Chapter 3

The Arrival: Finn, the Boy from the Future and the Monster of Aaron City!

Five Miles East of Aaron City, April 17th, 9:00 AM, Year 2009

The desert outside the city was silent, a calm, with an almost unsettling quiet. To the inhabitants of the doomed city, it would have most likely been a day unlike any other, barring any of the anomalies caused by a certain blonde haired, muscle bound "ladies man". However, as the evening settled into the night, the fabric of space-time itself suddenly seemed to fluctuate. Then, from the center of the horizon a magnificent green light erupted fourth. Once the scene settled, the light gave way to a green and black portal, and from that portal, a figure emerged. As the dust settled, the monster Cell, gave a vile smirk as he hungrily eyed the city. "This is it, I've made it," Cell remarked, as the portal suddenly closed behind him.

"My path to perfection...begins here. Starting with the inhabitants of this city, this pitiful world will know the true meaning of fear!" As he said this, a horrible yellow aura formed around him, looking as though it consisted of screaming, pained souls, and his voice took on a more demonic, legion- esque tone. With those words, the night settled back to its deathly calm, and Cell began his descent into the city, his eyes taking on a glowing, red glare as he left to feed upon its citizens.

The citizens were out in force, that morning . It was a beautiful day, not a single cloud in the sky. While the townsfolk, unbeknownst to them, enjoyed their last moments, Cell, watching from atop a skyscraper, eyed them like a child in a candy store. "Mmm, look at all of these unsuspecting morsels," Cell thought, pondering his next move. He had his eyes set upon the park in the middle of the city, finding particular amusement at the actions of a blonde bodybuilder. "This is perfect! I couldn't ask for a better diversion" the monster hissed. His patience having run his course, Cell sprung from the tower, and with the utmost stealth, quickly descended into the park, perching himself in a large tree, eyeing his quarry. Underneath him, a young couple was nestled on a blanket, admiring the day. Waiting for the young female to fall asleep, Cell decided to make his move. With a terrible and frightful speed, he plunged his needle like tail right into the forehead of his first victim, paralyzing him, and proceeding to absorb him. Slowly, the man began to wither, his bio-energy being absorbed into Cell, and making the most vile sound. In mere seconds, all that remained of the young man were his clothes, falling to the ground and waking the female. As she sprung up in surprise, Cell pierced her spine, again paralyzing her, and began to absorb her nutrients. "Hmhm, these humans are mere cattle, playing right into my hands." Finishing his appetizer, Cell jumped from his perch, and decided to move straight on to the main course. "This city should be drained within the hour, and no one will be the wiser," said Cell, his face aglow with a vile smirk, and began his massacre of the citizens, being dragged into the darkness and drained one by one.

Same day, 5 miles outside of Bellwood, 10:00 AM

It was morning when Finn and Jake emerged from the portal, their eyes getting used to the light of a different, almost alien world. In place of the subtle wackiness and saccharine atmosphere they were accustomed to, a two – lane road surrounded by a somewhat dense forest leading into a large city took its place. Before they could get fully accustomed however, a car sped down the road leading out of the city, Jake pushing Finn aside. As the car passed, Finn drew his demon-blood sword in reaction.

"Get back here, Monster!" Finn yelled in almost delirious confusion. Jake, having come to his senses, wrapped his arms around Finn, attempting to calm him. "Relax, bro! Don't you recognize that from the wreckage in those dungeons and oceans and junk? We really did go back in time!" Jake exclaimed excitedly. As he felt Finn begin to calm down and come to his senses, Jake unwrapped himself from him, allowing him to take in the sights. Finn looked around in absolute wonder at his surroundings. It was so different from what he had known. Even the scene of this mundane road seemed completely new.

"Holy Schmow, man! I can't believe it…" Finn's initial excitement began to recede as he remembered his purpose for going back in the first place. "This totally math and all, but remember, Jake, we have to stop Cell! If we don't…." All of a sudden, a large explosion erupted from the city, taking out several buildings and cutting off Finn's sentence. While they had come back in search of Cell, their heroic nature could not resist the call to adventure. "Yeah, I know, man, Cell's gotta pay for donkin' up Ooo, but we don't know anything about this place." Jake grasped Finn and put him on his back, growing in size in the process, and placed the human boy atop his head. Finn exclaimed "Well then, looks like we know where to start!" Finn and Jake made their way towards Bellwood posthaste, the sound of further explosions echoing in the distance.

Meanwhile, in the heart of the city

"You plumbers thought you could hold me!" the voice from the giant robot bellowed as it pillaged through the city. "You underestimate me, weaklings, for I, the great mooojo jojo, have escaped your puuuny prison, and as punishment, your city will be destroyed! Muahahaha!" As the robot continued to thrash and destroy the city, a green flash emanated from the distance, and as soon as it had appeared, it vanished, only to be replaced by a blue blur careening towards the robot, knocking it over and breaking its glass head. Still awkward and dazed from the impact, a monkey with green skin, black fur, and an odd cranial protector protruding from the top of his head stepped out from the wreckage. "Who'd dare get interfere with the machinations of moojo jo-" Mojo's rant was quickly interrupted by a punch from the same blur that destroyed his robot. After being sent flying and landing back hard on his rear, Mojo soon regained his composure. The blue blur, looking as if coming in for another shot, instead stopped right in front of him, taking the form of a tall, blue, cat-like alien with a green – and –black symbol on his chest.

