**Falling, Falling Snow**

~Chapter Two: The Girl Who Looks Good In A Skirt~

I laid back on my bed as I looked at the ceiling. No matter what I did, I could not get her out of my head, the girl who was with Lavi. What really bothered me was the idea of them dating. Who would even want to go out with Lavi? I only had Literature with him, but I could already tell that he was a nuisance.

The girl with him was a different story. She had a beautiful smile and was friendly in every way. One day, she even said hello to me. I waved shyly back at her. She giggled at that. God, she was so cute!

"Lenalee, we need to go!" Lavi shouted from the end of the hall. Lenalee, what a pretty name… It suited her well. Her long hair had flown behind her, making her appear like a goddess as she walked away.

Sighing, I ran my fingers through my hair. I did this often when I was frustrated. How was I going to deal with my life for the next three years? Once I was able to go to college, I would move out somewhere by myself and probably just work odd jobs. I had no dreams, so there was no point in setting big goals for myself. Just three more years and I would be free…

Breaking out of my thoughts, a woman entered my room. She was dressed in a low cut black dress that revealed everything. I quickly sat up as I saw her, realizing what she was. As I expected, a moment later Marian Cross came stumbling into the room as the woman screamed.

"What's the matter, Pamela…?" The drunk man slurred. The woman named Pamela clung to him in horror and pointed to me.

"Who is he? Do you know him?"

"He's my adopted son."

"What on god's earth is wrong with his hair!?"

"Whatever do you mean…?" He looked over at me. I glared at him and Pamela both as she bombarded him with questions.

"His hair is snow white and his arm… IT'S COVERED IN BLOOD!" She ran out of the room, screaming, and Marian soon followed. I stormed over to the door and slammed it shut.

"Oh, shut the **** up!" I turned the lock so they could no longer disrupt my privacy then I slid down the oak door. I hated it when this happened. No one understood me, and if I ever showed my true self, they screamed,

"FREAK!"

"Freak!"

"Freak."

"Freak!" I then could mentally see myself as a child, huddled in a corner crying. Children surrounded me and chanted the word I oh so hated. It was a time when Mana allowed me to enroll in a catholic school connected to the church. He gave me assurance that I would be treated like a normal child, but he was wrong. Even these children were evil. "Go back to where you came from, Freak. No one wants you here anyway! You're an outcast!" My large blue eyes widened in shock then once again filled with tears.

"What is this!?" Everyone lifted their heads to see Mana standing in the doorway. He maneuvered his way through the crowd and crouched beside me. "Come along, Allen, we're going home." He took me into his arms and carried me out of the room and into the hall. When we were going through the covered walkway leading to the church, I began to bawl into his chest. "Allen, it's alright. I'm here; I will always be with you…" He smiled and held me closer, allowing me to doze off into his comforting embrace.

"Mana…"

"Mana…" I sighed as I thought about him. He was the only person in the world that I cared about who cared for me just as much. Smiling, I stood back up and walked over to my window. Just as I began to sit at my desk, Marian yelled for me from downstairs. "Grrrr…!"

xXx

"What happened to the broad you were with?" I asked him as I stepped down the carpet stairs and walked into the living room. The sorry excuse I had for a guardian was flopped onto the couch, groaning. Surprisingly, he had not one woman on his arm. We were the only two in the house now.

"She left after she met you…" Typical. "Anyways, we'll be having guests, so clean up. My friend is visiting."

"Since when do you clean up? And as for your friend, we better beg for a miracle to make you sober because you reek of alcohol…" I looked around the room and began folding a blanket when he answered me.

"Oh, he's used to it… Don't worry!" He threw up his arm in a dramatic sense and laughed. He was totally wasted… The ring of the doorbell prevented me from saying anymore, so I let it slide. It's not like I could do much about his drinking problem anyway.

The door creaked open as I grasped the handle, turned it, and pulled. The sight that met my eyes nearly made me jump out of fright.

"Hello; you must be Allen. I'm Lenalee Lee, and this is my brother, Komui. It's very nice to meet you!"
