When Lloyd looked around the Smashville stage, the first thing he noticed was how simple it was. The stage was one long platform with a small one slowly moving parallel to the main platform higher above it. There was even a little audience in the back full of a bunch of humanized animals. He was on the far left side while Pit was facing him farther ahead on the right side.
Lloyd jumped onto the floating platform once the announcer shouted at them to go on ahead and start the battle. Even though Pit could fly, he wanted to get to higher ground so he could use his earth powers to ground his opponent before he could get caught in the sky. Once Pit started to fly up, he sent a quick shot of ice at his opponent to try and freeze him until he could smash him.
The shot struck true and encased Pit in a block of ice. Lloyd took a second to recover before allowing the powers of the earth to rise inside of him. Once he was ready, he jumped above his opponent and sent all of his weight straight down. The ice around Pit shattered and the effect was instead replaced with a small sinkhole that trapped his opponent inside, unable to move.
Lloyd took the chance to begin an onslaught of attacks. Ranging from punches, kicks, and even a bit of Spinjitzu, he didn't stop attacking until Pit was able to wriggle free and escape. His opponent had quite a bit of damage dealt, but that didn't stop Pit from getting as high into the air as possible and shoot arrows in quick succession with precise aim. He had to try and get away quickly, but some arrows landed into his back and head, knocking him onto the ground face first.
Lloyd tried to get up, but Pit was faster. His opponent began to break apart the bow used to attack him and started swinging it into him with a surprisingly large amount of strength. He struggled to try and escape, but he was slowly getting weaker and weaker, making it much more difficult for him to even move. However he managed to shoot a small bolt of lightning at Pit, stunning his opponent for a short amount of time and giving him the chance to escape.
Lloyd ran as far as possible before Pit could catch up to him. Both of them had a lot of damage dealt to each other, making them both tired. He prepared his fire energy as he waited to see if his opponent would try to rush toward him to try and deal the final blow. He concealed his hands behind his back as the power of the flames began to lick at his fingertips so that Pit could not see what he was trying to do.
Neither Lloyd nor Pit moved for a few seconds, both of them charging up their own attacks. One tried to end the battle with fire, the other with an arrow from the sky. Lloyd jumped backwards while Pit took to the sky, both as prepared as possible to attack their opponent. With the floating platform put into use, Lloyd jumped on top of it to get closer to his opponent while Pit descended a short distance for him to try and get closer as well. Lloyd took his flaming hands from behind his back just as Pit pulled back an arrow, and both of them shot their attacks at each other, sending them both flying toward separate ends of the stage.
Lloyd was losing control to the right of the stage while Pit was struggling to recover on the right. Both of them were finding it difficult to try and get back to the main platform so that they wouldn't lose the fight. Lloyd pulled out his chigiriki to try and get the chain to latch on to the platform, Pit spread his wings farther to try and glide. Lloyd got lucky at that time, the spiked weight found a good place to latch on to, but his opponent was not. Pit fell out of the stage with a blast of light, ending the battle between the two.
Lloyd was stuck in the medical ward for a little bit due to the fact that he sustained a great deal of damage to both his head and back. But once he was cleared, he ran as quickly as possible to the Stage Selection room for his battle with Falco. The anthropologic bird stood up once he entered the room and stood on the teleporting platform. He followed suite and raised his arm so he could select a stage.
'I'm going to want to pick one that Falco would have trouble with.' Lloyd thought as the cursor rolled over a few stages. 'He's a more weighted character, so a stage fit for a lighter one would be perfect.'
After pondering the choices for a bit, Lloyd decided to move the cursor over to the Rumble Falls stage. The information about the stage was given at the bottom of the screen before it was selected for the battle. The teleporting platform then began to activate so it could send both of them to their fight.
As soon as they reached the stage, Lloyd looked up. He could barely see the top of the stage, but he could certainly see how high up it was. All of the wooden machines littered around the place were slowly being activated once the announcer yelled 'Go!' Everything then began to move downward, forcing him to start climbing unless he wanted to lose the battle.
Lloyd jumped onto floating platforms as he moved up. Falco wasn't too far behind though, and his opponent was climbing up fast with quick precision. He noticed how close Falco was getting, so he sent a quick bolt of lightning toward his opponent so he'd have a bit more time to get to the top without getting hurt. But as soon as he heard he lightning strike, as felt the quick pulse of a Blaster in his back.
'I think I should keep a better guard behind me.' Lloyd thought as he recovered from the attack. 'My back seems to be a laser gun magnet.'
