***Thranduil, Hobbit***
Kagome gave a sigh as she headed toward the lonely mountain she had receive a message from Gandalf asking for her help with getting the dwarves to the mountain keep. She never understood the greed from the old dwarf king and how he let himself getting taken in by the Arkenstone, but she couldn't say anything many years ago in another world she had to keep others from getting taken in by the power of a small jewel once.
Just thinking of the once jewel made her think of the last battle they had won without losing anyone, she wasn't saying they came out of the battle without wounds everyone had been wounded one way or another. Miroku had gotten lucky his wind tunnel was about to suck him in when Naraku was killed, Sango had suffered with a broken arm while fighting her brother, Inuyasha had a hole from one of Naraku's tentacles going through his left shoulder. She herself had cuts and bruises a few broken ribs she could help but laugh the only one not wounded was Sesshomaru. Luckily Rin and Shippo had remained in the village and weren't touched.
After killing Naraku she had walked toward the jewel only for it to glow brightly and start to float into the air calling forth the shards she had. Once she jewel was complete it shot toward her and hit her in the chest making her glow before she disappeared from sight.
She had woken in the dark and floating wondering where she was and where everyone was and how they were till she heard a voice.
"The time has come to take you were you are truly needed and to your other half." The voice said before she was blinded by light.
When she come to she was in a forest near a lake she looked around but didn't know where she was she happen to notice when she went to stand that she felt different and looked down at herself and noticed she was in different clothes. They were blue lined in silver it looked like a long shelved dress with silver pants on underneath with a vest like thing on her chest. Moving toward the lake and looking in the water she saw that wasn't the only thing that changed. She hadn't gotten taller along with filling out more in her body her once brown eyes glowed blue, her ears pointed like Sesshomaru's and her hair once to mid back rested to the top of the thighs.
Kagome shook her head as she thought of the past as she walked toward Mirkwood she hadn't set foot in the forest in many years she had learned that the elves that liked in that forest went always friendly even to one of their own kind. As she got closer she pulled her hood closer to her face to hide her she could fell something was wrong with the forest something was off the forest. The only good news was even after her change those many years ago she still held her powers but when used glowed blue instead of pink.
Giving a sigh Kagome knew the dwarves would have to go through Mirkwood to get the lonely mountain and decided to see how far ahead of her they were. Spreading her senses out she noticed they weren't that far ahead of her but from what she knew of the forest they were off the elven path and with how the forest was now would be lost. Giving a sigh she rolled her neck and decided to catch up to them keep an eye on them till Gandalf arrived and took over watching after them back. Jumping into the trees she let her powers flow through her to protect her from the forest itself.
It didn't take her long to find the group and noticed before giving a sigh they weren't on the elven road anymore and where wondering around she was getting ready to jump down and guide them when she saw what she thought was a hobbit climb up a tree. She was glad one of them finally understood that they needed out of the forest she decided to follow the hobbit up and get some air herself since she didn't see the dwarves really going anywhere.
Kagome was almost to the top of the tree when she felt it an evil feeling she spread her powers out and noticed that there was a lot of them and all heading toward the dwarves. She noticed the webs the closer she go and shuddered at the thought of spiders. As she arrived she saw the dwarves incased in webs and being dragged away by the spiders she couldn't help but shudder just looking at them. Giving a final shudder and wishing she didn't have to do this she fired two arrows one killing a few spiders and the other cutting some of the dwarves loose. Kagome felt an evil power much like Naraku only worse and looked around and saw the hobbit and the evil that was coming from the ring he wore. It was pure evil she knew she could never touch it because it would destroy her, her powers would try to purify the evil and kill her in the end.
Moving back into the shadows she watched as the hobbit cut the others down and moved to help them, she kept up with them jumping from branch to branch firing arrows at the spiders to help protect the group she heard the movement before she saw them. The elves of Mirkwood had appeared and was surrounding the dwarves Kagome hung her head she was truly hoping to not have to run into these elves but it seemed to help the elves she would have to make an appearance and hopefully get the dwarves free of the elves. She was getting ready to jump down when she felt the evil again and looked over and winced as she saw the hobbit with the ring on.
Giving it little thought but hoping the hobbit knew the power of that ring would taint him the longer he had it decided to get to him first and jumped down to land in front of him and it seemed to surprise him since he thought no one could see him.
"I don't know how likely the elf king is going to let the dwarves go so keep that ring on long enough to help free them if they can't get out of this. But as soon as you can remove that ring and get everyone out I will try to help as much as I can but even I can only do so much against the elven king and his kingdom." Kagome said to the hobbit before turning and quickly jumping and leaping before landing near the two parties and looking at them even as a few of the elves turned and aimed at her.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" The leader of the elven party said and Kagome sighed and decided to remove her hood and spoke while both parties looked at her with widened eyes.
"I wish to speak to your king on behalf of the dwarves." She said while looking at the blond elf and female elves that walked toward her.
"And why would a fellow elf speak on behalf of these trespassers?" The blond asked while looking into the bright blue eyes.
"That is something I will explain to the king and the king alone." She said before looking at the dwarves and nodding her head to them and moving forward while pulling her hood back up.
