Begin Again Season Two
Episode 14: The Rainbow Connection
The next morning, Lily went into her closet to get something to wear for the day. She was searching through her skirts when her eyes caught on her dress. It looked different somehow. She took it out, and gasped when she saw that it was cut to shreds. "What in the world?" she asked loudly. Rufus was in the shower, and Scott was off to work. She had no one but Jenny to ask what had happened to the dress. She somehow had a feeling that Jenny was the one she should be asking anyway.
She stomped on over to Jenny's room, and pounded on the door. "Jennifer, I need to talk to you."
There was no sound on the other end of the door.
"Jennifer, I know you're in there. Open up right now!" Lily snapped. She was so angry, she was seeing red without even having to look at the dress.
"Go away! I'm trying to sleep!" Jenny grumbled.
Lily balled her hands into fists, her fingers digging into the dress. She then opened Jenny's door, and walked right in. "No. We talk right now!"
Jenny sat upright in bed. "What the hell? Get out of my room!" She threw a pillow at Lily.
Lily expertly dodged the pillow. She had dealt with Serena's rebellious years. She knew all the tricks. She held up the dress. "What is the meaning of this?"
Jenny smirked. "I don't know. Maybe you snagged it, trying it on."
"Maybe I snagged it?" Lily was so angry, she felt about ready to explode. She practically shoved the dress in Jenny's face. "Look at these tears! Do they look like snags, Jennifer? Do they? This dress has clearly been cut! What do you have to say for yourself? Hm?"
Jenny shrugged. "Maybe that cat of yours decided to use it as a scratching post."
Lily let out a cry of frustration and anger. "The closet door was closed. Anyway, he wouldn't be able to reach the dress!"
Again, Jenny shrugged. "I don't know what to tell you then, sorry."
That was it. Lily was through being the nice stepmother-to-be. She had had it! "Stop lying you lying little Bitch!" She knew she shouldn't be talking to Rufus' daughter that way, but frankly, Jenny deserved it after what she had done to her dress. She didn't believe for a second that Jenny had nothing to do with this!
"I can't believe you just called me that! You're the lying bitch! You lied to my father, you cheated on him, you left him, you—"
"What on earth is going on in here?" Rufus asked, stepping into the room in his bathrobe, his hair still wet from his shower.
Jenny instantly put on the hurt puppy dog face. "Daddy, she called me a lying little bitch!"
Rufus looked at Lily. "Lil? Why would you call her such a name?"
Lily rolled her eyes. "Oh, please! She's playing you like a piano! Look what she did to my dress!" She held up her dress, letting Rufus clearly see how it had been torn to shreds. "She turned my dress into a rag, and doesn't even have the decency to admit it!" Lily explained.
Rufus looked at Jenny. "Is this true?"
Jenny shrugged. "Waffles probably did it, or it was that way to begin with and she just never noticed it before."
Rufus glared at Jenny. "Jenny, do not lie to me. You know darn well that little kitten couldn't do something like this. Anyway, Lily always keeps her closet door closed!"
"Well, maybe she forgot to close it this time! I don't know! I'm not her keeper," Jenny grumbled. "Gosh, you never believe me!"
Rufus crossed his arms over his chest. "Admit it, Jenny. At least have the decency to do that. You ruined Lily's dress, didn't you?"
Jenny let out an angered, almost animalistic cry. "Fine! I did it, all right? I cut that dress to shreds, and I don't even regret doing it! There! Are you happy now?"
Rufus shook his head. "No, I am not happy, Jenny. In fact, I'm very disappointed in you."
Jenny slapped her hand on the bed in anger. "Yeah, well that works out well because I'm disappointed in you for being so stupid as to take Lily back time and time again now matter how many times she hurts you! What's it going to take Dad, for you to finally realize she is scum? She cheats on you and gets pregnant with another man's baby? You find out Scott is actually William's? She tries to kill you?"
"Jennifer, don't be ridiculous!" Lily snapped.
Jenny whipped her head around to stare Lily coldly in the eyes. "Am I really being all that ridiculous, Lily? Am I?"
