A/N: Sorry for how long it took me to update! I haven't had much time to write for this story, but I really want to continue this story and get it moving. Here is a long overdue update, guys!

Bubbles was invisible. Invisible to the world as life continued on without her. The rain continued to pour, the people continued to walk and scurry on the streets past her, and animals ran by her.

Her presence was ignored and unacknowledged, and while it would bother most girls her age, it didn't bother her.

It was a constant thing nowadays, not being noticed and staying out of sight. Bubbles wasn't seen nor heard and a few years ago it would've been one of the worst feelings in the world. Now… Not so much.

The rain began to give the young girl shivers and she knew if she got sick again because she stayed out too late, she'd get in trouble with Sara.

Bubbles felt her phone buzz just as she began to get up and let out a little huff. It was Sara Bellum herself, probably calling to tell the blonde that she had to get home soon or else.

Sara had taken Bubbles and her sisters in when the Professor left town when they were fourteen and she's taken care of Bubbles ever since.

Bubbles declined the call, despite knowing Sara was going to be absolutely pissed that Bubbles ignored her call, and began to walk home. Sara had relocated to Townsville and lived in a penthouse uptown.

It was going to be a long walk from the small, dingy park she was at to Sara's penthouse, but Bubbles didn't really have another option.

Bubbles watched as people gathered in front of alleys and clubs, trying to get one last night out before the long week ahead.

Sara would kill her if she found out the girl still hung around here, especially after what happened last time…

The rain was lightening up and left a murky after rain smell. Bubbles inhaled the scent as she walked quickly and quietly.

As soon as she turned a corner, she bumped into a large figure.

"Watch it!" The figure, a boy, snapped. His breath reeked of alcohol and Bubbles looked up to lock eyes with clouded green ones. The boy had messy black hair and for a moment she thought of her long gone sister.

She felt her stomach tighten and she took a deep breath.

Don't think about it. You just spent an hour crying over it, now suck it up.

Bubbles shut off that part of her mind while another part of her mind reacted to the boy in front of her.

"Butch Jojo." She found herself saying.

Bubbles memorized every one of Buttercup's features and one of her favorite things about her sister was how her green eyes always reflected her emotions.

Butch was similar. He was always quite a fidgety boy who didn't speak all that much, but his eyes were usually animated and perhaps even livelier than his brother Boomer's.

Butch was taken aback and for a moment he didn't look so drunk and out of it.

"Who wants to know?" He sized the strange girl up, not exactly knowing who she was but knowing he had to be ready for anything. Even if he was drunk and the girl didn't look very threatening.

"I do." Bubbles said calmly. She wasn't scared. She should've been, oh she knew that she should've been scared shitless. But Bubbles was done with being frightened of anything and everything.

Butch twitched, sobering up to the blonde girl. "Excuse me? Who the fuck are you?"

"Bubbles." She said simply, daring to look him in the eye.

Butch's tough exterior swayed as he realized the girl in front of him was truly the girl he and his brothers used to fight. Butch hesitated as he looked at 'Bubbles'.

Sure she was blonde, blue eyed, and had the same facial structure as Bubbles had last time he saw her- which was four, five years ago- but she didn't seem like the Bubbles he was familiar with.

This Bubbles wasn't as shy, energetic and easily intimidated as he remembered.

But then again, people change.

"Bubbles Utonium? Powerpuff Girl?"

Bubbles' plain expression shifted as her mouth twitched into a slight frown and her forehead creased slightly.

"Bubbles."

The girl felt a twitch of anger as the boy refused to stop saying Utonium.

The boy, however drunk, found type of amusement as he watched the girl slowly redden as he continued to call her Utonium.

"So, Utonium-" He smirked sloppily for the umpteenth time, and Bubbles glowered.

"Listen, Butch, if you don't stop calling me Utonium, I'm gonna make you regret it."

"Fine," Butch said, slightly nervous as he recalled Bubbles' strength when angered. He began to walk away, but turned around cockily as he grinned. "Utonium."

Bubbles narrowed her eyes as she felt a rush go through her. In a matter of seconds she was tackling him to the ground effortlessly and kicking his leg. Hard.

"I told you to shut up." Bubbles growled, shoving her hands in her pockets and walking away.

Butch got up, angry and even a little dumbfounded. He didn't like being beaten. Especially not by someone weaker than him.

Butch got up, a little scratched but otherwise not hurt.

"You're gonna regret that, Utonium."

A/N: There you go! The first "official" chapter I guess, and they meet! Not on the best of terms, but let's see what happens next. I'll try my best to make up for the lack of updates, but hopefully I won't be so busy. Anyways, review, follow, favorite, and see you next update!
