***Thorin Hobbit***
Thorin sat on his throne thinking about everything that had happened in the past and remembered how he and his family had almost died. But he couldn't help but give thanks to the woman who had saved him and all his friends and family, he glanced over at the throne that was beside his and smiled as he thought of the woman he had made his queen and the love of his life.
Flashback
The dwarves had just been captured by the elves of Mirkwood and where being escorted into their kingdom when they were all stopped by a voice.
"Since when do the elves of Mirkwood take prisoners off the elven roads? The roads are for safe passage to all and to attack those on the road leads to terrible things for the elves of Mirkwood." The voice said not too far in front of them before someone stepped out in a cloak that covered them from head to toe.
Thorin didn't know who this stranger was and judging by the looks of the elves they didn't know what to do with this stranger.
"Who are you to question us? And as you can see they were not on the road which makes them trespassers on our lands." The young blonde said who was leading the group.
"Ah, that is true but I also see that they are dirty and covered in cobwebs from the spiders you and your kin refuse to rid this forest of." The stranger said while still standing still, "So that leads me to believe all this leads to the elves of Mirkwoods fault since they no longer protect this forest as they once did."
Thorin couldn't help but smirk at what the stranger was saying and heard a few of his kin snickering as the elves drew up in shock at what they were hearing. They were all shocked when one of the elves raised his bow and released an arrow at the cloaked person even with the blonde male and red haired female yelling at him in elfish. Everyone stared in shock when a hand came up and caught the arrow between two fingers, before using their thumb to break the arrow head off and toss it to the ground.
"Well since one of your own has taken it open himself to attack my person with no reason, I demand to speak with your king and see how this will work itself out since I offered no threat and was unjustly attacked by one of his own. I also wonder how the other elven kingdoms will react once they hear of how easily the elves of Mirkwood attack those offering no threat to their being, home, or kin." The stranger said before turning and walking in the direction the elves had been taking them.
Kagome had stayed out of sight while following the dwarves through the forest she had been asked by the Lady Galadriel to help Gandalf and the ones that journeyed with him. She didn't understand why Galadriel had asked for her help all of a sudden it was true that she often did things to help others of this world from humans, dwarves, to elves. She really didn't have a problem help Gandalf he was an old friend and was willing to help, but she wished she had asked Galadriel what she was helping him do.
Kagome had been brought to this world many years ago right after the jewel was finished saying she was meant to belong somewhere else that the one she was meant for was in the world she was going and would need her. She wasn't very happy when she got to her new world and noticed that she was actually shorter in this world. When she had met Gandalf, Lord Elrond, Lady Galadriel, Saruman, and Lord Thranduil they had all thought her a dwarf because of her height but soon found out she was more much more and held powers like none other. Over time she had offered her protection to each of the elfin kingdoms, so they may always have peace, she also offered the same protection to the dwarf kingdoms but many refused her offer, but told her she was always welcomed and she was always an honored guest that only the king or queen had the power to refuse her entrance into the dwarf kingdoms.
Kagome gave a sigh as she walked toward the entrance to Mirkwood while the others come up behind her, she couldn't help but glance at the leader of the dwarves. She remembered his grandfather and his descent into madness she had warned Thrain what was happening, he had seen it as well but didn't know what to do. When she was at the lonely mountain Thorin was not there away visiting family see thinks.
Pulled from her thoughts she looked at the gates leading into the elves home and moved forward only to stop when the guards raised their weapons.
"Halt state your business?" one of them said while looking at her giving a sigh and hearing the others finally behind her she spoke in elfish.
"I have business with your king now step aside or find yourselves on the ground." She said while looking at them and watching as the shivered at the cold tone in her voice.
"Let this one pass they wish to see the king plus I believe I wish to see what this one thinks they can say to change the kings' mind." Legolas said while moving forward as if to touch her moving quickly she grabbed his wrist and twisted it.
"Oh, but young prince you was not granted permission to touch my person." She said before releasing him and moving past the guards. She waited till the lead the dwarves in and followed the one leading Thorin to the king.
She stayed back and listened as Thranduil and Thorin spoke and decided when Thorin refused him and Thranduil was going to cast him into the dungeon with his men to step forward.
