The next morning I woke to the feel of a hand running through my hair. I smiled and slowly opened my eyes. Revealing a mop of blonde hair. "Morning." I mumble groggily.
"Morning." was the angelic response. I could get used at hearing his voice first thing in the morning. It was lovely. "Did I wake you?" he asks me
"Yes." I reply, relaxing into his touch.
"Sorry." he apologizes.
"Never said it was a bad thing." I mumble.
"Glad to hear." he replies. "You know we should get up. Well at least I should, my turn to make breakfast."
"Can I help?" I ask, looking at him with the best puppy-dog eyes I could pull off.
"Sure." he replied with a smile. "Does this feel as much like a dream to you as it does to me?"
I nod at him. "Yeah, but I'm pretty sure it's not."
"Why?" he asks.
"I'd have woken up long ago." I tell him. He smiles at me and makes to get up.
"Can't believe we didn't change for bed..." he mutters.
"Who cares? We'll just go take a shower now." I tell him.
"Separate, showers. I can't afford your dad catching us." he says.
"Why?" I ask him, saddened he wants us to stay a secret.
"It'd probably cost me more than my job. I'm sure he'll kill me for 'fagging up' his son." he says looking downward.
"I won't let him lay a hand on you." I tell him firmly, "And you know there's no such thing as 'fagging someone up'."
"He doesn't."
"Screw him. You're more important to me." I say. To which he smiles.
We showered, got dressed and went to the kitchen to make breakfast for everyone.
As we were busy, my mom walked in.
"Hey Honey, you helping out again?" she asks.
"Not just helping, he started on Lunch already." Kendall chuckled.
"Lunch?" She questions then sees what I'm cutting up. "ooohhh you making that for lunch?" she asks next, a glint of hope in her eye.
"Yes mom, I'm making that for lunch." I assure her to which she squealed in delight.
"You know, it's time you gave it a name already." she says.
"When I think of one I will." I tell her. You see, I've helped around in the kitchen lots of times, even before Kendall came working here, the previous chef taught me the basics, and from there I developed my own special dish. Although I have yet to name it.
"Well I'll look forward to Lunch then, now I have to go, bye-bye honey." she says giving a kiss to my cheek.
"Bye mom, Love you." I reply, still busy with cutting.
"How can you do that so fast and not cut yourself?" Kendall asks when she left.
"It's easy, the old chef taught me before he... passed on." I tell him. "He loved his job very much, and he let me help out a lot, saying I was his favorite student. Though something tells me I was his only student." I continue with a chuckle. "Wanna try?"
"Nah, I'll end up cutting my fingers." he says.
"Come here." I grab his wrist and pull him in front of me. I put the knife in his hand and stand behind him, my arms over his guiding them. Showing him how to do it. "See? Just do this, but then in a faster tempo." I tell him. "Come on, try it. I'll pull them away if you're about to cut yourself."
He does as I shown him and he looks amazed as he does so and indeed doesn't cut himself in the finger.
"Wow... it is pretty easy..." he says amazed.
"See? Told you." I tell him and give his cheek a peck. He turns his head to smile at me and I peck him on the lips.
Someone cleared their throat and both of us froze.
"Knight , what are you doing with my son?" A deep voice said, venom dripping form it when they called Kendall by his last name. I felt him stiffen. I turned around to face him.
"He is helping me make my lunch recipe, father." I say, my mouth dripping with venom also when I address my father. He just glanced at me before glaring at Kendall again, who has yet to turn around.
"Knight, may I speak-" he started to say.
"No." I cut him off firmly. Kendall looked at me with wide eyes. My father looked at me, a little surprised.
"I clearly recall mother saying not to use our staff as your personal punching bags." I say, ignoring Kendall's muttered 'Don't'. I look my father straight in the eye with confidence I never knew I possessed.
"Don't talk ba-" he stated, only to e cut off by me once again.
"I will talk back to you. And don't even think of saying it's none of my business, because if you beat my boyfriend, it becomes my business!" I tell him with finality. I hear the knife Kendall was holding clatter to the floor after the words left my mouth, I could see his surprised look in the corner of my eye.
My dad looked taken aback by my outburst, but was quick to aver his gaze to Kendall, a glare set on his face directed at him.
"Why you vile piece of-" He started as he stepped forward, intent to kill clear on his face, however I stepped in front of him as a new voice cut him short.
"Gregory Johnathan Franklin Diamond! Out of my house this INSTANT!" I heard my mothers pissed off voice from somewhere to my right, she probably came in through the door on the other side of the kitchen, but I didn't chance looking away from my father as I held my defensive stance between him and my boyfriend. Heh... boyfriend... I like the sound of that.
His glare turned to me and I glared right back. "You're no son of mine." he says, hate clear in his voice. And for some reason... I'm not fazed one bit. I saw it coming actually. It hurt, but it's not like I want to burst out crying. With that, he left.
I turn around to face Kendall. "You shouldn't ha-" he starts.
"I do, I should have done something sooner." I say and pull him into a hug, "You okay?"
"I should be asking you." he says, searching my eyes.
"I'm fine." I say with a smile.
"Did he...?" Mom questioned.
Kendall shook his head, "No, he was about to though." Mom nodded at him and put her arms around me and him, giving us both a hug.
"Let's go eat breakfast." Kendall says.
"Yeah, I'm hungry now." I say, my mom nodded and agreed. A few minutes later we're at the breakfast table eating our breakfast.
"Hmmmm," I moan, "I love your pancakes, Kenny."
"Thanks, Family secret." he says with a satisfied smile.
"Can you make breakfast every morning?" I ask him pleadingly.
"James." Mom simply said.
"But mooom," I whine, "They're soooo~ good!" I say, not exaggerating at all.
"Well I wouldn't mind actually." he says honestly. I peck him on the cheek. "You're the best!" I tell him and stuff another piece of pancake into my mouth. All the while my mom is looking at us and just smiling.
"What? Something on my face?" I ask her rubbing the corners of my mouth.
"No nothing, you guys are just so cute together." she says returning to her food, making me blush a little.
"Awww, embarrassed?" Kendall teases.
"Why don't you guys go see a movie this afternoon?" Mom suggested.
"But I've got-" Kendall starts but she cuts him off.
"You think I really find it necessary for everything to be cleaned every hour?" she asks, "Besides that half the things he told you to do were bogus. Once a week is enough. Besides if everything is so clean we won't be able to hold a fun afternoon of spring cleaning in the spring." she tells us.
She has this strange obsession with it, she just loves the spring cleaning, she usually goes over to one of her friends' houses to help out since dad had the staff scrub everything daily.
"Thanks Mrs. Dia- I mean Brooke." Kendall said correcting himself when my mom gave him a look, which she was still giving him by the way.
"You can call me 'mom' now Kendall." she told him, smiling.
"Okay.. thanks... mom." Kendall said with just as big a smile, which I had on my face too by now. I was so happy she accepted us.
So after breakfast, Kendall and I cuddled on the couch in the living room. When the clock struck 11 we went back to the kitchen to finish lunch. After lunch we went to the movies, we went to some really romantic chick-flick, though we didn't really watch too much, being too busy playing tonsil hockey. Then we went back home to my room to play some more video games. We wrestled a little once I got fed up loosing from him time and time again. That ended in us making out and finally settling under the blankets for a good nights sleep in each others arms. Whispering 'I love you's' and a kiss here and there before we actually fell asleep.
That's it folks! All well that ends well I guess.
Just to clarify James' dad is not coming back. Ever, that was Mr. Diamond kicking him out.
Guess this wraps up the Two-shot :) Hope you guys enjoyed! And please Review?
