Hey guys! So I am finally back with an update after forever, I really don't know why it takes me so long to update this particular fanfic, but here is the chapter and I don't think any of you guessed who the guy at the end of the last chapter was and there's a big clue in this one hehe

enjoy!

The next day, Caroline was getting ready for class when her cellphone rang. Reaching down for it, she took ahold of it and looked down at the unknown caller id.

Furrowing her eyebrows in confusion, she put it to her ear and heard breathing on the other end.

"Hello?" She asked, looking into the full length mirror and fixing her unruly blonde hair.

"Watch," the voice simply said before the line went dead.

Throwing the cellphone on the bed with trembling hands, she noticed that her eyes were wide.

"Care, you okay?" Katherine asked as she entered their room and walked over to her with a worried expression on her face.

"Oh yeah," Caroline reassured. "Of course I am, why wouldn't I be?" She questioned, trying to keep her voice even.

"I'm just asking." Katherine stated as a small smile appeared on her lips and her brown eyes twinkled.

"Yeah, yeah." Caroline replied, smiling in return even though she felt how clammy her hands were.

"Mhm," Katherine said. "Now off to class with you unless you want to fail that test you're going to have in a few days time."

"Okay, mom." Caroline said as she gave her best friend a hug and reached for her purse.

"Be careful, sweetheart!" Katherine chimed in.

Laughing, Caroline made her way towards the stairs and moved down the stairs. When she was outside, she leaned against the brick wall and recalled the voice that she heard over the phone.

Though she didn't recognize the voice, there was somewhat of a familiarity at the back of her head.

Shaking it off, she clutched her bag harder and looked down at her phone and at the unknown id.

As she was making her way into the building where she was going to have her class, she was stopped by somebody moving in front of her.

"Excuse me," she said, looking up and when she saw Klaus standing there in all his glory, her eyes widened.

"How are you, love?" He questioned. "All good? How's that new lad of yours treating you?"

"That is none of your concern and as a matter of fact, my new lad as you so poetically put it is treating me a lot better than you would have had if something was to happen between us- thank god it won't." She smiles innocently as she tried to move past him, but again he stopped her.

"Our conversation wasn't over, sweetheart. Didn't your parents teach you to never walk away from somebody who was speaking to you?"

"They did, but they also told me if the conversation was not wanted, I could either walk away quietly or kick said person in a rather fragile area."

"Fragile area?" He laughed loudly and some of the students around them eyed them with curiosity in their eyes. "You're beautiful and you have a sense of humor! The whole damn package, eh?"

"Out of my way, Klaus. And as I recall, you didn't think that I was beautiful when you invited me to that sorry excuse of a party you and your fraternity brothers threw."

"That party happened because we wanted to have some fun. Honestly, it was going to be harmless and none of you would have even known that you were invited in order to see who was the ugliest."

Narrowing her eyes at him, she jabbed her finger into his chest and he moved a step back, but she kept on moving with him until they were behind the building.

"What you did is unforgivable, so leave me the hell alone. I want nothing to do with you and I know that whatever nonsense you're spouting about beauty and shit like that is complete and utter bullshit, so kindly fuck off."

"I'm afraid I won't abide by your wishes, sweetheart. I want you and whenever I want something or someone, I get it. It's a matter of time before you fall into my arms and leave that child Aiden because he doesn't make you feel like a woman."

"Wow," Caroline said, stepping away from him. "You really do have an inflated ego and why girls even want you is beyond me. You have nothing to offer, but your looks. Let me tell you something, though- your looks will fade and eventually you'll be left alone. Nobody wants to have anything to do with an ass such as yourself."

"Perhaps you're right." He agreed. "But all I know is that I will never lack female company. All of the girls in this bloody university want to have me spend the night with them."

"You having to tell me that proves to me just how shallow you are. Now, I'm going to go to my class and later I am going to go an see Aiden- the guy who deserves my attention."

"Ah," he said. "Make sure to be careful with him, though. The boy is most likely a virgin still."

"I'd rather have a guy without much experience than a guy who fucks a different girl everyday. And hey, maybe you should go on to the clinic and check yourself out. Unless of course, you don't care about getting STDs."

"Have a nice day, Caroline." He said, excusing her with a flick of his fingers.

"Have a terrible day, Klaus." She responded, winking before she turned away from him with her head held high and walked away from him with her hips swaying seductively.

"I'll have you beneath me in no time at all." He called out and the blonde stopped for a split second before she walked away and into the building through the back entrance.

When he was alone, Klaus watched her disappear with a smirk on his lips and turned away as well.

Moving towards the quad, he sat down on a bench and took out his cellphone. As he was scrolling through his instagram, some guy sat down next to him and he looked over with an annoyed look on his face.

"This is my bench. Get off." Klaus ordered as he looked the broad-shouldered guy over and then looked away.

"Your bench? Does it have your name on it or something?" The guy questioned, the amusement evident in his dark, cold eyes.

"No, but still. Get off." He said again, the annoyance evident in his voice.

"Come on, man." The other guy stated. "I'm trying to be friendly here and you're kind of being an ass."

"Wow," Klaus said. "That is the second time I've been called an ass in a matter of minutes. I must be doing something right, then." He shrugged.

