Begin Again Season Two
Episode 18: I Love You Always Forever
The music stopped, the strippers dressed, and those who had their tops off put them back on.
Serena paid the strippers, and they promptly took off. Rufus wondered if they left so quickly because they were afraid he was going to get angry.
"Well, it looks like you guys were having the time of your lives. I'm sorry I interrupted," he said, slightly coldly.
"Don't be angry with Mom," Serena said. "I talked her into the strippers. She was totally against them at first."
"I'm not mad. She's a grown woman and has the right to have whatever she wants to have at her bachelorette party," Rufus said. His tone was colder than he meant for it to be.
"Well, we'll let you two be alone," Blair said. She nodded toward her mother. "Come on, Mom. I'll give you a ride home in the limo."
Eleanor grabbed the blow up penis she had with her. "Do you mind if I take this?" she asked Lily.
Lily motioned for her to take it.
"Thanks!" Eleanor said with a grin.
Blair rolled her eyes, and grabbed the penis they had used to play the ring toss. "I borrowed it from a friend," she explained, in reference to the ring toss one. The rings were already around it.
"See you tomorrow, Mom!" Serena said.
"See you tomorrow," Lily said gently.
Eleanor, Blair, and Serena then quickly made an escape.
Once they were gone, Lily sighed. "All right. Let me have it. You're angry with me. I can tell by the tone of your voice and the look on your face." She plopped herself down onto the couch.
Rufus walked over and plopped himself down next to her. "I'm not angry, Lil. It's like I told Serena, you're a grown woman and you can do whatever you'd like to do at your bachelorette party. I'm just a little disappointed is all. The guys took me to a strip club, but I turned down a lap dance and I left because I felt like I'd be betraying you if I were to stay. I came here looking for you because I missed you, then I find you getting a lap dance and enjoying strippers of your own."
Lily blushed. "I'm really sorry, Rufus! Honestly, I didn't want them at first. But the girls were cheering me on, and it seemed like something fun and impulsive to do on my last night of being single. I guess I was just going with the crowd. I didn't kiss them or anything like that if that's what you're worried about. In fact, the whole time I was thinking about how I wished you were one of the strippers instead."
Rufus grinned. "Really? Surely those guys are younger, and have much better bodies than I have."
Lily shook her head. "I only have eyes for you. You're the perfect age and have the perfect body for me. I love everything about you." She gently stroked his cheek.
Rufus kissed her. "And I love everything about you! I'm sorry I ruined your bachelorette party."
Lily hit the air with her hand. "You didn't ruin it! You're here, and that is what I wanted all along!"
Rufus kissed her again, and she lovingly returned the kiss.
"So, do I get you for the full night?" Lily asked hopefully.
Rufus shook his head. "Nope! You're going to have to wait until tomorrow night for that!"
Lily pouted. "Oh, fine! Well, will you at least stay with me for a little while longer at least?" She rested her head on his shoulder.
He kissed the top of her head. "Of course!" He then smiled. "You know, that was quite a sight I walked in on when I first got here. Who would have thought Eleanor was such a pervert?"
Lily cackled. "I know, right? I think she was enjoying it more than the rest of us."
"Well, with a tiny little shriveled up man for a husband, can you blame her? Gosh, she probably needs a magnifying glass and an iron before she and Cyrus can get intimate," Rufus joked.
Lily burst out laughing, and swatted Rufus on the arm. "You're so bad! Oh my gosh, poor Cyrus."
"Seriously though, he's a nice man, but did you ever notice how short he is? He's like a little leprechaun!" Rufus continued.
Lily laughed even harder. "Oh my gosh, I'll never look at that man the same way again!"
Rufus grinned; happy that he was able to make his love laugh.
Once she was able to stop laughing, Lily rested her head on his shoulder again. "Are you nervous about tomorrow?" she asked him.
Rufus shook his head. "Why would I be? I'm marrying the one great love of my life." He kissed the top of her head. "And this time, it will last."
Lily smiled up at him. "I'm a little nervous. Don't get me wrong, I am a hundred percent sure I want to marry you."
