So I just found out that Kyou is a girl's name in Japanese. Oops. But in this story he will continue being a dude. And I know it's kind of rushing them into liking each other but isn't that how it happens when you have a crush? I dunno but it'll be awhile til they actually get together ;)

Chapter 6: Aang

God, I really embarrassed myself back there. Lucky I was able to save it by pretending to be cheeky. I can still feel my face burning though, so I blasted a gust of cold wind on my cheeks. Ugh, I really should've listened to Sokka when he was telling me how to get a girl.

I yawned. It's been a long day, running back and forth to find her. I didn't exactly come here because the gang asked me to, but I guess i was doing it for Zuko as well as myself. I went into one of the closets and grabbed a blanket. Might as well make the most of tonight. Uh, what did I say. I didn't mean it like that, i just meant resting.

There was a small tug at the back of my head reminding me about Katara. Sure I still like her, but she's always been a motherly kind of girlfriend. She never broke the rules, always a good girl. I guess I just wanted someone more adventurous, more of a rebel.. I've liked Katara for the longest time, but now Azula comes in… She's scary, and kinda crazy, but for some reason I feel like there's a nice, sweet side that no one's ever seen before. Surely no one can be 100% evil. And it wasn't like Katara and I have been close these days. She's always with Zuko and stuff…

With a sigh, I walked back towards the room. There's no point wondering about that stuff, might as well let time do what it does. Azula was already asleep, her small frame draped with sheets, and her chest rose up and down.

Am I being a creep?

I laid down on the floor, and closed my eyes, but the image of her on the bed was still in my head. Then the wear of the day settled down on me, and sleep washed over.

Zuko (Earlier in the day):

Aang's been gone for 2 days. Two. Honestly I don't understand why he wants to go look for Azula. I'd just let her be. My mental sister will probably blow him into bits. And Katara's here, not that she seems upset or anything.

"He needs to stop being a kid and start being the Avatar," She snorted "Can't help everyone, only the main cause should be helped."

Honestly, sometimes I don't know if she's his mother or his girlfriend.

Then again that's not my problem.

If I didn't have a crush on her.

I don't even know why I like her! She's so obnoxious and bossy and annoying but yet I'm attracted to her. I guess it was since that day in the cave, when I told her all that stuff. She's just easy to talk to and good with kids and god I don't know just good person in general. But I have Mai and she's like destined for me… So I guess she's not my type but I won't deny the attraction.

I blame it on all the ships in your world, reader.

Anyways, she seems perfectly fine with Aang away, occupying herself with Kyou. They weren't kidding about him looking like me and Azula. It was like he's our twin or something.

"Good morning everyone." Sokka yawned, crawling out of his small tent. "Is Aang back yet?" He plopped down next to Toph, scratching his head.

"It's afternoon." Toph punched his shoulder

"Nope." Katara answered him across the clearing, making some kind of food with Kyou by her side. "He's probably enjoying his time out there, shoving his face with food and getting girls."

"Getting Azula, you mean." Toph laughed. "What if they fall in love~~ aren't you worried Sugar Queen?"

"Nah," She said nonchalantly "I doubt he'll go for Azula."

I winced. Alright, so Azula wasn't exactly girlfriend material, but does she really have to point it out like that?

"Don't gotta be a beyotch," Toph snorted "You never know, maybe she has something you don't."

"Doubt it."

And then that awkward conversation came to an end. I'm glad it didn't go any further, who knows what would've been said. I certainly do not want to get in.

Toph snorted and muttered "Watch him actually fall for her."

Katara didn't seem to hear her, if she did then she hid her fury well, while Sokka elbowed Toph in the ribs, which got him a drop into a quite deep hole.

"Well Zuzu," Toph's sightless eyes trained on me, and for a moment it was almost like she could see. "Where are we going now? Azula's obviously not going to turn up."

"I don't know, we should just stick to the original plan. I mean, we don't have a choice." She nodded, no objection at all.

"Well Hiraa's' about half a day away," Sokka looked at his map "So we'll make it there by nightfall, which means tomorrow morning we can get information on Zuko's mama."

