A Second Chance

Hey everybody. Hey this is Razor, I have finally updated, purely out of lack of things to do. I know many wanted updates every week or so but I just don't have that kind of time these days. So I have this to say, life sucks balls people. My updates for every story will be inconsistent, that's just the way things are for me right now, every now and then I'll likely have a two or three chapter streak but it won't happen too often.

Ch.3: The Big Announcement

Mavis nodded and walked to the door and said one last thing before leaving.

"It was nice to meet you Naruto." And she was gone.

Naruto looked at the Count with a neutral attitude. "That went better than expected."

Dracula nodded his head but his frown grew the more he thought of his current situation.

"I'm more worried about what the reactions of the other guests will be when they find out."

Hotel Transylvania, Underground Tunnel system

"This is more than a little paraniod, you know."

Naruto had, for the most part, recovered a couple of hours after the little group meeting. Now Dracula was dragging him around the underground tunnel system.

The Count frowned as he continued on the path he had selected. He wasn't lost. No, it'd just been so long since he'd been down here that he was getting a feel for it again.

Bullshit, plain and simple. It's a sad thing when people are in denial.

"You can never be too careful when there are countless individuals on the hunt for your head. Besides, having an escape is more of a comfort than a need. How does that saying go? Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it."

Naruto couldn't help but agree. That logic had saved his own life many times in his past. But even he knew Drac was lost and just didn't want to admit. Pride did that kind of thing to people. Not that it hadn't happened to him. He took a great pride in his abilities and accomplishments, and that had lead him into alot of strange and dangerous situations. Even with all of this going on he was memorizing the layout of the tunnels as they went. He had figured out a way to defeat being too prideful.

By always striving to improve.

His jutsu can always be more effective, more deadly. His body can always improve its reaction time, strength, speed, and dexterity. His knowledge of events, strategies, and everything else could always be expanded. If there was one thing his career as a shinobi taught it was that there was always someone better. He didn't know when or how he would encounter that person or creature, but fate seemed to like throwing him curve balls at the worst possible time.

"While I agree with the logic itself, you are clearly lost. I have several meditation exercises that will help improve your memory and calm the mind if you would like me to show you them." The blonde offered as he noticed they were coming upon yet another secret passage. He just hoped the Count would be more careful when getting reaquainted with his own tunnel system.

Dracula looked slightly interested as he raised an eye brow while reaching for the lever to open the passage, not aware of the chaos that awaited him. "Hhmm, That does sound interesting. Maybe after Mavis' party when things have calmed down a bit around here."

When he pulled the lever neither of them could have predicted what they would see on the other side. Frankenstein, Wayne, and Murray were beating the undead shit out of... Zombie composers? Naruto raised an eyebrow; he could only chalk this one up to the ever growing strangeness of this world. Though it was mildy amusing watching the old monsters go bat shit crazy on some undead retards. He couldn't help the small, good natured smirk that fell into place on his face. As Drac went to break up the fight Naruto remained where he was and observed the room he was now located in.

It looked like an old styled bar with a karaoke stage. Not much but it had that homey quality to it.

Plus it had booze.

When Mavis swung into view hanging upside down with a bright smile he didn't react. Not at first anyway. He knew she was there the whole time, but he also knew she meant no harm to him. He couldn't explain how he knew it, he just felt it in his gut and his heart. He let loose a small amused smile. Kami, what was happening to him? He had perfect control over his emotions before this girl came along and now...Now he didn't know what was happening.

He felt scared that he just let down the many defenses he had built down. But it was a good and bad kind of scared. Bad because he knew when shinobi lost control of their emotions disasterous consequences usually follow. Good because he had never really felt happier when he was around her. Never more carefree. Never more at peace.

He cleared his thoughts away as he focused on Mavis as she looked like she had something to say. He'd meditate on those feelings later, when he could truly focus on them.

"Hey," Mavis said as she dropped down and faced him. "What're you doing here? I thought you'd be recovering from...well you know."

Naruto gave a small grin as he glanced back to see Dracula breaking up the fight between Zombies Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart and his friends. When he chuckled a little before he turned his attention back to Mavis.

"I heal fast. Besides just laying in bed for hours is boring. I could be doing much more productive things; like memorizing the castle's layout and secret passages. Why are you here?"

The daughter of Dracula grinned shyly and looked at the ground before answering.

"Well, I was hoping that maybe after you and dad made the announcement of your new position that maybe you'd want to hang out later?" She looked up hopefully at him, though he could still see her hesitation. His own heart started to beat faster when his brain processed the request. What should he say? He had no real good reason to say no, but he was nervous. No one had ever tried to get close to him, at least not in this way. He showed his own fortitude by not showing his emotions with his face. Mavis started to look hurt as she assumed his silence was a decilination of her request. Seeing the look on her face made his decision right then.

"I would love to. Find me after the announcement and we can hang out." Naruto knew that he had made the right decision based off of the utter happines that she radiated at that moment. He hated to see her sad or upset. His heart ached when she first thought he had told her no. He didn't want to feel that again, much less cause her pain.

"O-okay. Well then, see you later Naruto." She waved happily as she flew off with no perticular destination in mind.

Naruto let a true, soft smile slide onto his face as he watched her go. His attention turned to the now very crowded bar. The other guests must have heard the commotion and come to investigate. He leaned against a wall in a dark corner as he waited. He saw the Count look at and Naruto gave a little 'carry on' wave of his hand to let him know now was the time.

The time to tell the rest of the Hotel about his existance and his new job.

Dracula nodded and got everyone's attention by using the microphone on the karaoke stage. As his guests queited down to hear his announcement he wondered if this was the right thing. If this secret got out then the trust bestowed upon him by his guests would be lost. He shook his head a little to clear his mind. Better now then never, right?

"I would like to let you all know that a new head of security has been hired and that he will be here for as long as he can still do his duties. I would like you all to meet Naruto Uzumaki."

The suddenly there was a rush of wind as Naruto appeared next to Dracula. He stood there stoically while the room was agape in shock at the news.

"Yo." Was all he said along with a small wave of his right hand.
