FADE IN:

EXT. PLANET VAMPA – DAWN

VAMPA. A bleak wasteland. Appears dead, devoid of all life under the night sky. The only activity is the dust and sand blowing in the cold wind. The sun rises over the rocky horizon, the light injecting life into the land. VAMPA BEATLES awaken within their borrowed nests pocketed in the hard rocks. Dozens scurry out from their CAVES and into the open wilderness. GIANT GREEN FURRY SERPENTS rise from massive CRATERS on the surface, soaking in the sun - their fur makes the holes look like they're filled with green water. The sunlight travels swiftly across the rocky terrain, revealing all the nooks, crannies, and canyons of the hazy, orange planet until it reveals someone in the open...

Silhouetted by the hot rising sun, the air shimmering, we can recognise from the figure...

Reveal BROLY. His hands are clenched, teeth gritting together. His whole body is trembling as if he is in some anguish. A muffled voice can begin to be heard.

VOICE (O.S): Broly... Broly...

The voice gradually becomes louder and clearer.

VOICE (O.S) (CONT'D): Broly... What's wrong with you?

The question stings Broly. What is wrong with him? Why is he like this? He slowly turns his head to face whoever is behind him. Revealing his pure-white, pupil-less eyes. He knows who it is... you can almost make out a terrified expression under his torment.

Reveal CHEELEI. Standing on the far end of Broly's cascading shadow. She can see clearly what has come over him. Her face turns from concern to dread. She starts to back away slowly.

CHEELEI: No... PLEASE NO! Please don't hurt me, Broly!

Broly entirely turns to face Cheelei. His body is still trembling as if there is some reluctance. As if he is trying to fight whatever has come over him. But it proves useless. He stares directly into Cheelei's terrified, tearful eyes. The briefest hint of normality passes just as swiftly as the wind.

Broly lets out a roaring scream and charges right at her.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): NOOO!

CUT TO:

INT. BROLY'S ROOM – DAWN

Broly wakes up. Panic-stricken. Screaming. Just like he was before. Shooting straight up from his bed. Panting and sweating, awakening from a nightmare. He regains control of himself after realising it was all a dream.

His room is dark, scarcely lit by moonlight struggling to make its way down and through the window. His home is located deep in the belly of a cave. He looks out towards the cave entrance and at the dark, deep blue sky. Dawn is still upon him. Finally calmed down, he gets out of bed - he knows he won't get back to sleep. He puts on a black top while walking towards his bedroom door, quietly opening it, stepping out into the hallway and quietly closing it behind him.

CUT TO:

INT. HALLWAY/CHEELEI'S ROOM - DAWN

As Broly heads out, he walks by another door with the faint noise of snoring coming from within and takes care not to make much noise as he walks by. He heads past another room to which the door is ajar. Broly stops in front of it. Nervous to look in, he apologetically glances into the room. It's dark and unkept, but long white hair and green skin can be made out from the darkness, protruding from underneath thin bed sheets. It's Cheelei, asleep, facing away from the door. Broly holds his gaze on her for a brief moment, wistfully, then leaves.

As Broly lightens her door, Cheelei slowly opens her eyes, only pretending to be asleep - most likely wakened by Broly thrashing around from his nightmare. She turns over to look out the gap in the door to see Broly exit the house.

CUT TO:

EXT. CAVE ENTRANCE – DAWN

Broly makes his way up the hill leading out of the cave. A cold, harsh wind breezes past as he heads out - the lack of clouds does not keep the day's intense heat. He walks for a while before sitting on a nearby ledge overlooking the valley - the same spot from his nightmare, though he is unaware. He sits for a moment, staring blankly out over the landscape.

A vast expanse of perpetual rock reaching deep into the horizon and beyond. The rock formations and pillars make out the shapes of buildings, like a desolated city. Then the faintest noise of movement comes from behind... He does not turn. He knows who it is.

BROLY: Did I wake you?

It's Cheelei, stopping in her tracks, not expecting Broly to notice her so quickly.

BROLY (CONT'D): ...Sorry.

CHEELEI: No, no, you didn't. I always get up this early. You know, for my morning run.

BROLY: Run? Since when did you start running?

CHEELEI (Teasingly: I run from time to time, wise-ass.

Cheelei pops up and sits down next to Broly, looking out over VAMPA. It still amazes her that Broly has managed to live his entire life in this 'Hel'. A life that she knows she would never be able to live and wouldn't want anyone to either. She can feel the solemn mood stirring inside Broly.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): Another nightmare, huh?

Embarrassed, Broly nods.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): ...I would have nightmares too, if I had Lemo as a teacher.

Cheelei tries to lighten the mood. The jest makes both of them share a chuckle, Broly understanding her sarcasm.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): Of everything to ask for... he gets "educational" crap.

The mood lightens up, but a cold breeze quickly darkens it again.

CHEELEI (CONT'D) (Back to the nightmares) ...You're having fewer of them, though. The training with Goku must be helping...

Broly manages a thin smile - Cheelei is right, but the nightmares are not truly bothering him. It's himself.

BROLY: Yeah... I guess.

Another cold breeze chills Cheelei to the bone. She shuffles closer to Broly, who appears unaffected by the cold temperature, used to it after all these years living on the planet.

CHEELEI: If you could go anywhere... Do anything... What would you do?

A question that is entirely incomprehensible to Broly. He takes his time to think it over. Staring at the ground, hiding his perplexity... He truly has no idea.

BROLY: I... I-I don't know...

There's sadness in his answer that Cheelei picks up on. Can he go anywhere? Should he? The night sky begins to change. The twinkling stars disappear under the deep blue and purple, and the reds and oranges the sun bleeds in as it peaks over the rocky horizon. The cold air gradually gets warmer.

CHEELEI: Years ago, back in my old crew, before I joined up with the Frieza Force - oh-oh, we would get into all sorts of trouble. We were young and didn't know any better. But whenever things got too much for us. Whenever I just wanted to get away from it all. We would all go to my favourite place in the whole galaxy... Haven.

Cheelei starts to perk up.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): I miss that place so much. It's the type of place that can make you feel amazing... or like crap, depending on how your night goes.

The curiosity builds in Broly.

BROLY: What is Haven?

CHEELEI: Only the most fantastic city in the galaxy! It's on a planet called Heyelan.

BROLY: A city? Those are really big places with lots of people and buildings?

CHEELEI: Mm-hm. Buildings that reach way above the clouds and into the sky.

Broly looks pleased to see Cheelei so enthusiastic about something; she and Lemo haven't had much to do on Vampa since the incident on EARTH, and her mood, particularly, has been gloomy lately.

BROLY: What else does it have?

CHEELEI: Golden sandy beaches that go on for miles, the greatest nightclubs and music, the best food you'll ever eat... I can't wait to take you there. Trust me. You'll love it.

Broly seems confused. Does she really mean it?

BROLY: ...You would want me to go with you?

CHEELEI: Ugh yeah! Of course, I do. It'll be me n' you tearing up the place.

BROLY (Confused): Why would we tear it up?

CHEELEI: No, not really 'tear it up'. As in - we'll have a fun time.

BROLY: What about Lemo?

CHEELEI: Ugh... I guess he can come too.

(BEAT)

BROLY: Do you think I can go... I mean, should I?

It's a hard question to answer. What if it's too much for him? What if he loses control? With that much destructive power... Cheelei looks Broly in the eye.

CHEELEI: Absolutely.

They both share a heartfelt smile.

BROLY: 'Ab-so-lu-te-ly'

CHEELEI: Lute-ly.

BROLY: 'Lute-ly'.

Cheelei nudges her shoulder against Broly's.

CHEELEI: You shouldn't be afraid of yourself anymore, Broly. Because if you are, you'll miss out on all the beauty this galaxy has to offer.