"Well, that's good," Rufus said with a nervous laugh.
"I just want everything to be perfect. This will be my last wedding, so I want everything to be beautiful and magical." She blushed. "That sounds stupid, doesn't it?"
Rufus shook his head. "Not at all. If you want a beautiful and magical wedding, then you're going to get it! I'll see to it that everything goes perfectly tomorrow."
Lily took his face between her hands and kissed him softly on the lips. "Thank you. I'm so lucky to have you."
Rufus' eyes lowered with love for her. "It is I who is the lucky one, my Love."
They kissed some more.
Finally, Rufus broke the kiss after a bit. He stood up. "I guess I'd better be going. I need my beauty sleep for tomorrow," he teased.
Lily grinned, and stood up as well. "You're already beautiful."
"Look who's talking!" he said, pulling her in for another kiss.
She was the one to break the kiss this time. "Imagine how wild the bachelorette party would have been if Jenny hadn't had to work!"
"Oh my gosh, I do not want to imagine the things my daughter would have been doing that that party!" Rufus said with a groan.
Lily laughed. "You'd probably have another heart attack."
Rufus nodded. "You know it!" He then headed for the door.
Lily followed him, and they stopped at the doorway.
"The next time I see you, you will be walking down the aisle toward me," Rufus told her.
"I can hardly wait!" Lily assured him.
"Neither can I," he said, his eyes lowered as he gently stroked her cheek.
They kissed for a moment more before he bid her ado and left.
He smiled as he left. He could hardly wait to hear the minister pronounce them husband and wife. Then, nothing would ever keep them apart ever again.
~Begin Again~
Lily awoke with a smile on her face. Today was the day! Today was the day she was going to marry Rufus and all their dreams would come true. She hopped out of bed, grabbed her clean undergarments, and, humming "Going To the Chapel," she headed into the bathroom to shower.
As she washed her hair and body, she thought of Rufus' smiling face. She wondered what he would think about her wedding dress, and if he'd find her beautiful in it. She sure hoped so!
After she finished showering, she dried off, spritzed her self with lily scented body spray, then dressed. She would put her wedding gown on once she was in the church. For now, Blair and Serena were talking her out for a quick breakfast before carting her off to the church to get ready. Her hairstylist had taken the day off so that she could come to the church and do Lily's hair for her. Her manicurist would also be there to touch up her nails.
Once Lily was ready to go, Serena and Blair arrived as if on cue.
"Are you all ready to go?" Serena asked, a huge smile on her face.
Lily nodded.
"Are you nervous?" Blair asked, a knowing smile on her face.
Lily nodded. "Like you wouldn't believe!"
Serena and Blair looked at each other and grinned. "It's true love!" they said in unison. They then looked back at Lily.
"I felt the same way when marrying Chuck," Blair admitted.
Serena nodded. "And I felt the same way when marrying Dan. But I also felt like I was doing something so right."
"Same here," Blair agreed with a nod.
"And I know a hundred percent I'm doing the right thing," Lily said. "I just don't want to mess it up this time."
"You won't! Now, come on. Let's go get you fed then dressed," Serena said, her hands over Lily's shoulders from behind.
The three women then left for breakfast, all excited for the day, but Lily the most excited of them all.

I turned around in front of the mirror, examining my dress on myself yet again. I hadn't even gotten my hair or makeup done yet, but I still felt beautiful in the dress. I twirled around, looking at myself from all angles. It was the most beautiful I'd felt in a very long while. In fact, I loved this dress more than any of my other wedding dresses, and there had been a lot!
"All right, Mom, stop staring at yourself. You have to get your makeup and hair done now," Serena said; amused.
I turned around and smiled at her, a slight blush to my cheeks. "I can't help it if I'm beautiful!" I joked.
"You're right; you're incredibly beautiful," Serena agreed.
I hugged her, and kissed her cheek. "Such a sweet daughter I have!" I said before sitting back in my chair.
"I'm just stating the truth!" she said.
