Hello everyone… I know it's been a while since my last update... and I also know I'd promised it would be a long time ago… Sorry I've been busy with a lot of things… I was trying to get into college… and a few other things…but here I am and we are getting to the so awaited moment… and here it goes….
"Coffee and Cake"
"Hurry up Nathan, we're going to be late" Haley said taking their entire luggage to the entrance.
"Hales… we are still two hours early… I think we are going to be just fine" Nathan answered her, taking the bags from her. He moved everything to the door so they could take everything down to the car. "Where's Luke?" he asked
"He said he would meet us downstairs… he went out for a walk or something" she rolled her eyes "you think he's going to be ok with everything?"
"Woman what do you have here?" He complained carrying a heavy bag to the elevator, then he focused on his wife's question "I think we are going to have to wait and see" he said calling the elevator "But honey, what can you expect from Tree Hill?" he looked at her.
"Drama" she answered helping him with the bags once the elevator arrived.
They went downstairs and as promised Lucas was already there, he had only one bag while Nathan and Haley had four.
"Hey" I said with a smile.
"Hi, Luke" Haley answered while the brothers shook hands and hugged.
"You ready to go back?" Nathan asked him…
Lucas shrugged his shoulders helping the cab driver to put all the things inside the trunk.
"I think it's going to be an interesting trip" Lucas said once everything was inside the trunk and they were ready to get inside the cab.
The made their way to the airport, of course they arrived more than an hour early, so they waited inside a cafeteria, reading the newspapers…
They board the plane and took their seats.
As soon as the plane took off Lucas fall asleep, he got really tense when he had to fly… which he did almost two or three times a month, since most of the times the Knicks played as visitors.
After a couple of hours… the pilot said over the microphone that they were about to land, so everyone should be sited and with the seatbelt on.
Lucas look to his side to find two empty seats, he lifted his head when Nathan and Haley came form what it seemed to be the bathrooms… Lucas rolled his eyes and smirked "You guys did it in the bathroom plane"
Both Nathan and Haley look at each other, while they took their seats and tied their belts… none of them said a word.
Nathan look at his brother and smiled "what were we supposed to do?" he laughed.
After some more minutes the plane landed, they were finally in North Carolina, after five years…. They took another cab to get to Karen's house… The three of them were going to stay with her.
"Oh my God, you guys are finally here" Karen said coming out to the door when she heard a car pull over her entrance. She quickly hugged Lucas, fixed his hair and cleaned his cheek… like all mothers did… Lucas didn't complain, even if that bothered him, it'd been a long time since he last saw his mother. They usually talked over the phone, almost everyday, but it wasn't the same.
"Hey Karen" Haley said hugging her too, then Nathan did the same thing…
"Look at you, you are all so grown up" Karen smiled getting all of them some hot chocolate.
They talked for about an hour, Karen showed them their rooms "Ok, so… Nathan and Haley will be sharing Lucas's old room, and you son can make yourself comfortable up in the attic" she said tapping his chest.
"Great" he told his mom "thanks, Mom" he smiled to her. God she missed that smile.
"Ok, so now I have to go back to the café, you guys finish here and then we can meet over there for dinner" she said, and everyone agreed.
Karen left to the café and the guys stayed in. They put all their clothes inside the wardrobe and took turns to take a shower.
It was almost eight o' clock and they were ready and dressed nicely to go and have some dinner.
They took Lucas's old truck, which by the way, Karen hadn't sell, and made their way to the Café…
"So, how is life treating all of you?" Karen asked the young faces sitting in front of her.
"Well… actually it's been great" Nathan said "Lucas and I are paid to play basketball, we get to know all this new places, have this fancy hotel rooms" he laughed.
"Yeah, and probably the worst part of it is that you are married, right?" Haley said kicking his chest. "Ouch… you didn't let me finish" he complained "the best part of it, is that I get to share this with my wife" I said now smiling and looking at Haley.
Haley smiled back and gave him a quick kiss.
"Well, why they kiss why don't you tell me what's going on in your life, son?" Karen asked Lucas, who was eating quietly.
"Uhm… Nathan covered everything… I guess… yep. We play, we have fun but most important we love what we do… and Haley gets to work on her music" he answered
"Well, that sounds exciting" she smiled "and what about those English literature classes you were taking?"
"huh" he said swallowing some food "I'm still doing it, I really like it, I get to read all these books, most of them I've already read but it's still great" he said offering her mother another smile.
"Well, I'm glad everything's going so well" she said putting all the dishes together once they were finished "Oh you two come on" she laughed at Nathan and Haley who were still kissing and talking in a low voice.
"Sorry Karen... uhm let me help you with that" Haley chuckled and offered her help.
"Thanks I would appreciate that" she said taking part of the dishes to the kitchen while Haley took the rest of them.
Both couples got out of the restaurant laughing and chatting, David and Jake were getting a long very well, something that pleased Brooke very much.
"Hey why don't we go and have a cup of coffee?" David said
"Oh, I think we should get going home, Jenny's with a new nanny and I don't trust her much" Peyton laughed
"Oh come on, P. Sawyer soon to be Jagielsky" Brooke pout, which made everyone laugh.
"Sorry Brooke but I must take this beautiful bride to be home" Jake said
"Oh, just admit you don't trust that nanny either"
"I do trust the nanny, honey" he said making Peyton to roll her eyes…
"Well in that case" David chuckled "I guess we'll see you guys tomorrow" he said shaking hands with Jake.
"Do you really have to leave?" Brooke whined
"Yeah, it's pretty late" Peyton told her best friend
David wrapped and arm around Brooke, while everyone said their goodbyes.
Jake and Peyton were now gone, leaving David and Brooke alone, walking in a very beautiful night.
"We can still go for that coffee, what do you say?" David asked her.
"I say we better go" she smiled resting her head on his shoulder…
They walked around town looking for a good coffee house…
"Is it always this nice and peaceful around here?" he asked his girlfriend.
"What? Town? Oh… no… actually it's never like this… or at least it wasn't" she answered, thinking on how much everything might have changed.
Without noticing they entered the first café they found… and as soon then were inside Brooke could tell she knew this place very much… it was really familiar…
To her surprise when she was about to say something to David two women came out of the kitchen…
"Brooke?" the younger one said "Oh my god, what are you doing here?" she said almost screaming, and running to hug her… Brooke was really happy to hug her friend, Haley, they hadn't talked in what seem ages… or maybe two weeks or so…
"Hales!" she said hugging her back "well… kind of obvious, isn't it.. I'm here for Peyton's wedding" Brooke explain..
"Well that I know" Haley laughed "I meant here... God it's so good to see you" they hugged again
"Oh, right Haley this is David, Dave this is Haley one of my oldest friends" she told David
"Pleased to meet you" he said shaking hands with her, too
"Me too" Haley said excited…. God this is going to suck for Lucas... she thought on the inside "well don't stay there, come here everyone's here" she said walking to their table where Lucas, Nathan and Karen were sitting, eating cake and having coffee.
David took Brooke's hand while they followed the blonde girl to the other side of the café.
"Look who I found!" Haley said to the people at the table… They all smile... specially one face which was suddenly lightened…
"Hey!" Brooke said with a big smiled at them… releasing his boyfriend's hand…
Ok… sorry I just am a little tired to keep on writing… so I'm going to continue this some other day… not to say tomorrow… cause maybe I won't have time… but this time I promise I will update PRETTY SOON… I Promise… cause I want to see myself how everything wraps up…
