you can sleep in here tonight''. I glanced around and sure enough there was two doors in the room, one to the left and one to the right. I then glanced to the bed and briefly wondered if he'd be joining me. ''I'm working tonight, I'll talk to you in the morning''. I looked at him in shock at how he seems to have read my mind but before I could say anything I was swept into a bruising kiss and I forget well, everything. After that he turned and left. The wardrobe door closed over and I was stuck here, but I guessed that was the point.
I decided to take a hot shower and sleep in an actual bed tonight and worry about the consequences in the morning.

I checked my phone for the first time in a few days and saw the usual missed calls from jasper and one isolated missed call sat there from yesterday evening. I got a strange feeling in the pit of my stomach; no-one should have this number. If it was him, he wouldn't have bothered calling; he would've just traced the number and found me so I had no idea who it could be. Deciding to take the risk I called the number back.
''Bella?'' I sighed in relief at the sound of Rose's voice at the other end of the phone. ''Let me guess, Jazz left his phone unlocked and you were snooping?'' ''Pretty much, did you know you're in his contacts as mission impossible? It was a lucky guess considering you're MIA and all.'' I let out a laugh at Jasper's humor despite the tension I was feeling. ''Look Rose –''
''I'm not going to ask, you know I always thought you should leave him, I just want to know you're okay.''
I wasn't sure that I was but I couldn't tell Rose that. ''I will be, it just, got a bit much,'' ''How long will you be gone?'' She asked and I knew my answer. ''I'm not sure I'm ever coming back.'' She was silent at that. ''I love you''. That was the only thing she said before she hung up. ''I love you too'' I whispered into the phone. At least she didn't say goodbye, I'm not sure I could handle goodbyes.
