MERRY CHRISTMAS! AND, FOR THOSE WHO DON'T CELEBRATE IT: HAPPY WEEKS OFF OF SCHOOL!
Okay, so I have this new story called 'AP English', and you guys should totally check that out. It's about Ally having a huge crush on Austin and how she copes with it, eventually, there will be Auslly in the story, but I think that it's important to tell how it happened. I mean, Ally doesn't have that much confidence when it comes to Austin, so I find it absolutely hilarious whenever she does something that leaves her dumbfounded. So, review on it and tell me what you guys think! There's only, like, eleven reviews at the moment, and I just posted the third chapter, and that's kind of disappointing.
Anyways, here's Chapter 8!
Hope you guys like it!
Ally
Oh my God, oh my God, my water just broke!
The twins are coming and I barely have everything prepared!
Daniel rushed me to his car and drove me to the nearest hospital, since I couldn't remember where the one that I visited was. He kept on hand on the steering wheel and the other gripping mine as I was trying to control my breathing from the backseat of his car.
I can't believe this is happening! I knew that I was going to give birth without Austin there by my side, but I had no idea that a near stranger was taking his place!
"Oh, fuck!" I said, feeling another contraction coming on. This time, the push was stronger than what I've ever really experienced. My hands clutched onto my lower abdomen as I suppressed an oncoming scream.
Daniel said, turning around quickly to glance at me before facing the road, "hold on, Alls, we're almost there."
Alls. Austin had called me that. Before, I used to live off of the way it naturally rolled off of his tongue, but, now, I dread hearing the word. It reminded me of when I could hug Austin whenever I wanted and have him give me piggy back rides to wherever. He was strong, and I was considered 'petite', so it worked out.
Oh my God, I'm about to have two little Austin and Ally's running around! They're going to have his blond hair, my brown eyes, and I would have a reminder of the man I love whenever I look at my children.
It's going to be treacherous, but I'm not about to give up my babies to someone that I barely know all because I wasn't ready to be a parent yet.
I babysit a lot, and I was actually a nanny at one point, so I can do this.
Who knows? Maybe Daniel can help me. Oh, who am I kidding? He probably wants nothing to do with me and the kids!
Daniel carried me into the emergency room, bridal style, and rushed towards the front counter where a few of the nurses sat.
"My friend here, she's pregnant, and her water just broke," he said to a female nurse in pink scrubs, adjusting his grip on me to where I wasn't slipping like I was earlier.
The nurse nodded, calling someone on the phone beside her quickly and telling one of the male nurses to grab a wheelchair.
Once the man had rushed back with the metal wheelchair, Daniel sat me down in it and I held my stomach with both hands, breathing in through the circular hole that I made with my mouth. My body was aching with agony and I wanted nothing more than to hold my two, beautiful children in my arms and feel this pain go away.
Most of the pain I was feeling was physical, due to Austin still clouding my mind. I have no idea if I'm capable of getting over him, but I hope that I can start a new life, even though I don't want to. I want him to hold me, kiss me sweetly, and have our children call him 'Daddy'.
To me, it isn't confusing, but it may seem that way to others when the words come out of my mouth.
I love Austin, I truly do, but I don't want to ruin his future with my mistake.
No, wait, Alex and Andy aren't mistakes, they're blessings. They're a gift from God, a present from the heavens above.
And I'm about to meet them or the first time.
The nurse casually wheeled me to one of the labor rooms that the hospital offered, and I wondered why they weren't taking me to the delivery room.
I grunted in pain as they lifted me onto the sterilized bed. The ache in my region was worse than when I lost my virginity to Austin.
And that's saying something, because my vagina was on fire for the rest of the week.
A female nurse, this one being different, told me to spread my legs to check the dilation.
"I'm going to have your boyfriend here fill out the papers, so we can do some tests on you without him feeling uncomfortable," she had said. I didn't even bother telling him that he was practically a stranger, because I was too busy trying to calm down my pounding head and suppress the pain that was brought onto me.