Lily threw her free hand up in the air. "I can't deal with her right now. I need her out of my sight." She turned on her heel, and headed out the door.
"Yeah, well, the feeling's mutual, you stupid Bitch!" Jenny called out after her.
~Begin Again~
Rufus didn't know what came over him. As soon as he heard Jenny call Lily a stupid bitch, he snapped. He slapped Jenny hard across the face, then instantly regretted it. He placed his hand over his mouth, his mouth dropped open.
Jenny gasped, and placed her hand over the cheek that Rufus had just slapped. "I can't believe you did that! I can't believe you of all people, my own father, just slapped me! Gosh, I hate you!" She got up off the bed.
"Jenny, I'm sorry, but you called Lily a stupid bitch, and I just snapped!" Rufus said, looking up at his daughter, his eyes silently pleading for her forgiveness.
Jenny narrowed her eyes coldly at him. "That's just proof that you love Lily more than you love me, and you care more about her as well."
Rufus shook his head. "Jenny, that's not true! You know I love you both the same! I love you in different ways, but that doesn't mean I love one of you more than the other! That's just ridiculous!"
Jenny crossed her arms over her chest. "Is it, Dad? Because I honestly don't see you ever hitting Lily. In fact, I bet you'd rather die than slap Lily like you just slapped me. You would never slap Lily, but you had no problem slapping me! I mean, come on. Lily called me a lying little bitch and you didn't hit her. I call her a stupid bitch, and you slap me without batting an eye."
Rufus didn't know how to respond to that. Jenny was right. He'd never hit Lily. He'd hurt himself before he'd ever hit her. Yet, here he had just slapped his own daughter without a second thought.
Jenny nodded. "That's what I thought. Thanks a lot, Dad. It's great to know you have my back." She then stormed off to the bathroom, screaming in anger as she slammed the bathroom door behind her.
Rufus sighed. Great! Now he had messed everything up, and he didn't know how to fix it. Well, other than cutting Lily out of his life, but that was never going to happen. He guessed all he could do was prove to Jenny that he loved her just as much as he loved Lily. The only question now was how.

"Dude, I had the most amazing night last night!" Travis said as he and Scott stocked the back room.
Scott rolled his eyes. "Spare me the details of your romps with bimbos, all right?" He had no idea why Travis suddenly seemed to think they were friends. He wished Travis would just shut up and let them both work in peace.
"No, Man, for once, it wasn't woman related!" Travis said with a grin.
Scott hated himself for caring, but he looked over at him in curiosity. "What made your night so amazing then?"
"Well, you know that contact I told you I had?" He lowered his voice, and gently elbowed Scott. "The one with the drugs?"
Scott rolled his eyes. He should have known it was something like that. He went back to stocking shelves. "Let me guess, he came over and you both did drugs until you were seeing dancing teddy bears named Ted, cursing with you and drinking beer with you." He couldn't believe what a loser Travis was. Actually, scratch that. He could.
Travis grinned. "Close, but no. He gave me this new drug he has called Morphstasy. It's a cross between morphine and ecstasy. He gave me a free sample to see how I liked it, and let me tell you, that is one trip you will never forget!"
"Is'n that a little dangerous?" Scott asked.
"Aren't all drugs?" Travis quipped.
"Good point," Scott said as he stocked the newest batch of Stephen King Books.
"Anyway, it is made with a very closely calculated amount of both. It's not lethal. The person who engineered it made sure that it was just enough not to get you high without putting you in any harm."
"That puts me at ease," Scott said sarcastically with an eye roll.
"Anyway," Travis said, ignoring Scott's sarcasm, "I ordered some more, which I'll be picking up tonight. It was fun doing it by myself, but I'm sure it would be even more fun doing it with a friend."
"Good luck finding one of those," Scott said dryly.
"Ah, come on, Scottie! Where's your sense of adventure? Don't you want to have a little fun?" Travis pat Scott on the back.
Scott stepped away from him. "I prefer Disney World for fun. And as for my sense of adventure, kayaking and snow boarding will do just find, thank you."