Cheelei's touching words warm Broly's heart more than the rising sun. She snuggles her head into Broly's arm, and they watch the sunrise together. A moment passes, and then Broly hears heavy breathing coming from Cheelei, who has now dozed off. He gently nudges her awake.

BROLY: Hey, what about your morning run?

CHEELEI: Meh, I'll start tomorrow.

BROLY: I should get ready for my test today. If I pass, Lemo promised to give me a week off from studying.

Cheelei's eyes suddenly shoot open - like a light bulb has just turned on above her head.

CUT TO:

INT. LIVINGROOM/KITCHEN – MORNING

Piles and piles of BOOKS and PAPER NOTES are scattered around the living area of Broly's house. EDUCATIONAL BOOKS, HANDWRITTEN NOTES and TEST PAPERS - these particular ones are MATH related.

CHEELEI (O.S): Yes!

VOICE (O.S): No.

Broly is sitting cross-legged on the floor, head down, busy working on a MATH TEST on the living room table, while...

REVEAL LEMO, sitting across the room in the kitchen, keeping an eye on Broly whilst squabbling back and forth with Cheelei. Broly appears too engrossed with his test to be distracted by the two arguing.

CHEELEI: Yes!

LEMO: No.

CHEELEI: C'mon, Lemo. It'll be great!

LEMO: No, Cheelei.

CHEELEI: Why not?

LEMO: You know why. It just doesn't seem like the best idea at the moment.

CHEELEI: It's absolutely 'the best idea at the moment'. To get away from this place. To see other people. It would do us all a world of good.

Lemo doesn't answer; he keeps his eyes on Broly.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): C'mon. It's not even under Frieza's control, so it's not like we're gonna get caught or -

LEMO: - Frieza isn't my main concern.

Distraught, Lemo leans back in his chair and lowers his voice to avoid Broly overhearing him.

LEMO (CONT'D): I'm just thinking about what is best for Broly, ok. A city? Thousands of people? It might be too much for him.

Cheelei lowers her voice to match Lemo's.

CHEELEI: Or it could be good for him. Keeping him locked away in here, on this dismal rock, is no way to live, Lemo. This isn't good for him.

LEMO: Or maybe it's just not good for you? You're the one that's complaining. Is this what he wants, or is this what you want?

Cheelei bites down on her lip and frowns, insulted by the question. Perhaps it cut too deep and true?

CHEELEI: This isn't about me. (Pointing out the window) Out there... that is all he knows. Emptiness. Loneliness. He's suffered enough on this damn planet. He needs to get out of here, see new places, meet new people -

LEMO: - Cheelei, I know what you're saying. I just... I don't think he's ready for something like this yet.

He lowers his voice even more; he's practically whispering now.

LEMO (CONT'D): What would we do... if... something were to happen out there? You know, what can we do?

Lemo doesn't need to say what he means explicitly. Cheelei understands. What if Broly lost control?

CHEELEI: Nothing like that is gonna happen.

There's a hint of pride in Cheelei's answer that does little to assure Lemo, to his amusement.

LEMO: Oh really? How do you know that?

CHEELEI: Because he will be under the watchful eyes of both of us. He's come a long way since Frieza and Earth. Trust me. Nothing will happen if we both look after him.

LEMO: I still don't know Cheelei...

CHEELEI: We can do so much more for him out there than from in here. There's not much about life we can teach him from books... and tests. I'm not suggesting we move to the city, but go for a few days... like a little vacation.

Lemo is in two minds about the situation, he understands where Cheelei is coming from, and he would love to get off Vampa for a few days too, but he knows there are risks.

BROLY: I would like to go.

Spooked by the sudden appearance of Broly - they were too busy to notice that he had approached them - TEST PAPER in hand. How long has he been standing there? Did he hear their whole conversation?

BROLY (CONT'D): I would like to go... to Haven. If you think it would be good, for all of us.

Cheelei is surprised but proud of Broly for speaking up and taking action. She can't help but smile. She walks round to his side, opposite Lemo. They've made their stance and wait for a response. Looking defeated, Lemo leans back in his chair. Contemplating. Remembers a promise. He glances at Broly's test paper.

LEMO: ...Have you finished?

Completely forgetting about the TEST PAPER in his hand, Broly hands it over. Lemo proceeds to read through it silently. Broly and Cheelei anxiously wait for the results. After a brief overview, Lemo looks up at Broly, blank face... not giving away any hint. The suspense keeps Broly and Cheelei on edge.

With a straight face, Lemo raises his right hand and performs the HAND SIGN for "OK". A pass. Broly is elated - the first math test he has passed. Cheelei whoops and leaps onto him to give a big congratulable hug.

CHEELEI: Yes! Well done, ya smart cookie!

BROLY: Thank you!

Lemo lets out a smile.

LEMO: Ok. We'll go.

CHEELEI/ BROLY: Huh?

LEMO: Haven. Let's go.

Cheelei screams and jumps around excitedly, leaping right back onto Broly, squeezing him tighter around his neck. Broly looks shocked, doubting himself that Lemo would allow him to go.

BROLY: Really? Are you sure?

LEMO: Yes. You deserve it, Broly.

BROLY: Thank you, Lemo!

Cheelei runs over and gives Lemo a big hug too.

CHEELEI: Thank you, Lemo! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

BROLY: So, when can we go?

CHEELEI: I don't see why we can't leave right now.

LEMO: Whoa-whoa. We still have to get organised, Cheelei, wouldn't in a few days be better?

CHEELEI: What about tomorrow? It's not like we've got a lot to pack.

LEMO: What do you want to do, Broly?

BROLY: Tomorrow sounds good. If that is ok?

LEMO: Fine. Tomorrow it is then. But we're only going for a few days. Then straight back.

For the first time in a long time, all three look genuinely happy and excited about the upcoming journey.

CUT TO:

INT. CHEELEI'S ROOM – LATE AFTERNOON

Cheelei scrambles around her room, packing whatever clothes she can find into a small BAG. Even from what little decorative possessions she has, you can tell that this room is hers. There is a knock on her door.

LEMO (O.S): Cheelei?

CHEELEI: Yeah?

The door opens, and Lemo walks in.

LEMO: Should we tell Goku that we're going away?

CHEELEI: No!? I-I mean, why would we do that?

LEMO: Well, just as a precaution or something? Maybe he would want to come along.

CHEELEI: We don't need his permission to go somewhere, Lemo. And we don't need or gonna need his help. Broly's perfectly capable of having a fun time without him. Besides, it's only gonna be for a few days. He won't even know we're gone.

LEMO: Still, it would be nice to give him a heads-up or something. Maybe we should leave him a message?

Cheelei gets increasingly agitated at the idea of bringing Goku into the picture. She will not let him dictate what she or Broly can do.

CHEELEI: Lemo, I'd rather not get him involved. We don't need him to butt in, give his opinion, and ruin it for everyone... Broly is really looking forward to this. I haven't seen him so happy.

Lemo can see the frustration that Cheelei tries to hide, but chooses not to address it.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): Trust me. It's just going to be a nice, easy, relaxing vacation. Even you should be able to manage that. Now, Have you seen my red top?

Cheelei wants to change the subject.

LEMO: Was it not in the pile that got eaten by a beetle the other day?

CHEELEI: Oh, dammit! I forgot.

CUT TO:

EXT. VAMPA - LATE AFTERNOON

Broly walks cautiously through some high caverns. He stops at the sight of a GIANT GREEN CRATER just up ahead - where those massive GREEN SERPENTS lay. Broly observes the crater and smiles before heading towards it with even more care as if he is sneaking up on it. As Broly stealthily approaches, the ground shakes around him violently, stopping him in his path and putting him off balance. A GIANT GREEN SERPENT shoots straight up from the crater and soars towards the sky, casting an even larger shadow. Towering over Broly, it stares straight at him. Growling. Hostile. From its silhouette, we can see it's missing its left ear. Broly stands his ground. After a brief stare-down, they charge at each other. Broly flies into the air.

