**FLASHBACK**
As soon as Olivia left to go downstairs Elliot turned to Casey.
"Case, I need your advice on something really important."
"Okay? Shoot!"
"So I sort of proposed to Olivia-"
"WHAT! WHEN!"
"It was one of our first nights and it was sort of an in the moment thing, she said yes but I didn't do the whole get down on one knee thing and I know she deserves that. I love her so much Casey. I need to do this right, and since you're her best friend I was hoping you and Alex could help me do it right you know?"
"Oh my God Elliot I'd love to!" Casey jumped up from her spot and wrapped her arms around his neck; since she was much shorter than him her head only met his chest.
After Elliot and Casey broke the embrace Elliot returned to grilling and Casey went back to the blender to make the rest of the drinks for the night. Elliot smiled thinking of Olivia in a white wedding dress promising to be his and his alone.
"Speaking of Liv, where is she?" Casey asked concerned.
"I don't know, it shouldn't take that long to make the salad and get the baked potatoes from the oven."
"I bet she got side tracked or Alex is talking her ear off about how gross anal is."
Elliot's eyes widened, "What?"
"Oh yea, Olivia told us, Alex tried to talk her out of it but Olivia said she trusts you with everything and she loves you, and I quote, 'more than anything' and that pretty much shut Alex up."
"Liv said that?" Elliot smiled, not just because of what was happening tonight but the fact that Olivia stood up to her best friend and confessed how much she loved him to her.
"Yea she also reminded Alex how close she was to 'jumping off that cliff' when you were gone so Alex couldn't really say much to that."
"Casey, was it really that bad?" His voice was a mixture of emotions.
"Yea, she finally told me after I found her passed out on her kitchen floor with a bottle of wine and her gun next to her that she sat there for three hours starring at it wondering how bad it would really be if she were to just pull the trigger. When I took her to Huang's office he said she told him if you all had been more than friends and that happened she would have done it."
"Oh my God, Casey, if I had known I never would have left. I swear, I thought I was doing her a favor and not bringing her into how messed up my life was, I never thought that me cutting her out would leave her like that."
"Yea I know Stabler, but don't let it happen again!"
Just then the sound of a boat engine interrupted their conversation. They caught each other's glance and ran to the side of the top deck just in time to see Olivia throw the boat in drive and tear out of the cove. Elliot took off running downstairs to find Alex and Munch on the front deck with a sad look in their eyes watching the boat disappear.
"Alex where the hell is she going? Why is she driving like that?"
"Oh like you don't know." Alex replied icily.
"What? What's that supposed to mean?" Elliot replied confused.
Alex scoffed and stormed past Elliot and Casey and headed straight for her bedroom.
On the bow of the boat Fin emerged from the kitchen, "What the hell was all that about? Where did Liv go?"
Munch stood there as they all looked at him for an explanation.
"Casey, Elliot can I speak to you both inside?" Munch requested lightly.
"What the hell man why am I not going? What the hell is going on?" Fin argued getting more and more frustrated.
"Munch! Just fucking spill it! Where the hell is Olivia going?" Elliot yelled getting angrier and angrier.
"I don't know." He replied somberly.
"What do you mean you don't know? Does Alex?"
"No she said she'd call Alex once she found somewhere to stay."
"Stay? What do you mean stay? Why isn't she staying here?"
John just looked at his shoes tried to avoid the inevitable.
"JOHN WHY THE FUCK DID SHE LEAVE?"
John huffed, "Alex and I were sitting on the back of the boat talking and Olivia came out nearly in tears and just told Alex she 'needed her'." Fifteen minutes later Alex came out and told me she saw something."
"What? Saw what? What happened?" Elliot interrupted.
John looked at Fin with a sad look in his eyes, "She said she saw you and Casey kissing."
Fin's eyes turned from shock to hurt to anger in all of two seconds.
"YOU DID WHAT STABLER?" Fin turned and lunged at him. He had Elliot on the ground and got a few good hits in busting his lip. Elliot, being stronger pinned Fin not too long after. Casey was sobbing and Munch was trying his best to get the two to break up.
Alex, upon hearing the commotion, came rushing out of the house, "Stop it both of you! Sit down and figure this out like adults! Olivia is gone and Fin will be following soon if you two don't explain yourselves." Alex gestured to a sobbing Casey and a bleeding Elliot.
"Casey and I never kissed." Alex, Munch, and Fin did not seem to be buying it.
"I don't know what Olivia thinks she saw but I hugged Elliot when he told me he was planning on proposing to Olivia." Casey got out between sobs.
"Olivia told me she saw your arms around his neck and Elliot leaning his head down."
"Because we were hugging!" Elliot yelled, "I love Olivia and I would never cheat on her, and as much as we fight Fin I would never do that to you either. Now Alex where is she, if she thinks I've cheated on her she might do something stupid and- and-" Elliot couldn't finish his thought as the realization dawned on him that this was a very real possibility.
"She was going to look up some old friend who lives out here and stay with him until she decides what to do."
"What- where- oh god Liv- please don't do anything stupid." His eyes welled up with tears as he broke down in his hands and began sobbing.
