Chapter Four – In The Doorway
Okay, finally Stevie Rae's father had left. She sighed. Why did her father have to make everything so complicated? Leaving his daughter alone for a whole month seemed to have been harder to him than she imagined. So, she turned around, looking at the house she would have to live in for the next four weeks, does this friend really have the same job as dad? She couldn't help but to wonder, because compared to her own home this thing was a villa. With a confident look on her face and a voice in her head, screaming at her she should run, Stevie Rae rang the doorbell.
"Hellooooooo~", the smiling face of a boy popped up in the door and made Stevie Rae's heart almost stop.
"Hey, how dare you surprise me like that?!", she yelled.
"Um...excuse me? I just thought you rang the doorbell so you'd eventually expect someone to answer it. I may also be wrong about that~" He smiled again. Stevie Rae wasn't sure what to answer. He was right, after all... Silly me!
"So, you must be Stevie Rae, huh? Welcome to our less than more small home." He grinned. Why was he doing that all the time? "My name is Equeiwa."
"...What?"
"Equeiwa. Stupid name, I know. There hasn't been one person in all my life yet who got it the first time. Understandable, though."
"Can you spell that for me?", she asked, feeling a little uncomfortable. She had definitely not been prepared for this... Luckily, the boy did as she asked him without stopping to smile for even one second. "Hey, by the way."
"Yes?"
"Would you like to come in or do you wish to live in the doorway for the next month?"
"..." That idiot! Who does he think he is? Does he think that's funny? It's not! And what's with this grin? "Sure, I'd like to come in." Stevie Rae set up her nicest smile and fallowed the boy in as he opened the door wide, for her to come in, bowing before her with a grin on his lips.
Wow, that was short. I am ashamed. I- I just really wanted to write that part and...and... Oh, it's no use apologizing! The next chapter will be longer, I promise! I'll introduce the whole family to Stevie Rae- exept for Rephaim. He'll have to stay a secret to her for one more chapter. He shall seem mysterious to her, after all.