Kagome didn't have to wait and follow like the dwarves she could feel the auras of the elves and followed and didn't even look when the blond and female moved to walk besides her.
"I have never seen you in our kingdom before where are you from?" Legolas asked he had never seen a elf with hair as black or eyes as blue as the female elf that walked between him and Tauriel.
Kagome chuckled before answering.
"I don't really have a true home anymore but I am welcomed in Riverdell and Lothlorien and think of both Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel as close friends."
She noticed that they seemed a little bit shocked at hearing this and the blond spoke again.
"If you are friends with both Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel why haven't you appeared before my father before?" Legolas asked wondering why this elf had never before set foot in their kingdom.
"I had heard things of the elves in the forest and not all good I am afraid to say but have never truly needed to come into Mirkwood before, I travel where I am needed and till now was never needed here." Kagome said before looking at the entrance to the kingdom.
Kagome had to admit she hold her amazement at how beautiful the kingdom was and looked up and down and saw the different pathways and could understand why no human could walk them without assistance one wrong step and you would fall. She was brought from her thoughts when Legolas spoke.
"Take the other dwarves to the dungeon, take this one to see me father." He said before turning to her and looking at her and raising an eyebrow and she knew he was asking if she wished to wait or speak to his father now.
"I will go with the dwarf to see your father and I will wait before I speak to him and hopefully this problem will be solved and over quickly." Kagome said before bowing her head to the prince and followed after the guards taking the leader to see the king. As she walked she caught up and walked beside the dwarf and noticed him looking at her from the corner of his eyes.
"Why do you wish to help us elf?" Thorin asked slightly surprised that this female elf seemed to be willing to help his group even against her own kind, he was slightly thrown off when he heard a soft chuckle.
"I was asked to help you for as long as I can and it does seem that you need my help, I have been watching over your group only since you have been in the woods for a little bit of time." Kagome explained but before he could say or ask something else they were before the king who was sitting on a throne that looked like a tree with antlers on it.
Kagome wasn't truly surprised that the king was handsome but she couldn't believe that she at first thought he was the most handsome male she had ever seen and she remembered Sesshomaru. She stood back and waited as he rose from his throne and walked down to speak to Thorin not even paying any attention to her.
"Some may imagine a noble quest is at hand. A quest to reclaim a homeland…and slay a dragon. I myself suspect a more prosaic motive. Attempted burglary. Or something of that ilk. You have found a way in you seek that which would..Bestow on you the right to rule. The kings jewel. The Arkenstone. It is precious to you beyond measure. I understand that, there are gems in the mountain I too desire. White gems…of pure starlight. I over you my help."
The entire time he was talking Kagome watched the king as he spoke and how he acted toward the dwarf and Kagome couldn't understand why he wanted the diamonds. She knew what he wanted it was true she had noticed over time that elves like diamonds because it reminded them of starlight but she would rather look at the real stars at night. It was true she could never touch them but their beauty was worth it just to look at. She was pulled from her thoughts when Thorin spoke.
"I am listening."
"I will let you go.. if you but return what is mine." Thranduil said while looking at Thorin.
"A favor for a favor." Thorin said while turning and walking a little ways away.
"You have my word…..One king to another."
"I would not trust the word of Thranduil… THE GREAT KING TO HONOR HIS WORD SHOULD THE END OF ALL DAYS BE UPON US. YOU…WHO LACK ALL HONOR. I have seen how you treat your friends, we came to you once starving, homeless…seeking your help. But you turned your back! You turned away from the suffering of my people..and the inferno that destroyed us! Imrid amrad ursul!" Thorin said while looking up at the elf king.
Kagome was shocked she knew of the hatred between elves and dwarves she could never hate someone for no reason and could never get a clear answer on why they hated each other.
"Do not speak to me of dragon fire. I know its wrath and ruin!" Thranduil said while getting into Thorin's face and Kagome's eyes widen as she saw the damage to his face and saw the darkness around it and knew why it hadn't been healed.
"I have faced the great serpents of the North. I warned your grandfather of what his greed would summon. But, he would not listen." Thranduil said before turning and walking up the steps to his thorn.
"You are just like him." He said while waving his hand and the guards grabbing Thorin and starting to drag him away.
"Stay here if you will and rot. And hundred years is a mere blink in the life of an elf. I am patient I can wait." Thranduil said as Thorin was dragged away and Kagome knew she had to stop this.
"A moment your highness I offer myself in place of the dwarves." Kagome said as she moved forward to stand below the throne as he looked down at her and the guards stopped and turned with Thorin and looked at her.
"And who are you and why would you offer yourself in place of the dwarves?" Thranduil asked while leaning forward a little on his throne to look down at her.
Kagome gave a small sigh and closed her eyes before reaching up with her hands one to her hood and the other to the clasp holding her cloak and pushed them before opening her eyes as it hit the ground and hearing a gasp before opening her eyes and looking up at the king.
"I am Kagome Higurashi your highness. I was asked by Gandalf to help and protect the dwarves as they made their way through the forest and to the mountain. If I let them be stopped here then I have failed, again I offer myself in place of the dwarves to help with making the deal better I offer my powers to you and your kingdom and I will heal the mark on your face." Kagome said while standing tall and watching as the king made his way down the stairs and toward her.
