Hey guys! Sorry I'm so late, please don't murder me! Another chapter of The Myth and the Ice has been released! I've been busy lately, so I haven't had time to write. Either way, Here it is! Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Rosario+Vampire.

A tree trunk splintering. Branches scraping past each other, bending and breaking. Trees crashing to the ground. Birds flying from the collapsing towers of wood. This goes on while the rest of the world just ignores it. They decide that whatever is happening is unimportant, and for the most part, it is. But to two people, it is quite the opposite.

Seth is knocking down the trees quicker and more violent than ever before, making them fall as fast as the tears he is trying so hard to keep in. He just wants to relieve his heart of the pain. But the most he can do is allow the pain in his fists to distract him from it.

Why!? Why wouldn't she listen!? Why did she just assume that I didn't help, that I allowed her to be taken advantage of!? Why wouldn't she let me explain!? These are the thoughts that are running through his mind, the only thing he can think of as he destroys the woods around him.

All he wanted was to be accepted, to belong somewhere. All he ever wanted was to be able to, at the very least, be friends with one person, and he thought that Mizore Shirayuki was the only person he might be able to befriend. Well, I guess I was wrong. The universe has proven to me that I cannot change it. Another point to you, Universe, you magnificent bitch! Go on, have your way with my life!

As if on cue, Seth hears a voice. And it only makes him angrier.

"Umm, excuse me? Are you okay?" the small voice of Tsukune Aono sounds from behind a non-felled tree.

"Positively perfect, thank you for asking," Seth says shortly, not stopping to turn towards the boy.

"Really? Ok then, if you insist, I guess I'll just…"

"Tsukune? Oh, there you are, Tsukune! What are you doing?" Seth hears Moka's voice and decides that the area is becoming more populated than he is comfortable with and teleports away, leaving Tsukune by himself.

"Oh, Moka, I was just-" Tsukune starts before realizing that Seth was no longer in their company. "Nothing, just getting some fresh air," he finishes, laughing nervously.

Seth stands there, looking at the frozen form of Tsukune Aono. He is used to seeing the whole world at a standstill, even the air particles have stopped moving, making the environment incredibly cold. This is the Fourth Dimension, and it defies both time and space. It exists within the dimension that all others live in, but it is invisible to them. Whenever someone enters the Fourth Dimension, the world is frozen and transferred to another dimension. That person can then move about this dimension and leave it at will, giving off the impression of teleportation. The person can also invite others into the Fourth Dimension, trapping them in time and space until they let them go. Plus, because of the cold temperatures, anybody that is unprepared could very possibly die from hyperthermia within the hour.

Because Fourth Dimensional beings are born in said dimension, they are automatically accustomed to the arctic temperatures. Seth being one, he can stay as long as he wants, and actually prefers the cold to the warm. This was yet another reason that he was attracted to Mizore. He stares at Tsukune and thinks about his situation. This was the man that had everything that he wanted; the man that could take Mizore as well as multiple others at any time; the man that, even though he didn't want to be in that position, allowed these girls to constantly and repeatedly throw themselves at him. This was proof that, just like in every other aspect, Tsukune Aono was weak.

But Seth could end it all here. There were so many ways to get out of Tsukune Aono. He could kill him right now; he could trap him in the Fourth dimension and allow the cold to take him over. He could blackmail him with the information that he was a human; threaten to tell everybody if he didn't leave. He could tell them anyway. Nobody would know, nobody would suspect.

Nobody, except one.

Once again, Mizore Shirayuki is searching for Seth Makarov. She is running through the woods towards the area in which she could hear trees falling. Suddenly, the noise stops, and she starts running harder, not knowing what could have possibly interrupted his activities. When she finally bursts through the tree line and into a clearing and she freezes. Well, more so than a snow-woman already is.

"Tsukune?" she asks worriedly, looking around cautiously, searching for any signs of a large, angry teleporter.

"What is it, Mizore?" Tsukune asks.

Satisfied with her assessment of their surroundings, Mizore relaxes a bit. "Nothing, Tsukune. You shouldn't be out here alone," she advises.

"He's not alone, he's with me!" Moka cheers happily, jumping on Tsukune's back.

"Wha- Moka! Don't jump on me like that!" Tsukune whines.

Mizore drops her gaze from the sight of the two happy people. They really do look like a couple, don't they?

"So, Mizore, was there something you wanted to talk about?" Tsukune asks the girl, rousing her from her thoughts.

"Wha- no, it's nothing. I'll be going now," she turns and leaves, trusting in Moka to keep Tsukune safe, should anybody try to besiege him.

"Where do you think you're going?"

The question was not entirely unexpected, nor were the 10 guys surrounding Seth. He had guessed as to when they would show up, but it seems as though their boss was a quicker healer than he thought, the man in front of him being the same one he had just humiliated yesterday. He doesn't look to be in the best condition, so he may just be an idiot. Seth really didn't care. Now was probably the worst time they could have chosen to do this. Worst for them, anyway.

Seth decides that he would rather not get caught beating the crap out of these guys, so he enters the Fourth Dimension, taking one of them with him. This man seems to be the one that was going to charge first anyways, as he did so immediately. Seth dodges the punch and sends a sharp kick to the guy's gut, and then a flat footed one to the side of his head, knocking him out. He brings the unconscious body with him to the rest of the world and allows the guy's friends to realize that one of them isn't standing anymore. They see Seth standing in the same position, have seemingly not moved in inch.

