Adult content ahead, just a bit of warning
The Gryffindor tower was thankfully near-empty on the stormy Saturday evening. Most students were still in Hogsmeade village, spending their time at the Three Broomsticks, a warm butterbeer in hand. Keener students braced the elements and still went back and forth between Zonkos, Honeydukes, and the infamous Shrieking Shack regardless of the pouring rain and howling winds.
Then again, such details seemed very minor and insignificant to two certain sixth-year Gryffindors.
Sirius and Jacquelyn wasted no time in hurrying to the boy's dormitory. Sirius, not a stranger to situations such as these, had already casted Muffliato behind him.
Jacquelyn had already thrown her hoodie on one of the armchairs as soon as they entered common room. Sirius grabbed her hand and pulled her toward the spiral staircase, the ever-present wicked glint in his eyes. Jacquelyn grinned and ran up the steps, now dragging him behind her.
"Oh, I see how it is" Sirius said, grabbing her from around her waist as his longer legs caught up to her. He lifted Jacquelyn up and over his shoulder, before dumping her on his bed.
"Hey-!" Jacqueluyn started before Sirius stole the rest by pressing his lips to her own, his hands on either side of her. She forgot any complaint she could have ever had about that boy as she ran her hands through his hair and brought him closer. Running her tongue against his lower lip. Sirius ran his hands along her stomach as he broke their kiss only long enough to lift her shirt over her head.
Jacquelyn pulled away. Sirius took his chance to move on to her neck but she stopped him, "Si-Sirius, wait." She said, pushing herself up.
"Wassamatter?" he said, an eyebrow raised, "If you want to slow down, I get it but—"
Jacquelyn blushed, "That's not it," she crossed over to the thick velvet curtain and tied it shut, "but I'll be damned before I give some second year a show"
Sirius snorted. "Oops."
She wrapped her arms around Sirius's from behind as he was casting the necessary enchantments, so they wouldn't risk being disturbed, and pulled him back, kissing his neck as she did. She worked her way up from the base of his collar to his right ear, nipping him impatiently.
"And here I thought you would know not to keep a lady waiting, eh?" she purred into Sirius' ear, her breath teasing him. He turned to face her and in one swift movement lifted her up into his arms and swung her legs around him.
He kissed her passionately, "But you're not a lady, now are you?"
Jacquelyn grinned and pushed him back unto the bed, her legs at his sides, trapping him. She tore off her top and tossed to the side next to her hoodie, Sirius' eyeing her hungrily began to remove his T-shirt and swiftly turned so she was under him. He kissed her deeply, now nudging his tongue against her lips, to which he was met halfway by her own. She felt up and down his toned chest and abdomen as he pried off her favorite green and black striped bra. She gasped sharply as he nipped at her breast and arched her back as he kissed the other.
"R-remind me why we haven't done this before?" Jacquelyn managed at last.
"Sure as hell beats me, Jackie." Sirius said, grinning smugly. She kissed him teasingly as she pried of his jeans and boxers, pushing herself the length of his. He moaned as she pressed herself against Sirius. He pushed his hands to palm her through her panties. Taking Jacquelyn's sudden yank on his long hair as encouragement He pried them off soon enough as well, and was not very long until they were rising and falling together. With a final shudder that took them both, one right after the other, they laid there.
Sirius and Jacquelyn laid breathing harder than usual. Jacquelyn propped herself up, and pushed back her dark hair.
"Now what?" she asked, a grin splitting from ear to ear seeing how Sirius was still tired.
He finally answered her, propping himself up as well. "Well that's up to you. What do you want to do?"
"More like who I want to do. We definitely have to make this a regular thing," she teased, playing with his long hair absentmindedly. "With the work-load they're dumping on us this year, I could use a stress reliever."
Sirius puffed out his chest proudly "More than happy to oblige, that-what we just did: that is a shag. A very well done shag."
She laughed, looking up at the ceiling of the dormitory and only then did it occur to her how small the bed was with the both of them there.
Sirius threw off her train of thought by suddenly asking, "So who was your first?"
"My first? Like my first time-?" Jacquelyn snorted, "You're asking this now?"
"No- I'm honestly just wondering, I was actually afraid this had been it, to be honest."