After the nurse instructed Daniel to fill out the papers at the front desk, he left, and I felt alone.
Once again, I'm alone.
It's these children and I against the world.
Don't worry, my mind whispered, he'll be back soon.
But my heart told me that it wasn't talking about Daniel.
Daniel
Jesus Christ, I thought as I sat down in the cold, metal seat. Some girl that I met just a couple of hours ago is giving birth, and I have to fill out her medical chart.
It's not that I don't mind doing this, but the problem is that I know pretty much nothing about her medical history.
Marking the only boxes that I knew the information for, such as her name, relationship status, phone number, and her address that she had given me earlier, I sighed anxiously, well aware of the people that were giving me odd glances.
I ran a hand through my hair, trying to calm down my nerves that were beginning to get the best of me.
How the hell am I supposed to fill out an information sheet about someone that I barely know?
What am I going to do?
Wait...she did tell me that her father was just a little ways away, but she also mentioned that he had no idea about the pregnancy. It isn't my place to spill the beans about why she's in a God damn hospital, but I do need to figure out her information.
As I stood up, my legs shook from beneath me. I had never acted this far on my own, and I was always considered a mama's boy, so moving out was hard.
This; this is pure stress right here.
"Excuse me," I asked quietly when the receptionist hung up the phone she was on.
She looked at me sweetly. "What can I do for 'ya, babe?"
Oh thank God, I thought, finally able to lift the weight off of my shoulders, she's nice.
I held up the clipboard and laid it onto the counter top. "My friend, Ally Dawson, she just went into labor," I spoke. "The problem is that I don't know much about her." Nervously clasping my hands together, I twiddled my thumbs around the other.
I just hope that Ally still gets service, I thought.
The lady gently lifted the clipboard and set it in front of her. Her eyes scanned over the sheet with a near absence of handwriting, and her eyes diverted back to me.
"Does she have any relatives that you know the information of?" She asked me, cocking her head to the side and grinning warmly, trying to simmer down my obvious nerves and lack of confidence. She probably gets people like me daily, but they're just in the shapes of little kids and people with mental disorders, not awesome teenagers with a pregnant acquaintance.
I think that she realizes that I'm really just smart and hilarious once you get to know me.
And sexy.
I shook my head, and the receptionist's eyes flashed with sympathy.
"Honey," she calmly broke the news, "I can't let you go see her if you are unable to fill out the form. And, if she doesn't have any relatives or friends that know the information, then we can't give her any medicine. She isn't showing up in the system, so I have no idea of her information and her allergies, which means that she could gave a fatal reaction to something that we use and we wouldn't know about it. Sorry, hon, but I can't let her give birth here, no matter how much I want to. It's the rules."
No, no, this can't be happening, not to someone like Ally.
I leaned over closer to her, desperation pouring out as I begged, "Please, ma'am, she's carrying twins. She's only eighteen and she just moved from another city. She was actually going to visit a hospital for a check-up tomorrow, but then her water broke. Please, you can't just kick her out!"
Suddenly, a large hand was placed on my shoulder, and I was faced with an older man, but not to the point where he could have grandchildren. He stood at about 6'4", so he towered over me with dominance.
"Son," he said, "my daughter, here, is really good with technology, so I'm sure that she can find your friend somewhere on the internet."
I peered over to where his shoulder nudged, and I saw a little girl, probably around 8 years of age, playing a game on the man's iPhone.
Aw, man, I'm doomed!
My eyes travelled back to the man and I gave him a nervous smile. "I don't know––"
"Just give it a shot. If it doesn't work, then you can try a different method."
Reluctantly agreeing, I made a bee line towards the little girl as the man bellowed, "Parker, help this man find someone on the internet." Parker nodded, her perfect curls bouncing from the pink scrunchie high in her hair.
After I sat down next to the girl, she opened up the search bar on Facebook and asked for the name.
"Ally Dawson," I had told her.
