I'm so so so sorry I took quite enough time… I had a lot of ups and downs lately, with my family and friends, I dropped out college… too many changes, but here I have a new fresh chapter, for the ones who are still reading :D

Thanks a lot for the reviews you'd left me, I really appreciate them a lot…

And once again I'm really sorry for all the rambling and dots I use when writing

One thing... About the letter, i know i confussed some of you, just to let this clear, Brooke send the letter like 5 months after they broke up... ( i know i said in other chapter it was less but i'm changing that, just go along with me, please :D )

Big Girls Don't Cry

Brooke woke up this morning with the sound of the shower, she looked around her room and saw she was alone; no one was beside her on the bed. Dave must be taking a shower she thought. She sat herself a little on the bed and just stayed there thinking… Everything was so strange in her inside; she had all these feelings moving around not really finding their destination.

Dave got out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist.

"Oh, morning baby… did the shower woke you up?" he asked her

She smiled at him "yeah maybe" she chuckled

He chuckled too and made his way back on bed with her and kissed her.

"hmm you smell really good" she told him and put a smile on his face while he kept on kissing her, she pulled back a little when the phone started ringing "Oh I should really get that" she said, turning to her side to grab the phone

"Hello" she said

"Hey Brooke it's me" Haley said on the other side of the phone

"Hales, what's up?"

"I… do you think we could meet somewhere... like to talk"

"Uhm, yeah sure but you are creeping me out is something wrong? Did you and Nathan have a fight?"

"No-no, we are good… actually it's something else I would like to talk to you about"

"Ok… uhm... meet me at the café in…. twenty minutes?" she said

"Yeah, thanks I'll see you there" Haley said and they hung up.

Brooke immediately put the phone down and got up

"What was that all about?" Dave asked her

"Oh sorry, Hales needs to talk to me about something and it seems it can't wait" she said

"And can't she just…tell you over the phone?" he complained "or at least wait until I finish kissing you?" that make her chuckled.

"Don't be such a whiner" she answered "I'll be back later" she got dressed with a pair of casual jeans and a soft pink t-shirt…

"I'll meet you later for lunch, ok?" she said, giving David a peck on the lips and going downstairs, she grabbed her purse and car keys and head to Karen's Café….

When she got there she saw Haley already located at a table.

Haley saw Brooke coming inside and smiled at her…

"Hey Tiger" Haley said and waved at her, while Brooke took a seat in front of her.

"Hi Hales" she smiled "so what's going on?"

"God…" she sighed "ok..." she didn't know where to begin… she looked around thinking for herself how on earth to tell Brooke that she hid the letter to Lucas…

"Haley please, what is it?" Brooke told her so she would just stop… the… silence.

"ok… fine… uhm, a few years ago a letter came to our apartment, a… a letter from you" Haley specified.

"I.. I don't want to talk about that letter, Haley" Brooke shook her head a little… She didn't want to remember again that sad feeling, it made her heart break a little more each time. And of course, Haley being Lucas' best friend knew everything about that letter; in fact maybe she had even read it.

"No, no Brooke you really need to hear this" Haley insisted.

"No I don't ok… Luke never answered that letter... and you know I thought I was over it already… it's been five years after all… but when I see him now… all I want to do is ask him about it, what he thought when he read it… why didn't he answer me… if it was over for him already…" Brooke said, while tears started to fall from her eyes…

"He hadn't read the letter yet" Haley said interrupting her… Brooke looked at her she couldn't believe how it could be possible…

"What do you mean?" she managed to say

"I… I kept the letter from him… I'm sorry; I guess I wasn't thinking… I…"

"No I guess you weren't" Brooke snapped at her "How could you do something like that?"

"Brooke, listen to me…"

"No!" Brooke stood up and started to walk away… Haley followed her.

"Brooooke, please… I thought it was for the best, you were gone and he was having a hard time getting over you" she said while walking behind her, trying to catch on with her… Suddenly Brooke stopped. "I thought that whatever that letter said, it would only give him…"

"Give him what, Haley?" she said turning to look at her… "Hope? Or a slightest idea that he and me could ever happen again?"

Haley was really sorry… and she also thought she was doing the right thing at that time.

"No Brooke, I was trying to look at this for its real side, the fact was that you were gone, miles away from him"

"So what?!?! Do you have any idea how many people stay together when things like this happens, when their dreams are so far away from each other… God, Haley… why, Why?"