"I saw you speaking to a blonde just now." The guy told him as he crossed his arms over his chest. "That wasn't Caroline Forbes, was it?"

"Who's asking?" Klaus asked, looking over at the other guy with a curious expression in his stormy blue-gray eyes.

"Actually, I've kind of been crushing on her this past semester and I really want to make a move."

"You'll be sorely disappointed, but the lady is spoken for by some bloke who looks like he's ten."

"Aw man, are you serious? Damn it, I should have spoken to her earlier!"

"Should have, could have... It's a little too late at this point, but it doesn't mean you should give up. Go on and make a move on the girl."

"Nah..." He replied.

"What's your name, mate?" Klaus asked as he stuck out his hand for the other one to shake.

"Ty," he answered. "What's yours?"

"Klaus Mikaelson at your service." Klaus answered before he stood up. "Well, I have to go, but make a move. She lives on campus, so I'm sure you'll find her if you try hard enough."

"You think so?" Ty questioned. "Yeah, you're right... I'm gonna try and get her to like me."

"Good luck with that." Klaus saluted before he walked away with a smirk on his lips. The poor guy wouldn't know what hit him when he finally spoke to the Ice Princess that went by the name of Caroline Forbes.

After her class was finished, Caroline met Aiden at the cafeteria and the two made their way to an empty table carrying their trays of food.

"So, will you come tonight?" Aiden asked, a boyish grin lighting up his handsome face.

"Come where?" Caroline asked, looking over at him with her eyebrows furrowed.

"The bonfire," he responded as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "I've been telling you about it since yesterday."

"You have, haven't you?" She asked, now recalling that he did indeed ask her to accompany him to a bonfire. "I'm sorry, I just have a huge anatomy and physiology exam in two days time and have been focusing on that for the most part."

"Ah, I understand. So, I take it you're not going to come with me to the bonfire?"

"As of right now, no." She said, an apologetic smile on her lips. "I still have a couple of chapters that I have to get through, but if I finish early I'll come by."

"That's all I'm asking." He assured her before he took a bite of his slice of pizza.

Smiling at him, Caroline did the same and then the moving of the chair caught their attention.

The both of them looked to their right and Caroline groaned when she spotted Klaus sitting there with a hot dog in hand.

"You're not wanted here, so goodbye." Caroline told him as she narrowed her eyes at him.

"Maybe not," he said in a low voice that gave him more of an appeal considering that he had an accent. Then he outstretched his finger and removed the sauce from the side of her mouth that she didn't even know was there.

"What the hell, man?" Aiden questioned as his hands clenched into fists. "Back the fuck up and don't fucking touch her like she's your girl- she's my girl, if you haven't noticed."

"I've noticed, Aiden. But you seem to have misinterpreted that Caroline is indeed a woman and not some girl as you said a second before."

"No, Aiden you're right." She told him as she put her hand on his wrist and gave him a gentle squeeze.

"As lovely as this conversation is, allow me to say one thing before I leave." Klaus announced, a scowl evident on his full lips.

"Fine," they said in unison, their arms crossed over their chests as they waited for him to speak with the annoyance evident in their different colored eyes.

"I'm not saying this to you, Aaron, so go on back to that slice of pizza you're salivating over and allow the grown ups to have a conversation without having to break it down for you."

With a bang on the table, Aiden stood up and glared down at Klaus with venom in his green eyes.

"Oh, he has a dark side, now does he?" Klaus asked, the amusement evident on his face. "What are you going to do now, Aaron?" He provoked. "Are you gonna punch me in the face?"

"My name is Aiden." He said before he leaned down. "And if you don't get the fuck out of here, I will make you regret it."

"How do you suppose you'll that? You're not exactly strong- after all, I don't see any muscle on you."

"I may not be very muscular, but trust me when I say this. I can kick your ass with my eyes closed, so get the fuck out and leave me and my girl to our own devices."

"Nah, I'm pretty good with where I'm sitting now." Klaus shrugged as he leaned back in the chair. "And anyway, I haven't given my word of advice to Caroline yet."

"So why don't you do that and then you can get the fuck out of our faces?"

"Sure, sounds like a good bargain." Klaus shrugged even though he wasn't actually going to leave before they did. "My word of advice is that never settle for less than you deserve, love. You may think that this boy is safe and will keep you happy, but soon enough you'll find out without passion a relationship simply dies out."

"And I suppose you're saying that you can show me what passion is? I'm not a virgin, Klaus. I've had boyfriends before and I know what passion is and those relationships never work out, so your piece of advice is unnecessary and quite frankly, perhaps you should change how your life is going thus far."

"As a matter of fact, I like how my life is going and perhaps I do want you lying underneath me and eventually you will, but for now I'm done trying to make conversation." He spat as his stormy blue-gray eyes narrowed and he stood up and left the two of them.

Looking after his retreating figure, Caroline felt somewhat of a tightening in her chest because of she was being quite honest, the conversations between them was what she looked forward to most when she awoke and now they were gone.

Sighing, she looked back at Aiden and gave him a small smile.

There you have it! I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and I'm going to say now that the next chapter will probably be action packed, so get ready for that! Also, I realize that we haven't seen Stefan in a while and I'll correct that soon enough.
