Chapter 3 Liv more

Shep was walking though the posh end of town, well posh for New London at least, her parents were lucky to have survived the war and managed to save some of their tech which gave them a great start in this new world, although Shep always wondered how they managed to maintain such a lifestyle. As he approached the flat that contained Liv's home he started trying to remember which room was hers. He quickly remembered as he approached the front of the building, he walked around the side of the building and ascended the fire escape until he reached her room.

Shep tapped on her window "Liv, are you awake?" he whispered as loudly as he dared "Liv let me in." a little louder this time.

After a few minutes a light flicked on and the curtain's swung open, Liv was holding her dressing gown closed with one hand and rubbing her eyes with the other "Shep?" she tried to fight back a yawn and failed "what the hell are you doing here?"

Shep gave her a flirty wink "To sell you my services of course."

Liv let out a sigh "Are you drunk?"

"Maybe a little." he smiled "And locked out of my place, can I crash here?"

"I guess but you'll have to keep it down."

"Sure… I guess this means you don't want the special treatment for 50 credits?"

Liv frowned at his as he climbed through the window "no."

Her room was surprisingly well furnished considering that there wasn't much available the room had a ceiling mounted light, a larger than normal bed, a set of draws, a desk with a hard light computer interface built into it and Shep was a more shocked that there was a door for her bedroom then the hard light computer.

Liv climbed back into bed as Shep looked around the room, he started looking for a spot on the floor to go to sleep "What the hell are you doing? There's more than enough room for both of us here."

"Liv are you trying to get me into bed with you?"

Liv blushed a little as the colour started coming back to her cheeks "Well if you would rather sleep on the floor…."

"Fine, I'll join you." Shep climbed onto the bed which was much more comfortable then he was used to and got under the sheets "Spoon?"

"Very funny, so what actual happened tonight?"

Shep started telling her about the night at Verdant. She sat up and listened to every word while studying his face, when Shep was finally done talking she could tell that he had enjoyed himself "It sounds like you admire the runners."

"Their job certainly sounds interesting"

"Do you really think you parents would want you going outside of the walls?"

"I don't think that really matters they can't really stop me and I can't remember much about them now any way."

"There's a lot of risk involved with going outside of the walls and from what I hear the pay is rubbish, they generally only get paid if they find things worth using."

"I'll keep that in mind." Shep ran his hand through his slightly scruffy hair and tried not to slur his words "There is something I've been meaning to talk to you about."

Liv started getting a little nervous and slid down her bed to try and get comfy "What's that?"

"Rico said something earlier and I'm sure he was only joking but…."

"I've never known you to be this shaken up around me Shep, what did he say?"

"He thinks that you love me."

Liv rolled her body towards the door and away from Shep to try to hide the fact that her face had turned bright red "Of course I do, you're like a brother."

Shep looked at her and smiled, he knew her to well "That's a shame I've always had a little bit of a thing for you."

Liv looked back over her shoulder at Shep "Really?"

He looks back at her "Of course." Shep rolled over and slid his arm under the covers and over her waist "You've always been there for me ever since my old man passed away." He started nuzzling into her neck.

Liv placed her arm over Shep's "Well you looked like you needed a friend." Liv let out a sigh of relief "I'm glad you feel the same way Shep…. Shep?" Shep had passed out and started snoring in her ear "Great."
