The Replica's helicopter could be seen, falling out of the clouds, and crashing one mile from the out skirts of Zaff State. Zaff state is a rather large city that is controlled by a species of reptile like beings called Sangheili or Elites. They practice the same type of culture as the early Japanese. The Elites believe that recognition is only gained by honor and bloodlines, and the less fortunate members of their society were cast aside. Kota Ahema was one of the unfortunate ones. He was not as tall as the other Sangheili, only being seven ten while most others were eight six. He was the only male of his family, and he was raised in a very poor keep. Kota did not have any friends as he was rejected by his peers for having a peach skin tone, rather than a black, brown, or gray skin color like the other Sangheili. Every day was the same for Kota. He did not have any friends, nice clothes, or hope for a better future. At least until he saw what looked like a sangheili troop drop ship fall from the sky and crash far away from the out skirts of Zaff state.

Kota, being the curious type started to walk in the direction of the crash. The three suns lit the way for Kota as he neared the crash site. As Kota inhaled he could smell an unpleasant odor coming from the burning fuel of the troop drop ship. When Kota reached the crash site, he did not know what to think. The air craft thought to be a Sangheili troop drop ship was actually a craft of alien decent. What ever it was it was ruined. Peaces of the craft were everywhere, and the only the cabin and the troop seating area was in tacked. All the materials of this craft were foreign, and did not smell like anything on Sanghelos. As Kota got closer to the alien craft he could smell blood, from what or who he did not know. On the side of the craft was a opening for a door, the door itself was lying in the sand. Kota advanced carefully towards the opening of the alien space ship. He stuck his head into the drop ship, glanced around and noticed something in the back. Kota stepped inside the craft and saw three bodies in the back. Only these bodies looked nothing like a Sangheili.

As he approached the creature's he could see where the blood had come from. Two of the creatures were dead, as their blood had turned cold long ago. But the third one was still breathing. As Kota inspected the creatures, he noticed that they had four fingers, and one thumb on both of their hands. Their legs were not double jointed, and they had short necks instead of long ones. As Kota was reaching out to take the helmet off the living being he was tackled and sent crashing into the cold red blood of one of their dead. Kota was pinned on his stomach as his attacker tried to restrain him. Kota let out a fierce roar and back kicked his attacker off him. The assailant collided with the back of the drop ship, and hit the ground with thud. Kota could see his enemy, one of the creature's he must have overlooked. Kota jumped up and sprinted for his attacker. As he lunged for the creature it kicked him in the face, stopping him dead in his tracks. Kota hit the ground dazed, as purple blood leaked from a gash on his head. The assailant used Kotas disability to restrain him. Kota slipped away from reality as he passed out. While he slept he dreamed about having a family that was not so quick to throw him aside for his differences.

Jeff was in awe as he saw what was before him. It almost looked like a dinosaur of some type. No way it was a human, and Jeff had never heard of such a creature. It sounded crazy when he thought of it, but monster was the only real name for it. As Jeff gave the monster a second look, he noticed some distinct features. This monster had two fingers and two opposing thumbs on both hands. Double jointed legs, with hooves instead of feet, and a thick long neck. The face of the monster was almost raptor like, but the mouth had four mandibles that held many razor sharp teeth. There was some dark purple liquid flowing slowly from a gash on the things head, probably the monsters' blood. Jeff limped over to the Replica sergeant and moved him away from the creature. The sergeant was an enemy but, that thing was a monster, and Jeff wouldn't mind teaming up with the Replica, even though they killed Mike.

Jeff took the helmet off the Replica sergeant and it looked exactly like Paxton Fettel, the target he was intended to kill. Jeff tried to wake the sergeant up, but it did not work. Jeff gave up on the sergeant and moved over to the monster. Jeff was lucky he caught this thing before it got its claws on the sergeant. Jeff noticed the creature was wearing clothes. It had a shirt made of a rough material and pants. Maybe monster wasn't the right word for it, as its style of clothing was very similar to that of human clothes. The wound on the alien's head was still bleeding. Jeff got out butterfly band-aids and used them to close up the gash on the alien's head. Then Jeff put a pressure band-aid on the gash and pressed the four corners to seal the wound. Jeff then used a rag to wipe the blood away from the alien's head and face. Jeff tried to lift the alien up, but it had to weigh well over three hundred pounds. Jeff though better than to throw his back out, so he left the alien on the ground. Jeff stood up and was about ready to go back to the sergeant, when he heard the alien whimper. Jeff looked at the alien with interest, was it having a bad dream?

Kota was having a very bad dream. He was six years of age living in his home. His father, Keda Ahema had been drinking.

"Kota, come here," Keda told his son.

Kota cautiously walked into his fathers' room.

"Yes, father," Kota answered in a light voice.

"I want, you to get me, more liquor," Keda slurred.

"But father, I don't have any credits," Kota explained.

"Then steal some," Keda commanded.

"That's not right uugghh," Kota was cut off as his father grabbed him by the neck.

"You will do as I say, you discolored little freak!" Keda let go of his son's neck and pushed him back. Kota took a couple deep breaths then looked at his father.

"It will be done," Kota said with tears in his eyes. Kota left his house and started to walk to the market district. The suns warmed Kota as he made his way pass different citizens; all of them had nothing nice to say to him. Kota made his way into the market district, and started to look for the bottle of liquor he was going to steal. Kota saw liquor bottles lined up on a table. The owner of the stand was not paying attention as Kota took a bottle and put it in his robe. Kota started to back up but bumped into something. Kota turned around to see an eight foot ten sangheili honor guard standing over him. Kota made an attempt to run, but was grabbed by the back of his neck.

