After a night where I squeezed in around an hour of sleep finally came a hard loud knock on the door. I opened it slowly and all too soon a man strode into the room. His long legs carried a body that was quite hunched over. A head of long, thick black hair accompanied his oily fake tone as he spoke. "The time has come for you to make your appearance at the reaping." He smiled. "You should make a convincing volunteer" he commented, looking me up and down. "I believe you know I am no volunteer." I spat at him. He continued to smile which made me want to punch him. However he simply nodded and threw a simple white shirt and a long grey skirt to me. I waited for him to leave so I could change but apparently he was stupid as well as rude. "I need to change so it would be a good idea for you to get out." I was really loosing my patience with this guy. He shuffles out the room, glaring at me and closed the door. I buttoned up the shirt and set the skirt over the top of it so my shirt was tucked in. I left my old red and black robes on the lumpy bed that I had sat in all of last night and mulled over the events of what would be happening today. I reopened the door and he instantly grabbed my arm to lead me out the room and down a thin corridor of nothing but dull grey walls. So I was right then. No food today. Standing in front of the huge oak doors were two guards and an older looking man with thin wispy whit hair that looked me up and down, nodding in approval of my new clothes. I could hear the sounds of crunching gravel and saw the children of district 12 making their way in silence, I noticed a group of three girls cling to each other before be separated into lines to take blood from their fingers. Little did they know they had nothing to worry about.