"Wh-what the hell are you, you freak!?" one of the remaining adversaries shout, each one backing up before eventually running away.

Seth stands still. Freak. He had been called that before, but this time seems different. He finds it infuriating that, just because he can easily beat them up, even fellow monsters get to call him a freak. No longer desiring to do anything, he goes to the one place that has caused him pure happiness, the only place he can truly feel at ease. He may not wish to speak with her right now, but watching Mizore Shirayuki is still an appealing activity.

Mizore is sitting on her cliff having given up on searching for Seth. She figures that if a teleporter didn't want to be found he wouldn't be. So, she contents herself with sitting on her cliff, looking out over the blood red water, thinking about the day's events.

I messed up. I told him that I would listen to whatever he had to say, told him that he could tell me his side of the story. But as soon as he said something that I didn't like, I freaked out and wouldn't listen. He tried to explain, but I wouldn't let him. When he finally got the story out, he felt rejected and ran away. Now he may never open up to anybody again, and it's all my fault.

She is so absorbed within her own thoughts that Seth is able to watch her without staying on edge in case she sensed him. He watches her and wonders what she is thinking. Is she still mad at me? Did she even hear what I said, or was she too angry? Not like it matters. I don't think I'll be talking to her ever again. I'll have to stop stalking her now. I wonder what I'll do.

Even though he is conflicted, Seth still admires Mizore's beauty. Sitting with one stretched out and the other bent up to her chest, her arm draped over her knee, Seth observes Mizore's porcelain skin in the moonlight, sees her lavender eyes gaze over the horizon, her lollipop in her mouth as usual.

Mizore decides to leave. She searches for any monster energy that could be Seth's, and she is surprised to find it right behind her. She stands up and turns around, walking slowly towards the woods, away from Seth. She doesn't sense him leave, and she takes the opportunity to think up a plan.

Seth is watching Mizore cautiously. He doesn't know why, but he can't seem to find it in him to leave. Maybe it's because he is too exhausted, today's events having taken quite the toll on him mentally. Maybe he didn't care if he got caught. Maybe he wanted to get caught. He doesn't know, and quite frankly, he doesn't really have the capacity to figure out why, either.

Mizore, standing next to the bushes that she could clearly sense had her target in them, freezes the area surrounding them, trapping both of them inside a dome of thick ice.

"Seth, I want to talk to you," Mizore says matter-of-factly in her usual somewhat monotone voice.

"And what, pray tell, do you want to talk about?" Seth replies with a bit of bitter sarcasm.

"I want to apologize," Mizore says, bowing her head. "I'm sorry for the way I acted. I told you I would listen, but I didn't. I hope you can forgive me. I hope we can still be friends."

Seth seems to consider it for a moment. "I accept your apology, but I'm not sure that I can accept your friendship," he says levelly.

"Why not?" Mizore asks confused.

"Because, Mizore, unlike you, I just don't have the strength to try and climb my way out of the friend zone. I know that if I become friends with you, I will be miserable so long as I have feelings for you. At least this way, you don't have to deal with me."

There is a pause, and Mizore thinks about what to say next. She knows how Seth feels. She has thought about giving up on Tsukune before. Sure, she extinguished the thought as soon as it had appeared, but it had crossed her mind. She knows what misery he's talking about because she experiences it every day. But what if I did give up?

Seth waits for a response, the hope that he knows to be entirely false still rising in his chest. Maybe she'll abandon her quest for Tsukune's love; maybe I'll have a chance! Of course, he doesn't actually believe that he ever have one. He just likes the thought. After a while, however, Seth decides that it's about time he leaves. So, in the same fashion as last time, he enters the Fourth Dimension and starts punching the ice to create a hole to escape. Once out, he leaves the Fourth Dimension and walks away, watching as Mizore releases her dome and walks back to where ever it is that she is going before heading back to his dorm.

Mizore is walking quickly towards spot number 329, right outside of Tsukune's dorm window. She is later than she usually is because of her encounter with Seth, and Mizore has a feeling that something is going to happen. Little does she know it is already happening.

She finds her usual comfortable bush and looks up to his window and notices that he isn't at his desk like he usually is, so she can't see him. She looks to the other dorm that usually has its lights on, Moka's, and sees that they are off. She gets an uneasy feeling in her gut and decides to investigate.

She starts climbing the side of the boy's dormitories, not caring if anybody sees up her skirt. Once at the top, she presses her face up against the window and sees that the main room of the dorm is vacant. She tries opening the window to climb in and sees that it is locked. She freezes the lock and breaks it silently, sneaks into the dorm and tip-toes around the corner to Tsukune's bed and, for the third time that day, freezes out of shock. There, on Tsukune's bed is Tsukune Aono, making out with Moka Akashika.

Her heart plummets to her stomach, making her sick. It hurts so much that she wants to cry, but no noise comes out of her open mouth. Her eyes start swelling with tears and one slides down the side of her face. It freezes and falls to the floor and makes a small thud, but the couple doesn't hear it. However, when she backs up into the wall, they do, and they both whip their heads around to see Mizore turn and run, teardrop shaped ice cubes falling all the way.

"M-Mizore! Wait!" was all that Tsukune can get out before he hears his window slam shut.
