Hanabi had never really liked her family, mostly because they had never really liked her. She didn't care that the Hyuuga family were the owners of a very successful company because her farther was so caught up in work that he only had enough time for one daughter. She didn't really care that everyone saw Hinata as a sweet and innocent little girl that was shy and harmless because Hanabi knows that her older sibling hates her more then anything.
The only part of her family that Hanabi ever cared about was her cousin Neji. Neji didn't have parents anymore, they both died when Hanabi was too young too remember. If Hanabi's mother had been alive she was sure that she'd care for her too but she died during child birth.
That's why Hinata hated her, why her older sister sent evil looks and ruined her belongings, Hinata blamed Hanabi for the death of their mother.
So one night the youngest Hyuuga ran away out into the cold night, she guessed that the only reason she got away was because no one would go looking for her. Hanabi spent the night in a dumpster because it started to rain. That's where he found her, with his soaking wet brown hair and his concerned eyes focused on her shaking form. He helped her out and covered in a much too big hooded jacket before walking her to an abandoned building in the slumps of town.
A brunette girl quickly ran towards her and placed her hands on the Hyuuga's shoulders and looked her dead in the eyes.
"What's your name?" her tone of voice gave nothing of her intentions away but the brunette's eyes suggest great concern. "My name is Tenten."
"M-my name is Hanabi," she wasn't nervous, she merely stuttered from the cold.
"What the hell Kiba?" a dark haired boy questioned with a cold tone. "You do realise who she is, Hanabi Hyuuga, what the hell did you do, steal her?"
"She's not an object Uchiha," Tenten harshly retorted.
"I didn't steal her, I found her sleeping in a dumpster," the brown haired boy, obviously Kiba, replied. The dark haired boy stares at her for a moment.
"Why were you in a dumpster?" Tenten questions. Hanabi pulls the jacket tighter around herself, because it's cold and the jacket is warm. Warmer then anything she was ever given by her farther.
"I ran away," she mutters.
"They'll be looking for her," the dark haired boy comments.
"No, they won't," Hanabi quickly adds, she notices the blonde standing next to the dark haired boy. "Don't send me back." The blond smiles at her, a smile that is almost as warm as the hooded jacket she holds tightly around her.
"Don't worry," Tenten begins and her voice makes Hanabi turn her head to look her right in the eyes. "We won't send you back," she finishes with a soft smile and warm eyes. Hanabi smiles weakly back, and is amazed by how comforting people can be, and for the first time Hanabi almost feels like she belongs.