I then sat back and let my hair dresser do her thing while my manicurist touched up my nails. Once my hair was done, my hair stylist would do my makeup as well, then it would be time to become Mrs. Rufus Humphrey for the second and final time. Even though I was nervous, I knew this would be the best day of my life, and I hoped it would be the best day of Rufus' life as well.

The music began to play. Lily stood outside the doors, her bouquet in hand. Chuck stood by her side, her hand in his. He gently squeezed it.
"Are you ready?" Chuck asked.
"As I'll ever be," Lily said with a sigh. She then smiled at her son. "Thank you so much for agreeing to give me away. Now that my mom's gone, my father's MIA, and my sister's in jail, well... I didn't really have anyone."
Chuck kissed her cheek. "You'll always have me, and I'm honored to give you away. You're my mother, and I love you."
Lily started to get teary-eyed. "I love you too. So much!"
"Don't cry, Mom. Your makeup will run," Chuck warned.
Lily laughed. "Blair has taught you well!"
Chuck nodded. "Sadly!"
Lily grinned.
The wedding match started up then.
"Well, ready or not, it's time," Chuck said.
Lily nodded. The doors opened. "Let's do this," she said.
They then slowly headed down the aisle.
Lily saw how handsome Rufus looked in his red tux. He was smiling at her, and looking at her with so much love in his eyes. She hoped he could see in her eyes how much she loved him as well.
She reached Rufus.
Chuck lifted her veil just enough to kiss her cheek, and whisper "I love you," in her ear. Then, he took his spot behind Nate, for he was also one of Rufus' groomsmen.
Rufus lifted her veil. "You look so beautiful. You take my breath away, Lil," he murmured to her.
Lily smiled. She had been hoping to take Rufus' breath away, and she had! "And you look so handsome. You take my breath away as well, my Darling," she murmured back. She wished they didn't have to wait until the end to kiss.
The minister began the ceremony, and when it got to the part about asking who gave Lily to Rufus, Chuck proudly stated that he did.
Chuck and Lily smiled at each other, and Lily blew him a kiss, which he pretended to catch.
The ceremony then continued. Rufus and Lily lit the ceremonial candle that representing their hearts coming together in one love for each other.
Then, Rufus surprised Lily by singing "Every Time," the song he had written for her when they were younger.
Lily of course cried from happiness.
Serena and Jenny read scriptures about love.
Then, it was time for their vows to begin.
Lily was up first. "Where do I begin? I didn't write my vows because, I've never really been good with writing down my feelings. I think that vows are best coming from the heart anyway, so I might as well just tell you what's in my heart, right?"
Rufus smiled, and nodded.
Lily continued. "First off, I just want to thank you for giving me so many chances. After the way I've treated you in the past, you could have just left me, and never looked back. However, you never gave up on me for long. You always came back to me like a boomerang. I can't even express how much that means to me. I love you more than my heart can bear sometimes, Rufus. I promise you that I will love you for always, and I will never make the stupid mistake of letting you go ever again. Like we've sad many times since you proposed to me—this time, our marriage will be for good."
Rufus smiled at Lily. He took her hands in his own and kissed them.
She then repeated the traditional vows after the minister before placing Rufus' wedding band on his left ring finger. Henry was the ring bearer and had given them the rings. It was so cute!
Now, it was Rufus' turn to give his vows.
Lily waited in anticipation. She could hardly wait to hear what he had to say.
~Begin Again~
"My beautiful Lily, my Lil... Words can't even express how much I love you. You said you wanted this wedding to be beautiful and magical. Well, let me tell you, it became beautiful and magical the moment you walked through those doors to me. There is no woman on earth who can even hold a candle to your beauty, and each day, you take my breath away more and more. As the late, great, William Shakespeare once said, 'I have never seen true beauty until this night.' Or, in my case, until the day you walked into my life. You are the one great love of my life, Lily. I'm sorry for letting you let me go all those times. I promise to never let anything more come between us for the rest of our lives. I need you like I need oxygen, Lily—maybe even more because life without you isn't a life worth living. I promise to spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you make me."
The tears were streaming down Lily's cheeks again.
"It's a good thing I put waterproof products on her!" Lily's hair stylist and makeup artist called out.
