Bj misses his family. I dont own anything Not Beta so all mistakes are mine.
I take out two small pictures. One of my lovey wife and the other was of my little girl I barley knew. Its been six mouths and I was getting to all the blood the young boys dieing the cold the mess of it all. somehow I couldn't get used to being away from my family.
'Bj' I knew the voice anywhere. It was one of my roommates Hawkeye.
'Yeah' I say why sitting up he is wearing that trademark red robe. Peg looked good in red.
'Want a drink or to play chess?' I know he is trying to get my mind off missing my family.
'A drink would be nice.' Hawk picks up a cup and fills it with gin. 'Can I talk to you? I know he will say yes but I asked anyway.
'Yeah of course. He pours him a glasses and sits down on his bed. Taking a long drink of gin.
'I miss her so much.' I think I feel a tear come out my eye. 'She is my whole world Hawk.'
'I know you miss your wife. I wish I could say I understand." I drink all the gin in my cup and go for more.
'Just you listening helps. You may think you look good in red but my god Hawk Peg looks so sexy in it.'
That made Hawkeye laugh. 'I bet she does. I would love to met the family. I mean if you would let me.'
That made me smile.'Yes I would love you to. Peg will love you and you can eat some of the cake you like so much fresh.'
'You know what BJ why we are here you are my family.' He said to me smiling.
I smile I know the older man is just trying to make me feel better.'Do you mean that."
'Of course I do. Even when we go home we will be family. I wouldn't have said it if i didn't mean it.' He drinks all the gin in the cup.
Feeling better I ask. 'how about that game of chess?' I smile at him my best friend.