Thranduil looked at the petit elf that stood before him and couldn't believe what he was seeing. She was by far the most beautiful elf he had ever seen in his many years of life. Her head barely reached his chin, hair so black it shined blue, a heart shaped face, pouty lips, a small nose and her eyes he had never seen eyes like that blue they seemed to glow. Looking down her body he was surprised by how shapely she was she was curved in all the right places. He couldn't help but stare at her in surprise when she said that her powers would be his and his kingdoms and heal his face.
Many had tried to heal him over the years that he had given up on it but to have this woman to stand before him and say she could do what none other could do. He couldn't help but feel like he had heard her name before and then it hit him both Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel had both spoken of this elf in their letters. She was different from all other elves she was a warrior like no other and a healer that none could compare to. He has always imaged what she looked like, but he never thought she would look like she does, he looked over her shoulder and saw Thorin looking at her with surprised eyes and didn't like the thought of the dwarf looking at her beauty and waved his hand to the guards.
Kagome turned and looked as the dwarf was taking away and turned and looked at the king in confusion.
"My lord I am willing to take their place please you have no right to hold them here!" Kagome said as she moved closer the Thranduil and looked up at him trying to make him understand.
"I have every right they have trespassed in my lands and their leader has insulted my honor." Thranduil said while looking down into those blues eyes and was shocked when he saw disappoint in her eyes before she turned away from him and walked away only to turn and look at him.
"You know what you said is untrue the elven road is free to all they weren't trespassing they were trying to stay alive after being attacked by the spiders? You say he insulted your honor but aren't you, yourself tarnishing your own honor in what you are doing now." Kagome said while shaking her head as she turned he body and looked at Thranduil.
"I had heard many things about the elves of Mirkwood but now I wonder if the bad that I have heard truly outweighs the good. I hold no prejudice against any wither they be man, dwarf, or even elf but I see that hatred weighs heavily on you King Thranduil." Kagome said as she moved to walked past him and try and figure another way to get the dwarves free and hoped the hobbit could do something.
She was soon pulled from her thoughts when her arm was grabbed and she was turned around and looked into the eyes of a very pissed king.
Thranduil had never had anyone speak to him the way that this woman had, when he had seen the disappointment in her eyes he felt the need to fix it. But, he knew what he would have to do and could not do that, but when she spoke of holding no prejudice against any he knew she was right he didn't like dwarves not since Thorin's grandfather. He saw dwarves as dirty, greedy, and disgusting everything that happened to the dwarves was their own fault.
"You know nothing about anything that has happened between myself and the dwarves." Thranduil spat while glaring at her.
Kagome jerked her arm away from him and glared up at him making his eyes widen at the fire in his eyes.
"You would blame all for the mistakes of the few. It is thinking and actions like that, which has created the problems in the world dwarves hate elves, elves hate dwarves, men hate dwarves and elves. Does it truly matter how or what started it, you are continuing it." Kagome said while looking up at him and was shocked when he pulled her close and easily removed her bow arrows and sword before motioning for the guards who grabbed her arms.
"What are you doing?" She said while looking up at the Thranduil in shock that he would do this just because she spoke her mind about his behavior.
"You will remain a guest with us till you learn to not speak of things you do not know. Do not worry you won't be locked in the dungeon like the dwarves." He said as he moved away while still holding her weapons only to hand them to another guard and motioned to the guards to follow him and lead them along with Kagome to the room near his he opened the doors and watched as the guards lead her in only to release her and move out of the room.
"This shall be your room till you have come to understand." Thranduil said while looking at her and nodding his head before moving toward the door only to stop and look back at her when she spoke.
"A cage is a cage no matter how pretty it may look." Kagome said while glaring at the king and wishing she could strike him.
After hearing her he couldn't believe she would look at it like this and decided to ignore it and looked at her before walking out.
"Someone will be along shortly to help you get ready for supper."
Kagome sighed as the door shut and she looked at the room while again she thought of it like a cage she had to admit it was still a nice cage. She looked at the door when she heard a knock at the door and before she could answer it was opened and light browned haired female elf appeared carrying fabric over one arm.
"Milady I am here to help you with your bath and get ready for supper with the king." She spoke to Kagome and all Kagome could do was sigh and nod her head before following the female across the room to another door, which lead to a bathroom.
A tub was already filled with hot water steam going from it and Kagome couldn't help but smile when she saw it and quickly shed her clothes to get into it. Once in the tub she sighed in relief at how comfortable she felt.
Relaxing she let the other girl wash her hair and didn't speak but spread her senses out and found the dwarves and the hobbit and felt relief when she felt the hobbit moving toward the dwarves. Without looking at the girl Kagome spoke.
"What is going on that seems to have everyone getting ready for something?" Kagome asked while leaning her head back so the girl could work her hair better. Once she was done Kagome gave a sigh and raised from the tub and stepped out of it while taking the drying cloth and drying herself and walking back toward the bedroom.
"It is the feast of starlight milady." The maid said while moving over and getting the dress off the bed and walking back toward Kagome and Kagome couldn't help but think the dress was lovely a dark silver dress lined with a lighter silver with a silver belt with blue stones in it.