Travis shook his head. "It's a shame, Man. You'll never know what real living is! Morphstasy does things for you years of going to Disney World can't do for you. Neither can kayaking or snow boarding for that matter."
Scott stocked the last book on the shelf, then turned to him. "Yeah, well, I'll live."
"Not the way you could if you took Morphstasy!" Travis said, shaking his head again. "You don't know what you're missing, Man."
"Gee, how will I ever survive?" Scott asked sarcastically. "I already did my half. Now I suggest you do your before the boss gets ugly."
Travis winced. "I'm afraid that ship has already sailed. Man, that woman be all kinds of ugly!"
"Nice!" Scott said sarcastically, though secretly, he was holding back a smile.
"I'm just sayin' that woman is a beast! I've seen dogs better looking than her," Travis said as Scott headed for the door.
Scott smirked since Travis couldn't see him smile now that his back was turned toward Travis.
"Anyway, if you change your mind, you know where I live!" Travis called after him. "I like to do my drugs around dinnertime with a little pizza."
Scott didn't respond. He left the stock room, and headed off for his break. He had had enough of Travis. That guy was bad news all around, and he would be no part of it!

I had finally finished work for the day, and was more than happy to head back home. I was hungry and tired. All I wanted to do was have a quick dinner with the family, then take a shower before watching TV in my room until I fell asleep.
As I was walking through the mall, I couldn't help but see this lady. She looked a lot like Veronica. She had the same dark hair and medium skin tone. She even had her smile. I stood there in amazement as I saw the lady sitting at a table, smiling at her daughter and stroking her daughter's hair as her daughter told her all the things she saw that she hoped Santa brought her.
I sighed. I wondered, if Veronica hadn't died, if that would have been us in a few years. Veronica and I would be married, and we would maybe even have a little girl that looked just like her.
The more I looked at the woman, the more differences I saw. For instance, this woman was at least a good five years older than Veronica. Her hair style was much longer and straighter than Veronica's had been. Still, she was almost as beautiful as Veronica had been, and they did have many of the same features.
Suddenly, a man came over to them, bags in hand, and a huge smile on his face. "There's my beautiful daughter, and my just as beautiful wife!" The guy kissed his wife on the lips. "Oh, Veronica, how did I get so lucky to have a wife as beautiful as you, and a daughter as beautiful as Terry?" the guy asked. He turned to his daughter, and gently stroked her hair as his daughter lovingly looked up at him.
"We're the lucky ones to have a gorgeous husband and father like you, my wonderful Jackson," Veronica purred, her smile so full of love for her family.
I suddenly felt my depression seeping in like the fog on a foggy London night. It was so weird that, out of all the names, she just happened to be named Veronica. What made it even more weird was that she looked like her a little. I missed my Veronica so much! I knew I'd never fully get over her. It was times like these that I missed her so much I literally felt like throwing up. It hurt so bad! I sometimes felt that emotional pain was worse than physical pain. After all, with emotional pain, you sometimes felt the pain long after the scars had healed.

When Scott arrived home, Rufus was cooking dinner. Scott noticed that Rufus didn't give him the usual friendly greeting that Scott had become accustomed to.
"What's up?" Scott asked, resting his elbows on the island.
Rufus looked up at him. "Oh, hey. Dinner will be ready in a moment. Do you mind setting the table?"
"Sure," Scott agreed. He headed over to the cupboards, and took out everything he needed to set the table. He then went over to the table, and set it.
Ten minutes later, Rufus called up the stairs that dinner was ready.
Scott took his usual spot at the table, and Lily came down a brief moment later. She headed straight to her seat, and sat down without even greeting Scott.
Scott knew something was wrong when Lily didn't greet him. She never let a day go by without greeting him upon his arrival home from work. "Hello, Mom. How was your day?" he asked, trying to subtly figure out what was wrong.
Lily looked at him. "You know what? I don't want to talk about it."
Scott was taken aback. Lily never talked to him that way. "O-kay. Did I do something wrong? Are you angry with me?" He didn't know what he could have done to upset her, but nowadays, it seemed he couldn't say or do anything right.
