PART 1
After Theresa Rourke lost her sonic powers, she took a leave of absence from X-Force to heal beside her aunt. She also took a holiday, and could not fathom anywhere else to unwind than Hamoa Beach in Maui. Today, the bikini clad-Syrin laid on a beach-chair and sipped on a cool drink. It would also prove to be her worst day there.
"Aloha!" A raspy voice resonated from behind her.
Having heard the familiar voice, her head jolted upward. She shook her head, laid back and sipped her drink again.
"Hey, look, Fat Elvis is surfing out there!" Deadpool said.
"Oh, no, no, no, no, no, not Deadpool." Theresa leapt from her chair and spun around.
"Yes! Deadpool! The crowd goes wild!" Wilson knelt by a sand castle, wearing his trademark mask, a Hawaiian shirt and long white pants. As she stood akimbo, he scanned her up and down. "Faith and begorrah, you forgot the rest of your swimsuit!"
"What the hell are ye doin' here? How th' bloody hell did ye find me?" She quickly put on a robe.
"If they were the essay questions on my SAT I'd have a Harvard degree." Wilson sheepishly hung his head, and dragged his feet in the sand while strolling toward Syrin.
"Stay back, you fuckin' arsehole. I swear, I'll hurt you. How did you find me?" Theresa recoiled, concerned about her own safety. The person in front of her mauled her and she could not possibly let down her guard.
"You need better privacy protection on your credit cards," Wade struggled to answer.
"My credit card records, you bloody..." Theresa shut her eyes and sharply exhaled.
"Wait, Theresa, I'm the first, next and last in line to say I'm a bastard loser scumbag. I can't change what I was and what I'd done, except maybe get a guest spot on Dr. Phil, or perhaps that wouldn't be a good idea." He had not yelled, even over the ocean noise.
"Fuck off, I'm callin' the police," Theresa grew impatient and Wade wondered why she hadn't turned him into a quivering puddle of jelly.
"Please listen. You're one of a select few great people to cross the crusty doorstep of my life. I would never hurt you."
"I don't believe you, Wilson! You beat the shit out of me," she said.
"I didn't. I swear to the passion of the Christ," he calmly assured her.
"You're claiming another person who looked, talked, an' smelled like you sent me to the E.R?"
"What the heck do I smell like?" Under his mask, he arched his brow.
"You once warned me how you're a bad man who dwelled in dark places. Well, I finally felt it. You need to go, right now." She picked up her phone.
"Please, you've must've encountered dozens of shape changers in your time with X- Force." He said stoically.
Syrin stopped dialing 911. Deadpool was a hostile, violent man. But whoever hurt her, had fierce, jealous anger. This person didn't seem like the Wade who watched over her while she slept, who was content with friendship and who spared the life of his torturous doctor.
"Yer tainted past still leaves me in doubt. As of right now, I'm afraid of you," she admitted.
"I'm sorry you feel that way, but I'm telling you the God's honest truth."
"Leave, Wade. I'm on holiday and I refuse to think of you," she dismissed.
"Okay, I'm gone." he sincerely answered and was about to tap his transporter belt. Suddenly, a shadow exponentially enlarged where Deadpool stood. "Funny, there wasn't supposed to be an eclipse this year."
Deadpool faced upward and a humanoid plummeted from above. He leapt out of the way of massive being slamming on the sand castle. The impact kicked up the beach sand several feet into the blue Hawaiian sky. As the sand cloud settled, a familiar shape began to form in front of Wade Wilson's eyes: a titanic, cyan-skinned, mouth-less, red-eyed alien with organic armor and weaponry. It stood silently with prominent vengeance in its eyes.
"Are you okay, Wade? What is that thing?" Theresa was also dispelled by the creature's impact. But she witnessed the frozen in fear Deadpool.
"It's Tiamat," he squeaked out. "Hey, you big bully! I don't need Charles Atlas to kick your ass!"
"Mithras, you stole my destiny," The creature uttered in pure American English.
Syrin stood upward and motioned toward Deadpool.
"No! Get the civilians to safety!" He pleaded with her. "Theresa, do it!"
"Fer Christ's sake, what the fuck's goin' on?" She hysterically asked. and flew off to assist locals and tourists and already fleeing the ensuing melee.
"Been a minute, Tiamat! The wife and kids still butt ugly?" Deadpool grunted as he up righted himself. He intended to buy Syrin time to completely evacuate the resort's patrons.
"Mithras must die. Revenge." Tiamat growled.
