Hey guys! So, I think that y'all will enjoy this chapter- hopefully I am not mistaken and I hope it's okay even though I wrote it in a little less than an hour- talk about missing writing, eh? And I apologize for the late upload- school is an absolute bitch and I find that I have to study more than I ever did before -_-

Enjoy!

That night, Caroline leaned against her headboard and focused on the flashcards in her hands. It seemed like the words were blurring and with a sigh, Caroline placed the flashcards on the bed and decided to rest her eyes for a little while.

"Are you coming to the bonfire?" Katherine asked as she dabbed on some lipstick.

"I don't know yet." Caroline sighed as her eyes wandered open and she looked over at her best friend miserably.

"Care, just stop studying. You'll do fine and you know it!" The brunette told her as she pulled on her leather jacket.

"I do not know it, though." Caroline whined as she crossed her arms over her chest. "My professor is such a fucking bitch… The amount of crap she makes us remember is unbelievable."

"Well, it is anatomy and physiology. That's why I'm not going for anything in the medical field, but let's be real here. You're a smart girl, Care. I have no doubt in my mind that you'll do wonderfully and I'm pretty sure you're stressing for no reason at all."

"Yeah, yeah… I don't know, but if anything I'll be there in an hour or so if I decide to take your advice." She replied, a small smile evident on her lips.

"That's all I'm asking." Katherine winked. "Now, I have to go and meet Elena, so I will see you later." She added as she opened the door and waved at the blonde.

When Caroline was alone, she picked up the flashcards once more and shuffled through them quickly. Shutting her eyes, she tried to remember the different types of bones and when she was able to get most of them correctly, she stood up.

"Time to go to the bonfire." She said aloud as she stood up and made her way towards the full-length mirror. She wore yoga pants and a baggy t-shirt. Her blonde curls looked as if they were a bird's nest and she huffed in annoyance before she grabbed a new pair of underthings and a towel. Heading to the showers, she thought about what she was going to wear and decided that it would be something that she would have worn a year ago. After all, Aiden was going to be there- maybe even Klaus…

Klaus? Why in the hell was she thinking about that asshole when she had a perfectly acceptable guy that liked her?

With a deep breath, she removed her clothing and when she was under the shower, the warm water hit her back sending shivers down her back.

Twenty minutes later, she went back into her dorm room and over to her closet. Her eyes landed on a light pair of skinny jeans and she fished around for her favorite coral tank top.

When she found it, she clapped her hands together and when another twenty minutes passed, she was ready.

Pulling on her toms, she grabbed her purse and threw her phone and wallet in there.

Then, she left her dorm room and made her way outside. Shivering, she noticed that there was barely anybody around and though she had felt a feeling of dread travel down her spine, she shook it off.

After all, this was Michigan State- nothing bad was going to happen here anyway.

With that final thought, she set out towards the bonfire and texted Katherine.

She texted: I'll be there in ten and you better have a bottle of beer ready for me, Kitty Kat.

Smiling to herself, she figured that tonight would be a good night… Though it was a bit chilly, the moon was full and the sky was filled with stars.

Klaus leaned against the tree and watched as the others drank their beers and conversed with one another.

When his eyes landed on Aiden, he rolled his eyes and huffed as he crossed his arms over his chest.

As he was taking a sip from his bottle of beer, a girl came up to him with a large smile on her lips.

"Remember me?" She purred as she ran her finger up his chest with a seductive smile on her lips.

"Am I supposed to?" Klaus asked as he took in her petite frame and dark hair.

"Haha, very funny." She giggled. "Of course you are, silly!" She said in a high voice as she moved her front against his chest.

Her short dress rode up her legs and though he felt a stirring in his groin, the girl couldn't keep his attention. His thoughts were plagued with a blonde beauty with bright blue eyes and a sharp tongue.

"I don't remember who you are, so be on your way if you will." He ordered as he gave her one last glance before looking away from her.

"Aurora… My name is Aurora."

"If I recall correctly, I didn't ask for your name and I find that I am even less interested now that you are intent on nagging at me."

"Nagging? We made love together and you think that I am nagging you?"

"There was no love making occurring. Like I said, I don't remember our liaison and even if we did hook up, we fucked plain and simple."

As her eyes filled with tears, Klaus realized that even though the right thing to do was apologize, he simply didn't care enough to do so.

"You're such an asshole." She cried before she turned on her heel and rushed away from him.

"You're not the first to tell me that and you most certainly will not be the last." He called out after her as the other bonfire goers looked over at him with curiosity in their eyes.

Tossing his head back, he gulped down the rest of the beer and threw the bottle on the ground before he spotted his older brother standing there, looking out of place.

After all, Elijah was the only one wearing a suit and he stood out like nobody else.

Making his way over to his brother, Klaus spotted a brunette on his hand and chuckled under his breath as he recognized her from the party that Caroline crashed with the rest of her friends or whatever they were to her.

"A little out of place, aren't you, 'Lijah?" Klaus asked him, a lopsided grin on his full lips. "And hello, darling. You look beautiful, Katherine…or is it Elena?"

"Katherine," she clarified. "Elena is my sister and you are an asshole." She added as she glared at him through dark brown eyes.

Chuckling, he shrugged and winked at her.

"I've been called worse, trust me." He told her matter of factly as he shrugged.

Katherine received a text hence the reason why she didn't say anything to him.

"Who's it from, Katerina?" Elijah asked as he peeked over her shoulder.

"It's from Caroline… She says she'll be here in ten minutes and that I should have a bottle of beer ready for her."