They all laughed.
The minister then read the traditional vows to Rufus, and Rufus repeated them before slipping the wedding band on Lily's left ring finger.
"By the powers vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Humphrey! You may kiss the bride!" the minister announced proudly.
Rufus cried out in happiness, and Lily laughed with glee.
They then kissed long and passionately. Rufus was so happy to finally have made Lily his wife! This time, he was never letting her go.
"You're stuck with me now, Mrs. Humphrey!" he told her after they kissed.
Lily took his face between her hands and grinned. "There's no one I'd rather be stuck with than you, Mr. Humphrey!"
Rufus grinned too, and they kissed once more as everyone around them cheered and hollered their happiness over their marriage.
They then broke the kiss, and, grinning at their guests, they bowed together, then took off down the aisle, running down the aisle and laughing with glee, both Rufus and Lily happier than they'd been since the first time they got married. In fact, they were even happier, because this time, it was for good, and they both knew it!
~Begin Again~
"I love you so much. I didn't think it was possible for me to love you as much as I already did, but I do," Rufus said to his bride as they danced the first song of the night together. They were dancing to K-Ci and JoJo's "All My Life."
"I feel the same way about you, my Darling. My heart is just so bursting with love for you right now. I never knew my heart could hold so much love but it does, and it's all for you," Lily said, gently stroking her husband's cheek.
Rufus smiled at her, and they kissed. "I can hardly wait until we leave for our honeymoon tonight."
Lily grinned. "I can hardly wait for our wedding night."
Rufus licked his lips. "Mm, that makes two of us!"
They grinned at each other.
They continued to dance together, holding each other close, and just enjoying their first few hours of being married.
"We finally did it!" Rufus said. "We finally managed to remarry after all the garbage we went through."
Lily nodded. "I never thought I'd be saying this about any man, but I'm glad William cheated on me. It allowed me to be with the man I really loved." She stroked Rufus' cheek again, her eyes locked on his.
Rufus looked into her eyes and could hardly believe he was so lucky to have won over the heart of the most beautiful woman in the world. Now that he had her, he was never going to let her go. "I promise to never cheat on you, Lily. I have no need to. I have the only woman I could ever love right here with me as my wife."
Lily kissed him, and they continued to dance until the song came to an end.
"Do you mind if I cut in?" Chuck asked." He smiled at Lily. "It's my turn now."
Rufus smiled too. "Go ahead." He then went off to find Jenny to see if she'd be up for a father daughter dance.
~Begin Again~
As Boys II Men's "A Song for Mama," began to play," Chuck took Lily into his arms and began to dance with her.
"Why are they playing music from three decades ago?" Chuck asked with a smirk. "Didn't you guys have anything recent?"
Lily smiled. "Some songs are timeless."
"Like yours and Rufus' love," Chuck stated.
Lily nodded. "Exactly!"
"You look so beautiful tonight, Mom. I mean, you always look beautiful, but tonight, wow!" Chuck said.
"Oh, Charles, you always did know just what to say to make me smile," Lily said with, of course a smile on her face.
They danced for a moment, then Chuck stopped. "Eric and Scott are going to want to take their turns next, so I'll make this quick. I just wanted to show you something I got done for you last night." He took off his suit jacket, unbuttoned his dress sleeve, then rolled up his sleeve and showed Lily his Mom tattoo. He laughed as Lily began to cry. "Dan said you'd probably cry."
Lily pulled him into a tight hug. "I have no words except to say I love it, and I love you. You mean so much to me, Charles. Adopting you was one of the smartest things I've ever done."
Chuck hugged his mother tightly back, then pulled away, and looked up at her with an eyebrow raised. "One of the smartest things?"
Lily rolled her eyes and smiled. "All right, thee smartest thing!"
Chuck laughed. "That's better!"
Scott cut in then, and Chuck let him dance with Lily. He pulled his sleeve back down and re-buttoned it, then put his jacket back on and headed to find Blair.
"So, how's rehab going?" Lily asked her son.