"Alright, then let's get going after lunch," I stretched "What's for lunch anyways?"

"Stew," Katara said "Don't know what kind of meat though, Sokka got it last night."

"Ew," Toph stuck her tongue out "I'm so not eating that."

"More for me!" Sokka rebutted. Those two were like an old married couple.

Katara ladled out the stew, the strange meat floating on top. "Ick, is that even edible?"

I took a bite. It was spicy and fragrant like most Fire Nation foods, but the strange substance she called meat was chewy and tasteless.

"I don't know what you guys are talking about it's totally delicious I mean it's so good I can eat it for forever." Sokka rambled while shoving food into his obnoxiously big mouth

"Shut up, don't talk with your mouth full that's nasty." Toph stomped her foot, and dirt flew into Sokka's mouth.

"Blehh!" He spat the dirt and the stew in his mouth on the ground "What's wrong with you! Why can't you play nice and be pretty like other little girls."

"Then go hang with them other girls!" Toph yelled and ran off, concealing herself in a tent made of slabs of earth.

"Er," He looked at me with a shocked look on his face "What'd I do."

"Maybe you should listen to your own advice sometimes, bro." I chuckled. Obviously Sokka can't tell that Toph likes him more than a friend, but he's dense like that.

"Whatever." He picked his nose "She's just having a hissy fit."

"I AM NOT!" Toph shouted from her little tent. The ground shook.

"Stop making her mad," Katara snorted "You act like a total ladies man but you can't even handle Toph."

"Not like she's a lady." He muttered under his breath

No one heard except for me. I sighed, this trip is turning out to be much more than just a journey to find my mother.

"Well if everyone's done, lets get going." I ran my hand through my hair. Better than being in this awkward atmosphere.

"One sec, I'm gonna go change." Katara yawned "Come along Kyou, let's get you freshened up too."

The little boy followed her towards the trees, his golden gaze on me. I shuddered inwardly. Why was he giving me such a bad feeling? He hasn't talked one single bit since that day I found him, yet his looks and eyes seemed to send me a strong message, one that I can't decipher.

"AH!" A scream came from the direction where they went. Katara's voice, obviously. Without a single thought, I sprinted towards her scream.

"What!" I ran towards the pair of them, then stopped in my tracks. Her top was bare, no trace of clothing on. Face red, I turned my back around.

"There was a snake!" She wailed. The fact that I was there and her top was bare didn't seem to concern her.

"Just blast it with water next time you see it." I muttered awkwardly, shaking my head to rid the image of her bare torso. But it was hopeless, it was seemingly burned into my head. The way her hair rippled down to the small of her back, her smooth chocolate colored skin, the perfect curves of her shoulder and back… God what the hell am I thinking!

"Hurry up, we're all waiting for you." I said gruffly as I stalked away, my face still burning. Kyou wasn't smiling, but I could tell he was laughing inside. Damn, this kid was good at hiding stuff. I wonder what else he's hiding…

Maybe I'm just thinking too much.

I helped Sokka and Toph gather our things onto Appa's saddle. Those two were chatting and joking around like old pals again. I grinned and shook my head. They were the perfect duo.

"We're ready! Sorry it took so long!" Katara appeared with Kyou, her face flushed. I wonder what for.

"Why are you so red?" Sokka jeered

"Oh nothing," She turned even redder "Just from the running I suppose."

Nah, probably cause she found out that I saw her pretty much naked.

"Well, lets get going," I announced, not wanting to dwell on the subject any longer or turn red again. "We don't have all day."

"Aye aye, captain!" Sokka jumped onto Appa's head while the rest of us settled on the saddle.

"I wanna say it this time!" Toph jumped on him

"No, no." He waved her back, "You're too young, watch and learn."

"Yip yip Appa!" Toph yelled anyways. With a grunt Appa lifted himself up to the skies.

"Goddang it!" Sokka frowned "It's my job!"

"Too bad."

The two continued to shout at each other while I stared off into the distance. I had to find Mom, but what if she's forgotten about me already? What if Kyou is my brother? So many what ifs, but how many of them will be true?

As usual, please R&R. Thank you for reading!