Casey looked from Elliot to Fin who was bruised and bloodied.
"Fin, I swear… I would never cheat on you I love you. I hugged him because he was going to propose not because of anything else and I sure as hell didn't kiss him."
"Case…" Fin began but then just ran over and hugged her as they both let a few tears slide.
Once a good distance away from their cove Olivia pulled into a separate cove and pulled out her cell phone. Grabbing the old directory she called her once boyfriend now fishing boat owner Greg.
The phone rang for all of thirty seconds before he answered.
"Hello?"
"Greg?"
"Yes, who is this?"
"Hey, it's Olivia, Olivia Benson."
"Olivia! Oh my gosh it's so great to hear from you after all these years! Where have you been?"
"Oh here and there, listen I'm down here with my friends and some shit just went down and I can't go back there and I know its super inconvenient and it was a long shot but-"
"Livvy come here. I'm in the second cove from the Open Sea marina. My boat's name is pretty obvious so once you get here just tie up."
"Thank you Greg. I'll see you soon."
"Okay Livvy."
The phone disconnected and Olivia looked up the directions.
Within thirty minutes she arrived at the cove she was told to go to. There were three boats there and she wasn't sure which one he was on. Just as she was about to call him, she saw one of the boat's names, "The Olivia Marie".
She knew that was his. He always used to tell her when he owned his own boat he'd name it after his first true love, her.
As she pulled up next to it he came out, with a huge smile on his face, "Olivia! Welcome! I'm so glad I get to see you again! What do you think of my boat?" He smiled the smile she remembered loving and laughed.
"Well, it sure does remind me of someone!" he laughed and pulled her on board immediately embracing her.
"Come in Come in! Would you care for anything to drink?"
"Um a glass of wine would be amazing if you have it."
"Red or white?"
"Red please."
"Not that I'm not glad to see you but why did you happen to come?"
"It's a really long story…"
He sat down on the end chair near her and handed her the wine, "I've got time."
An hour later after telling Greg the whole story she sighed and looked down at her feet.
"Damn Livvy, I am so sorry this all happened to you… You deserve better."
Olivia looked up, her eyes red from crying, "No I deserve Elliot. I just don't understand why this happened like it did… there was no precursor and there is no explaining it away… I don't know I just can't shake that image from my mind and I keep trying to figure out what I did to make him do that-"
"Livvy, YOU didn't do anything. It was his fault for doing this to you, not yours. Do not think for a second that it was your fault. Do you understand?"
She shrugged, "Olivia, NONE of this is your fault okay?" Finally Greg got a slight nod and smile. "Okay good. Now does anyone know where you are? I know he's probably freaking out right now, and from what you've told me he's not going to back down that easily and I'd rather not have him busting into my boat with the whole NYPD squad."
Olivia laughed thinking of that, "No, I told Alex I'd call her and let her know that I'm safe, I'd better go do that now." Olivia reached down into her purse and grabbed her phone. Unlocking it she saw the 45 missed calls and text messages.
"Why the hell isn't she answering her fucking phone! What if she did something to herself?" Elliot continued panicking as he slammed his phone down on the counter next to him.
"Elliot, she said she'd call me, and she will. If she doesn't call in the next hour we can call the police but blowing up her phone is not going to do anything but make her angry. You know how stubborn Liv can be."
"Alex, you don't understand. She thinks I CHEATED on her. She told me she thought about eating her gun when I left her life for a few months and we weren't even dating and she hadn't admitted she loved me! If she would do it then, then she is about 50 times more likely to do it now!"
Casey, her eyes still wet with tears added, "Does she have her gun? Like did she bring it with her?"
Elliot's eyes widened, "She brought it on the trip, it was in our room. I'll go see." He rushed down the hall and threw open their bedroom door to find everything gone. His things were just as he'd left them yet everything of hers was gone, he looked in the bathroom, and all her wet swimsuits that had been hanging on the shower door were gone along with her makeup and toothbrush. He turned towards the bed to find a silk black nighty with a lacy see through bra on the bed and something hidden behind the pillows. Upon further inspection it was a bag from the drug store, inside condoms, lube, and a note:
"El I got these because I loved you and would have done anything for you, this was going to be our special night where we lost a different virginity to each other. Now that night will never happen and I'm sorry for that. But I'm not sorry for loving you. I don't know what I did to cause this but now that it's happened I will not bother to come back. I hope you have a happy fulfilling life Elliot. Take care of everything for me.
-Olivia"
Tears began streaming down Elliot's face upon reading this note. This sounded an awful like a suicide note, and that's when Elliot remembered his real task at hand. His eyes searched the surfaces around him then he began rummaging through all the drawers that once held her clothes and were now stripped bare.
Elliot wandered out to the living room note clutched close to his heart and the absence of her gun let everyone know what he was thinking.
Just then a ringing broke everyone apart.
"Hello?" Alex asked.
A/N I hope y'all liked it! I know I know I'm terrible. Let me know what you want to happen! I'm hopefully going to be writing a bit more than I was there for a while! Hope everyone is still interested! Love yall!