Once she was ready after having her hair combed with a sliver line band laid on her head she followed the other elf once she led her to the room she stepped to the side and bowed to her. Kagome nodded her head before moving forward and opening the door and walking inside and looking around.
She noticed that it wasn't a true room it was leading to a balcony where she saw the king with his back to her looking up at the sky beside him was a table. Giving a sigh Kagome moved forward and looked at the table and saw that it was a table set for two.
"May I ask why I was brought here your highness and when are you going to release the dwarves?" Kagome asked as she turned and looked at the king who had turned and looked at her.
"You was brought here to have dinner and the dwarves shall not leave anytime soon." He said as he moved forward and pulled out a chair for her and watching as she sighed and sat in it with more grace than he had seen anyone ever do. Moving to the other side of the table Thranduil sat and looked at the lovely version before him.
"Now my dear I would like to know more about you since you will be spending time here." Thranduil said while moving and pouring her a glass of wine before one for himself.
Kagome looked at the king and had to admit if things were different she would enjoy this he is a handsome elf more so than many she had seen before and decided she didn't have a choice and picked up her glass and took a sip before setting the glass back down.
"And what would you like to know milord?" Kagome asked as she looked him straight in the eyes.
"Why is such a beautiful elf traveling alone and helping Gandalf help the dwarves get to the mountain you both must know what waking the dragon will mean he will attack all with no remorse for any." Thranduil said while looking at Kagome while she sat looking at him before sighing and looking off into the distance toward the moon and stars.
Kagome knew she would have to tell this elf everything about herself to gain his trust not many knew of her past only Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel and Gandalf knew of her past before she come to middle earth. Looking back at Thranduil she looked him in the eye and started to speak and smirked at him.
"I wasn't born an elf your Highness. I was actually born human a simple human but fate decided it needed me more than I realized and was taken from everything I know and loved and brought here to middle earth." She said while smirking at the look on his face as he looked at her in a mixture of disbelief and wonder.
"That is impossible!" He said while looking at her as she still sat smirking at him before losing the smirk and again looking away and he could see the pain in her eyes, and knew this woman had faced the death itself and walked away but not without the scares.
"No your highness not impossible on my fifteen birthday fate, destiny however you wished to see it decided I wasn't meant for a normal life." After that she told him what had happened in her life from shattering the jewel to Inuyasha betraying them all to be with his clay pot, Sesshomaru training her, to the jewel entering her heart and telling her she was needed somewhere else to waking up in middle earth, to where they are now.
Thranduil could not believe this lovely creature was one a child of man she was everything elves should be, grace, beauty, pose, intelligence, and eternal. But, from her story she wasn't a daughter of man from this world in this world she was born and elf and if she was like this when she was still mortal who was he to say anything against her. He had never felt this way about any female elf since his wife had died and he never planned on letting this one go till she agreed to stay by his side for eternity.
Kagome sat back in the chair and drank from her glass she had heard how this king didn't take well to any being that wasn't an elf and was expecting after what she told him for him to send her away. She almost chocked on her wine when he spoke next as he turned toward her.
"Would you allow myself to court you?" Thranduil asked while looking at the shock on her face and she gasped for air.
"W-What!?" Kagome asked as she raised from her chair and moved slightly away from him and was shocked by what he said next as he walked toward her.
"You may have been born a daughter of man in your old world but in this world you was born elf and are an elf." Thranduil said while moving closer to her, as she moved closer to the railing on the balcony while looking up at him.
"I have never seen an elf with a much grace, beauty, and as deadly as you are in many years. I was thinking that before you spoke about your past life, but after hearing what you have gone through what you have given up I have never known anyone so selfless." He said while reaching up and cupping her face with one hand and reaching and holding her hand with his other hand.
Kagome was still shocked grant it, it had been a long time since she was in the feudal era and Inuyasha was her friend but he made her doubt herself for so long. And for so long she had wished for someone to want her just for her.
"You cannot mean that you don't want me." Kagome said while still looking up at him and looking in his eyes and seeing something she thought she would never see when someone looked at her. Want, desire Kagome decided to let her powers go and truly look at him, to look in his soul and gasped when she saw that his soul was reaching for hers. Looking up at him she let tears fall as she looked up at him and gave a smile before pulling his face toward hers and closing her eyes and kissing him.
Thranduil would admit he was shocked with how she was reacting to him telling her that he wanted her, but as he thought about what she said about her past he understood. She had never truly been wanted none had before shown her that she could be wanted above all others. He could feel her powers and knew she was looking into him and when she gasped, he knew she could tell he was telling the truth. He was surprised when she raised her hands and pulled him down and started kissing him.
To Thranduil he felt like middle earth had moved he felt her lips on his and pulled her harder against him and pushed the hand on her face into her hair and deepened the kiss. He felt warmth spread through his whole body and pulled back when he didn't feel pain in his face from the dragon fire burn and had sight in his left eye again. Pulling back from her he lowered the glamor on his face and raised his hand to touch his face, while looking down at Kagome with widened eyes.
Kagome watched his expression as he felt his face while looking at her with wondering in his eyes. She raised her hand and cupped the hand on his face and looked at him and spoke.