"Wake up call, Cecil! I ain't the Mithras. Aint my fault you lost your job to and went all wack-a-doodle." Deadpool announced.
Tiamat's staff emitted a powerful energy burst which Deadpool dodged,
"You goddamn asexual freak! I was trying to make amends with a hot woman! Now we're ruining her day!" Deadpool said as he scrambled to hide and regroup. He left all of his weapons behind to appear less threatening to Theresa.
Tiamat shot more energy bolts and ultimately hit Wilson's left leg. Deadpool roared as his own flesh was burned to a crisp. "Steroid Rage E.T., everyone! Give him a round of applause!"
The alien champion strode through the sand while Deadpool laid out at the shore edge. Tiamat aimed the staff point straight for his heart. "Mithras stole my destiny. Die!"
Suddenly, Wilson wailed handfuls of wet sand and them into the eyes of Tiamat, who let loose a roar as he was temporarily blinded.
"Zip-a-dee- doo dah, zip-a-dee yay," Deadpool sang, with his leg healing. He snatched the organic staff from the distracted Tiamat and slammed it across his face with the rounded end.
"My, oh my, what a wonderful day," The alien staggered back. Wilson sung as he horizontally rammed the staff into his Tiamat's sternum.
"Plenty of sunshine heading my way, zip-a-dee doo dah, zip-a-dee yay!" Then Deadpool whiffed it upward, and cracked Tiamat's jaw.
Tiamat backhanded Wade's face, sending him flying yards across the beach. He formed a long, deep trench in the sand.
"Mr. Bluebird? Why are there so many of you flying around my head?" Wilson still had the staff in his hands as he tried to focus.
"You denied my destiny!" Tiamat screamed.
"Everything can't be so bootylicious, you discount Ninja Turtle."
Tiamat charged like a bull at the merc with a mouth, who played matador and slipped away. But Tiamat's claws nicked his chest. Wade;s reaction was remembering a worse injury by his talons.
"I train for many years to be universe champion. You, only Mithras. My destiny, you stole," were Tiamat's calculated words.
While he first confronted Tiamat, he had not understood his grunts and swallows. Now the creature spoke rudimentary English.
"The crap you're using is what I used against the Messiah! You've been swiping office supplies!" Deadpool noticed.
Indeed, that armor was similar to what they both wore. The beast had a symbiotic bond with it that enhanced their minds and bodies, but only Wade Wilson became its true wearer.
"You're on me with the same kind of armor I stole from your blue ass!" Wilson noted.
"You are correct," Tiamat processed Wilson's words and removed the living armor, tossing it into the ocean.
"Wow, this is identical to the climax of Predator," Wilson uttered.
"Mithras, fight and die," Tiamat said.
"Sucker!" Deadpool swung the staff at the alien, but Tiamat broke it into two pieces. "What was the Governator's line? 'Bad idea?'"
Tiamat punched Deadpool square in the face, knocking him down. The massive, speedy alien trudged forward, scooped up Wilson by his ripped Hawaiian shirt, and jabbed him in the face. Somehow Wilson had not fallen again.
"Draw me a bath, Hobson" he slurred.
A third, thunderous Tiamat punch sent Wilson closer to the resort. Deadpool chuckled after he spurted up blood. Tiamat's final punch rocketed Deadpool through chairs, tables, and parasols. After he skidded to a halt, he laid face down, motionless. More blood fell from his mouth and it pooled on tiles.
"Mithras, vengeance is mine," Tiamat droned.
"Kiss my scabby ass, Ghost Rider," Wilson squeaked.
The loudest shriek rung out and repelled Tiamat far from his prey. Tiamat reacted forcefully to the piercing noise, which was unlike anything it had ever heard, and he landed hundreds of feet away in ocean. Syrin had regained use of her sonic screaming powers. She checked on the semi-recovering Wilson, cradling his head in her left arm.
"Hey, Red, I thought you were scared of me," he uttered.
"That beast is way scarier than you, sod," Theresa Rourke admitted.
"A compliment," he said as his healing factor kicked in. "What happened?"
"Tiamat dinnae seem to like me scream," she observed "You're not gonna fight it anymore, are you?"
"I have to," Deadpool said while he grew stronger and motioned to stand.
"I'm helping ye, Wilson, whether I like it or nae," the attractive mutant stated.
"I never look a gift horse in the mouth. Not that you resemble Mr. Ed. You have nicer teeth."
"Wilson, shut the fuck up," she barked, as they prepared for a second round.
Deadpool couldn't help but widely smile under his mask, for Syrin was going to assist him even beyond her trepidation.
