The ride home is silent. Kurt hasn't spoken a word to Puck, who doesn't dare to open his mouth. The tension in the car is so thick that it couldn't be cut by scissors. The mohawked boy worriedly steals a glance at Kurt. His face's expression is blank. Puck knows that face, because he's seen it a few times before. He hates that face. And he hates himself even more for being the reason that caused it.
They sit like this until Kurt speaks up.
"Why did you do that?" Kurt's eyes never leave the road. His voice, like is face, is devoid of emotion. It sends chills down Puck's spine. He is totally and utterly terrified. Right now, Kurt is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. He's rather have Kurt yell and him than being this way.
"He pissed me off." It's not a lie. That little hobbit has pissed him off. No one can insult Kurt like that and get away with it. Now while I'm here.
The porcelain boy stops the car at the red light, and lets out a long sigh. "What else did he do, Puck?"
"Nothing." Puck lied, his voice raising the slightest bit.
Kurt turns and looks at Puck. The first time since they left the mall, he notices. "I know you, and I'm sure that you're lying to me. So, for the second time, what else did he do, Puck?"
Kurt is clearly determined to get a truthful answer out of Puck. Puck scowls angrily through his gritted teeth. "I said nothing happened!"
Kurt throws his hands up in frustration. "If it was nothing then tell me why did you beat the crap out of him and say those things. You know you hurt Blaine and Rachel's feelings, right?"
"Hurt Blaine and Rachel's feelings?" Puck finally snaps. His face turns bright red as his brow furrows. "How many times did Berry betray you? How many times did that munchkin drown you, make you doubt yourself? How can you still care for them?"
Kurt frowns. "But they're my friends."
"You're you too kind for your own good, Kurt." Puck laughs humorlessly. "Every damn time someone hurts you, they apologize and you always forgive them."
He runs his hands through his Mohawk, his voice softer. "You really need to learn to think about yourself. Even a little would help."
When the light turns green, Kurt's eyes still aren't on the road, he's still watching Puck through the corner of his eyes. "That still didn't explain why you hit Blaine."
Puck takes a deep breath. This is it. While he knows this isn't the best time to say this to Kurt, he figures this is the only chance he's going to get. He couldn't let it go to waste. He stutters nervously. "I… I like you, really like you."
He could feel Kurt stiffen next to him. Puck freezes, waiting for Kurt to answer. The porcelain boy may look composed on the outside, but inside, he is freaking out. His best friend is spilling out his feelings for him. What is he supposed to do? Should he reject him? Should he accept or should he ignore this and act like this never happened?
Then the strangest thing happened. Kurt didn't want to reject Puck. Hearing him say that he liked him, made his heart skip a beat. It caused butterflies in his stomach. And he really shouldn't have reacted like that unless… No. NO.
He couldn't possibly like puck. He had just broken up with Blaine. Regardless of that, he really shouldn't like Puck. And in one stupid, confusing moment, he says the least acceptable thing he should've said. "I don't think… Blaine will probably get mad that I'd date another boy as soon as I broke up with him. I can't…"
He hears a growl and immediately gets his foot out of his mouth. Why did he say that?
Puck's face turns a deep shade of red. He grits his teeth and he clenches his fist so hard that his knuckles turn white. "Blaine? Blaine, Blaine, Blaine, always Blaine. If you don't like me just say it, you don't have to use that asshole as an excuse."
Puck slams his fist on the window and made Kurt flinch. "Do you even like Blaine, or was he just the first gay guy you met who was nice to you?"
Kurt is stunned, his mouth hanging open. He doesn't know how to react to Puck's outburst. And like that, it's over. Puck slumps down in his seat, looking sadly out the window with his shoulders sagging.
He wasn't mad because Kurt didn't return his feelings. He was ad because Kurt cares too much for the people who don't deserve it. Why couldn't Kurt see that? "You can just drop me off here."
"But it's still far from…"
"Just do it."

When Kurt gets home, his mind is a mess. Does he like Puck? Does he really love Blaine? Sure, Blaine was nice and cute and all… but when he looked back at the time they were together, he didn't feel any form of chemistry between them. Even their sex life was, well, boring.
But when he was with Puck, he always felt good about himself. Puck makes his laugh, is there when he needs him and he is never afraid to be himself. At some point, he thought that he may have had some feelings toward the boy, but was never really sure.
He mindlessly walks into his house and straight to his room without noticing Finn and Sam playing Xbox in the living room. Kurt slams the door to his room and sits down on his bed; he was tired, bothemotionally and physically. All he wanted to do right now was take a nap. So, naturally, his phone goes off.
At first, Kurt doesn't bother to pick it up. They can wait. But when he glances at the phone, he realized it's from Chandler. And he is suddenly reminded of their coffee day this afternoon at the Lima Bean. With the last of his strength, he picks the phone up. "Hello?"
"Kurt." Chandler is chirpy as usual, which makes him feel even guiltier for canceling his their date.
"Listen, I…"
"Hey, I saw you at the mall half an hour ago. I was trying to say help, but you and Puck got into a fight with Blaine so I backed off. By the way, are you doing okay?" Chandler asks worriedly. Kurt uses his free hand to hug himself because, suddenly, the events from before flash into his head. He can feel the tears forming in his eyes. He tries his best to hide, his shaky voice. "I'm fine."
"You sure."
"Yeah." Kurt nods, even though the blonde cannot see him doing so. He then sucks in a deep breath. "Hey, listen, about our coffee date this afternoon, I'm afraid I can't come."
"What?" There is some confusion and anger in his voice. Why would he get mad at him, who he barely knows, for canceling one friendly date?
"It's just…" How can he say this without hurting Chandler's feelings, or that going out with I'm will cause many misunderstandings?
On the other side, Chandler sighs. "I understand that you're upset with me at the moment, but don't you think that talking to a friend will make everything better?"
Kurt is too busy thinking that he doesn't hear the blond say the word 'friend' sarcastically. Maybe Chandler was right, maybe talking to a friend could make everything slightly better. He can't actually to his friends now when they're all on Blaine's side. He can't talk to Puck. And he definitely isn't going to force Finn to listen to him for hours, even of the boy is willing to. Maybe talking to Chandler will make him feel better, besides, they are only friends, right?
"Okay." Kurt gives in.
"Excellent!" Chandler says excitedly. "See you this afternoon."
Kurt and Chandler say goodbye and hang up."
When he flops down on his bed, he realizes something. He never mentioned anything about his friends at school to Chandler. How did the boy know Blaine and Puck's names?

Near the Hummel residence, a black car is parking. Inside the car, Chandler sits and looks out the window of the car. Through his binoculars, he can see a brunette boy pacing in his room. He licks his lips. Soon he will take that beautiful boy to their happy place, a place where no one can hurt him, a place where he can take care of him and love him just like he deserves. The blonde put down his binoculars and rolls his window up then slowly drives away. Everything is going just as he has planned.
A/N: We're getting closer and closer to the kidnapped chapter :)
R&R please.