After letting the results load and scrolling through the other girls named 'Ally Dawson', we finally found her.
Parker said, "okay, it says here that she works with her dad at Sonic Boom, one of the shops in an outdoor mall located in Miami, Florida." Okay, I seriously underestimated this kid.
I searched up the Sonic Boom on my phone and got the correct phone number, pressing the number immediately. Holding the phone to my ear, my knee anxiously bounced up down off of the ground.
I finally was going to get Ally a secure spot in the hospital. The only problem now was paying the bills for giving birth.
In my opinion, pushing a living creature out of your vagina is enough payment.
After what seemed like an eternity of ringing, a male voice picked up.
Third Person
Austin Moon handed the small amount of change to the customer he was serving and picked up the ringing phone.
"This is Sonic Boom, how may I help you?" Closing the drawer to the cash register, he leaned up against the back of the island and faced the entrance.
A shaky voice answered. "Um...uh...can I speak to Mr. Dawson? He is the owner of this store, right?" Daniel had no idea how this was going to go. Maybe her father didn't even own the store anymore! For all he knew, he had the wrong number.
Austin said, "yeah, he is. Here, he's coming this way. Let me get him for you." Austin snapped a few times in front of Lester, who was passing by the register. Pointing to the phone and back to his boss, his eyebrows scrunched in confusion as Lester shook his head and left the store.
"On second thought," Austin muttered, "you just missed him. I'll leave a message for him. Just tell me your name, number, message, and I'll give it to Mr. Dawson." He pulled out the pencil from one of the cups underneath the shelves and notepad. He held the corded phone between his ear and his shoulder, pressing the tip of the led pencil.
Daniel took a deep breath. "His daughter, Ally Dawson, is in the hospital––" He heard a crash on the other side.
After breaking the tip of the pencil on the paper, Austin slammed his hands on the desk and ignored Dez, who accidentally knocked over a stand full of tambourines.
"Wait, Ally's in the hospital? What happened to her? Tell me which hospital you're at––I'm coming over." Just the thought of the brunette, whom he hadn't seen or heard from in months, was now in the hospital over at who knows where. He missed her like crazy, but not even Mr. Dawson knew where she went. She had only told him that she wanted a new start.
Daniel didn't even think when he said: "Oh, we're in Jack––Jamaica." He almost told the person, whom he did not know the name of, that they were in Jacksonville, inside the same state, but he knew that Ally didn't want the word out about her and what she was doing.
Austin was beyond confused. He knew that she had moved, but he never thought that she was flee to Jamaica.
"Jamaica?" He asked, awestruck. "Are you sure that she is in Jamaica?" He spoke slowly, not believing the teenager on the other side of the call.
Daniel threw his hands up in the air, exasperated. "Whatever, dude, I just need her information to fill out the chart."
Austin sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Can you at least tell me what happened to her?" He questioned, wanting to know what was going on with Ally.
He missed her like crazy, and he wouldn't deny that if someone had asked him. The last day he saw her was when he stormed out of her house, mad as hell. He deeply regretted never turning back sooner, for it was too late when he had finally done so. Austin remembered walking into an empty room, one that he used to recognize on the spot. Now, it was a barren wasteland that he could barely use to reminisce the memories of when they were together.
Austin remembered begging Lester for the reason as to why Ally left, but the man himself only knew of little information. Lester had only been told by his daughter that she wanted to start a new life, even though he thought that her old one was just fine.
"Ally...just twisted her ankle. I'm Daniel, by the way, who 'm I talking to?" The guy on the other line had to have known Ally so well if he was capable of giving out every bit of information for a hospital form.
Austin hesitated. Then, he knew that this guy was probably the only shot he had at seeing Ally again, so he answered, "Austin, Austin Moon."
Daniel newly choked on air. Holy shit, he thought, the ONE dude that he wasn't supposed to talk to about Ally. Out of ALL the damn people in the world, it HAD to Ally's baby daddy.
