Vows to you
24: Promise
Kei gritted his teeth, glaring intensely at the board results in his tablet as if it will magically change the results. He thought he had finally found a solution to his predicament but unfortunately, someone out there loves (or hates) him too much to see his plan become successful.
"Hey Takishima" he immediately got up on his feet to greet the stunning ravenette. He was waiting outside the locker room after their practice like the doting boyfriend he is. Especially if he wants to make sure that Hikari wouldn't overstrain herself again unlike during the first half of the games.
With his tablet tucked in one arm, he used the other to snake around her waist and steer her away from her teammates. He never liked them again when he saw most of the males staring at her drenched form after their practice for swimming.
He was pleased to find them jealous and terrified after his not-so-subtle possessiveness over his girlfriend. Hikari is his. However, as their relationship passed over days, months, and years- now that they've hit the fifth year mark- he can't help but grow anxious.
Kei doesn't want Hikari his girlfriend anymore.
Kei wants- no…
Kei Takishima wants Hikari Hanazono to be his beloved wife!
It all seems very immature, childish, and very selfish for his part but he can't help it. He knew he's still at the young age of twenty-one and Hikari- twenty, but he's growing tired of all the attention Hikari's been receiving from the opposite sex besides him. The moment his beautiful girlfriend turned eighteen, her beauty as a woman bloomed more and more with each passing year. As much as loves falling all over again, he unfortunately wasn't the only one who noticed her blooming.
Besides, in his world, marriage at a young age isn't uncommon. If they get married, the whole world will finally back off and recognize that she belongs to him and him alone. Yes, that is very acceptable.
"So how did yours go? I'm sorry I couldn't make it. I had the weightlifting competition on the same time too"
"It's okay, Hikari" he squeezed her hip, careful not to touch her ticklish spot. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to see your win"
"How'd you know I won?" she beamed excitedly.
"Because you're Hikari. The only one allowed to beat you is me" he smiled charmingly, earning a cute pout from the ravenette as she crossed her arms.
"Laugh all you want but I'll be sure to win our match this time!" she pumped her fist in the air.
'I hope so' and Kei really, really hopes so. As much as he wanted to kiss Hikari in front of the altar with all their friends and family watching, he still has that promise he has to keep. And as much as he wants it, he knew that Hikari will never forgive him if he let her win. Kei wouldn't dare do anything that'll cost his relationship with the ravenette.
Kei desperately hopes that Hikari will win in this match.
As surprising as it sounds, they were scouted to be become representatives in the Japanese team for the Olympics. After they saw their prowess, they included them on almost every competition. But of course, being Hikari, she saw this as an opportunity for another match. And just like the previous ones, whoever gets the most medals (preferably gold), is the winner. Of course, if Hikari wins, then they can finally get married but (grudgingly) if Kei wins, he'll have to give Hikari a command.
Since he couldn't purposely fail, Kei sought the opportunity to lose in the competitions that he was grouped with other people. Lowly and selfishly, but he'll pull any string for any opportunity to see Hikari in a white wedding dress. Unfortunately, however…
"So you won the synchronized swimming competition? That's… that's… amazing!"
Kei smiled outwardly but deep inside he can't help but curse his partner during that competition. Team competitions need to have every party member to do their best and Kei would be lying if he says that he didn't wish his own teammates to make a mistake. Just enough that they'll win a silver or bronze medal, and he wouldn't give a damn if they're representing Japan itself. His entire future and happiness is at stake here!
"Just you wait, Takishima! If we win tomorrow's basketball and get a gold medal, then I'll win!" she exclaimed excitedly.
'Please don't say if' he says inwardly but instead says, "We'll see"
Looks like he'll be praying to every god he knows tonight.
He's very, very, very proud of Hikari. He made sure to watch all of her matches, live or by record, and give her his utmost support. He loves seeing her wipe the floor against all her opponents but what matters most is that Hikari is happy.
A happy Hikari is a happy Kei.
As for the ravenette however, she didn't expect nothing less from her long time rival and boyfriend. She made sure to watch all the matches she can catch up on. Seeing him play and win makes her happy of course, but it makes her happier knowing that he's having fun. She watched him make the last minute kick for Japan's football team, and though she didn't make it to see him at his basketball match, she heard people talking the formidable , blonde, one-man-team player in team Japan that didn't give the opposing teams (or even his own team) a chance to touch the ball.
Well, she did see the Guinness World Record Award for having the longest shot in all basketball history (from the other end of the court). Ahhh… she's having fun herself. It's the most physical activity she had ever since they started college to focus more on their academic courses.
If only she knew the struggle Kei's been facing.

"Next time, I'll win for sure!" Hikari declared enthusiastically and Kei could only look back with a twitching eye.
They lost.
Not particulary. They won the silver medal though…
But it's still a loss…
Inside him, his demon half kept on yelling at him to go and strangle the referees that oversaw the women's basketball and force him to take back the penalties he gave Hikari's team. Of course, he wouldn't do it… not really.
He also has to deal with the Olympic committee. After the games, as praise-worthy (and otherworldly impossible) as their victories can be, in the end, the got banned of joining the games ever again.
"Weren't they the ones who asked us to join in the first place?" Kei couldn't help but agree with her when the announcement came out and the committee told them that they were banned.
The blonde didn't really care. He joined only because Hikari said she was competing in the first place. But he had to pull some strings to make sure they won't say anything unnecessary like they're genetically altered super humans of the future in those nonsense conspiracies. He's still very pissed when they had to take a drug test three times to make sure they weren't cheating. Apparently, the committee received a lot of complaints and saw the unfairness in this year's games with the other nations and also their own team members. Plus, they said that their easy wins made it all boring.
"They should have thought of that before they even thought of inviting us" he groaned before turning off the TV.
"Well, at least it was fun" she smiled, "You had fun too, right Takishima?"
Kei smiled, instantly warming at her smile. Wordlessly, he picks her up before casually laying himself on his bed with her straddling above him. She instantly blushed as she tried to break free but Kei held her thighs tightly.
"Since I won, I believe you have to do what I command, Hikari" he watched her blush harder as he rubbed his thumbs over the bare skin.
"W-w-what is it then?" she huffed, failing epically to compose herself.
"You have to…" he drawled, teasingly. Pausing for a few moments before Hikari could become totally irritated. "You have to promise me that you will never marry anyone else besides me"
"I-I-Idiot! Who do you think you are?! Just w-w-what are you saying?!"
"Ho? Do you disapprove, Hikari?" he purposely rolled her named over his tongue. Smirking triumphantly when she stopped struggling and look away from him.
She looks so adorable.
"I-I-It's not that. I lost so I have to keep my word" he lets his smirk fall, sighing contently. "I-I-It's just that…"
"Hm?"
"You c-c-could've thought of a b-better command" he feels himself freeze the moment she looked back at him, her eyes shining, face blushing, body fidgeting, and with an entire aura of nervousness and innocence.
"How can you make me promise that, i-i-if I wanted us to always be together, Kei?"
Kei wondered if he could point this as a loss.
To exclusivestreetflow: Sorry, I had to make a lot of adjustments. But I hope I made it fluffy enough for your tastes. Thank you for your patience.
