Kamlet chapter 8: broken and tired

I slowly followed the others; I could not run like the others, but I did not want to be left behind. "wait for me Juno please; I am lame in my foot" I pleaded to him. "yes yes, I know and your arm is broken and what not, why can't you keep it together" he retorted. we reached the end of the undead city, one by one Beatrix was lifting us on to the aqueduct, as she was pulled up by Solaire I wandered to the bars, to my surprise a woman was on the other side, she was mostly hollowed, she was gathering moss from the wall, it was violet, "hello ma'am I am Octave who are you" i asked. "hi deary, please buy some moss" she replied, "I only except souls". "souls" I said, "yes souls" she was annoyed, "how would a pay you in souls" I asked. she sighed from frustration, "just grab my hand you skant". I held my hand out, she grabbed it, then a white miasma started to form from the bond, she let go and gave me a bag of moss attached to a rope. Juno tied it around my shoulders. "friends, I am of to the gate of Sen's fortress" Solaire stated.

and went the way we came. the aqueduct was nice, there was clean water, was safe from hollows and roomy.

after a while we reached the hill above the ruins, I jumped down first, then Beatrix and finally Juno, we went down the hill and my eyes lit up when I saw Kamlet, I shouted to him "hey there it's me Octave". he turned to me, I began to run to him, I experienced a sharp pain in my right ankle, and fell down, I got up and picked up the moss, it was soft. "what happened to your arm" Kamlet asked me, "A demon broke it" I whimpered. "well at least you're standing" he committed. "I…I do not know what to do" I said.

"well what have you done, you have a story to tell know; why continue, your broken" Kamlet said. "go home, the bon fire is right there". I got up and walked over to the bon fire and activated it. I open my eyes and I was back. the bodies were decaying, and ravens ravishing the bodies. how long was I gone, the bodies look like three day old fishes; I hated it when fish was wasted. I walked to the gate, the doors were open, I looked down the path, some small shacks were some distance away, I started walking towards them. I thought about the last couple days as I walked, I have a sword, a bag of moss, and a hell of a story. I am a hero, I saved a man, I fought a weird guy covered in thorns, and slayed a demon. I am a hero who will be remembered, after Vire completes the undead mission, he will tell about all his friends that helped him. I felt like a knight or king, my skin started to become paler from the excitement.

I reached the first house, I knocked on the door. A man wearing Fishermens clothes similar to mine, "hello I am maxi, who are you?" he said to me. "I am Octave" I replied "my I come in". He answered "of course". When I entered the house I saw three other people, one was a balding man with darker skin, he wore a pale blue robe made from some of the cloth from the prison. His eyes were a soft green and his face was gaunt. the second person was a woman with purple hair and pale skin, her eyes piercing and full. She had no signs of hollowing. Her attire was of course elegant. The third person like me had jerky like skin, and his eyes were a ember orange, although the eyes were missing. he wore a loin cloth. "what do you want, you smell like piss and sweat" said the man in the blue robe.

"I saw some houses and thought to examine the kamlet" I said. I don't like the look she is giving me, her eyes, I want to stare at them, but that would be rude. I don't know how much more I can take, I just have too for a couple seconds, just a glance never hurt anyone. This abyss, it is magnificent, I can't look away, I'll look a little longer. I smell terrible, by Gwyn she is going to kill me, she might be a noble of the baroness of this village, oh my oh my. the hollowed out man, I don't like how he is looking at me, I bet he's from Carim and is going to sacrifice me, heretic. Maybe if I start talking to them they will let me leave. "What are you doing spazzy, stop looking at us like that" the hollowed out man. I ran for the door, knocking down the fisherman and bursted through the door, my ankle starts acting up again and I fall in the snow, I try to get up and a man grabs me by my legs and drags me twenty feet. "what do we do with this one," my oppressor said. " lock him in a cell and let him go hollow." said the man in the blue robe.

My cell was in the asylum; that abandoned mess. I was not alone in my cell, the walls were covered in red moss, they took my estoc leaving me defenceless, the other person was lying on some hay, probable going mad like me. I wonder how Vire is doing, hopefully he has done what ever he wanted to go to Blight town for. So this is it; my life ended here. I guess the clerics were right about me, but my eclipse is at least without some beauty I did save a man, I did slay a beast, I did all of it.