Lily's face softened a bit. "Not at all! I'm sorry if I gave you that impression. You're the good one."
Scott didn't know what she meant by "the good one," but he was glad she wasn't angry with him.
Rufus sighed, and sat down at his usual spot. "Let's just forget about it for the night, all right? We're all under a lot of stress."
Lily looked at him. "I'm not the one you have to worry about, Rufus. It's that monster you call your daughter."
"Lily, don't call her a monster. She's just going through something right now, all right?" Rufus asked wearily.
Lily laughed bitterly. "Jenny's going through something? How about poor Scott here, who just saw his girlfriend being run over and killed?" She motioned to Scott.
Scott suddenly felt sick again as the memory of Veronica being killed played over in his head again like a horror movie.
"Oh, way to go, Lily. Make him feel worse!" Jenny said as she took her seat next to Scott. "You just had to mention that, didn't you? We're trying to make him forget and there you go bringing it up—over dinner nonetheless!"
Lily sighed. She looked at Scott. "I'm sorry, Scott, Darling. I didn't mean to bring it up. I was just making a point that no matter what Jenny is going through, it's not nearly as horrible as what you went through. Anyway, I don't see you tearing up my new Christmas ball dress!"
Jenny sighed, and rolled her eyes. "Oh, give it a rest, Lily! So I ruined your dress. Big deal! It's not like you don't have a million other dresses where that one came from. You're being ridiculous!"
Lily slammed her hand down on the table. "That's not the point, Jennifer! The point is, you went into my closet, and ruined something of mine for no good reason! Anyway, I checked. That was the last dress, and they aren't getting any more in. That was the last of them! I loved that dress, and you just took it from me! You ruined it!"
"Oh, boo, hoo, hoo. Cry me a river! I bet you'd look like an ugly fat cow in it anyway!" Jenny said, slamming her own hand down onto the table.
Lily gasped.
"Jenny, you ruined mom's pretty red Christmas ball dress?" Scott asked in surprise. He knew Jenny hated Lily, but that seemed low even for her. "How could you?"
Jenny glared at him. "Not you too! Gosh, why do you all stick up for her? Ugh!" Jenny yelled.
"Well, of course I'm going to stick up for my mother when you ruined her nice dress! And she wouldn't look like a fat cow in it! She's thin and beautiful!" Scott snapped. He loved his half sister, but honestly, she was acting like a total bitch right then. Lily didn't deserve that.
Jenny suddenly turned on him. She narrowed her eyes at him, and Scott recognized the look. She was about to say something super nasty and mean to him. He braced himself for whatever nasty thing Jenny was about to say to him.
"At least I wasn't stupid enough to get my girlfriend killed by making her stop in the middle of a busy street," Jenny snapped.
Scott felt her harsh words shoot through his heart like one of the bullets he had wanted to kill Travis with. He suddenly wasn't hungry anymore. He sat up from his chair, and headed for the door.
"Scott, wait. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it! I'm sorry!" Jenny called back.
"Scott, she didn't mean it. Just come and sit down," Rufus said calmly.
Scott ignored him. He pushed the button to the elevator, and the doors opened up. He stepped inside.
"Scott! Ignore her! She's a bitch! She doesn't think before speaking!" Lily called out. "Scott, don't leave like this!"
The doors closed, and Scott let the elevator take him down to the lobby. He barely gave Vanya a nod as Vanya greeted him and held the door open for him.
Scott stepped into the cold air, wishing he had remembered to put his coat on. He hailed a taxi, and got in. When the taxi driver asked him where he was headed, he gave him the only address that was currently coming to mind—Travis Freeman's.

"See what you did, you little Brat?" Lily snapped at Jenny. How could you say such a terrible thing to him?"
"Shut up! I feel bad enough already, all right?" Jenny snapped, standing up from the table.
Lily wasn't about to let Jenny off so easily. "I know you hate me, but you don't need to take it out on Scott. He was trying to do something nice that night and propose. He didn't think about where she was standing. He feels horrible about it already. Why on earth did you have to tell him it was his fault?"