"My answer to your wish to court me is yes my king." Kagome said while looking up at him with a small smile and it growing bigger at the look on his face and eyes. Right as he was leaning forward to kiss her there was a loud knock on the door, both turning toward it Thranduil stepped forward while holding Kagome to his side and back.
"Enter." They both watched as a guard stepped forward and bowed to Thranduil.
"Speak what has you coming here to seek me?" Thranduil asked but Kagome could tell he was slightly pissed off about being interrupted.
"Milord, it is the dwarves they have escaped their cells." The guard said after raising and looking at his king.
"That is impossible how could they have escaped search for them find them." Thranduil said while stepping closer to the guard till he bowed and hurried away.
"Milord, please why do you wish to hold them they are just wishing to return to their homeland and reclaim what was taken from them?" Kagome asked while walking toward him and looking at him she had almost forgotten about the dwarves till this every moment. Looking at Thranduil she could see a rage in his eyes that she would guess not many people could read from him as he looked at her.
"Once I had an agreement with the dwarves that lived in the lonely mountain but they went back on their word and stole something from me I wish to reclaim it as well. That is why I offered to let Thorin Oakenshield and his kin go if he would honor they word of grandfather." Thranduil said while moving back toward the balcony.
"The white gems, diamonds?" Kagome asked while moving toward him and looking at his back while waiting for him to speak again, when he didn't speak Kagome knew she had her answer and she moved back from him.
"You would keep others from their home possibly start a war over gems?" Kagome asked while still slowly backing away from him. Spearding her senses she found the dwarves and noticed they were moving quickly and moving away from the kingdom but could feel both elves and something else was chasing the dwarves. Giving a sigh she knew there was more to this than what she could see and decided to wait and see what more would happen.
"I believe Milord that we should head to your throne to await your guards." Kagome said while turning and heading toward the door not noticing the look Thranduil had given her while her back was turned.
Thranduil looked at Kagome as she moved toward the door and wished he could explain what those stones truly meant to him but now was not the time. He moved to follow her to the throne room to wait he his men to bring back the dwarves.
Kagome stood beside the throne while in deep thought as Thranduil moved slowly around also looking deep in thought. Kagome knew the dwarves had gotten away she had kept her senses on them but something was pulling her senses farther away something dark. While waiting she didn't want to spread herself too far for fear that the darkness could take a hold of her and pull her to it, but she could sense a cry for help. She was trying to figure out who it was that she hadn't noticed that Legolas had returned with an orc along with Tauriel only to be shorty sent away for letting her anger get the better of her after hearing about one of the dwarves was poisoned.
"I do not care about one dead dwarf answer the question. You have nothing to fear tell us what you know and I shall set you free." Thranduil said while Kagome moved toward the steps and slowly moved down them not believing what she was hearing. She could see the darkness on the orc it wasn't just his own but another layered on his, she wasn't paying attention she knew what this orc was saying was truth war was coming to them but he was soon silenced when Thranduil cut his head off while the body fell to the side and Legolas was holding the head. Seeing this she knew that Thranduil also knew what the orc meant and moved down the steps fully as he ordered the gates sealed to protect themselves.
"Milord you cannot hide you know that the orc spoke the truth even Gandalf spoke of a darkness when we spoke, you cannot do nothing." Kagome spoke as she moved around the orcs body to his and looked at him.
"I am doing something I am protecting my people." He said as he looked down at her while moving his hand to brush a hair to the side of the face.
"And forsaking others?" Kagome asked.
"I must watch over my own before others." He said while looking her in the eyes but Kagome saw something there and before she could speak her reached out and took her hand and placed it on his arm.
"Come it is time to rest." He said before pulling her along Kagome couldn't say anything but decided to wait before speaking again. As he lead her away she gasped as she felt the cry for help scream at her before both light and dark faced each other.
"Kagome!?" Thranduil asked while looking at her with widened eyes as her eyes widened almost impossible and she started to speak.
"Darkness that was once thought destroyed has risen only to be banished by one of the light. He is fleeing but not gone his power still lost till it is found he wishes to spread his darkness and wishes to start at the mountain." She spoke before her eyes rolled back in her head and the fainted.
Thranduil caught her before she could fall and was filled with horror at what she had spoken of he could only remember one enemy of old that was thought destroyed. Carrying her he headed toward his rooms he had much to think of.
He stared down at his sleeping beauty as she had slept for almost two days now and he was worried his healers said she was fine just that her body was stressed and needed rest. He moved away from her to get a glass of water and when he turned back he saw her sitting up in the bed.
"Kagome!?" Thranduil said while quickly moving back to her side and sitting beside her on the bed while looking her over while she was looking up at him in confusion.
"Thranduil? W-what happened why am I in this room?" Kagome said while looking around and seeing it wasn't the room she had been giving when she arrived.
"What was the last thing you remember?" Thranduil asked while already guessing she doesn't remember what she said.
"Um, well I remember you killing the orc before I asked you if was truly wishing to start a war then us walking away from the throne room after that nothing. Thranduil what happened? Why do you look worried did something happen?" Kagome asked while reaching over and holding his hand while looking worried while spread her senses to see what was wrong.