Austin was beyond confused. What the hell was this guy's problem? Was he a fan of the blond or something?
"Okay, Daniel, I'm not about to give out personal information about Ally to some guy that I only know the first name of. I haven't seen her in a couple of months, and I would like to know where she is so I can go and see her. Now, tell me, where is Ally Daws––" The line suddenly went dead.
Austin looked up, in shock, to find that a little girl had pressed the 'END CALL' button, completely taking away the number from the screen.
He looked down at the tiny girl. "What did you do that for?!" He asked, trying to locate the number he recently talked to.
"You weren't paying attention to me, and I was asking you a question," she responded, unaffected by Austin's raging anger.
There's no call history on this damn land line! He thought, squeezing his fists together in anger.
He had the chance to find his Ally, but one second that was filled with a tiny action ended it all. Now, he would have to get a record of the calls from the police department.
It was then he realized that only cell phones could be retraced with their call log.
I just want to be able to look at her and know that everything's all right, he thought, sinking behind the counter and running his hands through his disheveled hair.
I want Ally.
Ally lied down in the hospital bed, a thin layer of sweat coating her blazing skin. She waited patiently for another nurse to come in and check her dilation, in hope that it had risen from 4 centimeters.
Her hand grazed her fully enlarged stomach, unable to see her upper thighs from her propped up position.
The delivery room was not too far away from where her room was located, so she could faintly hear the sounds of screaming and the cries of a newborn baby. Ally thought that this was a miracle––being able to witness the first sign of life for so many children.
Looking out of the small window that showcased the hallway, she saw a father, cradling the smallest person she had ever seen. The smile couldn't be wiped off of the man's face.
Her eyes couldn't help but deceive her by replacing the man with Austin. His breathtaking smile, his glimmering eyes, his inability to for words. The only thing that he would be able to think was how beautiful their babies were.
Just as she thought that, she felt one of the children kick harshly, causing her mouth of open greatly and suck in a large amount of air.
"I know," she cooed,, looking down at the shape of the foot, "I wanna meet you too." She then poked the sole of the foot, and the body part retreated, causing her to giggle.
That means that either Andy or Alex is ticklish, she thought, poking around her stomach, trying to feel her children around in there.
The pain that she was feeling was beyond what Ally thought it would be, but she was learning to ignore it and distract her mind until it's time for the babies and her to go to the delivery room and meet each other.
Laughing to the point where she was almost crying with joy, she watched as little hands and feet poked random places all over from inside the baby bump. She was so into this, she didn't even notice that someone had walked in until they gently shook her.
She came face to face with a nurse with a clipboard in her hands.
"You need to fill this out, since no one else seems to be capable of doing so," she had said, handing Ally the paper and pen from her front shirt pocket. Ally nodded, placing the piece of firm cardboard on her outstretched stomach and began writing, grateful for how convenient her baby bump was
After the nurse left, Ally began filling out the information. Most of the things she had covered, except for who her doctor for this hospital was. She hesitated putting down Austin's name for the requirement of whom the father was, but she knew that this was for the sake of Andy and Alex. Austin may have a genetic dysfunction in his family that Ally never knew about, so she had to take precautions.
She was so close to giving the children Austin's last name, but she knew that someone may find out about them, leak it to the press, and Austin would end his career just so he could take care of them.
Ally wanted Austin there, but she didn't want it to be under these circumstances.
All of the sudden, a large contraction came onto Ally, this one being stronger than any other one that she's experienced. She had experienced some similar to this around five minutes apart, but this one was more immense. It caused her to lose her ability to breathe with control. Punching the button that called a nurse, she cried out in pain, not even realized what she said until she said it.
"AUSTIN," she had screamed.
Tears leaked from her eyes as she stared at the blinding light that was shining from the ceiling.
Now down to a whisper, her voice cracked.
"I...I need you..."
And...MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! AGAIN! Hope it was all something to smile about, and, if not, then it only gets better than the past.
