Chapter 15 - Parenthood… Of a sort

6,000 years ago…
Saphira was sat at the bow of the ship. The weather clear. The sea calm. They'd been travelling for four months now. She felt sorry for Eragon. He'd almost lost hope. Not to mention the fact that he was dreadfully seasick.
Her eyes widened…
Land. She bugled out a call of relief to the crew and informed Eragon who was currently inside his quarters coughing up his guts.

4,000 years ago…
How are they? Eragon asked.
They are fine… I just hope that this confrontation is solved quickly. Saphira replied.
Aye, these Darkmoon fellows seem to be, for some reason, abhorrently hostile. I hope it doesn't turn to conflict. We don't have many men and there are at least 15,000 camped over yonder.

3,997 years ago…
Lokja, Filsi, Stronje, intjos, Jingar, and five others were dead. Maybe we should surrender. We shan't win. There isn't enough time and there aren't enough of us left.
Eragon, threw his goblet against the bulwark. No! It's not enough. If we surrender what's to say they won't execute us and just keep the eggs.
That won't happen. Eragon, if I must knock you unconscious and sling you on my back I will but you MUST see reason. Saphira sighed. If we do not surrender and are killed they have no chance of surviving.

So it must be.

3,000 years ago.
Darkness.

2,000 years ago.
I can't believe I let you talk me into this crap.
Eragon!

Darkness.

"Well… That explains it, then." Hollow said to himself.
"Hollow, when are we looking for…?" Hollow and his dragon turned to Arya who had one hand on the gate and one on her mouth. "Holy fucking shit," She said through her fingers.
"Hey, Arya…" Hollow replied, cracking a smile.
She let out a high pitched squee. "Where did that come from? Can I hold it? Is it fragile? Can it talk yet? Does it know how to fly? How-"
"Arya, you're freaking out, calm down." Hollow stopped her. His dragon jumped off and ran its head through its neck feathers, purring. Hollow stood up and walked over to Arya and put a hand on her shoulder. "Everything's going to be perfectly fine; we'll just have to lay low for a while."
"6 months?" She semi-asked. Raising Firnen was exceptionally quick in the forests of Du Weldenvarden. It was accelerated as most growth is in the elfish forests.
"Maybe. Probably… I have no fucking clue." He replied, genuinely.
Yes. 6 months until he starts breathing fire. Saphira had been quietly watching until now. And don't think you're going anywhere with my baby without me.
"
Of course, I wouldn't dream of it." Replied Hollow, smiling.
Hollow, of course, had no idea what was going to happen or how it would be done. All he knew was that it couldn't be done there in the largest military base in Lordran. He needed to move away for a long while. He knew not who needed taking or what. He didn't even know if Gubiak would allow it. Even though he wouldn't be able to do much to stop Hollow, that was a bridge not easily burnt. All that could be done right now was ask.

Thank god Rage had been playing too many racing games by the time he'd bought the Lotus or he mightn't have modded it to the high heavens. This included fully tinted windows.
Hollow looked out of the door of the warehouse that, for the time being, supported Saphira. The roadways in the compound were completely clear. It appeared to be training day. An activity, that back in the day, Gubiak would have killed Hollow for missing. He snuck "his new friend" into the passenger seat of the car, wrapped in a black blanket. Usually used for transferring animals INTO the building. Hollow got in in his own side and drove slowly down to the barracks block if it could be called that. They were much more akin to apartments than singular rooms. Arya followed behind on her bike (could she get any cooler). The roads were still empty. Hollow got out of the car, with his dragon in his arms. He buzzed himself in and carried it up to his room. Arya followed him close behind.
Once Hollow was in his room with Arya and his dragon he sit the bundle of cloth onto the bed. It spread out and the dragon sprawled about on the quilt, derpily. It let out a happy smoke ring at Hollow and Arya.
"Okay… I'll go and call him," Hollow mumbled before going into the next room to call Gubiak.