Thranduil gave a sigh of relief while pulling one of her hands to his, he decided since she didn't remember what had happened that right now not to speak to her about it. He was about to say something but Kagome spoke first.
"The dwarves have made it to the mountain." She said while pulling away from him and getting up from the bed and heading toward the balcony.
"How do you know that Kagome?" Thranduil asked while moving to stand behind her as she looked out into the distance.
"I have kept track of their auras since we arrived here and I can sense the dragon in the mountain he hasn't moved I can feel his darkness even from this distance." Kagome said while turning and looking up at Thranduil as he stared down at her as he cupped her face and looked into her eyes.
"What else do you sense?" He asked her.
"Nothing I can just sense them and the darkness from the dragon if I spread myself I could find others I know but I am only keeping an eye on the dwarves for Gandalf till he can meet back with them." Kagome said while moving back toward the bed to sit down she still felt tired and after using her powers to find the dwarves she needed rest. She didn't understand it she hadn't truly used her powers since arriving into the kingdom other than to keep track of the dwarves and that never bothered her before.
"Thranduil what happened to me?" Kagome demanded as she looked up at him waiting for an answer when he spoke and told her what had happened Kagome couldn't believe it nothing like that had happened before. She couldn't help but wondering was her powers growing as she looked back over told the balcony she noticed it had gotten later in the night.
"I will have someone break you some food you need to regain your strength." Thranduil said while gathering her hands in his and kissing them before kissing her forehead and moving toward the door.
As the door shut she raised from the bed and moved back toward the balcony she needed to know that the dwarves where safe it didn't matter how tired she was. Spreading her senses she gasped she felt bloodlust, anger, a thirst for destruction, the pain of lives being taken and destroyed. Falling to her knees she knew what had happened pulling herself back up, she moved toward the door and threw it open.
"THRANDUIL! THRANDUIL!" Kagome cried while moving down the hall as guards and servants moved toward her to help her but she was crying too much to see them she could feel Thranduil and moved to him as he appeared and gathered her in his arms and looked at her.
"Kagome what is it? What did you sense?" Thranduil asked while holding her close as she said something that made all the elves eyes widen.
"The dragon has awoken he is destroying the lake town so many are dying and suffering." Kagome said before once again fainting from the stress and the backlash of feelings of so many suffering.
Gathering Kagome into his arms again he looked at his guards and spoke in a cold voice as he moved back toward his rooms.
"I want a scout sent out to see if the dragon is stopped do not interfere and do not draw attention to yourself now go." He said as he entered his room and again laid Kagome down and sat beside her and wiped the tears from her face and corners of her eyes. In his long life he had never seen someone weep over lives there did not know but then he remembered about her past she would care for any life.
Kissing her head and pulling the covers over her he moved back toward the door and stopped and looked back at her before moving out the door.
Kagome awoke to the sound of soldiers getting ready, moving off the bed she looked around and saw clothes on one of the chairs dressing quickly in the pants and top securing the ties. After placing the boots on, she walked out the door while finishing tying her hair in a braid and throwing it over her shoulder. As she made herself toward the soldiers she saw Thranduil giving orders and moved toward him.
"Milord what is going on?" She asked as she stood by his side as he looked down at her before looking back at his soldiers.
"We are going to help the humans of Lake Town after it was destroyed by Smaug who was then destroyed by an arrow shot by one of the towns' people." Thranduil said while moving with her toward the stable where a giant elf stood with a bridle and saddle while horses were being made ready.
Moving away from Thranduil she walked toward the elk that was standing at attention looking at her with wide eyes before moving toward her as well. When she was close enough she was surprised when the elk bowed its head and rested its forehead against hers', closing her eyes she moved her hands and held its' face before pulling back and looking at the giant elk.
"Magnificent." She said while Thranduil moved forward and wrapped an arm around her waist before lifting her and setting her on the saddle before gracefully swinging himself into the saddle and pulling the reins and heading out of the stable.
"We must hurry and get to the humans to give them the supplies." He said as the soldiers followed his lead while the ones on foot started marching forward. Kagome was surprised from what she had gathered about Thranduil he wasn't the most generous elf or king. But as they made it to the old city that the humans had taken over to rest Kagome watched everything and noticed that Thranduil did have a reason for helping the humans. He still wanted the white gems as he motioned for his men to march to the mountain gates a man appeared and tried to reason with Thranduil asking him to give him a chance to speak to Thorin. When Thranduil like he was going to refuse Kagome spoke as she looked from the lakes man to Thranduil.
"Milord let him try we need to try something without the cost of life. What harm is it that this man wishes to try the same thing?" Kagome spoke as she looked up at Thranduil, who was looking at her before nodding his head.
"Very well you may go and speak to Thorin but know this he will not listen to your words." Thranduil said while motioning for his troops to stop once the man had gone to get a horse Kagome looked back to Thranduil.
"Please this needs to stop you would see blood on the ground lives lost for cold stones, giving the warmth of life as a price for those stones. Why?" Kagome asked before dismounting and moving to watch as the man left with his horse toward the mountain, as Thranduil looked toward her before gently touching the sides of the elk to make it go forward to wait which he didn't have to wait long. She heard the words of how Thorin would give them nothing and Thranduil said they would march on the mountain at dawn.