"I was angry with you! If you weren't such a bitch all the time then maybe I wouldn't have been angry with you, then I wouldn't have been angry enough to take it out on Scott!" Jenny snapped.
Lily laughed bitterly. "Oh, so now it's my fault you took it out on Scott. Not only are you a brat, but you're delusional as well!"
"I'm not delusional! You're such a bitch who lies, connives, and schemes her way through life. How you got my father to fall for you is beyond me. I guess you're just really good at manipulating. Well, guess what? I'm smarter than he is. But, you know what? If he wants to be to be a stupid idiot and marry you, then he can be my guest! But I won't be part of it any more. I'll stay here until after Christmas only because Scott needs me, but then I am so out of here!" Jenny yelled.
"You can get out of here now for all I care! Scott doesn't need the mental abuse you're giving him!" Lily yelled back.
"Gosh, I hate you so much!" Jenny screamed.
"Yeah, well, the feeling is mutual you bratty little bitch!" Lily screamed back.
"All right, enough!" Rufus suddenly yelled, causing both Lily and Jenny to jump.
Lily had been so caught up in the moment, she had forgotten Rufus was there.
"I'm sick of you two being at each other's throats all the time. And don't you dare say the other started it. You to are adults, and I am absolutely appalled at how immature you are both acting right now! You're acting like a bunch of bratty junior highers. Now, Jenny, I know you don't like Lily, and that's very unfortunate. But you're going to have to get used to Lily because, like it or not, she's going to be my wife, and for good this time at that. I love her, and I love you. I love you both in different ways, but that doesn't make me love one of you any more than the other no matter what you may think. I'm sorry I hit you today. That is not any reflection of my love for you. It doesn't mean I love you less than I love Lily. It just means I lost my temper. It will never happen again, I assure you. And Lily, Jenny is much younger than you. She may be in her twenties, but adult or not, one is still growing up in his or her twenties. You should know that more than anyone. So Jenny's in a bit of a rebellious stage. It will pass, I promise. I know it's hard, but please just ignore her. Don't make things worse by adding fuel to the fire. Are you two listening?" Rufus asked.
Lily and Jenny both nodded.
Rufus turned back to Jenny. "Jenny, I love you more than I love myself. You are my daughter—my only baby girl! You can't possibly know how much I love you. I love you unconditionally. You are my heart." He turned to Lily. "And you, Lily, are the one great love of my life. You are my reason for waking up happy every morning. My sun rises and sets upon you. I don't think I could live without you." He turned back to Jenny. "Or you." He then alternated looking at Lily and Jenny. "The truth is, I'd give my own life for either of you. I need both of you to make my world happy. So can you please be civil to each other even though you don't like each other? For me?"
Jenny crossed her arms over her chest. "Fine. Lily, I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you, and for the names I called you. I'm also sorry for ruining your dress. You would have looked pretty in it—not like a fat cow. You're not even fat."
Lily smiled weakly. Jenny's tone didn't sound too pleasant, and she wasn't sure that Jenny was really all that sorry, but if Jenny was going to try to play nice, then who was Lily to not play nice? Anyway, she would do anything for Rufus, and if it meant getting along with Jenny, no matter how much of a brat she was, Lily would do that.
"I'm sorry for all the names I called you too, Jennifer. I know you didn't mean to upset Scott. We all say things we don't mean in the heat of the moment. It's what makes us human. And, as for the dress, well, you were right. I have the means to get another dress. It doesn't have to be that one. It's New York City, and there are hundreds of beautiful dresses in New York City," Lily replied.
Rufus grinned. "That's better! Now hug it out."
Lily and Jenny both shot a look at Rufus, and said in unison, "Don't push it!"
Rufus held up his hands in defense. "All right, all right. Hug me instead then."
Lily let Jenny hug him first, then she took her turn.
"I love you guys so much! Don't ever forget it," Rufus told them.
"I love you too, but enough is enough. This is starting to make me feel like I'm part of The Brady Bunch. Gag me," Jenny said, heading up the stairs.