She raised an eyebrow, "Afraid?"
"Well, honestly, think about it from a guy's perspective. Everyone remembers their first and who wants to be the bloke that ruins that? Don't give me that look- It's a lot of pressure!"
Jacquelyn couldn't help but smile, "Who would've known. And for your information, he was a muggle boy who lived down the road from my house, Liam Hoult. Last summer. His room."
Sirius eyed her, "Interesting..."
"What about you?"
"What about me?"
"Who was your first?"
Sirius smirked, "Mirida Samwell, she was a sixth year Ravenclaw. Right here in my Fourth year after Yule ball."
"Mirida...? Wait! You shagged the Ravenclaw Quidditch captain?" asked Jacquelyn, she couldn't help it: she was impressed.
"The very same."
He looked at her curiously.
"What?"
"I don't know…but I always saw you as the "relationship" kind of person, Jackie."
"Eh, I've had a handful; they aren't worth the effort to be honest. I don't have time to go through all the crap it drags along with it. I need the shagging, not the nagging."
Sirius chuckled. "So should we seal this off or something?"
Jacquelyn twisted over, hanging over him. "Sure. I dub thee 'Friend with Benefits'!" she laughed. Sirius grabbed her by the waist and pulled her next to him. "Its official then, friends by day, and shagging by night. No complications, no feelings, no jealousy."
"Sounds decent to me. Now where the hell is my bra, Padfoot?"
"Oy! Could you hand me the pot, Lily?" asked Jacquelyn irritably for the third time. They were down in the Hogwarts greenhouses trying to wrangle Snargluff pods from their vicious stumps, a extremely difficult task at best seeing how they had a knack of trying to throttle anything that came too close.
Jacquelyn didn't bother to tell Alice and Lily about the "deal" she'd made with Sirius because, knowing them as she did, knew they would overreact. She hardly felt they would have listened if she told them anyways, as Lily seemed to have been in a temporary daze ever since she came back from Hogsmead village the day before.
"Huh? Oh- sorry Jackie!"
"Took you long enough, this damn thing is about to rip-oh shit, it's got Alice!" The two turned to find the plant's trunk enclosed firmly around Alice's forearm, and very unwilling to return it. Lily grabbed a pair of shears and tried to fight back the vines trying to work their way around Jacquelyn and herself while she tried to pry Alice's arm out.
It was only after several minutes of struggle did they manage to retrieve the damn pod without severing Alice's arm and resume conversation.
Alice eyed the pulsating grotesquely green colored core of the plant that tried to dismember her. "Not really worth it now that I see it in full." she said, disgruntled.
"So, Lily, you never bothered to enchant us about your little outing with Potter." said Jacquelyn with a grin.
"Shush, you. It wasn't an outing, we just happened to be-er, together…" Lily said, suddenly taking interest in the Snargluff pod instead.
"Don't give me that. If that wasn't a date, I'm pretty sure that it will be soon." said Alice.
"It wasn't a date! Well, I don't know… It wasn't supposed to be- Well, where the hell were you Jackie? You and Sirius ditched us!"
"We didn't ditch you, we had other matters to attend to. Don't act like we left you with a Blast-ended Screwt, I saw you with James. You had a good time and you know it," retorted Jacquelyn.
Lily narrowed her eyes at her, but they softened quickly enough, "Well, he asked me to see him next Hogsmead trip, you know the one right after the Gryffindor Quidditch match? I, uh, said I would." said Lily, turning the same color as her hair rather quickly.
Alice was ecstatic, "Great! Bloody Brilliant, I'm so proud of you. And here I thought you would die alone. Oy, Jackie. I'm sure there's about ten gallons that belong to me now?"
"You guys beton me?!" frowned Lily, looking rather threatening with a pair of large shears in her hand.
"Not exactly…" said Jacquelyn delicately, grabbing the galleons out of her bag. "Okay, so maybe. We were betting on how many more tries it would take for James to finally get a "yes" out of you. Alice said at no more than three, I said no less than six."
"Thanks for the optimism."
"No need to be so pessimistic, Lily." said Alice, her mood significantly uplifted now that her pocket was jingling. "Stop being a sore loser Jacquelyn and help me figure out how to get this pod open."