"Brooke, he was a complete mess… we talked about the night you two spent at the pier… your last time together, the last time you saw each other, and he regretted letting you go every second, but he knew it was the right thing to do… and… after a couple of months once he was in a better shape you know… with his inner self… Nathan and I…"

"Nathan knows about the letter, too?" What was wrong with the world today….

"No… he has no idea… we just thought it would be great to set Lucas up for a couple of dates… you know, so we did and the day he was suppose to go out on a second date with a girl who was great, and he really liked… that letter arrives"

"So what? What makes you think you have the power to hide that letter from him, it was addressed to him, Haley... his name is on that damn envelope, damn it" she cried

"I just thought it was going to mess everything up… for Lucas and Stacey, you know… cause I knew that the very minute he read that letter, no matter what it said he was going to cancel the date, because she wasn't… you" Haley said "and he'll be crawling back into his room again"

Brooke stayed quite for once… she didn't know what else to say… Maybe Haley's reasons were a little bit logical, but still… it wasn't here decision to give or not Lucas the letter.

"I'm sorry Brooke, I know you must hate me… but I was just trying to look after him… he really was a mess"

"I don't hate you, Haley… I could never do that but… I'm really disappointed, I thought you were our number one shipper, you know"

"And I was, I'm still are… but it seemed the right thing to do then… and the other night he came to Karen's talking about you and him, and this moment you shared at that same pier" Brooke couldn't help but smile a little "and I thought that now that you were here and he was here too… then maybe you could…"

"what? Get together? Haley I'm dating David, now… you can't expect that after all this time Lucas and I just get back together… you were supposed to be the smart one!"

"oh, come on… don't tell me you don't think about it… that you haven't thought about getting back with him"

"It doesn't matter anymore Hales… I gotta go… David is waiting for me" she said and started to walk again.

"Brooke… just talk to him about it" she said meaning the letter…

"I won't Haley… cause you see… you'd nothing to worry about… he has the letter now, but still he hasn't called me or anything" Brooke said sadly…

"Just give him some time, he'll come around, I'm sure he will" Haley answered…

And with that Brooke went back to her house…. David wasn't there anymore… She went upstairs and the bed was tided up and all the clothes that were on the floor from the previous night were hanging from a chair.

She took her shoes off and crawled to the middle of her bed and once again, as she had done many times in the past she cried, with her hands around her knees, she just let the tears fall…

She finally fall asleep, only to be awaken a few hours later by the sound of her cell phone … she looked for it inside her purse which was on the floor and saw it was Lucas. Brooke cleared her throat a little bit just not to sound hoarse and as if she had just woken up… which she had…

"hi" she answered the phone. She hadn't heard from him for a couple of days…

"Hey Brooke, I'm sorry were you sleeping?" he asked… he knew her, all of her; even by just saying a simple 'Hi' he could notice her mood…

"uhm, yeah but it's ok. What's up?" she asked

"Are you sure because I can call you back" He said… actually it had taken a lot of bravery to grab the phone and dialed her number…

"No Lucas, just tell me what do you want" He still got on her nerves when he brood and rambled…

"Ok, I just kind of need to talk to you"

"ok, meet me at the river court" she said, needing to finish this once and for all….

"no, not there" The guys were playing there, Lucas knew this because he was there with them… just not in the mood to play… David was there too… since he was one of the guys now.

"Then where?"

"The pier, I'll be there at 7" he said and then hung up the phone.

Ok… Brooke thought to herself… this was it… She was about to find out what he thought about the letter… It was 6.15

She went to take a bath and when she finished she dried her hair and got change into everyday jeans and an old t-shirt…. It was 6.50 now, she had to leave before David could come home and she had to excuse herself once again for leaving him.

She grabbed her purse and walked to the pier. When she got there Lucas was sitting at the bench waiting for her… He got up when she noticed she was coming.

"hey, so… you wanted to see me" she said and smiled a little…

"yeah, I think we need to talk" He said while playing with something inside his jacket's pocket…

Which what Brooke thought should be the letter…

OOOOk, so that was Chapter 11… I really hope you liked it… I know I left it in a cliffhanger or whatever, but I was really tired :P

I used the title Big girls don't cry, from Fergie ferg lyrics, because I can't stop hearing that song… I love it… anyway…

Please R&R and I'll update sooner this time I swear!