"And I love you! Don't worry," Lily said as she wrapped her arms around Rufus. "I'm not one to shy away from love and affection." She kissed Rufus sweetly on the lips.
Rufus moaned into the kiss, and pulled her closer, hungrily kissing her back.
Lily then broke the kiss. "So, you hit Jenny?"
Rufus nodded. "When she called you a stupid bitch, or whatever it was, I lost it, and slapped her across the face. I know it was wrong, and I shouldn't have hit her. I just couldn't stand hearing her call you that when you're not a bitch. You've changed a lot over the last five years."
Lily smirked, and raised an eyebrow. "So, I used to be a bitch?"
Rufus paused for a moment. "Well, no, I just meant—"
Lily cut him off with a laugh. "I'm kidding! I know I could be a real bitch sometimes. Heck, I still can. But only when absolutely necessary." She smiled and winked at Rufus.
Rufus laughed. "Because everyone has to get tough once in a while."
Lily nodded. "Exactly!"
They grinned at each other then kissed some more.

Scott knocked on Travis' door. He couldn't believe he was there, but he honestly didn't know where else to go.
Travis opened the door, then smiled big when he saw Scott there. "Dude, you changed your mind! You're right on time. Come on in. I was just about to take my first pill." He stepped back and allowed Scott in.
Scott raised an eyebrow as he stepped in. "Your first pill? Isn't more than one pushing it?"
"Not if I wait for the first one to wear off before I pop the next one. One pill only lasts for an hour, and I plan to be at this all night!" Travis replied, shutting and locking the door behind Scott.
Scott plopped down onto Travis' couch. There was an open box of pizza on the coffee table. He took a slice, then propped his feet up on the coffee table next to the pizza. "I'm just here to chill. I don't think I want to take a pill."
"Aw, come on! You're here. Something must have happened for you to change your mind and come here," Travis said, sitting down beside him, and taking a slice of pizza himself.
"My half sister is acting like a little bitch. She hates my mom. She ruined my mom's new dress, then she told me that it was my fault Veronica got hit since I made her stop in the middle of the road." Scott didn't know why he was confessing all of this to Travis of all people, but it felt good to vent, and right now, Travis was his only venting outlet, so Travis would have to do.
Travis winced. "Oo, that's harsh, Man. It wasn't your fault. You were just trying to propose. It was my fault. I know that."
Scott looked at him. "Well, thank you for admitting that."
Travis shrugged. "What can I say? Being about to take Morphstasy puts me in a good mood." He took a bite of his pizza.
Scott took a bite of his own pizza and chewed it was he thought about the pill. He could use something to take the edge off. He looked at Travis. "Are you sure the pill is a hundred percent safe?"
Travis nodded. "As long as you only take one at a time, and don't take it with alcohol, you'll be fine."
Scott sighed. He was so depressed. The fight and Jenny blaming him didn't help things. Maybe he should take the pill. After all, if it could help him get rid of his depression even if just for an hour, it would be a relief. He didn't like feeling this depression. It was too much for him. Anyway, if he decided he didn't like the pill, it would wear off in an hour, and he'd never have to take it again.
He looked over at Travis. "So, let's take those pills!"
Travis grinned at him, and raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
Scott nodded. "Really. Let's do it! I need to forget my problems for a while."
Travis put down his pizza slice, and got up off the couch. "You won't regret this, Dude. I promise you it will take the edge off big time! You'll feel like you're in the land of euphoria. You're going to love it! All your cares will just let away."
Scott sighed. "I sure hope so."
Travis came over and sat down next to him, a baggie in his hand. He opened the baggie, and took out a pill. He handed it to Scott. He also took the other pill out for himself. He then poured them each a glass of Pepsi from the bottle on the coffee table. "I had an extra glass in case you changed your mind and came over," Travis explained.
Scott smirked.
"Ready?" Travis asked. "We'll do it together on three."
Scott nodded.
Travis counted off. "One, two, three!" He tossed the pill in his mouth, and downed it with his soda.
Scott looked at his pill. He took a deep breath and slowly let it out. "Here goes nothing!" He said before popping his Morphstasy pill in his mouth and washing it down with his soda.
