Hello everyone! I hoped you enjoyed your St. Patrick's Day! I had plans that started earlier that day, otherwise this would've been posted a lot sooner. I do hope you enjoy this, and leave a review if that is what you truly wish. *Blows you a kiss* Sayonara~!
This is normal
And this is Ciel's thoughts
By the time the sun had vanished from the English streets, and darkness had taken over the city, Ciel Phantomhive deemed it would be the right time to set out.
"Are you sure you don't want me to stand by, young master?" Dressed in his "paperboy" outfit and standing underneath the light of freshly lit candle post, Ciel portrayed his usual scowl and told his butler, quite bluntly.
"No, you oaf, that's the complete opposite of what I want. If I am seen with you any longer our cover will be blown. Besides, have you forgotten that you can sense when other beings are around or has our little situation at home distracted you once again?"
"Forgive me my lord," Sebastian said with his common smirk, "Your familiarity with selling your body for the queen must have slipped my mind."
"What did you just say?" The earl growled. The demon by his side began to chuckled, his eyes shined with amusement.
"It was nothing, my lord. Just mere humor."
"I did not sell my soul to a demon just so they could become a joker." Ciel stated, "I did so that I could have my revenge and parents avenged, remember?"
"And I assure to you that will occur." His butler said, "I shall forever remain by your side. Even if you were to perish in this world, I will still be by your side within the depths of hell."
"My God you talk too much." Ciel muttered to himself, but knowing that his demon could hear him made the comment more amusing. "Please, spare yourself from talking your way out of the situation you created and leave my sight at once."
"Yes, my lord." As the two departed, the town seemed to be more quiet than normal.
"Why must he insist on having the final word?!" Ciel spat, "Such an incompetent butler." They had been standing a few blocks away from the frequent abduction site. As the disguised earl continue to walk down the stone paved roads, he could feel the chilled air that hit his clothed skin. His nostrils inhaled the scents of London, and it wasn't pleasant according to him.
"Oi, look at this!" Two ladies began to approach the earl, the one to his left was the one who made the comment.
Oh how grand, prostitutes.
"He's still a bit young!" the female to his right added, looking at her blonde haired companion.
"But that doesn't matter, as long as he has enough money." The one to his left whispered, even though it was completely unnecessary; the earl could hear every word. "What do you say, little boy?" Her entire posture and gesters changed as she extended her hand to the earl, "Care to come with us?"
"Um.." Ciel said, expecting that this would be the outcome but still remained dumbstruck.
"What's going on over here?"
"Oh nothing." The prostitute in charge said to an older gentleman who was only passing by. A light chuckle passed her lips as she patted his shoulders reassuringly. "We were just checking up on the boy." She said, speaking the first excuse that came to her mind, "Yeah, after all, them streets aren't safe after dark."
"I see." The man said, a light hum leaving his throat.
"But as we can see, he's fine!" The other woman added, "So we'll just get going!" Before the blonde lady could protest, she was shoved forward and the two vanished into the night.
"Bloody wenches!" The older man spat, "I'm terribly sorry that they disturbed you."
"Um, no, it's quite alright." Ciel said with a fake smile, leaning his fragile body against a lamp post.
"But she was right." He added, "It is dangerous for a small boy like you to be out this late at night. Why are you here?"
"I'm just waiting for someone." Ciel replied, his patience already starting to thin.
"Would you mind if I waited with you?" The man asked, standing next to the disguised earl at an uncomfortably close range. "It would be safer with that option."
"Yes, I do agree," Ciel said, his visible eye started to narrow, " but I actually do mind." Could this be the man I'm after?
"But I do insist." The man said, "Haven't you heard the news? Children have been taken-" That's it, I've had all I can endure! Frustration and irritation flowed through the boy's blood stream. He had come so far with his planning that he would not allow some peasant to destroy what he was trying to create. Hidden behind his back pocket, Ciel revealed his pistol that could only be obtained by the higher members of the social class. And as he aimed the weapon towards the older man's forehead he made it certain that the safety trigger was off.
"Do you doubt me now?" Ciel asked, staring straight at the scared man. The earl chuckled as he took note to the other's widening orbs, the line of sweat that ran down his face, and as the mortified human ran away from the aristocrat of evil he chuckled once more; now the streets were silent once again. The only sound was the whistle of the wind, and the breeze that followed it.