The beast opens its mouth, ready to swallow Broly whole, but Broly evades it. The creature continues the pressure, with Broly narrowly dodging each attack. After many attempts, dodging becomes easier for Broly, lowering his guard each time and appearing to be enjoying the fight. His arrogance becomes his undoing. Broly is caught off guard as the beast attacks rapidly, sending him crashing into a nearby cliff face. Just as Broly recovers, the creature snaps in, mouth wide-open, teeth as large as any man, looking to deal the final blow. Before Broly can react, the beast gobbles him up with a good chunk of the rock face. However... Broly holds on. Standing in the creature's mouth, preventing the beast from closing its jaw. Chunks of rock fall from its mouth like crumbs. With Herculean-like strength, Broly pushes the beast's mouth back open.

The beast roars with such intensity the rush of air would have sent a lesser man hurling away. The stench of the beast's gullet makes Broly cringe. He leaps from the beast's mouth just as it snaps shut. They have one final stare-down before they charge again at each other. Broly flies in, arms wide open, colliding in mid-air, and drives the beast down, crashing into the ground. Broly stands on top of the beast, victorious. As he stands joyous in victory, the beast licks Broly with its massive tongue, causing Broly to start laughing.

BROLY: Ok, Bah, ok. You have been training as well, haven't you? You almost got me back there.

Bah - the name of the CREATURE that Broly gave it - continues to lick him. Its giant tongue covers Broly from head to toe, almost knocking him over.

BROLY: Thank you, Bah. Listen, I need to tell you something...

Broly jumps off Bah and sits down on a nearby rock. Bah coils around the surface area, ready to listen as if it understands him.

BROLY (CONT'D): I am going away for a few days. I am going to a place called Haven with Lemo and Cheelei. It is a big city! Remember when I told you? A place with huge buildings. Maybe even as big as you!

Bah reacts as if he understands him. Broly talks to Bah like someone talking to their beloved dog and keeps him updated about all the new things he has been learning.

BROLY (CONT'D): Yeah, Cheelei says it is a really great place. She has been there many times before.

Bah reacts distastefully to hearing Cheelei's name, like a jealous dog. For whatever reason, Bah doesn't take kindly to Cheelei. He also seems to disapprove of Broly leaving too.

BROLY (CONT'D) We're going to try a lot of new types of food too. Lemo says he can not wait for something called a "Cheeseburger". Cheelei said she is going to get something called "Wasted". I Don't know what they are, but I want to try them.

Bah whines and grumbles like a dog drooling over food.

BROLY (CONT'D): Don't worry; I will bring you some back too.

Broly gives Bah a good scratch behind the ear, to Bah's delight. The two are very close. Broly's first friend. His best friend.

CUT TO:

INT. BROLY'S ROOM - NIGHT

Broly's room is very bare, not a lot of items of personal value other than a GREEN FURRY BLANKET draped over a chair - BAH'S EAR - which he no longer wears but keeps in his room - and a SELFIE STYLE PHOTOGRAPH of himself, Cheelei and Lemo smiling into the camera. Broly admires the picture for a moment before putting it in his bag - which is also very bare. Next, he grabs a corner of Bah's ear. He caresses the fur in-between his fingers. Thinking whether or not he should take it with him. He briefly remembers when his father SHOT off Bah's ear all those years ago when Broly was just a child. At how often he cried, cuddling into the ear. At how much comfort it has brought him in his life.

CHEELEI (O.S): Broly, can I get a hand with something?

BROLY: Yes, I will be right there.

Broly puts down Bah's ear and leaves it where it is—not taking it with him.

CUT TO:

INT. CHEELEI'S ROOM – NIGHT

Cheelei has recruited Broly to help her close her now overpacked bag. Even Broly struggles to zip it up.

BROLY: How have you got so much stuff to pack? What have you even got in there?

CHEELEI: You know, essentials.

BROLY: Like what?

CHEELEI: Like, stuff. Oh, I can't wait, Broly! This time tomorrow, we're gonna be in Haven! Are you excited?

Broly still struggles with the zip on the bag as Cheelei leaps onto her bed to watch.

BROLY: Yes, very excited. I can't wait as well!

CHEELEI: Good. I can wait to show you it all. I know you're going to love it. You'll probably never want to leave after.

CUT TO:

INT. LEMO'S ROOM - NIGHT

AFTER - Broly walks past Lemo's room; the door is wide open.

LEMO (O.S): You all packed, Broly?

BROLY: Yes, I think so.

Broly walks into the room. It's much more refined and neater than Cheelei's by comparison. His clothes are all neatly folded next to a small BAG on his neatly made bed.

LEMO: Good. Good. Now listen, the place where going to Broly... It is going to be very different from anything that you have ever experienced before. There are going to be a lot of people there, some nice, some not so nice. So, if you start to feel a bit overwhelmed or if it starts to get a bit too much for you, just let me know, ok.

BROLY: I will, Lemo. Cheelei has been telling me a lot about the place and the people there.

LEMO: Yeah, well, I feel like Cheelei's perceptions are slightly different from mine and yours. That's her place, her environment. She loves it; you might not. So, if Cheelei asks you to do something that you don't want to do or it makes you uncomfortable, you say no, ok?

Broly doesn't know what to make of Lemo's comment. Is it a warning? A warning about what? Haven? Cheelei?

BROLY: Ok, Lemo. I will.

Lemo pats Broly on the back as he leaves the room, still concerned for him.

CUT TO:

INT. BROLY'S ROOM - NIGHT

Broly is lying down in his bed. Unable to sleep. Illuminated by the moonlight descending from the cave. Holding onto Bah's ear, he brings it closer to his chest. Excited, yet anxious at what is about the come in the morning.

CUT TO:

INT. CHEELEI'S ROOM – NIGHT

Cheelei is lying in the same position in her bed; arms crossed behind her head. She can't wait to let loose once again in Haven. It has been far too long.

CUT TO:

INT. LEMO'S ROOM - NIGHT

Lemo is lying in bed, barely awake, his nerves preventing him from sleeping. Is this a good idea? His eyelids lids begin to flutter, and he eventually doses off.

CUT TO:

INT. CHEELEI'S ROOM – NIGHT

Cheelei's eyes also begin to flutter, and then she falls asleep.

CUT TO:

INT. BROLY'S ROOM - NIGHT

Broly finally closes his eyes and falls asleep.

CUT TO:

EXT. CAVE ENTRANCE – MORNING

Cheelei pulls a cover sheet off their ship and opens the landing door. She makes her way inside. Broly and Lemo bring the bags to the ship parked next to the cave.

LEMO: Is that everything, Broly?

BROLY: Yeah, that's everything.

LEMO: Good. Let's get going then, huh?

BROLY: Yes, let's get going!

Broly stops at the ship's door as Lemo heads inside. He turns to look out into the vastness of Vampa. A look at everything he has ever known. At home.

LEMO: You ok, Broly? Are you sure about this?

Broly continues to stare out before turning to face Lemo.

BROLY: Yeah. Ab-So-Lute-Ly.

Lemo looks impressed at Broly's improved vocabulary skills.

CUT TO:

INT. SHIP - MORNING

Broly and Lemo walk into the ship. Cheelei is already onboard sitting down. As Broly and Lemo enter, she takes a picture of them with a CAMERA.

CHEELEI: Yes! I wanted to get one of you before we left, Broly. A memory of your old life before it's changed forever.

They put the bags down and secure them for the flight.

LEMO: Did you make sure everything was turned off?

