Butch was lost.
He was lost in the huge house- scratch that- mansion, and the crowd of people was giving him a migraine. The smell of alcohol was a bother, especially since he wasn't drunk enough to be able to ignore it.
The Gangrene Gang had immediately split up to find some goods while Boomer led Butch to the backyard, where most of the people were. It was perfect to pick some pockets.
But it was also perfect for the two to be separated by a mosh pit of people.
Not wanting to be pushed into the pool like a few unlucky partygoers, Butch made his way back towards the house to find his way towards the front yard.
From that point, he pushed past the crowd and navigated through the huge house to be reunited with fresh air. Unfortunately, it wasn't as easy as it sounded. It was impossible to tell which doors led to bathrooms or kitchens because they were all identical. People flooded all rooms on the first floor and each room reeked of sweat, alcohol, and drugs.
Butch walked aimlessly through the house, until a brunette girl crashed into him. As soon as her eyes made contact with his, they widened and soon Butch had puke all over his jacket. Along with a passed out girl by his feet.
He heard a screech and through the crowd, a redhead emerged. Butch felt his pulse race as he realized who it was.
"Butch, is that you?"
As he stepped out, a sharp wind blew past him and he shuddered slightly. He really shouldn't have given his jacket to the drunk girl. What was her name again?
"Butch, is that you?" Princess Morbucks stood, her appearance similar to the Princess he used to party with. This time the makeup wasn't as smeared and trashy as he remembered. Looks like some habits never break.
Butch stared at her. "This your friend?"
Princess' brown eyes widened and quickly went towards the floor, scanning her friend. "Oh god, Robin... Robin are you ok?"
Ah yes, Robin the drunk friend of both the Powerpuff Girls and Princess Morbucks. Well that has got to drive a wedge between the Puffs and their neighbor. Not that he really cared. Although the Powerpuff Girls may have been at the exact same party... but then again they were too good to be at such a wild party. If Princess was there, it was wild. And the Powerpuff Girls weren't wild.
This night had left him in a worse mood than he started with and he just wanted to let darkness overcome him in a deep sleep. After all, running into Princess and talking to her was something Butch never wanted to do after what happened with them...
It hadn't even been five minutes after their unfortunate encounter and Butch was already trying to block out the events in his mind. Speaking of time, Butch looked at the time on his phone and he cursed. It was 10:47 which meant Brick was home, explaining the 17 missed calls from the redhead.
Fighting his better judgement, Butch shoved his phone in his pocket and began walking aimlessly.
He recognized his surroundings as suburban Townsville and his mind went back to Bubbles.
But this time, anger didn't flow through his veins like they did earlier. Curiosity struck him as he thought about the girl with a fully sober mind.
He wasn't going to say that he never thought about the Powerpuff Girls ever since he got out of juvy, because that would be a lie. He did wonder what happen to them, but he heard lots of rumors through the first few months about them leaving town, leading normal lives or even just plain disappearing so he dismissed the idea of the Powerpuff Girls. They were his past and the past held too many dark thoughts for him.
Butch didn't think about Bubbles at all, except for the times Boomer would reminiscent about her in the first few weeks of release. Now she was the only thing racing through his mind, and he knew he wouldn't be able to satisfy his thoughts without seeing her or more specifically, beating her.
And maybe getting a few answers out of her.
He was tempted to track down the familiar Utonium household, but he couldn't remember the address.
He began crossing the street when a torn down building caught his eye. The building wasn't completely torn down, but it looked like it was diagonally blown apart, with the ground around it a murky mix of dead grass and dirt. The building was tattered and it looked like it was once a shining white and red, but now the red was now a dusty red orange and the white was a peeling gray.
Butch was drawn to the house and he shook off the déjà vu, walking towards the eerie house.
He was soon at the front yard, staring up at it.
His phone began to vibrate and butch muttered a curse as he immediately fished it out of his pocket. Before he could answer or decline, it was thrown out of his hand as he fell to the ground.
Before he could comprehend what was going on, a blur of blonde and gray ran out of his peripheral vision.
Butch whipped his head towards it and widened his eyes as he realized who it was.
Butch jumped up to his feet and ran in the direction of the figure, stumbling as his vision blurred.
Bubbles was far ahead of him and he was barely catching up, even with Chemical X pumping through his blood.
Bubbles turned a corner and Butch flew into the air, hopping over a fence onto a house to get a better view. He managed to catch a glimpse of Bubbles and was considerably closer.
Butch jumped down from the house and was steps behind the girl, when a sudden turn caused his face to high five a street lamp.
Needless to say, Butch staggered back and fell backwards, hitting his head on the pavement.
And then he was out cold.
A/N: Guess who decided to update while she was supposed to be studying. Me! My writer's block kinda unblocked so I decided to type it out and it went well. Especially since Bad Habit by The Kooks was playing. Needless to say, the song's title was my main inspiration to find a way to burst through the writer's block and get on with the story so here I am.
Anyways, hopefully I'll update again soon anD ace my term exams. (( fat chance but a girl can dream right ))
As usual, it would be amazing if you guys could tell me what you think of the story so far by reviewing or PMing me or following/favoriting!
P.S. Happy Election Day
** Also note: Half of this was written on my phone and I didn't proofread it so there may be a few errors. Sorry!
