Nick was being discharged and he could care less. The doctor was going over all of the things that he needed to do maybe hold back these "episodes". Episodes that was what they were calling them. Like he could just flip the channel if he didn't want it to happen anymore, or better yet turn off thHe e set. Nope he couldn't do either of those things. He had a brain tumor an in the end it was going to kill him. He just didn't have the time to care anymore. He wondered what Gracia was doing?

Dr. Gracia Evelette had done it. She had found someone who could take over Nick's case. Her number two at John Hopkins was just itching to get his hands on a case like Nick's. He was more than understanding when she told him why she wasn't able to take on the case any longer. He had spent an extra hour on the phone wiht her reassure her that things was going to be okay. It was odd how he just flip a switch and change from a doctor of equal status to a doctor trying to reassure the girlfriend of a patient. Everything became emotionless. She hoped she wasn't that kind of doctor. She needed to find Nick and tell him the good news. Today was the first day of the rest of their lives.

Burton knew that she wasn't going to like this, but it was the right kind of thing to do. She was becoming a part of a family. He was becoming a father again. It was only right that she got to have a party and invite all her friends.

"What's all this Burton?" Shannon asked as she came down the stairs.

"I thought that maybe we could have a little party to celebrate us making our little family official."

"That sounds nice Burton. Is Nick going to be here? I thought maybe we could go and see him this morning. Do you know when he going to be getting out of the hospital?" she asked trying to see if he knew anything.

"Shannon I know that you want to get a little closer to Nick, and there's nothing that I wouldn't want more than for that to happen but Nick is going through some things right now and he might not" be around much." he explained.

She was trying to see if something went on when he went back to the hospital last night. He was so closed off. If the two of them would just stay in a room long enough they would really see just how the same they were.

"What's going on wiht Nick?" she asked.

"I want our relationship as father and daughter to get off on the right foot and you know the past that Nick had. The past that your mother had, and if I can I'm going to do my best to get him the help that he needs. So for now, i think it's best that you stay away from him.

She desperately wanted to tell him that was not the case, but just like his son she had the feeling that he was very stubborn.

"THanks for the party Burton. I'll see you after school."

She quickly pecked him on the cheek and left the house. She needed to find Nick and talk to him.

Once Nick walked into the offices he knew that everyone knew. Well they knew what they thought they knew. There would be a difference when he went to his office, they wouldn't dare stare at Nick Fallin. Well they would, but they would be a little more subtle about it. Here was another case. They stared, and they stared with a force as if they thought they could stare a hole in you. He gave a little smile and he beelined to his office.

He had barely had his top drawer empty when his door opened.

"Hello." he greeted Lulu.

"I didn't expect you in this morning, did the hospital say it was okay for you to be up and around?"

"They had no choice but to let me go. I assured them of what I was capable of and they quickly discharged me." he told her.

"Nick we need to talk."

"I think you said all that you wanted to say last night. I'm to leave here because of, what really?" he questioned.

"First I hear about what happened at the courthouse and before I get a chance to ask anyone about your dad shows up and tells me what happened when he came to the hospital. They were all kinds of drugs in your system. What's going on?" she asked concerned.

"I'm not your concern Lulu. If you need anything about the baby let me know, but besides that I am none of your concern." he told her quickly leaving the office.

She watched him go and couldn't help but notice that there was something off about his stride.