Scott smiled. "It's going great! Everyone there is so nice and supportive. Travis actually turned out to be a cool guy. We're practically inseparable. Well, him, myself, and Mandy of course."
Lily smiled. "And are you and Mandy getting closer?"
"Mom, I'm not ready for that yet, and I don't know when I will be. But maybe one day. Who knows?"
"I just want you to be as happy as I am," Lily said.
Scott smiled. "I know, and I'm getting there, Mom. It just takes some time."
Lily held her son close, and kissed the top of his head, then they continued to dance until it was Eric's turn.
"So, you finally married Rufus again," Eric said with a grin. He then grew serious. "Don't mess it up this time, Mom, all right? I love Dad, but I honestly love Rufus more. He's been more of a father to me than William ever has been."
"I won't! I love him, Eric, and I know he how he's the only one I could ever love. I won't mess it up again this time. I promise!"
"Good! I already had the talk with Rufus about not messing things up, and he promised me he'd never be that stupid again."
Lily grinned. "Good to know."
"I'm glad I wasn't able to make the bachelor party. I am not the tattoo type, and they would have mocked me had I not got one. But Chuck's tattoo is awesome, isn't it?" Eric asked.
Lily smiled at her son's not wanting to get a tattoo. He was such a mature, young man, and he would always be her little boy no matter how old he got! "It's really cool, and I love it! But don't worry, I love that at least one of my sons has no tattoos." She kissed Eric's cheek and held him tightly.
Eric smiled.
The song changed then, and Serena came over. Bon Jovi's "Livin' On a Prayer" began to play.
Serena grabbed her hand. "Come on, Mom, let's dance!"
Lily laughed, and let Serena spin her around.
Together they danced. Lily had all her kids and her husband by her side, and she knew that there was nothing more she needed in life. She had it all here with her. And that made her the happiest woman alive.
~Begin Again~
Dinner had been delicious. Rufus and Lily had cut the cake afterwards, and everyone cheered as they smashed the cake into each other's faces.
Rufus even licked some off Lily's face, which made Lily giggle.
They then wiped off their faces with napkins, and sat down to enjoy their cake and listen to the speeches being given. Dan and Serena had already given a speech, as had Eric and Chuck. Scott was just wrapping his up.
"And, as tough as seeing my girlfriend die right before my eyes was, I know I can get through it because I have the best, most loving parents a guy could ever ask for. I know they will be with me every step of the way, and that I can come to them for anything at anytime. They are always here for me when I need them, and now I'm lucky enough that they married each other, so now my family is complete again. And that is really all I could ever ask for. I love you Mom and Dad. Congrats on getting it right this time!" He held up his glass in the air.
Everyone toasted their glasses, then applauded his speech after drinking down their Champaign.
"I love you," Lily mouthed to Scott.
"I love you, Son!" Rufus called out.
It was Jenny's turn.
She went up there and smiled. "Don't worry, Lily. You're not going to have to have security escort me out!" she joked.
Lily cackled, and Rufus sighed with relief. He knew that Jenny had changed, but he still worried she had some secret plot to embarrass Lily and take her down at her own wedding.
"I just want to say, I know I've been terrible to you. I mean, come on. I worked with your ex husband to try to break you and my Dad up when you were married the first time. More recently, I tore your beautiful new Christmas ball dress to shreds. I made it look like you shop lifted, and almost got you arrested. And that isn't even the end of it. I have said so many horrible things to you that I can't even remember them all. And yet, you forgave me for it all. You and Dad both did. Not only that, but you learned CPR so that if any of us kids or Dad ever needed it, you could save us. I was such a bitch to you, yet you were taking lessons on how to save me and protect me if anything bad were to ever happen to me. Then, when Dad had that heart attack, you saved him and I knew then that Dad had chosen the right woman. I guess deep down maybe I just wasn't ready to share my father with anyone. But now, I couldn't feel more honored than to share him with you. You're the best stepmother a girl could ask for, Lily. I finally realize that Dad made the best decision he's ever made in his life other than having me. He had to try a couple times to get an amazing daughter, and he had to try a couple times until he got it right with you. So, let's just chalk it up to him being slow and call it a day, all right?"