Lloyd watched Falco pass him right before he could get back on his feet. The ground was much closer now, and if he stayed still any longer then he wouldn't be able to get to the top. So he quickly jumped to the next platform and continued to bounce to each one, now so close to the top of the waterfall he could see the end of the stage. Falco however, wasn't moving, as if he was waiting for him near the top.
Even though he could clearly see how going to the top could be a trap, Lloyd still had to get up there unless he wanted to fail. So as he climbed between the rocks at the top of the cliff, he began firing lightning toward his opponent. Once Falco was stunned from the electricity, he began to shoot some fire from his hands.
Lloyd could see Falco getting closer and closer to the edge of the stage, where he would do a quick melee attack to smash his opponent out into a blast of multicolored light. However, Falco was putting up a fight against his flames. He could see his opponent begin to charge up an attack, and it seemed to be one that would get him out of his fire.
Taking a big risk, Lloyd stopped the flames and began to use Spinjitzu. The stage was slowing to a stop and this point, and would quickly zoom right back down to the bottom if he wasn't quick. So when Falco was trapped in the golden tornado, he sent a powerful kick toward his opponent, sending him out of the stage and making him win the battle.
Once Lloyd was in the medical ward, he was held back for a little bit so his back could recover. All of the attacks that hit him were starting to affect him, and if they got worse then they'd affect his battle performance. He was given a little bit of medicine and some food so he could recover faster, and was soon sent on his way.
Lloyd managed to get to the Stage Selection room without any more difficulties and before anyone could get upset. His next challenge was with Pikachu, which meant that only his earth powers would have any real effect against the electricity-powered Pokémon.
'Pikachu is also really fast, so I'm going to have to come up with a strategy that makes use of my earth abilities and my speed.' Lloyd thought. 'The lightning, ice, and fire I have won't have too much effect because they are converted into Pokémon types, lightning the least effective. I think Pikachu also has an electric attack that can travel around platforms, along with once that it can use to hurt me if I'm above it. I can't remember the name of the first attack, but I'm almost certain the second one is Thunderbolt. This is going to be an interesting battle.'
Lloyd found Pikachu waiting on the teleporting platform, tail twitching in excitement and small cheeks crackling with electricity. He stood next to Pikachu and raised his arm to the screen above him, selecting the Pokémon Stadium 2 stage, just for a little bit of fun. After all, Pikachu would have more experience in that stage, which would give him a nice challenge.
The platform began to activate once Lloyd picked the stage. It quickly started to teleport both of them to the stage so they could begin their fight.
The first thing Lloyd noticed about the Pokémon Stadium 2 stage was that it was basically a Pokémon battle arena floating in the air with a screen in the back that told who was winning, what current type the main platform was, and what type it would change into. He was on the far right of the stage, and Pikachu was ahead of him on the far left.
As soon as the announcer yelled 'Go!' Lloyd leapt into action. He took out his chigiriki and swung the spiked weight around so it would gain momentum and become more powerful. He quickly let the chain fly toward Pikachu so it would deal damage, but his opponent was already out of the way and running quickly toward him.
Lloyd activated his fire powers once Pikachu got close and watched the flames lick at his opponent. When he couldn't let the flames fire any longer, he noticed that Pikachu seemed to have gotten angrier and wasn't as affected by the damage dealt. He had to try and dodge the electricity sent his way that took the form of angry bolts. Because he wasn't as fast as the attacks, his arm got caught in one of the bolts and singed a little bit, leaving a small burn mark on his clothes.
Wasting no time, Lloyd ran as fast as possible to try and get away from Pikachu. Pretty quickly though, the stage let out a small series of beeping alarms, warning them that the main platform's type was changing from nothing to something else. He noticed that his opponent was just waiting silently for the main platform to change, as if it was planning a strategy.
The main platform became more solid and sturdy underneath Lloyd's feet and various electric and steel type Pokémon started to appear in the background. Small conveyor belts rose up from the ground and began to turn, and various machines in the background activated. He felt the conveyor belt underneath him started to move him toward the end of the main platform, aiming to throw him out of the stage.
Lloyd Had trouble getting away from Pikachu, but now the stage was helping him too much. He had no choice but to run toward the center of the main platform, where his opponent was waiting for him. He jumped up into the air to see if he could use his earth powers on Pikachu, but almost instantly regretted that mistake. His opponent charged up its electricity and called forth electricity from the sky, sending a Thunderbolt straight down.
Lloyd felt it hit his back and send a shockwave of pain all around him. As he fell, Pikachu rammed into his stomach, sending him flying back up and out of the stage, letting him fade into a star.