"Screw the vegetation, how was Frank yesterday?" asked Jacquelyn curiously.
"Lovely, we went to Puddifoots for a bit and you would not believe who we saw!"
"Who?"
"Narcissa! And you wouldn't believe who was with her!"
"That bitch from Slytherin? Cut the drama and tell us already!"
Alice eyed them, her eyes flitting devilishly as she whispered dramatically "Lucius Malfoy!"
Lily was blown away, but Jacquelyn saw this coming for some time now.
"B-but they're like cousins! Isn't that kinda messed up?" said Lily.
Alice answered her "Yeah, but you forget that they're purebloods, like those old wizarding families. They do that kinda stuff like inter-marriage, y'know to 'preserve the bloodline'".
"Twenty galleons say their parents put them up to it either way. Not that Lucius and Narcissa are complaining by the looks of it. I actually heard a rumor a while ago from my dad, he reckons there in league with" she dropped her voice to barely a whisper "You-know-who."
Jacquelyn's comment sobered them all for a moment. It wasn't a light matter these days to even speak of the He-who-must-not-be-named. There were those who regretted picking up theDaily Prophet, dreading the day they might read of the disappearance or attack of a loved one. Over the summer the Ministry had turned near frantic after the disappearances and deaths of several Ministry Aurors as well as even members of the Wizengamot. In this state of distress and utter panic, all hell had upturned on the decision allowing the use of Unforgivables on suspects taken into custody of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
Many pure-bloods were known that, even if they did not actively take part in aiding He-who-must-not-be-named, had no means of going against him either. Several of the Ancient families believed in the Dark Lord's "cleansing" of the Wizarding community of blood traitors and Mud-bloods alike.
If there was anything worse than the rumors that ran rampant among the Wizarding community about their own Ministry, was the horrors that they had actually been true.
"Prongs if you don't put that snitch away, I'll stick it up your arse instead." hissed Sirius. Jacquelyn and the rest were in the Library, spending their double study period hurriedly trying to finish a Defense against the Dark arts essay.
James pocketed the snitch he had been fidgeting with turned to Jacquelyn "What did you get for the moonstone thing?" he asked, tousling his hair so it stayed in its signature Just-Got-Off-A-Broom style.
She scanned her paper and said "Erm, I kind of bull-shitted and said how it counteracted the GrimmHaun affect the moonlight has on the retinal glare of werewolves. You think the professor will buy it?"
Lily sighed, something she usually does when she hears a wrong answer in class. "Give me those," she said as she yanked the pieces of parchment from James and Jacquelyn, and scratched out a good half of their essays. "Do you guys listen in class at all?"
"Sometimes." they said in unison.
"Yes, I'm sure you two are going to be very successful." she said sarcastically, she handed back their corrected essays and attempted to explain the lesson to them, only to stop short when their puzzled expressions and opened mouths proved her attempts fruitless.
"Don't blame us, if it made sense we might actually understand what you're saying!" said James.
"You should be happy your cute, James, it makes your stupidity more bearable." laughed Jacquelyn, ruffling his hair. "Now let's move, the bells going to ring any moment now and I'm starved".
Lily and Alice packed their bags quickly and promised to save Jacquelyn a spot at the Gryffindor table, as she still had the conclusion to her essay to finish along with the guys. As soon as they stepped out of the Library, Jacquelyn had turned on James. "Why didn't you tell me you were going to ask Lily out?"
James had a befuddled look on his face "I was supposed to…?"
Sirius nearly gagged on the smuggled firewhiskey he had brought with him to the library. "You did what?" he said in a hoarse whisper, as if they were speaking of robbing Gringotts rather than their friends' love lives.
"It's not like I planned it out or something, and weren't you the one who was telling me to keep asking either way? How come when she finally says yes you act as if I screwed up?"
"You didn't screw it up, James, I'm proud of you!" said Jacquelyn encouragingly.
"Don't give him false hope, Jackie! I told you a million times, you never give in! You act cool and collected and the chicks will come crawling to you!" said Sirius.
"Lily isn't a chick, Sirius! He's not looking for a shag!"
James was mortified at how the conversation was turning "Well, you guys ditched us at the Three Broomsticks! What were you doing anyways?"
"Shagging." said Sirius simply as if he were stating the weather.
