I AM SORRY
My first official piece of 2011. Not a very cheery one, I'll tell you that. Let's just say I did something that caused an old friend to lose their trust and respect for me.
This poem is my way of apologizing, of acknowledging my mistakes.

I know I am not perfect
But then, nobody is
There are many things I do
That I am not proud of
You looked up to me
You trusted me
And I let you down
I know not what to feel
Other than shame
And cold regret
I know not what to say
Save for these simple words:
I am sorry
I am so very sorry
