Chapter 4: Snow
Haymitch Abernathy...when I first met Haymitch the only words I would have used for him were stubborn drunk. I thought that for years after his victory. Then, Katniss Everdeen came along. She brought out a side of Haymitch I was not aware of, shrewd, calculating.
This, of course was a turn of events I had never seen coming. His, surprising leadership and her resourcefulness took them from an interesting team. More importantly, it showed a side of the man that I never knew was there. Then, he did something I never would have bet on happening. He adopted my son. Of course he did not know, it was my son very few people did.
Since then, he's been a great father figure to him. The kind I wish I could be, and still he continues to help Katniss and Peeta. For this reason I respect Haymitch Abernathy, he's smart, and a good man at heart.
