Hey all! I am so so sorry for the long wait! I got writers block, but now I'm back. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter!
I would like to thank Mafalda for being an awesome beta!
When the guys didn't say anything, Caroline shrugged and flipped her hair to the other side before she made her way forward, her hips swaying to and fro.
She spotted a couple of bottles of beer and a small smile crept onto her glossy lips.
The blonde could feel their eyes on her back and she knew immediately that she needed some alcohol in her system to get back into the groove of things. After all, back in Mystic Falls she was the life of the party with Katherine right by her side.
She pushed past a couple of them and once she had the glass bottle in her hand, she uncapped it and drank it. As the cool liquid was making its way down her esophagus, she could feel Klaus' eyes on her and she cleared her throat- thankfully she didn't choke.
"So... Are y'all going to just stand around here or are you going to host your party- oh my fault, your competition." Caroline corrected as she set the half-empty bottle on the table and crossed her arms over her chest, her eyes lit up with anger..
"I don't know who told you about it, but I recommend you tone it down a notch." Klaus told her as he came forward, his arms crossed over his chest. The Brit wasn't about to allow some girl take over his party and it didn't matter just how sexy she looked in her short red dress.
"Klaus, you asked Caroline to be your date?" Damon questioned as his hands clenched into fists and his eyebrows knit together furiously.
"Yeah, I did... So what?" He shrugged as he looked over at his fraternity brother challengingly and with annoyance.
"Caroline is off limits. I want you to remember that." The older Salvatore warned him and Stefan's forest-green eyes widened because he didn't think that his brother even cared about his best friend.
"I do appreciate this newfound attitude of yours, but don't try so hard- you may pull something." Caroline chimed in, a smirk on her lips. Damon Salvatore was as much to blame as the stupid football player that continued to make her insides feel fuzzy- as she stood there, she could feel the butterflies in her stomach and that wasn't going to help her much if she wanted to get back at him..
"I'm trying to keep you out of harms way, Blondie." Damon told her, huffing in annoyance. "I would think that you would be thankful." Damon added as he eyed her pointedly, his eyes serious. The Blondie that he knew and loved was back and he couldn't deny just how happy he was about it because what Tyler did was unforgivable and terrible.
"I don't need you protecting me, Salvatore. I can stand up for myself." The blonde snapped, irritation lacing her voice. She wasn't about to let some asshole that she knew from back home play her knight in shining armor. She wasn't some damsel in distress that needed her knight to ride with her off into the sunset.
"Can you? Can you really?" He questioned, genuinely curious.
"Yes." She nodded quickly, not bothering to dwell on that subject matter.
"I doubt that considering what happened back home."
"Drop it, Damon." Caroline ordered as she waved her hand in annoyance. "After all, this is a party and I recommend y'all start acting like it is."
"You're right, gorgeous." Enzo said before he turned on the music and grabbed Maggie. "This is a party and I recommend we treat it as such." He shrugged as he smiled at the brunette predatorily.
"Not gonna happen, sugar." Maggie shrugged before she pushed him away and made her way towards Stefan.
Stefan's forest-green eyes widened and she smiled at him reassuringly before she outstretched her hand for him to take.
"Dance with me, sexy." She flirted and the guy nodded in approval.
"As you wish, Maggie." He smiled before he twirled her around.
"Game on then," Enzo smirked as his eyebrows knit together challengingly.
Maggie winked in his direction and after that most of the others started dancing and drinking. Surprisingly, they were having fun which made Caroline happy. She spotted her 'date' leaning against the door frame with a pout on his full and luscious lips and she walked right over to him.
"Having fun, Killian?" She questioned, purposefully messing up his name.
"Oh, rest assured, love… This is not over." He told her as he leaned over to her.
The blonde could feel his breath on her cheek and she shivered, not being able to stop herself from doing so.
"You know when the party will really begin?" Klaus questioned as his eyes lit up with mischief.
"It already has." Caroline retorted as she tried to regain control over herself.
"No it hasn't, darling." He warned her. "The party will really begin when I get back at you for what you just pulled." Klaus added and with that he pushed past her and made his way to the stairs.
Katherine walked over to Caroline and she stood next to her before a smile appeared on her lips.
"Did you curse the fuck out of him?" The brunette wondered curiously.
"No, I did not." The blonde responded. "Now if you'll excuse me." She winked in her best friend's direction before she made her way towards the stairs.
Stefan spotted the blonde going upstairs and he huffed loudly. Maggie looked over at him with confusion in her dark eyes and he smiled at her reassuringly.
"I'll be right back." He reassured her and Maggie nodded before he walked away from her.
Enzo took Stefan's place and he placed his hands on her waist. The brunette looked up at him and he smiled at her innocently, but Maggie burst out laughing and reached for a cup of beer without bothering to say anything to him.
"Are you really going to drink without hearing me out?" Enzo wondered, genuinely curious.
"I have manners, Enzo." Maggie defended as she brought the cup to her lips even though she wanted to spill it on his head.
Caroline made her way to the second floor of the fraternity and she listened for a sound because she wanted to have a serious conversation with the football player that she couldn't get out of her head.
As she placed her hand on one of the door knobs, she felt a hand on her shoulder. When the blonde turned around, she came face to face with her best friend. She looked over at him with confusion in her bright blue eyes and he crossed his arms over his chest before he motioned towards his own bedroom.
Sighing, Caroline followed Stefan into his bedroom and once inside, she sat down on his bed and waited for him to speak.
"What are you doing up here?" He wondered, the curiosity evident in his voice.
"I wanted to talk to Klaus." The blonde shrugged as if it was nothing.
Stefan shook his head and he kneeled before her and took ahold of her hands. He needed to make sure that she wouldn't talk to Klaus because he knew that he would hurt her further.
