The Time Stop:
Chapter Seven:

"WHAT!"

"ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY INSANE!"

"Jeez. You'd think I'd just suggested we assassinate the president or something."

"Sam, what you're suggesting would probably be a freakin suicide mission! With all the security around that place, ghostly and otherwise, Vlad would know the second we stepped foot on his property that we were there," Tucker tried to reason.

"But it's the only way to get into the Ghost Zone. We need to at least try! We have to find Danny! Didn't we just say that we weren't going to give up?" Sam retorted angrily.

"I really want Danny back too, but we need to think logically about this." Jazz said., still slightly sniffling as she brushed her messy hair out of her eyes. Sam rolled her eyes and crossed her arms in front of herself. Of course Jazz would say something like that. Future Psychologist and whatnot.

Jazz noticed the change in Sam's attitude and started to explain. "We could potentially get hurt or in major trouble for trying to beak into the Mayor's mansion. Plus if Danny really did leave of his own accord, he wouldn't want us putting ourselves in danger to try to bring him back to the place he left."

Sam remained silent at that. It made sense, even if none of them liked it.

"Then there's nothing more we can do right now. Until we can get the Fenton portal open, we're basically SOL," she finally whispered to the other teens.

"Pretty much," Tucker sighed. "I promise I'll keep working on it. Maybe I missed something the last time I tried to get in. I can contact a few people, look up some new tricks, see if anything works. For now though, as much as I hate even the idea of it at a time like this, we have to get to school."

The girls silently nodded their agreement. After that, Tucker and Sam waited as Jazz ran up the stairs and into her room to make herself look at least somewhat presentable. Five minutes later the three teens rushed out the door to get to the school, Jazz locking the door behind them.

"What do we tell people?" Tucker asked once they crossed to the other side of the street.

Jazz, who was previously staring at her shoes as they walked, looked up at him and then in front of her again as she thought for a moment.

"We should probably tell everyone as little as possible," she said, still looking in front of her as they walked. "Only inform the teachers, not any of the students. I don't want to have to hear them in the hall calling him even worse names than they already do."

The last sentence was whispered and laced with the guilt that all of them were feeling.

Sam and Tucker both muttered a "yeah" and the conversation ended there. The three of them walked the rest of the way to school in silence. Each of them was lost in their own private thoughts with the questions running through their minds.

The school appeared in the distance before them after another few minutes and when they reached their destination, they went their separate ways. Jazz gave the two younger teens what she probably hoped was a reassuring smile, but it didn't reach her eyes and it was obvious how upset she still was.

Sam and Tucker gave her a small wave and scurried off down the hallway towards their lockers. Along the way they tried hard to block out all the happy laughter filling the halls as their peers shared their wonderful weekends with each other.

The pits in their stomachs only grew as the laughter sounded almost deafening. Why did everyone else around them get to be so happy and cheerful when it feels as if their hearts had been ripped out?

Hope you enjoyed. You probably all thought I was lying about getting this posted so soon. Well it looks like I actually stayed true to my word this time. Turns out my inspiration was drawn back to me finally. I even a have a somewhat structured outline for the next few chapters already. Next time we find out what happened from where the last chapter leaves off with Danny!
