Michael's Baby Girl
Today was Chrissies eighteenth birthday and Michael couldn't believe how quickly his baby girl was growing up. Lincoln had laughed at him of course when he had ranted to his brother how he felt his daughter was slipping from him, soon she would be leaving home, getting married, leaving him.
Now as he sat in the living room, he caught a glimpse of his baby girl strolling down the stairs. He was taken back, he had never realised just how much she was looking like her mother each and everyday. Her long brown hair cascaded past her shoulders, swaying behind her back in light curls as she walked, her eyes, that perfect mixture of blue and green…his baby girl.
Chrissie spotted her father sat in the living room and knew that she had to tell him, she wasn't sure how he would react, but he had to know, she couldn't keep this from him any longer, she kept reminding herself that she's eighteen now, she can do what she wants, but she still felt the need to stay as his baby girl, no matter how old she became, but this had to be said.
"Hey Dad, there's something I need to tell you" Chrissie spoke up nervously as she slumped herself into the opposite chair to her father.
Michael looked into his daughters eyes and heard her words, his heart leapt to his throat, what could it be? He had never seen his daughter so nervous about telling him something before, it must be serious.
She's pregnant! That was the first and only thing to pop into Michael's mind before Chrissie even had the chance to inform him of what her news was.
His face was showing multiple emotions all in the space of a minute.
He couldn't believe his daughter could be so irrational, she was only eighteen, her whole life ahead of her, she can't be pregnant, she still had to finish school, she still had a life to live.
He reminded himself that Lincoln had been in the same position when LJ was born and he turned out ok, sure his son had been used against him and almost killed, but he always came through, he was always a good father despite the young age he had him. He was sure his daughter would be able to do the same, besides she had her parents to help her, he knew that Sara and himself would never leave her, they would always be there to support her no matter what.
He was finding it easier to breath, his mental debate in the course of a minute had consisted of denial, debate and conclusion, he was ready to hear this now, he was ready to hear he was going to be a grandparent.
"What is it baby?"
Chrissie sighed, delaying her words. "I want a tattoo Dad"
Well? What did you think?
Did you find this as funny as i did, even if you didn't let me know what you thought, i luv to hear you views :D
