My name is Sesshomaru and this is my story of how I moved from Edo Japan to America and what happened to my family and me. The reason we had moved to America was to get jobs, for most of the jobs in our part of Japan were gone.

When we were sailing over, we experienced many unfortunate events. The ship was not very big so everyone was cramped into a small space. Some people would get sick and throw up out the windows and over the boats railing if they could get on deck. My little stepbrother Inuyasha sat on my lap, so he wouldn't get sat on or bumped into, crying at the violent waves and people bumping into us.

A storm rolled in that night. People started to scream and yell in different tongues and started to fall into and on people. My family and me had been lucky enough to have gotten a seat by the wall and next to each other. The food we and the other people and families had brought was either rotten to the point of being uneatable or had sea-water all over it. My father brought my Mother, Izayoi and pulled her close, as yet another person fell towards us. It was hell.

As we got to a place called Angel Island, we were pulled into a huge room to be examined. As each of us were examined head to toe, and pulled behind a screen to check different parts of are bodies. As we walked towards the exit of the room our mother was pulled into a different room. We were pushed into the room most of the people were going into.

My brother grasped my arm and both of us were brought with my father to a room with cots laid sided by side. My father pulled Inuyasha onto his chest and me to his side. We tried to sleep but at times during the night, we would wake up to people crying or the whining of children.

The next day we were pulled into a room with everyone else and to a table with two men sitting there. One man had a paper and pencil, the other asked both of us our names, then date of birth, then other family and personal information. Question after question for each of us all the same, yet different. Inuyasha was not used to being asked so many questions and I swore I could hear the wheels in his head stop and blow up. Finally we were dismissed and brought back to our father who held us close and rubbed our heads as we were guided out of the room.

Finally, we were let outside into the warm bright sun and blinding light. We were told once we were outside that our mother had to go back for Conjunctivitis. Inuyasha broke down crying, but we moved along and exchanged our Yen, except for the coin that Inuyasha had from his mother.

After days of being held in this small little center, we were finally free. We took a train ride out to San Francisco. When we got there a few weeks later, and opened a ramen shop.

We met most of the people we knew from Edo there, and even some people who had helped us get through Angel Island. So now two years later we still are here in this same spot and running the same shop.

"Sesshy, what are you doing?" I look across the bed to my lover/brother InuYasha.

"Just remembering how we got here." His smile dropped and he looked around before leaning in.

"Do you think Kaa is okay?" I looked down to him, a gentle smile over my lips.

"Oh course, she did. Kaa's tough, she's most likely happy and thinking about how great we must be over here."

My brother rewarded me with a hug, and with that we both fell asleep so we could get up in the morning and work at our Ramen shop that is known around the country.