Looking at the other elves Kagome moved toward one who stood at attention when she stood before him all knowing that she was being courted by their King. Giving the elf a smile she looked at him and the spoke gently to him.
"Find me a bow, arrows, and swords please if this does happen I will not stand by while others die." She said while looking at the elven soldiers who looked at her in wonder not many female elves learned the art of war.
"Yes, Milady I will get you what you ask and bring it to you." He said before bowing and turning and leaving.
Kagome watched as everyone went about their business getting ready the elves waiting and standing guard while the men getting weapons. Kagome sighed and looked to the men they were not soldiers or fighters and prayed that this didn't end in their deaths.
Kagome while looking still toward the mountain felt a familiar and smiled gently it was Gandalf he had finally arrived moving quickly she waited and listened not believing what she was hearing. Thranduil would not listen to anyone even when someone was telling him that everyone here could die. Staying out of sight as Bard, Gandalf, and Thranduil moved to the old throne room and looked at the mountain.
Moving away from them she decided she couldn't stand by the side of someone who could care so little about life closing her eyes she held back the tears. Opening them again she saw the elf she had spoken to earlier and another bringing her weapons.
"Milady I hope these will do you well. We had only a few extra weapons but I hope these suit you milady." He said while held out the sword and the other a bow and arrows, taking the sword she drew it and felt it letting some of the powers course through it sheathing the sword and tying it to her side she took the bow and tested the string. Giving them a smile she nodded and spoke.
"They shall do fine thank you both now please go rest while you have a chance." She said before watching them bow and turn and leave giving a sigh she rubbed her face before moving and staying in the shadows as she again listened while Thranduil blamed Gandalf for everything and telling a guard to tell the archers to kill anything that moves on the mountain.
When Bilbo appeared and offered them the kings stone Kagome knew that everything wasn't going to help them, she sensed something on the stone and appeared at the entrance.
"Do not touch that stone." Kagome said while moving forward.
"Kagome!?" Gandalf said in surprise but happy none the less but soon looked at her when she moved forward and looked at the stone.
"Kagome?" Thranduil asked while moving around the table toward her only to stop when she looked at him and he saw something he never thought he would see, disappointment.
Looking back at the stone she moved her hand and let her powers gather in it which glowed blue and held it over the stone which to everyone could see a darkness coming from the stone.
"This stone was never meant to be found and brought from it home in the ground a darkness lays on this stone placing a curse on the family that worships it and holds it so high." Kagome said while gathering the stone in the hands while looking at them all before speaking again sending chills down all of their spines.
"A curse of death for taking it from its home greed is its trigger." Kagome said before letting her powers go enough to purify the stone which afterward glowed even brighter. Setting the stone down, she looked at all of them in sadness.
"Death is a faith none can truly fight everything dies but what you are getting ready to do is marching forward to death no one wins. Is this truly what you want? I know greed, and envy are powerful but to waste lives off it? Gandalf has spoken of an army heading this way and you do not listen I can feel a darkness coming but right now I can't tell if it is an enemy or beings before me." She said coldly while looking at them before looking at Thranduil who stood frozen in place.
"I will go with you in the morning if only to stop this war if I can but know this King Thranduil, I revoke your courtship." She said while looking at them all again before turning to leave.
"Kagome why?" Thranduil asked while looking at her in surprise while she stopped and turned her head before half turning her body.
"Life is the most precious gift giving to all I have told you about my past what life means to me but you, your highness seem to value it so little willing to kill and have many killed just to get gems. I will have no part of it I know what happens to all that fight over greed and crave power I will not be a part of it." She said before bowing her head and leaving.
As morning raised Kagome was already on a horse and waiting when the others started marching she didn't even look to Thranduil who tried to ride next to her she gently made her horse go faster.
Thranduil watched as Kagome rode away from him, he felt his heart clench he hadn't felt anything like this since his wife had died so many years ago. But, with Kagome it felt worse like his very soul was being forced from his body he decided that once this was over he would make her see reason.
Kagome did not stay with the others she was off to the side watching and listening she sensed something was coming and moved her horse toward it with her back to the mountain. She saw the dwarves come over the hill but that wasn't what she sensed bloodlust, hatred, and pure madness is what she felt. Gripping her bow she pulled her sword out and had an arrow ready. When the burst from the ground she waited as every one final noticed. Jumping from her horse she stood alone and ready. When the horns blew she pulled her string back arrow ready and let it loose.
A blue star is what everyone saw as the orcs in is path all were turned to ash that is when everyone noticed a lone woman standing there sword and bow ready. Kagome didn't wait as the dwarves started coming she kept firing arrows hoping to get the numbers down, but she didn't understand where they were all coming from. Releasing her last arrow she kept the bow in hand to use as a weapon as the dwarves appeared around her and putting up their shields. Kagome walked backwards before running forward and smiling when other elves joined her in jumping over the dwarves.
Thranduil watched as Kagome fought while he yelled orders before he and his soldiers hurried forward, he needed to get to Kagome. While still atop his elk he fought against the orcs having to take his eyes off of Kagome, he heard the men running back dale and looked over and saw that half of the orc army was heading toward the city. Giving an order and with one last look at Kagome who to his surprise was making her way toward the city of Dale, turning his elk while still ordering some of his elves to head to the city while trying to keep Kagome in his sight.
