InuYasha couldn't sleep. The day had been a regular one; they had been traveling in search of the jewel shards. Kagome had stopped and complained that she was tired and suggested that they set up camp, as usual. It never did any good to argue with her, so he didn't bother. Now, everyone was gathered around the fire, asleep. All except him.
He sat with his back to a tree. He couldn't, for the life of him, sleep. There was a feeling in the air. It was familiar, but he couldn't place it. He turned his eyes to check on his friends with them finally resting on Kagome.
She wasn't who he thought of first when he looked at her. Her black hair and brown eyes were so reminiscent of another time.
She didn't expect much from him, yet she expected everything. He couldn't give her that. Though her face was the same, and her scent similar, she wasn't the one whom he'd fallen in love with.
Author's Note: I want to end by saying... I ship KagomexInuYasha. I don' like Kikyo... but the Song was WAY too fitting. :) Hope you enjoyed. Please review. Not beta'd...