~Begin Again~
Everything in the room looked like rainbows. The couch, the TV, and even the pizza was colored rainbow. "Man, why did I have everything painted rainbow?" Travis asked. "I mean, Dude! I'm not gay!"
Scott cracked up. "I don't even remember it being rainbow when I came in. It was all normal and stuff."
Travis laughed. "I know, right? I don't even remember having this all painted rainbow. I mean, how did the pizza get to be rainbow colored?"
"I don't know, but it tastes the same." Scott took another slice of pizza and ate it. "I wonder if I'll poop out rainbows now."
Both boys began to laugh hysterically.
"It's gotta be the drugs, Man. Doesn't Morphstasy make you feel so good?" Travis asked.
Scott nodded. "I gotta admit, this stuff is as good as you said it'd be. I don't feel my depression anymore. All I feel is...happy!"
"You remember what happy feels like?" Travis asked.
"Good point," Scott said.
They laughed again.
"See, aren't you glad I invited you over? I'm not that bad of a guy, am I?" Travis asked. He smiled over at his new friend.
Scott smiled back. "No, I guess not. Though, you did kill my girlfriend. That wasn't being a very good friend."
"No, I guess it wasn't," Travis said.
They were serious for only a few seconds before they grinned at each other again, and broke into another fit of laughter.
"I tried to keep it serious, but I just couldn't!" Scott said.
"Me neither!" Travis replied.
Travis was so glad that Scott was his friend. He knew that after the drugs wore off, things might change, but for now, at least he had a friend, and at least he could forgive himself for what he had done to Veronica. That is, until the drugs wore off.

For the next hour, Scott and I stuffed our faces with pizza, and enjoyed the hour long high we were on.
"Rainbow pizza tastes the same as regular pizza. I'm kind of sad about that. But not a big sad like I'm used to feeling," Scott said as he finished the second to last slice of pizza.
"Maybe we can get our money back," I said before stuffing my face with the last slice of pizza. "After all, it doesn't taste like rainbows."
"Maybe we should have gotten a bag of Skittles if we wanted to taste the rainbow," Scott commented.
We both started laughing again.
"One thing I like about these drugs is we're both a lot funnier after we take them," I said to him.
Scott nodded. "So true!"
We then proceeded to talk about aliens, and how maybe our family members were aliens, and that is why they acted so weird. Or, maybe we were the aliens, and that is why we couldn't relate to them. We weren't making much sense at all, but then again, no one ever really made much sense when it came to drugs.
When the drugs were finally starting to wear off, we were both so tired.
"Do you mind if I crash here for the night?" Scott asked.
"Not in my bed," I said. "I may still be a little high, but I'm not that high!"
We both laughed.
"You can sleep on the couch. I'll get you a pillow and a blanket," I said, getting off the couch.
"Thanks," Scott said. He stretched out on the couch, and closed his eyes. "You're a good friend."
"Thanks, you are too," I said. "I could only wonder what his reaction would be tomorrow once he awoke with a fully sober mind. Heck, I wondered what my reaction would be. I guess I'd just have to wait and see.
~BA~
The next morning, Travis headed to the living room to see how Scott was doing. He found the couch empty. The blanket was folded up nicely at one end of the couch with the pillow on top of it. There was a small note on top of the pillow.
Travis, thanks for the good time last night, and for letting me crash with you. I had to get to work, so forgive me for leaving without saying goodbye. I'm still not sure I want to be friends with you, but I'll admit, you're not as bad as I originally thought you were. Talk to you later. -Scott
Travis grinned, and set the note back down. Well, they may not be the best of buds yet, but it was a start. Anyway, he'd settle for a drug buddy to take drugs with. Scott would be back for more. Travis knew he would be. That was the thing about Morphstasy that he might have purposely forgotten to mention to Scott. It was highly addictive. Once you took it, you always came back for more. Travis knew he should have told Scott this before Scott took it, but if he had, Scott might not have taken it. At least this way, Travis now had a drug buddy.
Travis smiled even bigger. Scott would thank him for this in the end.
