She was made to blow you away

She don't care what any man say

You can watch her strut

But keep your mouth shut

Or it's ruination day

She's long, long gone

She's long gone like

Moses through the corn

Her eyes are rubies and pearls

And she's not made like those other girls

Her lashes flap and they smack men back

Like springs they bounce off of her curls

She's long, long gone

She's long gone like

Moses through the corn

*flashback*

I woke up to the sound of a shower being turned off. I glanced over to the bathroom door and saw it was open, seconds later Edward appeared through it with a towel slung low around his hips. My breath was literally caught in my throat at the sight of him. His hair wet and tussled, his torso so lean, dusted with light hair and water dripping from it and his arms just looked so 'strong'. His eyes were watching me from the moment he stepped into the room; he made his way over to the bed.

I watched him watching me and held my breath as he leaned his head down towards mine; I closed my eyes and shuddered when I felt his warm lips on my forehead. I kept them closed for a second and thought about how the gesture should seem sweet but there was something strangely possessive about the way he did it. I felt his heat leave my body and I opened my eyes to see him walking over to a chest of drawers in the corner of the room. He stayed silent as he took clothes out and began to change, despite knowing I should avert my eyes, I couldn't help but keep them on his toned body as he dressed. He was beautiful, a work of art, although his skin was marred. Scars and bruises scattered various parts of his body and it was clear to me from how he acted that he was neither proud nor ashamed of these marks.

I slowly got up from the bed and made my way over to him. He heard my movements but didn't give the slightest indication of it. He was about to raise his t-shirt over his head but I placed a hand on his back, between his shoulder blades before he had the chance. He stilled instantly, neither of us had yet to speak a word. I reached up on my toes and with my hand still on his back, I placed a soft kiss on his left shoulder. I felt him exhale at the action and I knew he recognised this as my own possessive marking of him. Just like that, the mutual understanding. 'Mine' I thought.

It was done, neither of us could have known in that moment exactly what it meant to truly belong to each other, how obsessive it could really get. But it had been decided and there was no going back.

It was that moment the tragedy of Edward and I truly began.

I turned the ring over in my hand for the hundredth time. I'm not sure why I took it with me, I knew he'd see me taking the ring with me as a sign of hope despite my initial refusal of it. Hope for him, for me, for us. But for some reason as I packed my bag that night, and I saw it lying on the floor beside the bed, in the midst of chaos, I grabbed it and held it tight as I fled the building, sworn on never returning.

A knock at the door pulled me from my thoughts and I shoved the ring back into the box and back under my bed. ''Come in'' I stated once I was ready. The door opened to reveal Jacob who came to tell me that dinner was ready down stairs. I replied with a nod that I would be down shortly and turned to my window once he had closed the door. As I stared out at the large pasture of land which stretched for miles, I silently wondered how long I would remain here, uncovered. He wouldn't be the only one who would come looking for me once word got out that I'd run. I knew I couldn't stay here with Riley forever but I really didn't know where else to go.

This chapter was a filler of sorts, the flashbacks will skip a little bit now, not drastically, mostly just in weeks to let you guys see into important moments in Bella's life which are central to the story. I'll try not to make it too confusing. BL xo