CHEELEI Yes.

LEMO: Lock the door?

CHEELEI: As pointless as it is, yes, I did.

Lemo sits down and readies the ship for take-off. Broly sits down on the seats behind Cheelei and Lemo.

LEMO: Well, let's get out of here, shall we?

CHEELEI: Woo!

CUT TO:

EXT. VAMPA - MORNING

The ship takes off, flying up and up through the atmosphere, the hazy orange and green palate of Vampa disappearing behind them. Vampa beetles scurry across the surface. Bah watches the ship as it disappears out of sight. They keep ascending until they're greeted with the starry blanket of space.

CUT TO:

INT. SHIP

Lemo sits in the pilot seat, Cheelei in the passenger seat, and Broly in the back.

LATER - Cheelei now sits in the pilot seat, Broly in the passenger seat, and Lemo in the back.

LATER - Broly now sits in the pilot seat with Cheelei and Lemo hovering over each shoulder, guiding him, piloting the ship. The ship wobbles, making sudden sharp strides to the left and the right.

LATER - Lemo is back in the pilot seat, and Broly and Cheelei are sitting in the rear seats. Broly looks out the ship's window next to him, into the immensity of space, into the unknown. Feeling the butterflies in his stomach.

CUT TO:

EXT. SHIP

A blue and green PLANET appears in the distance - HEYELAN

As they approach, gargantuan SPACE FREIGHTERS dwarfing Lemo's ship orbit the planet, taking on and off CARGO. Multiple lanes of traffic of smaller SPACESHIPS become visible, entering and leaving the planet as they get closer and descend into the atmosphere.

CUT TO:

EXT. HEYELAN - DAY

As the ship breaks through the clouds, they're greeted by a picturesque LANDSCAPE of beautiful, exotic COUNTRYSIDE, lush green FORESTS, crystal clear WATERS, and a CITYSCAPE glittering in the far distance. Broly and Cheelei look out the window, staring at all the marvellous views, ending at the distant CITYSCAPE - HAVEN.

The ship approaches a nearby STATION - a place for residents to leave their spaceships and hire a more suitable mode of transport to travel in and around the city.

CUT TO:

EXT. HEYELAN STATION - DAY

The ship docks at a landing platform. Already bustling with others arriving and leaving the planet.

INT. HEYELAN STATION - DAY

Our group walks down a long, large corridor full of shops, kiosks, and all sorts of alien life forms. Broly looks around nervously, but Cheelei turns back to him and takes his hand—the air of excitement and happiness around her calms his nerves.

Lemo talks to a CAR RENTAL EMPLOYEE behind a counter (Female, alien humanoid species) to hire a vehicle. While Lemo deals with the hire service, Cheelei and Broly stand beside a sunglasses stand. Cheelei tries on a pair of white sunglasses while gesturing for Broly to try on a vivid green colour pair. He puts them on, bemused when they darken his vision.

INT. HEYELAN STATION/ UNDERGROUND GARAGE - DAY

They walk until they find their hired CAR, but it's visibly way too small for Broly. However, they try to get Broly into the back of the car. Cheelei sees the funny side to it and snaps a quick photo of Lemo trying to squeeze Broly into the back.

Unsuccessful, they give up and head back to the car rental place. They secure another vehicle, an OLD, SPORTY-LOOKING RED CAR, with a retractable roof so Broly can fit inside it.

CUT TO:

EXT/INT. HEYELAN/CAR - DAY

With a suitable ride, they fly down a massive freeway; the multiple vertical lanes allow for much of the traffic to flow with ease and haste. Lemo is piloting the car, Cheelei sits in the passenger seat, and Broly sits in the middle in the back. All of them are sporting sunglasses - Lemo wears a bright blue pair. They fly towards a mountain with a cliff face with a vast underground tunnel carved into the façade. A sign says HAVEN just before they enter the tunnel. The city seems just on the other side of the mountain.

INT. TUNNEL - DAY

The warm air turns cool when they enter the tunnel. It reminds Broly of the cold nights of Vampa for a split second. The lights of the tunnel whiz by above. The bright light at the end of the tunnel approaches.

CHEELEI: You ready for this, Broly?

The anticipation builds on Broly's face.

BROLY: Yes.

Cheelei bites down on her lower lip, sitting straight up. Lemo keeps his cool but has the faintest of smiles drawn across his face. Glad he decided to come. The white light is now right in front of them...

EXT. HAVEN - DAY

They burst through the light. TIME SEEMS TO SLOW DOWN as Broly's eyelids can be seen backing up through his sunglasses. Cheelei grins at the familiar yet still marvellous sight. Even Lemo is in awe at his surroundings. They burst out of the tunnel and deep into the city of HAVEN.

Greeted by: endless, towering, streamlined SKYSCRAPERS of pure white and strange shapes, all different from one another; Exquisite NEON LIGHTS and signs coursing through the city; ANIMATED BILLBOARDS reaching well beyond their 2D boundaries;

VEGETATION that appears to sprout from the buildings as if they inhabited jungles. All adjacent to a GOLDEN BEACH that runs along a vibrant, almost unnaturally crystal-clear blue OCEAN. The city is teeming with various humanoid ALIEN SPECIES, travelling here from all over the galaxy for its many wonders and thrills. It's a hot spot for those looking for a good time, and it's easy to see why.

INT. CAR – DAY

Broly is in absolute wonder at his surroundings. Cheelei drinks it all in, feeling back where she belongs. She and Lemo point out attractions for Broly to see as they fly past them.

CHEELEI: So Broly, wadda ya think, huh?

BROLY (bewildered): It... It is amazing!

CHEELEI: Told ya, didn't I! Let's hope we can find a decent place to stay. Then we can cause some damage.

LEMO: The only 'damage' we're causing is to our finances. There's this place I saw getting advertised, looked pretty nice... and pretty cheap too.

CHEELEI: Lemo!

LEMO: Affordable. Relax! It's not a dump or anything; I just don't want to sink all our money into just the hotel. Heh, can't believe Frieza's currency is good out here. And while we're here, we can pick up some supplies to take back with us.

Broly is still fixating on all the attractions that pass him.

They fly alongside a long ELECTRIC BILLBOARD of an animated MERMAID swimming below the ocean. The mermaid swims beside them as they fly past with fiery red hair and glistening green-purple scales.

Broly watches her as she twists and turns, elegantly gliding through the water. The mermaid looks at Broly as if it can see him. She waves at him joyfully, beckoning him to come with her. Confused, Broly waves back. The mermaid blows a kiss before she swims away, deeper into the background, and just as she is about to fade into the distance, an advertisement for 'DREAM HAVEN'S ELECTRIC ART' fades in along the billboard blocking any sight of the mermaid.

LEMO (CONT'D): So Broly, what would you like to do first? After we find a place to stay, that is.

BROLY: I uh... I don't know. What would you do, Cheelei?

CHEELEI: We definitely need to get some new clothes to wear! We won't have to put up with this 'stuff' for much longer. I might even get my hair cut as well, but I don't know. I kinda like it long.

LEMO: So it's growing on you? Ha!

CHEELEI: Aw, please don't, Lemo.

Lemo is pleased with his little dad joke.

BROLY: I like your hair long.

CHEELEI: Thank you, Broly! Then, we should get some decent grub. There's this place I know that serves the best Kumru. Hopefully, it's still there.

LEMO: Great, sounds like a plan.

BROLY: What is Kumru?

LEMO: They're like sandwiches. Really Tasty!

CHEELEI: This is gonna be the best trip ever!

EXT. HAVEN – DAY

They continue to fly through the stunning city. Crowds of people can be seen all along the beach, relaxing, playing games, and swimming in the ocean. The streets are swarming with others wandering the shops, sitting and chatting with each other, and consuming exotic-looking food and drinks outside restaurants. Tall, thin trees with thick, broad leaves shade those below.