"What is it with you and the ranting? I mean, come on, there's villain dialogue, then there's evil ranting, but you're like, in a league of your own." As the alien moved in closer, a beeping could be heard, along with the green-black symbol on its chest, and suddenly, in a flash of green light, the alien was gone, and a brown haired boy in a green jacket stood in its place. "I mean, for an 'evil genius', you sure do pick the most inopportune times to self-aggrandize" Ben walked up to Mojo, and grabbed the simian super villain by the gruff of his neck.

As Ben held the back of the ape's neck, he was surprised by the lack of struggle. Unbeknownst to his captor, Mojo had activated a switch hidden under his white glove. As a wide, toothy smile replaced a dour grin, Mojo's demeanor went from his usual anger to an unusual air of smugness. "Humph, you underestimate my intelligence, Ben Tennyson. Only a fool would try to take you on…" As soon as Mojo uttered those words, the dilapidated remains of the giant mecha began to rumble, and before Ben could even turn his head completely turn his head to investigate, "BOOM," the mech exploded, flinging Ben and Mojo 30 feet into the air. As they fell back to the ground, Mojo recovered and activated a hidden backpack.

Seeing Mojo's attempt at escape compelled Ben to reach for his Omnitrix. However, before he could even move his hands towards each other, a giant black blot formed above him. From said blot, a hand emerged, and with sharp fingers outstretched, Slammed ben into the ground and pinned him, knocking him into a daze. After regaining full consciousness, Ben looked up to see that the blot formed an insidious fanged smile with deep green lips. The blot continued to grotesquely enlarge and morph until a gigantic, black, human-like demon now held down the teen hero.

"You thought you and your 'Plumbers' could detain the likes of us? Of me?" As the demon spoke, Ben could feel its grip tighten. The street and concrete beneath him giving way to its supernatural strength, Ben struggled in vain to escape the demon lord's grip. "Your struggles are futile! You are nothing to the likes of Aku, Boy!" Mojo flew back into Ben's field of vision, along with an alien adorned in purple armor, and a large baby –like figure with a red mace and aura. "Allow me to finish, Mr. Tennyson. Only a fool would try to take you on…ALONE. Ahahahaha! Sevenseven! Klorgbane! Annihilate him!"

Aku proceeded to pick up the near-broken hero, holding his arms tight to his side, as Sevenseven and Klorgbane charged their weapons in preparation, while Mojo relished in his near victory. Ben managed to raise his head, in a mixture of defiance and defeat, and glared at his executioners, and before he could utter another word, the shots were fired. Ben closed his eyes, unable to face the intense light of the weapon fire, and heard an explosion. However, at his amazement, he felt no heat, no impact, only the grip of Aku, which was beginning to loosen.

"Heh, what happened Tennyson? Your monster-watch malfunction? Or is it just one of those days?" Ben slowly opened his eyes, his vision beginning to readjust. Suddenly, he heard a slice, and he found he could move again. As he stumbled to regain his stature, a black gloved hand greeted him, and before him. "Tch, please" said Ben, grasping the young man's hand "I appreciate the gesture, but I can take care of this myself" as a cocky smile lit his face. The young man, donning a red jacket over a white shirt, laughed, knowing that on some level, Ben knew he needed his help. "Well Tennyson, I could say the same about you, couldn't I?" Just then, Sevenseven flew at the heroes, firing a barrage of laser cannon fire. The young man, with the upmost confidence, raised his fist into the air. Suddenly, his fist began to quiver, techo-organic sounds emanating from within his body, and just as Sevenseven began to close in, it grew into a giant, metallic form, meeting with the armored alien's body and sending him flying backwards into Mojo, grounding him. "It's good to see you, Rex" said Ben while working the Omnitrix dial. Rex gave a glance back at Ben. "I know, right" said Rex with a smug grin, as both teen heroes stood before the villains, preparing for the next round of their battle.

Author's notes: Ok, so here it is, the 3rd chapter I promised, and only half a year late. I'm sorry this took so long, and feel free to ravage me in the comments, I probably deserve it. Anyways, I would like to make a point that, Yes, Cell is in this story, and there will be other stories featuring other villains from DBZ. However, their powers, scale, and origin are self-contained within this universe (i.e, Cell wasn't dropped from the DBZ universe into this one, he's native to this universe), the nature of which will be explored in later chapters and stories. Sorry if that sounded a little harsh. Now for the good news, I have the write up done for chapter four, which'll be done by either late august or mid September. Thanks for being patient :)