"Care… Don't bother talking to him." He ordered. "It's not like anything he'll say will matter." Stefan added.
"Stefan, come on… I just want to have a little chat with him. I want to ask him why he went along with your brother's idea because he doesn't look like the type that follows- he looks like the type that leads." The blonde admitted because she knew that it was the truth.
"Who cares?" Stefan wondered. "It doesn't matter why he followed Damon; what matters is why he thought that he could ask you and get away with it."
"I guess you're right." Caroline sighed loudly before she stood up and nodded. "I won't talk to him, Stef…" She added, reassuring her best friend.
"Good," he smiled before he stood up himself and made his way to the door.
When the duo was back downstairs, Stefan made his way back to Maggie even though he wanted to ask Elena for a dance and Caroline made her way back to Katherine.
"Where were you?" The curly-haired brunette wondered as she bit into a chocolate-glazed donut.
"I was going to talk to Klaus, but Stefan kind of talked me out of it, so here I am." Caroline shrugged as she reached for a powdered donut.
"Klaus?" Katherine questioned. "Why would you even want to?"
"I don't know," she admitted because she honestly didn't know why she was looking for qualities in him that gave a hint that he could be redeemed after what he pulled.
"Whatever," Katherine shrugged before she took ahold of Caroline's hand and pulled her onto the dancefloor.
The girls danced together for about fifteen minutes and as soon as the last song ended, Klaus turned it off.
Both the guys and the girls looked over at him and he crossed his arms over his chest, his facial expression serious.
"Get the fuck out!" He ordered, his voice laced with irritation. He was done with that day and all he wanted to do was get into bed.
Caroline rolled her eyes in his direction and she made her way over to him, a smile plastered on her glossy lips.
"You don't look like the type to be a party pooper." Caroline told him and Klaus looked down at her annoyed.
"When I asked you out, I didn't think you were so sexy, but look where that got us." He responded, his voice low and emotionless.
Caroline felt her heart begin to race, but she quickly cleared her throat. She wasn't about to show that asshole that he made her all gooey inside.
No sir!
"Nice try, dickhead." The blonde smirked before she leaned into his ear and bit down on his earlobe seductively.
Klaus obviously wasn't expecting the blonde to do such a thing which was why he jumped back in surprise.
Caroline burst out laughing and she doubled over when she noticed his reaction.
Klaus's face reddened and he looked down at her with his eyes hard and dark.
"Get out," Klaus spat in her direction, the annoyance evident in her voice.
"Are you going to carry me out because I don't intend to leave. After all, in my eyes the party has really just begun ."
"Don't tempt me, love." He told her, a ghost of a smile appearing on his lips.
"Don't 'love' me, love." She retorted before she turned on her heel and tossed her hair to the other side, purposefully hitting him in the face.
She then walked over to the girls and began talking to them and didn't bother to pay any attention to the party pooper that happened to have one of the sexiest accents she has ever heard.
Klaus's eyes darkened and he walked into one of his frat brother's bedrooms. He smirked as he leveled his gaze on the three spiders that were kept in the tank.
With ease, he removed the lid and took out the spiders.
As he went back to where the party was taking place, he shut the lights and let the spiders go.
The people in the room started complaining and he leaned against a wall with a devilish smirk on his full lips.
"Oh my god!" Maggie shouted as she felt something crawl up her leg.
"What is it?" Enzo wondered, the confusion evident in his voice.
"There are two more spiders on the loose." Klaus announced to them all.
Caroline swore under her breath because she had a fear of spiders and Klaus could tell that the blonde was tense.
Good, he thought.
As he turned on the lights, they were all looking at the floor and Caroline shut her eyes when she saw a hairy spider approaching her.
"You want us out of here?" Caroline shouted, her voice annoyed. "Fine!" She added.
"It's been nice." Klaus called out to her.
"Likewise," she hissed, her voice laced with venom.
She then gathered what was hers and made her way over to the door and the other girls followed because their party mood had disappeared completely.
Fucking asshole, they all thought.
Enzo walked over to Maggie and he picked up the spider.
"Is it yours?" The brunette asked.
"Mhm," he nodded. "It looks like he likes you which can only mean one thing..."
"What's that?"
"When you move in, we'll have no problem." He told her as a smirk crept onto his lips.
"Keep dreaming, sweetheart." She winked as she pushed past him and made her way out of the fraternity house.
Once the girls were all outside, they went their separate ways and promised to keep in touch.
Stefan watched Klaus with anger in his forest-green eyes and the Brit walked over to him.
"This is all your fault." Klaus spat as his hands clenched into fists.
"Excuse me?" He questioned as he eyed him with disgust.
"You just had to tell them about what was going down at the party today because you obviously wanted to look like the golden boy."
"What I did was right. Do you not care at all that those girls have feelings as well? If this party went your way, I'm pretty sure you'd have a lot of blood on your hands."
"Oh please... All those women had the self-esteem of a famous model, so don't tell me what would supposedly happen."
"It doesn't matter though! You don't seem to understand how self-conscious they all are."
"Stefan, do us both a favor and stop playing the angel."
"You asked my best friend out, Klaus. Did you really not expect me to tell her? I wasn't about to ruin her college experience, not after what happened to her." He told him before he could stop himself.
"So, the blonde is your best friend?"
Stefan simply nodded.
"I should have guessed." Klaus shrugged even though he wondered what exactly happened to the blonde in the past.
"Yes, you should have." Stefan agreed. "But now that you know, you better stay the hell away from her. Are we clear?"
"Crystal," he lied because he knew exactly what he was going to do.
There you have it! Now, I am not really sure about this chapter, but I hope it was okay nontheless.