CUT TO:

INT. CAR - DAY

Cheelei leans on the car door, her arms folded, and takes in the view. Broly is still fixated on everything that passes by them, whipping his head from left to right as Lemo glances at him in the rearview mirror; it brings a smile to his face.

CUT TO:

EXT. HOTEL - DAY

Lemo pulls up in front of a HOTEL. Compared to all the ultraexpensive, extravagant-looking buildings they flew past, this one stands out from its mediocrity. From a time long ago while the world passed it on. Hidden under layers of contemporary refurbishments to keep up the appeal.

CUT TO:

INT. HOTEL ROOM 134 - DAY

Lemo opens a creaky door to the room. It's anything but exquisite. Dull, bland, and plain as white rice. Nothing exciting or glamorous about it. Just two DOUBLE BEDS enveloped with beige walls and unassuming furniture and wall art, a BALCONY with a beach view that's halfway obscured by another building, an EN SUITE BATHROOM, and a TV - This is Broly's and Cheelei's room.

LEMO: And here is your room, 134.

Whatever excitement Cheelei had, it got sucked away into the dullness of the room.

Nevertheless, she makes a B-line straight for the closest bed and takes a massive leap straight onto it, landing face-first into a hard thud of a rigid mattress.

CHEELEI (Muffled): I think the beds on Frieza's ship were comfier.

Broly enters and starts to observe the room, still enticed by his new and unfamiliar surroundings.

LEMO: Well, it's not much, but we didn't come all this way to spend it in a hotel room. I'm just across from you, in room 135. Ok, so let's get ourselves settled, then meet up in the hall in about... 10 minutes?

BROLY: Ok.

Lemo hands Broly two sets of card keys.

LEMO: These are yours, Broly. They're keys to your room—one for you and the other for Cheelei. You just put them into that slot next to the door to unlock it. Don't lose them. If you do, tell me straight away.

BROLY: Thank you. I will.

LEMO: Ok, well, get your stuff unpacked, pick a bed, and we'll head out and start having some fun!

Cheelei murmurs into the bed to respond.

CHEELEI (Muffled): Mmh-hmm.

Lemo leaves for his own room, closing the door behind him.

CHEELEI (CONT'D) (Muffled): I knew he was gonna be like this...

BROLY: Mmh? What did you say?

Cheelei rolls over on the bed.

CHEELEI: Nothing, it's ok.

Broly continues to check out the room, ending on the TV; confused, he tilts his head to one side.

BROLY: What is that?

CHEELEI: Oh, that? That's just the TV.

Cheelei bolts straight up.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): Oh shit, they've got a TV!

AFTER - Broly and Cheelei sit on the bed watching TV together. Broly sits on the edge of the bed while Cheelei leans against the headboard; she looks unamused at what programmes are available. Broly is amazed at the technology. Cheelei flicks through the channels with the remote. We see all sorts of programs, from REALITY-BASED shows, SITCOMS and SPORTS. Eventually, stopping on what appears to be some TALENT SHOW with a COMPETITOR singing terribly in front of 3 JUDGES, although the audience cheers him on.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): Ugh, I have not missed these.

The COMPETITOR on the TV "attempts" to hit a high note - the terrible signing is even enough to make Broly cringe. It all gets too much for Cheelei to bear, and she switches the TV off.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): Well, we didn't come all this way to sit and watch TV. Let's get unpacked, Broly and get out there!

CUT TO:

EXT. CLOTHING STORE - DAY

A few people walk past a CLOTHING STORE; it looks like a thrift store by the variety and quality of the products displayed at the front window.

CUT TO:

INT. CLOTHING STORE – DAY

Cheelei hastily rakes through a bunch of clothes hanging from railings, grabbing one of every item. Lemo observes the clothing options more closely with Broly, looking for something he would deem 'appropriate'. Cheelei walks by a particular dress that grabs her interest, checking out the beautiful fabric and design before looking at the price tag; her interest suddenly drops; far too expensive for her. Broly looks almost lost in the store, even getting confused when bumping into a mannequin and thinking it was a real person. Cheelei comes from out of nowhere, carrying a pile of clothes stacked so high it covers her face and hurls them at Broly with determination.

CHEELEI: Here you go, Broly! Go and try these on.

LATER - Cheelei and Lemo sit patiently outside the changing rooms waiting on Broly to try on his clothing haul.

LEMO: You getting on alright in there, buddy?

BROLY (O.S): Yeah... Yeah, I think so.

Moments later, Broly draws back the curtain and steps out to unveil his new look... HIGH WAIST, BLUE JEANS, a WHITE, HIGH MIDRIFF/LOW-CUT TOP, and a bright, oversized, YELLOW SHIRT with ORANGE FLOWER PATTERNS. Broly can't make heads or tails from the outfit. After a brief bemused look over the outfit, Cheelei and Lemo give their verdict.

CHEELEI: Uhhh... No. I don't think so.

LEMO: Yeah, not for you, pal.

Broly takes the critique from Cheelei and Lemo and heads back into the changing room to try on something else.

CUT TO:

EXT. BEACH – DAY

The trio arrive at the beach, all wearing SWIMMING OUTFITS. The beach is packed with people, as it usually is. They walk along the waterfront until they find an open spot to set up and relax by the ocean. Cheelei takes Broly by the hand and walks him into the water while Lemo watches on, sitting on a beach towel applying sunscreen to his arms. Broly gingerly makes his way deeper into the water, still being led and motivated by Cheelei until he is waste deep and Cheelei has to wade in the water. Cheelei starts to splash Broly with the water. Broly returns in kind, and they start a splash fight. Broly cups his hands and scoops up some water to drink it. Cheelei tries to stop him, but it's too late. The saltwater immediately makes Broly gag, and he spits it out. Cheelei laughs hysterically at him while Broly scratches away at his tongue, trying to rid the taste from his mouth.

CUT TO:

INT. CLOTHING STORE – DAY

Back in the same clothing store, Broly steps out from behind the curtain again... this time wearing a LIGHT BLUE, SHORTSLEEVED SHIRT that is just too tight for him, BAGGY, DARK BLUE TROUSERS that are just a few inches too short, BLACK SUSPENDERS, and CHUNKY SOLE, BROWN SHOES with the laces still undone. Broly is visibly uncomfortable with the tight shirt, constantly fidgeting with the collar. Lemo likes the outfit and nods with approval. Cheelei does not like it and shakes her head with disapproval.

CUT TO:

EXT. DREAM HAVEN'S ELECTRIC ART - DAY

Our trio head towards a large multi-coloured building. A SIGN on the buildings reads 'DREAM'. Crowds of people hang around outside the building.

CUT TO:

INT. DREAM HAVEN'S ELECTRIC ART – DAY

Our group walk around an IMMERSIVE, EXPERIENTIAL ART EXHIBITION. All the surfaces, from the floor to the ceiling, COME ALIVE with colour and nature in a trippy, meditative, yet gorgeous exploration of art. A few other people are wandering around inside the exhibit. Broly, Lemo and Cheelei continue to explore, interacting with the immersive features. They walk into a large exhibit that combines ELECTRONIC and NATURAL ART about nature. The MERMAID from the advertisement can be seen swimming around the exhibition. Broly recognises her and waves, but she doesn't take notice of him. They walk into another exhibit section full of exotic VEGETATION and PLANT LIFE. The green shimmer of the RUSTLING LEAVES directs their path. A beautiful, enticing plant grabs Broly's attention, mesmerising him. THICK, MUSKY, BLACK-PURPLE LEAVES with LONG, BLACK, TENDRILLIKE BRACTEOLES drooping down the wall and spreading across the floor. BRIGHT PINK PETALS bloom in the centre of it. Broly walks towards it, feeling drawn to it and reaches out to touch it... the plant suddenly snaps shut, the tendrils coiling and flailing, reacting to Broly's presence, startling him. Its beauty now transformed, twisted, into a vicious predator. Lemo approaches Broly.