Thorin couldn't believe the arrogance of this elf after everything he had done to his people he expected them to give into his wishes. When Thranduil was getting ready to throw him into the dungeon the cloaked person from before walked forward and spoke. Thorin seeing the person up close in height thought he was a dwarf, but was shocked when he could hear their voice clearly now and was shocked that the person was a woman.
"Well Lord Thranduil I see your manners have changed for the worse over the years and it makes me wonder why." She said while still moving forward and placing herself between Thorin and Thranduil.
"And who are you to speak to me in that way?" Thranduil asked while standing before his throne.
Thorin didn't know who this woman was but he had to admit even without seeing her face he liked how she treated this elf. But was soon shocked at what he heard.
"I am the one who keeps this kingdom safe along with the other elven kingdoms. And I am wonder wither I should remove that protection from this kingdom because of how it's people and king act." She said in a sharp tone.
Thorin could see that what she said shocked the elven king because he stepped back and if possibly his face whitened.
"Lady Kagome!?" Thranduil said while moving back down while never taking his eyes off of the cloaked person not even paying attention to Thorin.
Thorin almost swallowed his tongue when small hands reached up and removed the hood which made the cloak fall to the ground. Standing in front of him was a petite woman with long braided blue black hair that rested against the back of her thighs. She wore an outfit similar to what the female elf that captured them wore but instead of green and brown she wore blue and silver, with twin swords on her sides and a bow with arrows on her back. He couldn't help but stare in wonder when she turned and looked at him, he couldn't help but think an goddess was standing before him.
She was shorter than he but not by much, he couldn't look away from her. Her skin seem to glow from the inside making her look like she had been bathed in moonlight, full lips that begged to be kissed, a small button nose, high cheek bones, but what truly stood out the most and put every jewel he could remember ever seeing to shame was her bright blue eyes that seemed to glow. He was quickly pulled from his thoughts when she spoke to him.
"Hello Thorin Ookenshield, son of Thrain, son of Thror and King under the Mountain." She spoke while still looking at him with those eyes that looked into his soul and gave him a smile before looking back at Thranduil with hardening eyes, and spoke to the elf king.
"So explain to me why I shouldn't revoke my protection on your home Thranduil when you have been so willingly to forsake someone else theirs." Kagome said while moving forward toward the elven king.
"Lady Kagome you do not understand. If this dwarf enters the mountain many lives will be lost I am doing to best for everyone by not letting them go." Thranduil said while looking at Kagome like she would agree with what he said.
"Really just a moment ago you was willing to let him and his kin continue on to the mountain but only if he would pay you in white stones or diamonds." Kagome said while glaring at the king who seemed to pale at her words.
"Thranduil you will release the dwarves with all their belongs along with the blade you son took after calling a king a thief and I expect you along with your son to see us through your gate then apologize for the behavior of you and your kin, or I will take the dwarves by force and take back my protection upon this kingdom and watch as it falls." She said while moving her hand up and letting her powers glow blue around her hand to prove her words.
Thorin never thought he would see the day the elfin king look scared and by someone who was shorter than he was. But he couldn't help but think of what she said about removing her protection from this kingdom and remembered his father once speaking of a woman who offered the dwarf kingdoms a form of protection. To protect their kingdoms and their people but his grandfather had declined the offer saying the lonely mountain could never be taking, but how he was wrong. He wounded if Erebor had, had the protection this woman had offered would any of the things that happened, happened?
Pulled from his thoughts he watched with wide eyes as the womans hand glowed blue and how Thranduil asked one of the guards to give word that the dwarves were to be freed. He was still in shock as she turned and moved toward him giving him a small smile."
"Come with me Thorin we shall wait for the others near the entrance." Kagome said while still giving him a smile before walking by him and moving back the way they came.
"Milady!?" Thorin said wanting to ask her so many questions.
"I will answer all your questions once the others are with us so I don't have to explain everything more than once." She said while glancing over her shoulder at him still smiling at him, before moving on.
It didn't take long before the other joined them and all were surprised when they saw a woman standing beside of Thorin while still armed, but they were even more shocked when Balin gasped and stepped forward and bowed to the woman.