"Well, I do love a girl who drinks." Klaus told the duo even though they were barely paying any attention to him.

"Nobody asked you." Katherine shot at him with a sneer.

"I feel this hostility towards me and I must say that I do not understand why you dislike me so, darling Katerina- as my brother here fancies calling you."

"I dislike you because you treated my best friend like shit. The fact that you thought she even qualified for a competition such as one you and your group of idiot fraternity brothers threw is enough to put you in my black book. Rest assured that I will never like you."

"Not even if we become brother and sister when you marry my brother?"

"Niklaus!" Elijah cried out as he narrowed his chocolate brown eyes in Klaus' direction and wrapped his arm tightly around the brunette's waist.

"What!?" Klaus questioned. "The two of you aren't exactly making your relationship a secret and I know that you care for her considering that you're here and out of place."

"Just because I'm wearing a suit doesn't mean that I am out of place." Elijah responded as his anger heightened.

"It kind of does." Klaus argued. "Everybody else here is wearing something casual while you're dressed as if you're headed to a meeting."

"Actually, Elijah looks wonderful in that suit and I find that I like it when a man knows how to impeccably dress, so your argument thus far is invalid." Katherine told him before she took ahold of Elijah's hand.

"Excuse us," Elijah said to his brother and with that the duo made their way towards the bottles of beer on the opposite side of the clearance.

Huffing in annoyance, Klaus turned away from them and came face to face with Aiden.

"Why are you here?" Aiden questioned as he narrowed his eyes in the Brit's direction.

"Because I want to be and because my fraternity is in charge."

"It doesn't matter. Why are you here when you know damn well that Caroline will be here soon?"

"From what I can see, Caroline is not among the people here and even if she was, I wouldn't have left. If anything, you should be the one to leave. I don't know which one of my frat brothers invited you, but you have officially been disinvited."

"By whom?" Aiden asked. "You?"

"Yes, as a matter of fact. Now take yourself off and don't approach me again- unless of course you're ready to settle this like men." Klaus said, keeping his voice as calm and collected as possible.

"Give me a time and place and I'll see you there without a problem." Aiden told him immediately, without a second thought.

"You sure are more cockier than usual, aren't you, Aaron?" Klaus questioned, a smirk evident on his full lips.

"Aiden," Caroline's new boyfriend corrected as his fists clenched into fists.

"To be quite honest, I am not sure why you get angry so easily. We are simply having a conversation and already your jaw is beginning to tick and your hands are clenching and unclenching restlessly… Aiden, do you happen to have an anger issue that I don't know about?"

"I have no issues whatsoever, it is you who does." Aiden responded as he inhaled a deep breath and tried to calm himself.

"Is that so? In which way, if you don't mind my asking, of course."

"You don't seem to understand that Caroline chose me over you. Perhaps it is time you let her go and moved onto a girl who is actually stupid enough to fall for you."

"You may not know, but Caroline happened to fall for me- does that mean you are calling her stupid as well?"

"Caroline never fell for you. She thought that you were attractive and her girlish whims got the better of her, but thankfully she saw you for the fucker that you really are."

Chuckling darkly, Klaus patted Aiden's shoulder before he turned away from him and took a step before he stopped once more.

"I'll see you at the boxing rink tomorrow at three in the afternoon."

"Perfect," Aiden replied before he himself turned away and made his way to a free log that he then sat upon.

Narrowing his eyes at Aiden's retreating figure, Klaus realized that he had to put the bloke in his place before he got too cocky.

As Caroline was walking in the direction of the bonfire, she heard leaves crunching underneath somebody's shoes and she immediately stopped.

Turning around, she felt her heart beat accelerating and beating rapidly in her chest. Looking around, she saw nothing but the darkness of the large trees. Though there was a full moon, it barely shined through the leaves and she swallowed the lump that was beginning to form in her throat.

"Who's there?" She asked as she clutched her purse tightly against her chest and reached for her phone slowly.

"I wouldn't do that if I was you." A familiar voice said- one that she never wanted to hear ever again.

"Show yourself." She ordered as her voice cracked and she broke out into a cold sweat.

"Happily," the voice responded and then a man wearing all black came into view and when the moon glistened on his face, she gasped.

"Tyler." She said as she took a step back.

"Hello, Caroline… Did you miss me?" He questioned as he approached her with a predatory smirk on his lips and a craziness in his eyes that was new.

"Stay away from me." She commanded as she took another step back.

"Oh, I don't know… I don't think that I will- after all, you ruined my life and here I am with nothing to look forward to."

"Tyler, please. You know that what you did was wrong. I didn't deserve the way you treated me."

"You sure as hell did, Caroline. I'm not sorry at all for what I did and if I had a chance, I would do it again."

"Please, do not come any closer." She whispered as she shut her eyes and looked up at the sky with her hands clenched into fists.

"Why? Are you afraid of me, baby girl? Is that it? You used to love it when I called you baby girl, don't you remember?" He coaxed, moving closer yet again.

"What do you want from me?" Caroline wondered even though she had a good idea of what it was.

"Well for one, I want to show you just how rough I can be when provoked and also, I think I'll like taking another video of us intimately… I'll send it to your parents- they'll love it."

"Tyler, please don't do this." She begged as she tried to move backwards without any success.

After all, before she could move he jumped in her direction and pressed a cloth to her nose before she fell into a dark oblivion- her own personal hell with Tyler Daniel Lockwood as her tormentor and perhaps even her executioner.

There you have it! So, that was a cliffhanger, wasn't it? Well hopefully I'll upload the next chapter whenever I have the time to write it...