LEMO: A Vlermuis Droseraceae. Beautifully tempting... but ultimately dangerous. It lures poor unsuspecting bate in with all its charms and beauty. Then before you know it... goner.

Broly and Cheelei continue to run around, interacting with features like kids playing on a giant touchscreen.

CUT TO:

INT. 2ND CLOTHING STORE – AFTERNOON

Now inside another clothing store, a pile of BAGS and BOXES is next to Cheelei and Lemo. The store is darker and dingier than the other one. Broly steps out from behind the curtain, this time wearing TIGHT, RED LEATHER TROUSERS and a matching JACKET with a RED X LOGO on the back, BLACK LEATHER BOOTS, and a BLACK LOOSE-FITTING TOP. Cheelei excitedly runs over and puts a pair of BLACK SUNGLASSES and a GOLD CHAIN on Broly - an outfit that she put together. She claps with enthusiasm at her outfit choice. Cheelei shows Broly a few poses for him to try, but no matter what pose Broly does, it just looks gawky on him. Lemo shakes his head with disapproval. He gives Cheelei a bemused look, and she starts to see that the outfit is not suitable for Broly.

CUT TO:

EXT. OUTDOOR RESTAURANT – AFTERNOON

Our trio sit at an outside table of a tropical-looking RESTAURANT. 3 massive PLATTERS of food are placed in front of them. They're all in awe at the wonderous, mouth-watering food in front of them. Broly and Cheelei, without hesitation, start digging in, shoving handfuls of food into their mouths with their hands before Lemo interjects and reminds them of their manners and table etiquette.

CUT TO:

INT. THIRD CLOTHING STORE – AFTERNOON

Inside another clothing store, very contemporary, bright, and modest looking. Broly steps out from behind the curtain... wearing a NAVY SHIRT with ROLLED-UP SLEEVES and PINK FLORAL PATTERNS, a WHITE TOP underneath, BLUE JEANS, and WHITE TRAINERS. Even trying some of the poses that Cheelei taught him.

Cheelei and Lemo look relatively surprised and impressed, giving a nod of approval. Even Broly looks like he is satisfied with the look.

CUT TO:

INT. HOTEL ROOM 134 – DUSK

Broly and Lemo both lay on a bed watching TV. Broly has got on the same outfit from the last store. They are both watching a SLAPSTICK-STYLE comedy show that Lemo can't stop laughing at, even Broly even finds rather amusing.

Cheelei is applying lipstick in the en suite bathroom, preparing for a night out. She has put on a DARK-DYED FRONT COWL DRESS, a BLACK LEATHER WAIST BELT, with BLACK THIGH-HIGH BOOTS. A STRAP from the dress has been wrapped around her neck, acting as a CHOKER. Her hair has been tied up in a bun at the back with loose strands forming bangs - She looks almost like a different person. Cheelei walks out of the bathroom and shows off her outfit to the boys. Broly and Lemo are almost taken aback by how different she looks.

CHEELEI: So, wadda ya think? How do I look?

LEMO: Wow! Is that you, Cheelei and not the famous actress Lucy Warez?!

CHEELEI: Ha-ha. Very funny. Suppose anything would be better than those battle suits we had.

Broly looks red in the face. She looks so different... So pretty...

BROLY: Y-You look really nice, Cheelei.

CHEELEI: Awww. Thanks, guys.

Cheelei heads back into the bathroom to finish getting ready.

BROLY: Are you sure you don't want to come to Lemo?

LEMO: Nah, I'm beat. It's been a long day for me.

CHEELEI (O.S): Worried we might cramp your style?

LEMO: Ha! More like cramp your style. (To Broly) Are you sure about this, Broly? It's been a long day for you. Are you feeling up to it?

BROLY: Yeah, I feel fine. I can't wait! And Cheelei is looking forward to it too.

CHEELEI (O.S): That's the spirit, Broly!

Lemo lowers his voice so Cheelei can't hear him.

LEMO: Cheelei won't be upset if you change your mind. You don't have to go out if you don't want to. There is always tomorrow night. Are you sure?

BROLY: Absolutely.

The light in the bathroom turns off, and Cheelei struts out, ready for the night out. Broly and Lemo stand up off the bed.

CHEELEI: I can't wait for this! It's been far too long.

LEMO: Remember what I said, nothing too crazy, ok.

CHEELEI: Take it easy, Lemo! We're not gonna go wild or anything. It's just dancing.

LEMO: No nightclubs. No drinking. And no staying out too late.

CHEELEI: Will you relax?!

Lemo checks Broly's clothes, wiping away non-existent dust and fluff and straightening any wrinkles on his shirt.

LEMO: Now Broly, be careful. If you start to feel uncomfortable at all, you tell Cheelei immediately and come back here, ok?

BROLY: Yes, Lemo. I will.

LEMO (To Cheelei): You come right back, ok?

The authoritarian parenting that Lemo attempts to pressure on them both is now irritating Cheelei. Lemo has no control over what she and Broly can and can't do. Who does he think he is?

CHEELEI (Sarcastically): Yes, dad.

LEMO (To Broly): You don't have to do anything you don't want or feel uncomfortable doing.

Even Broly is starting to feel slightly apprehensive over Lemo's constant restless precautions.

BROLY: I know, Lemo. I won't.

LEMO: Good, and remember. Have fun.

Cheelei wraps her arms around Broly's and pulls him away from the Lemo and towards the door.

CHEELEI: Don't worry; I'll make sure he has fun.

BROLY: So, where is it that we are going?

CHEELEI: Just this little quiet place I know of. That's if it's still there.

Cheelei opens the door, and they both leave. Lemo is left standing nervously in the room alone.

CUT TO:

EXT. HAVEN - STREET - NIGHT

At night the city blossoms. The vibrant neon lights and gigantic electric billboards light up the city's lower half canyon-like streets with a variety of colours, dimming as the buildings reach further up and up, soaring into the dark sky, the interior lights of the skyscrapers blend into the stars. Broly and Cheelei travel down a street arm in arm, passing by other partygoers, food stalls with alluring smells, and nightclubs with all kinds of music bleeding out into the streets. The people they pass sing and cheer and dance to the amazement and amusement of Broly. While others linger in shadows and dark alleys with leering eyes.

Cheelei leads him towards a specific nightclub. A neon-red sign reads 'HEARTBREAKER' above it, illuminated amongst the other lights of the city. Loud, booming music can be heard coming from within. A queue of people waiting to get in is formed outside. TWO LARGE BOUNCERS dressed in BLACK stand at each side of the entrance.

CHEELEI: Oh! It's changed. 'Heartbreaker'... It looks so different now.

BROLY: Is that bad?

CHEELEI: No, No. It looks much better, actually. C'mon, let's go. Hopefully, the line goes down quick.

CUT TO:

INT. HEARTBREAKER – NIGHT

Cheelei stands waiting, in a dark hallway of red lighting inside the club, for Broly as he is given an illuminated WRISTBAND - Cheelei has got one around her wrist too. The wristband lights up Blue when the band is secured around Broly's wrist. Cheelei grabs his hand, and they make their way through the dark, red-tinted hallway. They enter the heart of the club... The bottom floor is the main section of the club, and the BAR is lit up at the far back on the opposite side. A few steps lead down to the misty DANCEFLOOR that occupies the open centre, with a STAGE for a DJ to play live music, and surrounded by deep crescent BOOTHS with dark red, cracked-leather seats. Above is the VIP section, with its own PRIVATE BAR that circles above the lower floor. The club is packed with people. The music is booming with a deep bass that vibrates the ground, and the fill lights give the club a shade of red, blue, and purple.