"Milady Kagome, lass it is always a pleasure to see you how have you been these many years?" Balin asked while standing back up and smiling at the woman who smiled back and moved forward and hugged to older dwarf.
"Balin my friend I see you are still as handsome as the day I met you and still the gentleman." Kagome said while moving back from hugging Balin while holding onto his arms and looking him over.
"Balin you are still drinking that tea I told you about aren't you?" Kagome asked while giving the older dwarf a stern look, as Balin started chuckling.
"Oh, lass when I can I do but I admit of late I haven't, but maybe with you around maybe later we can have a cup of it and talk." He said while still smiling at her.
"Very well once we have left the forest and have a camp with a fire I will make you a pot of tea." Kagome said while moving back and looking at everyone who was looking at Kagome and Balin with shock.
"Well, I do believe it is time for us all to be on our way. Lord Thranduil, Prince Legolas I do believe you owe the dwarves an apology and Legolas return the blade you stole." Kagome said while moving away from the others toward the door as she spoke only to pause and look back at the others.
"You have our apologies and grant you access to our lands so you may continue on with your quest." Thranduil said while looking like it took everything in him to say those words. While Legolas handed back over the sword he had taken earlier while nodding his head before moving back to his father.
Kagome gave a laugh which drew everyone's attention back to her, "Not the apology I was hoping for coming from a king and prince of a kingdom, but knowing you Thranduil that is the best anyone will ever get." Kagome said while still snickering before moving quickly and drawing her sword and holding it to the throat of one of the elves that went to draw on her.
Glancing over with hardening eyes that seemed to make everyone freeze when they saw it, Kagome moved her wrist enough to draw blood from the elf who had frozen.
"Truly Thranduil I am really starting to think about revoking my protection with how your elves act and so willing to attack anything even an ally." Kagome said while still looking at the elf.
"Don't worry Lady Kagome he was be disciplined harshly." Thranduil while looking worried that Kagome would revoke her protection on his kingdom.
Moving the sword back and quickly sheathing it she moved quickly and punched the elf sending him back to the wall before landing and looking knocked out. Turning back she looked at everyone while shaking her hand, before moving back toward the front entrance.
"Oh, and Thranduil while I lead the dwarves toward the mountain I would send your guards toward the back of the palace where those barrels go to Lake Town, it seems some orcs are trying something." She said before turning back and moving through the entrance and listen as both the king and prince gave orders out.
It didn't take long for Kagome to lead them out of the forest and once out she turned to them to let them rest but soon was spoke to by Thorin.
"Now milady can you please explain everything?" Thorin asked while standing in front of everyone.
"Very well Thorin, I believe Balin can answer some questions so while you rest for a moment I will answer your questions." Kagome said while turning and looking at him.
Thorin still couldn't believe everything that had happened and looking at the small woman standing in front of him, he wanted to know everything there was about her.
"How did you know my grandfather and father, and what was you talking about revoking your protection over the elf's kingdom?" Thorin asked while looking at those bright blue eyes while the others listened while taking a break.
"Well I met your grandfather and father years ago when I came to the lonely mountain to offer my protection to his kingdom and people, the same offer I offered the elven kingdoms and the other dwarf kingdoms as well. Only the elves accepted my protection for their kingdoms." Kagome said while giving him a sad look, at the moment Balin spoke up.
"It was five years before the dragon came that I remember seeing a lovely young woman walking through the gates Erebor to speak with the royal family. I was one of the guards that took her to see the king and his son. She showed the most respect and dignity of any I had ever seen and offered to help protect Erebor and asked nothing in return. She just asked to help protect the people of the kingdom so they could always enjoy the safety and happiness of their lives in their home." Balin said while looking at Kagome who had turned to look toward the lake while the others looked at her in shock, as Balin continued talking.
"Even though the king refuse her offer saying that the dwarves of Erebor could protect themselves and that none could break through their gates. He spoke to this woman like an old friend having heard of her from the other dwarf kingdoms, how she went from kingdom to kingdom offer to help protect their kingdoms and all refused her but held her in high regard. None but the king of each kingdom could force her from their kingdom and she was higher than others with only the king above her." Balin said while smiling at Kagome who turned around and looked at the company.
"I told you father what that stone was doing to your grandfather, what his greed would bring but still my protection was denied." Kagome said while moving toward Balin.