Kagome didn't wait when she heard of the city being attacked she moved killing orcs as she went the people of lake town were not fighters and there was children, elderly, and sick they would all be killed. Once inside the city she pushed her powers into her sword killing all orcs that came near her, she could still feel the lives being taken and the screams. She felt Thranduil and the other elves. She needed to end this to save as many lives as she could, swinging her sword cutting the head off of an orc she sighed before releasing all her powers. She floated just above the ground and blue flames shot outward starting to spread throughout the city, killing everything that was evil. As she moved through the city she came the people of lake town froze as she passed them some even bowed to her.
She turned when she heard the elven horn and moved toward it wonder what Thranduil was doing when she came across him Tauriel was blocking his path. Kagome heard everything and moved forward as Legolas stopped his father before telling him that to kill Tauriel he would have to kill him before saying he would go with Tauriel both turned and froze when they all saw Kagome floating hair freed from her braid with blue flames surrounding her.
"Milday!?" Tauriel spoke as everyone still couldn't believe their eyes as Kagome floated forward and gently touched Tauriel's cheek.
"Go and save the one you love. Do not listen to the words of others listen to your heart it can never truly lead you astray but remember with all joy there is sorrow embrace both and never forget." Kagome said before bowing her head and motioning with her arm for them to go.
Looking at Thranduil after they both had passed she moved toward him as the other elves looked on in wonder as Thranduil looked at her with wide eyes.
"I was going to give you my heart and stand by your side, but you could see nothing beyond your own greed I stones might have truly meant something to you. I thought life was more precious to you since you never wanted to involve your people, but I was wrong you are a coward who hides from all so no one can see your shame. You came to the people willing to wage a war but when you finally see the blood on the ground that you caused you wish to flee." Kagome said before moving away from him to continue on with helping.
"K…" Thranduil went to speak but was stopped by her next words.
"I will have nothing more to do with you continue to flee King of Mirkwood." Before she was gone from sight.
Thranduil felt like falling to his knees he had lost his son and now he had truly lost Kagome raising his head he looked back at his soldiers.
"Save as many as you can." Before moving to follow Kagome.
Kagome didn't bother to hide the tears running down her face as she moved to the center of the city and blasting out her powers killing all the orcs and others.
"Kagome!? My child stop you will kill yourself." Grandalf said while moving as close as he could to get her when she was like this he could see the wear that it was taking on her body. Before he could try to move closer Thranduil appeared and moved toward her and gathered her in his arms.
"Kagome do not leave me, everything you have said is true I have let my greed and anger toward the dwarves mislead me. But, please forgive me and still stay by my side I need you I truly love you my dearest. Your light will guide me from this darkness I have gone into, do not leave me in the darkness Kagome I could not live without in my life." Thranduil said while still holding her close not caring that Gandalf was watching he could not lose her not to his own foolishness he thought when he lost his wife he would die but he knew without Kagome he wouldn't live he would follow her where ever she went.
Kagome looked at Thranduil as he spoke and could see his soul he meant every word pulling her powers back in she held him close as he still held her to his body. Kagome moved her hands and cupped his face and looked into his eyes before leaning in a kissing him softly which he in turn returned.
"I shall lead you from the darkness my love as along as your hold and protect me from it never shall we walk alone again." Kagome said while kissing him again gently before they both looked at Gandalf who coughed gently to get their attention.
"I am happy for you both but this war is not yet over Thorin, Kili, Fili, and Dwalin have gone up the mountain to kill Azog but they will need help I have already called for the eagles." He said while looking at them.
Kagome looked at Thranduil as he looked down at her and nodded his head already knowing she wished to help and help he would.
When they arrived on the mountain Kagome could already tell they were to late she could feel the sadness even as she walked behind Thranduil while looking for Legolas who they found after words were said Kagome watched before moving and giving Legolas a hug and a gentle kiss on the cheek before speaking to him softly.
"Your father loves you he just doesn't know how to show it give him time, and I know you are too old for me to play your mother but know if you ever have need of me I will help you." She said and smiled gently when he returned her hug before leaving.
They both moved outside and saw Tauriel on the ground holding Kili while asking why it hurt so much and if this was love to take it from her. Kagome moved and kneed before her and gently cupped her cheek and looked at her.
"Love is the greatest gift we can be given in life wither it the love a family, friend, or lover but sadly pain to walks hand in hand with love. Even if he is gone hold him in your heart and he shall never leave you time heals all wounds even a broken heart, keep him in your thoughts and your heart." Kagome said while looking at her before Tauriel nodded softly and gathered Kili in her arms and walked away to return him to his kin.
Thranduil moved and gathered Kagome in his arms once more while holding her close he felt her body shake gently from the tears she let fall for others. Keeping her in his arms he stood and looked off into the distance before taking a hand and gently turning her face to his, kissing her head then her lips softly he spoke.
"Let us return home where we shall all heal my love." He said while turning and carrying her away.
"Yes, my King and my love." Kagome said while leaning against him and relaxing before drifting to sleep.