Broly has never seen anything like this. So many people around, the dancing, the strobe lights, all leave Broly feeling somewhat overwhelmed. But Cheelei being around helps him to work through it. As apprehensive as he is, it's a new experience, and new experiences are good, he thinks. Still excited for the night ahead.

CHEELEI (Shouting over the music): So, what do you think?! Cool, right?

Broly struggles to hear Cheelei over the music.

BROLY: What?

CHEELEI: Do you like it?

BROLY: Yeah! It is really loud.

CHEELEI: Sounds good, right? Do you like the music?

Broly has never heard music like this before. He can feel the bass vibrating through his entire body.

BROLY: Eh, yeah! I like it. It sounds good.

CUT TO:

INT. HEARTBREAKER, BAR – NIGHT

Cheelei leads Broly through the crowd of clubbers. They reach the bar, which is also lined with people, and they join in behind them.

CHEELEI: Ok, so... I'm gonna get a drink. Not water or anything else you've had. A proper drink.

Broly looks at Cheelei, confused.

BROLY: Ok...

CHEELEI: Do. You. Want one?

Broly is taken aback, doesn't really know what she means by 'proper drink' initially but manages to put it together. Something that Lemo wouldn't want him to have.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): I won't tell Lemo.

Broly quickly goes over the things that Lemo warned him about, but the look in Cheelei's joyful, enticing eyes reminds him of why he wanted to come here in the first place. Hesitantly, Broly finally makes up his mind...

BROLY: Yes. Yes, I do.

Cheelei looks pleased but also rather surprised.

CHEELEI: Are you sure?

BROLY: Yes. Absolutely.

Cheelei smiles.

CHEELEI: You like that word, don't you? Don't worry - I'll start you off with something easy first. And remember, don't tell Lemo!

Cheelei wriggles her way into an empty space at the bar and waves her hand around, trying to get the BARMAID's attention; Broly stands behind her. He looks around the club while he waits, observing the wild variety of clubbers scattered in and around the club and the strange, abstract décor.

He looks towards the dancefloor; it's filled with people jumping and moving to the rhythm of the music. As he watches, the dancers part open one by one - as if it was intentional - revealing an exceptionally beautiful WOMAN dancing bewitchingly. TALL, BUXOM, but SLENDER FIGURE. Her SHARP, almost ILLUMINATING, LILAC IRIS pierce through her dark eyes. Her hair is an equally DARK, BLACK-PURPLE that reaches down to her waist, with LONG EARS as sharp as knives protruding from within. Her FRECKLED SKIN is a shade of PALE BLUE that looks like it glistens when she moves under the lights. She has the attention of a lot of other dancers on the floor. They try to impress her... unsuccessfully. Broly looks on, transfixed. The WOMAN seductively twists and turns with the music. She looks over towards Broly's direction, catching him watching her. They lock eyes. Frozen at her beguiling yet malevolent glare, Broly's nerves suddenly overtake him, and he turns his gaze away from her. A YOUNG-LOOKING HUMANOID FEMALE BARMAID approaches Cheelei.

BARMAID: Hi! Sorry for the wait. What can I get you?

CHEELEI: Double Nessie and Barr, no ice, and... one Sunset Paradise.

BARMAID: Sure, that'll be 6.50.

Cheelei reaches into her bag and hands over money for the drinks.

CHEELEI: Thanks.

Broly casually looks back towards the WOMAN on the dancefloor. Still dancing, she turns to face Broly again as if she knew he was looking at her. Her tempting eyes inviting him over. Broly doesn't break eye contact this time.

CHEELEI (O.S) (CONT'D): Broly? Broly? BROLY!

Broly breaks eye contact with the WOMAN and turns back to Cheelei, holding two drinks in her hands.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): Here you go.

Cheelei hands Broly his drink, a LARGE, BRIGHT BLUE, TROPICALLOOKING COCKTAIL, packed with ICE and FRUIT SLICES wedged in between, and an UMBRELLA to finish off the look. Should be easy enough for Broly's first alcoholic drink Cheelei thought.

BROLY: Wow! Thank you very much.

CHEELEI: Remember, just say 'thanks'. You don't have to be so formal.

Broly smiles, remembering he doesn't have to be so pro forma around Cheelei.

BROLY: Thanks.

Cheelei Clinks her glass against Broly's.

CHEELEI: Cheers!

Cheelei takes a sip of her dark, gold-amber drink. Admiring the taste. Savouring the moment. She hasn't had a stiff drink like this for what felt like years. Broly starts by sniffing his drink, not knowing exactly what he is about to drink or even how he is supposed to drink it. Cheelei casually looks over to where Broly was staring before. Looking over at the dancefloor, she spots the WOMAN, who keeps glancing at Broly. The faintest look of displeasure passes across Cheelei's face. After much hassle trying to find a suitable spot to drink from, navigating past the ice, the fruit, and the umbrella, Broly takes his first sip of an alcoholic drink. Cheelei watches in anticipation...

CHEELEI (CONT'D): Well... How is it?

BROLY: It is... It's good!

CHEELEI: Yes! I knew you would like it. I know my drinks.

Cheelei takes another sip of her drink and looks back towards the dancing WOMAN. Angered, she knocks back the rest of her drink, wincing at the strength of the alcohol. Broly takes notice of Cheelei quickly finishing her drink and, following in her footsteps, knocks back his drink as well, ice and fruit and all, stuffing his mouth, leaving only the umbrella at the bottom of the glass. Cheelei finds it amusing.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): Steady Broly! Not so quick now.

BROLY (Mouth full): S-Sorry.

CHEELEI

It's ok. Would you like another?

Broly's eyes light up, nodding. He takes one big gulp and swallows the lot.

BROLY: Yes, please! Thanks.

CHEELEI: Yes!

She turns back to the bar and waves at the BARMAID again.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): Hey!

The BARMAID hands over the same DRINKS again, and they start to drink them immediately. Another round comes by, they grab their drinks, and Cheelei teaches Broly how to carefully 'CHEER' with their glasses. Another round, the drinks going down quicker each time. Two MEN and a WOMAN standing next to them at the bar are now a part of their drinking session.

A tray of SHOTS gets delivered this time. Two more MEN have now joined in on the drinking, and they're all given a SHOT GLASS. They all count down from 3 before knocking back their SHOTS. They all whoop after emptying their glasses except Broly, who cringes at the taste of the much stiffer drink. He manages to laugh it off with the gang. Having a fun time. Feeling a part of something. His nerves fading. The drinks are now showing signs of effect on him and Cheelei as they drunkenly giggle with each other.

Broly leans on the bar, feeling a bit light heading, and looks down the countertop and notices the WOMAN with the bright lilac eyes sitting down at the other end, with a coquettish glare and a thin smile. She takes a seductive sip of her dainty, purple-red drink. With some liquid courage in him, Broly cracks an awkward smile towards her. Cheelei glimpses his interaction with the WOMAN and quickly but nonchalantly gets Broly's attention back to her and the group.

CUT TO:

INT. HEARTBREAKER, BOOTH - LATER

Broly, Cheelei, and the GROUP from the bar have now integrated into a much bigger GROUP and occupy a BOOTH. Cheelei is talking to one of the MEN from the group from the bar; his arm leans on the red, cracked leather across her shoulder, looking intently into her eyes. Broly sits awkwardly beside her, not knowing what to do with himself. The music is too loud for him to hear what they're saying.