So, if that was my culprit, is that how he lures his victims? Offering assistance to children and taking them when their guard is down? That does seem like a reasonable objective; but what is his motive? Does he enjoy making the helpless even more helpless. No matter, I must inform Her Majesty of the incident that happened this evening immediately.
As the Earl stood there in self thought, the air around him seemed to get colder; causing the boy to shudder and cross his arms tightly across his chest. Bloody hell. The earl scowled all the more and sighed, being the queen's guard dog was never easy. I am well aware of the abnormal weather we've been experiencing, but that is no excuse for the wind to be so chilling! Jesus Christ.
Nonetheless, the earl managed to make it for a half an hour or so. By this point in time all that came into his line of sight were busy shopkeepers, finally making their way home after another stressful day at their business.
I wonder if the menace has struck already? The boy kept pondering to himself, his shifting only became more frequent. Perhaps I'm just wasting my time after all, I should summon Sebastian and see if he has any leads on this subject.
A soft giggle interrupted into his thoughts and surroundings. What Ciel managed to see was a small child walking along the streets. Shrouded in nothing but utter darkness, it was quite fortunate that the earl was only able to make out the child's figure. Although, he wasted no time in following what he assumed would be the next target. Based on the laughter the child was providing, Ciel deduced that the child was a female, roughly around the age of eight-years-old. She was taking long steps at a moderate rate, the sound of her heels echoed across the alleyway.
Why is she laughing? The thirteen-year-old wondered, covering as much of his face as he could to further blend himself into his surroundings. Has she been drugged? No, that's preposterous! She clearly shows no sign of drug use. Then why is she acting so giddy? As he continued to study the young child, he kept noting that her stepping pattern was more of a delighted skip; he would occasionally find himself pacing faster in order to keep up. Damn she's swift!
"Oh Mr. Kitty!" He could hear the girl in front of him exclaim, "Your roses are so lovely! Father would be most pleased if you told him your secret on how you get your flowers to smell so well." As the young teen continue to overhear her one sided conversation the girl was engaging in with herself he was not aware that she had decided to walk down another alleyway. "Would you like to know too, mister?" She asked, and with the sudden turn of the heel she was facing the earl's direction.
Ciel's only visible eye widened, the only thing he could do was continue to lurk in the shadows; hoping that he would not be spotted. His heart was already beginning to race.
"I know you're out there somewhere!" The girl called, rising to stand on her toes, "I could hear you!" Damn! "Hmm?" The girl was back to standing on her feet, her pale blue dress swayed as she spun around in her surroundings, "What's going on?"
A soft melody began to play and fill the air, unannounced. The sound seemed to echo in the small space. It was almost as if the music was coming from a music box, so high up that none could see.
Come little children
'll take thee away,
Into a land of
Enchantment.
What the hell is going on!? Ciel's mind demanded. He wanted to survey the are, try and discover source of the mysterious music. The only problem standing in his way was the possibility of ruining his position and the exposure he did not need.
Come little children
The time's come to play
Here in my garden
Of shadows.
Ciel could only see the puzzled look on the girl's face as he surveyed the area from where he stood. Despite all of his efforts in seeking, the result came out empty; the song continued to play.
Follow sweet children
I'll show thee the way,
Through all the pain and
The sorrows.
"Daddy... Daddy...?! Where did you go, daddy!?"
A soft hissing fled into the earl's ears, his nose became overpowered to the sweet and comforting smell of vanilla and cherries. He could feel his eyes flutter until they closed; unable to open from then on. The Earl's body began to grow numb as he sighed in sweet bliss. His balance was lost not so soon after. He was now leaning against the cold stone wall, a loud thud came about as he did so, exposing his location. What the hell... I can't move at all... My limbs.. I can't control them... Hell... bloody hell! Come to my side at-
"Eeek! Daddy! Come back daddy! Please! Come back, I'm so scared..."
Weep not poor children
For life is this way,
Murdering beauty
And passions.
Se...Sebas...tian?
Hush now dear children
It must be this way
Too weary of life and
Deceptions.
Sebastian, I know you can hear me. Come find me, no matter what the cost, that's an order!
