It was down the road that I had first glimpse of my family's lake house. The sun was gently reaching out its rays to graze the glass windows, creating a glisten to the house like a precious metal. By all standards it was perfect, just how I had remembered it from so long ago. Even as a child I had loved the house, but in the present I think I love it even more.
Stefan slowly rolled the small red Porsche into the drive, coming to a complete stop directly in front of the strong structure. I took a deep breath, seeping in the view of all my childhood memories. Time just seemed to stop. I could see my dad carrying me on his shoulders as he entered the warm house. Jeremy was running around in the front, kicking the soccer ball that Uncle John had given him for his birthday. My mom was smiling at Jeremy as she carried our things into the house. It was the perfect family.
"You okay?" Stefan asked. I quickly turned towards him, only to find concern in those dreamy eyes. Stefan always knew how to bring me back to the present, and I loved him for it.
"Yeah, I'm good. This is just the first time I've been here since, you know." I couldn't bring myself to say it. All the old emotions seemed to be breaking through the floodgates without anyone there to fix them.
"If you need a minute…" He trailed off.
I had Stefan here and now to hold those gates together. I just hoped he was strong enough for the both of us.
I took a deep breath in and swallowed the hurt, only making room for happy thoughts. "No, I'm fine." I could tell he didn't believe me. "Seriously, all the memories I've had here were happy ones. Seems only fitting to have more happy ones here with you." Stefan grabbed my hand in his, lightly squeezing it to let me know he was there.
I got out of the car with my bag in hand and headed for the door. Stefan was close behind me. I took the keys out of my pocket. They jingled a bit as I fumbled for the right one. Once I got it, the door swung open and I walked in. I set my bag on the counter with my keys and looked around confused for a second. Where was Stefan? Then I remembered the vampire thing and looked towards the door. Sure enough there he stood with his romantic stare and charming smile.
"Ummmm… Elena? I'm stuck." He said.
I had to admit; it was funny seeing him stand there, unable to enter without being invited. So I went with it. "Oh, Stefan. My parents left this house to John Gilbert when they died. I can't invite you in."
His smile quickly changed to concern. "Are you serious?" He definitely fell for it.
"Stefan Salvatore, I formally invite you into this home."
"Why you little…" He started as he rushed through the door and scooped me up into his arms. His lips crashed down on mine with such a hunger that left me gasping for air, but I invited the hunger. He set me down on the counter, his hands finally free to explore the rest of my body. My fingers were entwined in his soft feathery hair as I went at him like it was our final hour.
As things were heating up, I realized that the door was wide open and Stefan was unbuttoning my cardigan. His lips moved to my neck, his teeth lightly grazing my skin. I pushed on his shoulders to get him away. "Right here?" I asked.
"Why not?" He answered, his hot breath touching my neck.
"The front door is open."
"So." He continued to remove my cardigan, and tossed it to the floor. I gave in and proceeded to take off his hoodie. I ran my fingers over his hard chest. My whole body felt like it was on fire.
He pulled at my green Henley, trying to get it over my head. I laughed and decided to help him out. I tossed it to the floor as well. I unbuckled the belt to his jeans as he pulled down the straps to my camisole, revealing my bra for a short instant before that too being tossed to the floor. His kiss became deeper, and I found myself moving with him in perfect unison.
To my disappointment, Stefan suddenly pulled away and I instantly knew why. The blue veins around his eyes became prominent, and his fangs began to protrude from his jaw. All I could do was smile. I pulled the blanket of hair away from my neck. "For the millionth time Stefan, It's ok."
After I uttered those words, my body felt a wave of pure ecstasy as he entered me. I wrapped my legs around his waist, pulling him closer to me. My hand rested at the nape of his neck, where I pulled his head down to my exposed neck. There I gave him, what his body really needed.
I had to fight the urge to not drive over the speed limit. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. The thought of my little girl alone with that monster yanked at my heart.
"I don't get what the big deal is. Kids will be kids and I trust Elena." Jenna commented.
"It's not Elena I'm worried about." I said angrily.
"So Stefan is a seventeen year old boy who only wants one thing. I get it. This isn't a life or death situation."
I chuckled. "Stefan Salvatore is not a seventeen year old boy."
"Yeah? Then what is he?" I could hear the annoyance in her voice.
"He's a hundred and sixty four year old vampire."
There was utter silence in the car for a moment.
"You have got to be joking." Jenna said as she turned to look out the window.