Broly looks over towards a COUPLE from the group, making out with each other. He looks on, tilting his head, drunkenly confused. Not knowing what they're doing. He looks around the club and spots another COUPLE making out, and another, and then another. The MAN sitting with Cheelei shifts himself closer to her, places his hand on her leg, and wraps his other arm around her shoulders, but Cheelei doesn't seem interested in the slightest and moves the MAN'S hand off her leg. The MAN persists in flirting with her and puts his hand further up Cheelei's inner thigh. Broly turns and notices what the man is doing. It's similar to what all the other people he saw kissing were doing. In the blink of an eye, Cheelei quickly grabs the MAN by the wrist and twists, wrenching his arm; a few glasses get knocked off the table in the stir.

CHEELEI: Take a hint, you creep!

Cheelei throws the MAN out of the booth. Flipping him over the table and landing with a hard thud on the floor. Everyone around stares and laughs at the MAN. Broly drunkenly looks on, more confused and shocked.

BROLY: Cheelei, What is going on?! What is wrong?!

CHEELEI: It's alright. I'm fine. Just some handsy asshole!

The TOUCHY MAN picks himself up from the ground, looking embarrassed, and is now enraged by the altercation.

TOUCHY MAN: YOU BITCH! What the hell was that?!

He approaches the booth, shouting and screaming abuse at Cheelei, but Broly, now visibly angry, stands up to get in between him and Cheelei. Despite his much smaller stature, the TOUCHY MAN gets right in Broly's face.

TOUCHY MAN (CONT'D): Oh, you wanna go 'big man'? You wanna go!? What you gonna do, huh?

The TOUCHY MAN attempts to push Broly, but it's like pushing a brick wall, and he only pushes himself backwards, staggering back into a crowd of people and falls down again. Broly didn't move an inch. Cheelei is hit with the sudden realisation that Broly is now looking angry, and if this continues... She quickly grabs his arm, pulling and coaxing him back down to the seat. Talking to him softly but confidently. Like it's not the first time. The shock sobering her up, but only just a little bit. Broly doesn't take his eyes off the MAN.

CHEELEI: Broly, Bo-Broly, it's ok. It's ok. I'm fine. Look at me. Hey, hey, look at me. I'm ok—nothing to be upset about.

The MAN is escorted away from the booth by others from the group. Still shouting nonsense towards Cheelei.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): Don't worry about assholes like that guy, ok. I can take care of people like that. Are you ok?

Broly still stares intensely at the MAN as he gets dragged away, but when he finally looks at Cheelei, he calms down.

BROLY: Yeah. Yeah, I'm ok.

Cheelei rubs Broly's arm, the fun they were having now dampened by the altercation. Cheelei contemplates what just happened. Was that a close call?

It was just an asshole, nothing to be concerned about, right? Should we leave? Nothing bad would have happened anyway. But still...

CHEELEI: I think we should go...

BROLY: Are y-you sure? I feel fine, really.

CHEELEI: I know... but I think that's enough for one night. Don't want Lemo to worry about us.

Broly nods. He feels that this is all his fault. That he is the reason why they're leaving. I wasn't angry, was I? I wasn't going to lose control, was I? They both leave the booth, and Cheelei leads him to the entrance. As they leave, they walk past the dancefloor; Broly looks towards it.

BROLY: You know... you never did get to dance.

Cheelei stops. Turns around. And smiles.

CUT TO:

INT. HEARTBREAKER, DANCEFLOOR – SAME

They both wade their way through the crowd to an open section on the dancefloor, and Cheelei begins to show Broly how to "dance". As they're both rather drunk, it's not much of a dance; they're merely bouncing to the beat of the music. Cheelei breaks the repeating jumping by throwing out some complex dance moves that Broly tries to copy. As they both dance away, through the bobbing heads and bouncing bodies, Broly glimpses sight of that WOMAN again on the dancefloor. Her wild, black-purple hair flowing, drooping in front of her face. Her piercing lilac eyes grab him like talons grasping onto prey. Broly's attention is taken away from Cheelei. Drawn to her as if under some spell. He shuffles towards her and away from an unaware Cheelei, still awkwardly dancing by herself. Broly is drawn in closer and closer until he comes face to face with the WOMAN. She is almost as tall as he is.

BROLY: ...Hi.

She doesn't answer him. The WOMAN intimately looks Broly over with a wicked smile as she sways her way around him.

Another MAN - part of the drinking group at the bar - spots Cheelei dancing by herself and fancies his luck at making his move on her. The MAN approaches Cheelei from behind and starts to dance with her, placing his hands on her hips, embracing her. Cheelei looks stunned, still unaware that Broly is gone. Thinking it's him. A moment passes before she accepts his embrace and places her hands over his, leaning back into him. After a brief intimate moment, she slowly turns around, expecting to see Broly but is shocked, yelping at the sight of the stranger. She pushes the MAN away, grimacing, and looks around to find Broly.

CHEELEI: BROLY! BROLY!

She starts to panic as she struggles to find Broly. Frantically squeezing her way past the crowds on the misty dancefloor. Still shouting out his name, but the music drowns it out. She gets more and more hysterical. Believing he is lost. Thinking of the worst. Eventually, she finds him... with her. That WOMEN from before. Together. The sight of them two together enrages her. She storms up and barges in between them.

CHEELEI (CONT'D): Broly!

BROLY: Cheelei!

CHEELEI: C'mon, we're going back.

She attempts to lead Broly away, but the WOMEN snatches him back from Cheelei's grasp, causing her to turn around.

WOMEN: I think he would rather stay here.

Her soft yet commanding voice is as exotic as it is hypnotic.

CHEELEI: Listen lady, you better back off!

The WOMAN saunters over to Cheelei. Towering over her.

WOMEN (Smug): Why? Is he yours? Why don't you run away little girl? And I'll look after your friend tonight.

The WOMAN sniggers at Cheelei. Annoyed by all the events of the night, her blood boiling, Cheelei responds by cocking back her right arm and punching the WOMAN in the face, sending her flying back into a bunch of clubbers dancing. Broly interjects and tries to get Cheelei to calm down. The WOMAN picks herself up, and from out of the crowd, she hurls herself at Cheelei. Landing a punch to the left side of her face. Everyone around is now watching the commotion. Some try to hold back the WOMAN while Broly holds back Cheelei.

CUT TO:

INT. HEARTBREAKER - UPPER BALCONY - SAME

A WAITRESS with long green hair carries a tray of GLASSES and an expensive-looking CHAMPAGNE BOTTLE to a PRIVATE BOOTH in the upper VIP section. It's filled with well-dressed MEN and WOMEN. A TALL, LEAN MAN, with SLICKED-BACK BLACK HAIR, BRONZE

SKIN and a GROOMED THICK BLACK STUBBLE, grabs the CHAMPAGNE BOTTLE from the ice-filled bucket and pops the cork to the CHEER of everyone around, the bubbling foam drizzles down the side as he begins to pour them all a drink.

MAN (To the waitress): Thanks, Miray.

MIRAY: You're welcome, Boss.

The MAN raises his glass high in the air.

MAN: Great job, everyone! Get these down you! Şerefe!

GROUP: Şerefe!

The group all raise their glasses and take a drink. The MAN steps out of the booth and heads over to the railing. He leans over and looks down towards the lower floor, surveying the area. He takes a sip of the expensive champagne. A disturbance on the dancefloor catches his eye. He spots the WOMAN, getting held back by security, screaming towards someone. He breaks a smile at the sight of her and shakes his head lightly... up to her usual antics again.

His gaze shifts to whom is on the other side of her wrath... To find Cheelei - also getting dragged away by security with Broly by her side. His eye's slowly open wide. His glass slips from his fingertips and smashes on the floor. The group behind taunt him for his clumsiness; he turns around to shrug it off and play the fool. He turns back to look at Cheelei. In Disbelief... It's her! It's really her! The MAN's face turns to relief. He can't believe it. She's here!
