I do not claim ownership of the cartoon Danny Phantom. Get your facts straight here people.
Previously:
Danny Fenton has run away from home. He packed his bags and set out on a journey with no clear destination. Along the way, he runs into his clone/cousin, Dani with an i, and the two have now made their way to Las Vegas where they just saw the pirate show located at the Treasure Island Hotel Casino.
Meanwhile, back in Amity Park, Danny's friends and family are doing everything they can think of to track Danny down and bring him home, including bringing in the police to help search for the runaway boy.
The Time Stop:
Chapter Thirteen:
Dinner had been finished and everyone gathered in the living room to do homework and listen to the news. The TV was turned on and the nightly news had only just started. A red-headed, green-eyed woman was seated at a table, a viewing screen just behind her to her left. The screen currently showed a picture of a cartoon ghost inside a slashed out circle.
"This is Tiffany Snow with Action News. Ghost activity has reached an all time low since the ghosts were first sighted here in Amity Park more than two years ago. There has been no explanation given by the expert authorities, the Guys in White, or Amity Park's resident ghost enthusiasts, Jack and Maddie Fenton. Not even Amity Park's own ghostly hero, Danny Phantom has been spotted for days."
The teens in the room looked up from their homework at the mention of the ghost teen and squirmed slightly in their seats, deep worry glistening in their eyes as they exchanged silent glances.
The image on the viewing screen faded and was replaced shortly thereafter by a triangle with an exclamation point in the center. The image spun clockwise on the screen as Tiffany Snow proceeded to address the next hot topic of the evening.
"In other news, it was recently brought to the APPD's attention that late last Friday night, one of Amity Park's teen citizens has presumably run away from home. Oddly enough, this local teen is the son of the previously mentioned ghost hunters Jack and Maddie, Danny Fenton."
The worrying teens snapped back to attention at the mention of the run away teen. The viewing screen faded out again to be replaced by a photograph of the young boy. The photo was obviously cropped to show only the missing boy and not the two people standing on either side of him at the time the picture was taken. He was smiling brightly at the camera as if he was about to laugh.
"The police are still investigating evidence as to how or why the boy has disappeared and are not releasing any information on the matter at this current time. The family asks that if anyone has any information as to the whereabouts of the sixteen year old to please contact them immediately at the number listed at the bottom of your screens."
In bright red lettering at the bottom of the television screen a phone number flashed a few times before remaining highlighted on the screen. Everyone in the room made a mental note that the number was recognizable as the advertised number for Fentonworks.
"The police will continue to investigate further but any information will definitely aid in the search for the missing teenager so don't forget to keep your eyes open when walking the streets this upcoming week. I'm Tiffany Snow, and we'll be back after this short break."
The news station's logo flew across the screen as their theme music briefly played before cutting to commercials about dog treats and antidepressants. As the commercials played on, the people sitting around the room looked around at each other shocked.
"Don't you kids go to school with that Fenton kid?" Mr. Baxter turned to ask the teens gathered on the other side of the room, sitting around a coffee table with their homework spread out in front of them.
"Dash, why didn't you say something about this when you came home from school today?" Mrs. Baxter questioned her son with a stern look in her eyes.
Dash shared a confused look with Kwan, Paulina, and Star before turning back to answer his parents. "We didn't know," he resonded simply.
"I thought Manson and Foley said that he was sick or something," Paulina said. "Do you think they just didn't know?"
"Of course they knew!" Kwan exclaimed. "They said it happened, like, three days ago or something. Those three are always together, they had to have known."
The A-listers became quiet again as they all thought about that. Why did the losers lie to them about Danny being sick? Mr. and Mrs. Baxter shrugged off the odd behavior the teens were expressing and returned to watching the television as the news came back on and started discussing the importance of recycling to help save the environment.
Dash quickly led the other A-listers upstairs to his room after that where they continued to discuss the loser trio of the school and the situation with Danny's disappearance. Without the interference of parents, homework completely forgotten on the coffee table. Tomorrow they would confront Sam and Tucker and find exactly what was going on.
Hope you enjoyed. So I totally took a different approach to this chapter to try and confuse you in the beginning and I think this actually sets up the further progression of the story rather nicely. Curious though, how many of you actually figured out that this chapter didn't start in the home of the Fentons before I revealed the names of the characters?
Sorry I told you it wouldn't take me so long this time to update. But honestly, who out there actually believed me? I haven't decided yet where we will be going next chapter. Probably back to Vegas to see what the Danny Duo is up to. As always though, no promises, my Muse is unpredictable.

Chapter Writing Rant: Damn it, damn it, damn it all to hell! Timeline issues! I can't believe I was so stupid! I was re-reading earlier chapters as I was typing this one to make things fit correctly and realized that I totally skipped a day of the weekend before the Amity Crew went back to school, because Danny left Friday night, the note was found the next day(Saturday), and the day after, they were heading back to school. I can't believe I did that! So sorry. Even though I don't think anyone noticed since nobody commented on my horrible mistake.
