Negan is betrayed by his right-hand man Simon. After escaping the Sanctuary with a few trusted allies he runs into Daryl and Aaron. Negan must learn to trust and follow others while Simon kills and plans. Negan must find the man that he once was if he hopes to live with these people. He and others must learn to let go of the past and look toward the future and look for Salvation.

Daryl and Morgan head back to Virginia with their new family.