"By the time I had heard of what had happened to Erebor the remain dwarves of the mountain had fled their homeland I have tried for years to find them and finally found them in the blue mountains. This time I wasn't going to risk being refused and placed my protection upon the mountain to give them the peace they deserved." Kagome said before turning and walking away from them.
"Come you don't have much time left to reach the mountain." Kagome said while moving away from them.
Thorin thought about what he had just heard and couldn't help but turn to Balin and speak to him.
"Why was I never told any of this?" He asked while still in shock.
Balin gave a sigh, "Your grandfather was set in his pride and didn't want to accept the offer, your father was actually willing to accept her help but since he wasn't the king he couldn't. There was many times your father and I spoke of this and how her protection would benefit our people, but before he could bring it before your grandfather the dragon appeared and we lost everything." Balin said while looking toward the woman walking away before looking back at Thorin and smiling before winking.
"Your father had hoped you and she would have met, and he was willing to ask for her hand in marriage to you, your grandfather was all for that he held a soft spot for the lass and often agreed with your father that she would make a fine match for you."
Time skip
Kagome was rushing toward the frozen lake she had already found Kili and Fili and was lucky enough to get to both of them before they drew their last breath and healed them both. Kagome couldn't help but smile at the thought of the she elf that was hugging and kissing Kili after he was healed. Right now she needed to find Thorin she knew something was wrong she could feel it in her gut that something was wrong. She went sliding across the ice and finally saw Biblo and Thorin and knew she was right and yelled Thorin's name while trying to get to him.
Thorin couldn't believe it was going to end like this, he finally had his homeland and kingdom back and a woman he was wanting to spend his life with, but now he wasn't even going to get to tell her how he felt about her and how sorry he was for acting once he had returned to his kingdom and the death of Smaug. He couldn't help but imagine what Kagome would look like dressed in silk with a crown he would make just for her on her head as she sat by his side on the throne. He couldn't help but smile when he thought he heard her voice saying his name on the wind, and wished she was truly there so he could tell her he loved her.
He was soon pulled from his thoughts when the real Kagome slide to his side and looked him over while crying while touching his face and pushing his hair out of her way and looking at him.
"Kagome?" Thorin asked really hoping that it was really her so he could tell her he loved her and wanted her to stay by his side.
"Shh Thorin I am going to heal you then you can talk." Kagome said while lifting one hand to start healing him but stopped when he didn't listen and spoke anyway.
"Kagome I know I have done some horrible things lately and let you and my kin and friends down, but I have to tell you something." Thorin said while looking at her and raising his hand and using what little energy he had left to touch her face.
"I love you Kagome." He said while trying to remember everything about her face so he could see her in death's embrace, but was soon surprised when she leaned in and kissed him and he was surround by warmth and knew it was from her. Feeling his strength returning her moved his hand from her face to her hair and pulled her in for a deeper kiss, not caring that his friends and Gandalf where watching or smiling at how the two finally admitted that they loved each other.
When he pulled back he looked her in the eyes and saw all the love for him in her eyes and knew that it was more important than all the gold and jewels in Erebor. But he couldn't help but feel pride and love when she spoke.
"I love you Thorin." Kagome said while holding his face in her hands and looking at him with such longing.
End Flashback
Thorin smiled as he remembered how after that he had asked for her hand in marriage and she said yes, it wasn't long after that, that she got him to help the humans of Lake Town. He was at first against it but it didn't take her long to change his mind, with rubbing against him while telling him all the things he could do with her later in their chambers if he agreed to help the humans.
He was pulled from his memories when he heard her laughter and saw her walking toward him with his nephews Fili and Kili walking with her basically guarding her every step since they had found out she was pregnant. All the dwarves hovered over her since then and made sure she wanted for nothing and was always smiling.
Getting up from his throne he walked toward his queen and pulled her close to him and kissed her on her lips and smiled when even now she still blushed.
"I love you Kagome my beautiful queen." Thorin said while smiling down at her and placing his hand on her stomach and feeling his child kick his hand.
"And I love you Thorin my king." Kagome said while rest her smaller hand over his and smiling up at him and staring at him with all the love in her heart.