"What have we got here," the honor guard pulled a stolen bottle of liquor from Kota's robe. The honor guard walked over to the shopkeeper and handed him back the stolen liquor bottle. The honor guard held Kota level with his face then glared at him.

"I e..explain," Kota stammered.

"Silence!" the honor guard yelled as he threw Kota to the ground, and then kicked him." You're a disgusting little thief!" the honor guard shouted as Kota held his head. "Lets see what your father has to say about this," the honor guard picked up Kota and started to walk to his keep.

Keda was waiting for his son, getting annoyed for Kota taking so long. Someone started pounding on Keda's door. Keda stumbled over to the door and opened it, to reveal an honor guard and his son.

"This thing, was caught stealing from a shop keeper in the market district," the honor guard said as he held Kota up in the air.

"Now why would you steal from a hard working shop keeper Kota?" Keda asked his son.

"But you told me to," Kota said.

"I said no such thing you lying little worm!" Keda yelled, venom dripping from his words.

"If he is your son, you must take full responsibility for his thievery," the honor guard said coldly.

" Take him away, he's no son of mine," when Kota heard his father say that, it broke him.

"You're a liar!" Kota screamed, as the honor guard took him away. Kota was thrown in a dark cold cell, and yelled at once more from the honor guard before he walked away. Kota sat with his legs crossed crying.

"Don't cry little one," Kota looked up to see a human with black hair and hazel eyes standing over him.

"Who are you," Kota asked uneasily.

"My name is Paxton, and I will be watching over you," Paxton said as he kneeled and held the small child. A weight was lifted from Kota's hearts, as he felt content.

Kota's eye's opened slowly as he began to wake up. Koda was on the floor in the Alien drop ship. Kota tried to move his hands, but they were bound together. He looked up and saw his attacker standing next to him. Kota let out a growl as Jeff tried to grab him.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you," Jeff explained in a calm voice. Kota could make out some of the beings words spoken to him from Paxton in his dream. His words were calm and reassuring, just like the way Paxton had spoke to him. Kota let the Jeff help him up, and put him on one of the seats for the troops.

"My name is, Jeff," Jeff said as he pointed to himself. Kota looked at Jeff with curiosity. This Jeff guy has a peach skin tone, just like mine, Kota thought to himself.

"Jeff," Kota responded coarsely.

"That's right, what is, yours," Jeff asked as he pointed to Kota. Kota looked at Jeff's pointing finger then to himself and he responded.

"Kota," Kota pointed to himself.

"Kota, I want to remove your restraints," Jeff said as he pointed to Kota's hands. Kota let Jeff cut the restraints off his wrists. Kota rubbed his wrists as they hurt from being tied up.

He felt his head were Jeff had kicked him; it was covered with what appeared to be a bandage. Jeff took his canteen, a package of beef jerky out, and offered it to Kota. Kota took his offerings and gave an appreciative nod. Kota could not remember a time when someone had been so generous to him. Kota put the canteen in his mouth and drank the cool water. Then he inspected the plastic package Jeff had given him. Kota opened the package, and the overwhelming aroma of the fresh smelling meat made him sneeze. Kota picked up a peace of the enticing meat and tired it. This was the best meat Kota had ever had the pleasure to eat. Kota was so busy eating the jerky he did not notice Jeff staring at him.

"Sorry," Jeff said as he stood up and limped to the Replica sergeant. Kota's eyes followed Jeff as he kneeled over one of his friends. Kota got up and walked over to Jeff. When Kota saw who he was tending to, he froze. The person Jeff was trying to wake up was Paxton, from Kota's dream.

The Replica sergeant woke up and punched Jeff in the face. Jeff fell back from the blow holding his cheek. The Replica jumped up, and was about ready to jump on Jeff, until he saw Kota. Kota lunged and grabbed The Replica known as Paxton and held him in a tight embrace. When Paxton tried to get loose, Kota would hold him tighter. Soon Paxton stopped struggling and calmed down.

"I've seen you in my dreams," Paxton told Kota in his species language.

"I have seen you in mine too, what kind of demon are you?" Kota asked perplexed.

"One that can manipulate people," Paxton stated. Jeff had recovered from Paxton's punch and limped up to Kota who was holding him.

"If I let you go, will you be calm?" Kota asked Paxton.

"I will make no guarantees" Paxton responded.

"Well, If you do try anything, I'm going to shoot you," Jeff said as he pulled out the handgun he had taken from the Replica. Kota let Paxton go, and backed away. Paxton walked to the two of his soldiers that had been killed by Jeff.

"No mercy," Paxton said as he inspected the boot party victim.

"Well Mike did not get any either," Jeff said it hotly.

"True," Paxton agreed.

Kota looked outside one of the windows of the Replica helicopter and noticed the suns were starting to fall. Kota knew there were dangerous animals that lurked at night on Sanghelos. Paxton could read Kota's thoughts, and spoke for him.

"It is no longer safe to stay here," Paxton told Jeff. Jeff looked at Kota and he nodded in agreement. Jeff, Paxton, and Kota exited the Replica helicopter. The setting suns covered the trio in an orange red light, as they started their journey to Zaff State.