Lily laughed. "Sounds good!" she called out.
"Hey!" Rufus said with a pout.
They all laughed.
"Seriously though, Dad, you know I love you. I'm the luckiest girl alive to have a father like you, and I honestly don't think I could have survived if that heart attack took your life. Lily, I love you like I love my own mother. Just don't tell her that. Thank you for saving my father. It's a debt I will never be able to repay you. Here's to a long and happy marriage that lasts forever for you and my father." She held up her glass.
Everyone toasted and drank again, then Lily ran up to Jenny and hugged her. "I love you like my own daughter too, Jennifer. Thank you for all the kind words you said," she said to Jenny.
Jenny smiled. "You're very welcome! I meant every word."
~Begin Again~
After dessert, Rufus and Lily had to be going shortly in order to catch their flight to Aruba for their honeymoon.
It was time to toss the bouquet.
Rufus watched as all the single girls gathered around like a flock of hungry seagulls around a dropped hot dog.
"Ready?" Lily called out. "One... Two... Three!" She threw the bouquet over her right shoulder, and the girls acted like animals pushing past each other to catch it. Jenny ended up catching it. She grinned proudly, and held it up in the air. "Yes! Now who is going to be my lucky groom?"
"Let's find out!" Rufus teased. He walked over to Lily, who sat down on a chair.
He then hiked up her dress, revealing her blue guarder. He grinned at her, then pulled it down with his teeth.
Lily smirked. "You animal!" she teased.
"You know it!" Rufus said with a grin and a wink as he pulled it off her leg. He then stood up, and faced the single boys. "Get ready because here it comes!" he warned before flinging it like a slingshot.
He watched it sail across the room. The men were a little bit lazier when it came to catching it, but they tried. They didn't move much to try catching it, but they did. Then one hand came up form the crowd and caught the guarder effortlessly.
Rufus craned his neck to see who had caught it. He then saw Travis emerge from the crowd, a huge grin on his face.
"I caught it!" Travis announced, a cocky grin on his face. He looked over at Jenny, winked at her, and clicked his tongue. "It looks like it's you and me, Baby!"
Jenny looked shocked and disgusted.
Rufus shook his head. Over his dead body! It was a good thing this was only a game, and not set in stone, for if Jenny married Travis, Rufus felt he just might have another heart attack!

Lily and I rushed into the limo, laughing as the bubbles covered us. We had gone for people blowing bubbles at us instead of throwing rice. It was so less messy than rice was. Plus, according to Lily, it was prettier.
Lily got into the white limo first, then I did.
Once the driver had shut the door, we kissed. The divider was up. We had all the privacy we needed. Not that we needed that much privacy. We were saving the good stuff for the wedding night.
Anyway, Lily rested her head on my shoulder and sighed contently. "I love being Mrs. Rufus Humphrey. I don't know why I ever let that name go to begin with."
"You have to admit, it's a lot better than sharing your last name with a fish," I said, in reference to Bass.
Lily laughed. "Indeed it is! And it's not as high class and snobby as Van der Woodsen sounds either."
"True. You know," I said as I gently ran a finger up and down her arm, "I was thinking, now that we're married, why don't we find a place that's just ours like we always talked about?"
Lily smiled up at me. "You know what? I'd love that! It's a fresh start for us, so why not a fresh house too?"
"Exactly!" I said. "You know, I really, really, love you."
"And I really, really, love you," she said with a smile, nuzzling her nose against mine.
We kissed again.
Lily and I had both changed into more casual outfits. Serena and Dan would bring our wedding attire home.
As Lily lay comfortably in my arms, I knew I was the luckiest man on earth. I was married to the woman of my dreams, and I had the best kids a guy could ever ask for. Jenny's speech had just blown me away. She had really gown up in the past few years. Heck, she'd grown in the past few months even. I was a very lucky man, and I was never going to take any of it for granted ever again.
~BA~
The flight wasn't too bad. They arrived safely in Aruba tired, but ready for their wedding night.
They checked into their hotel, then headed up to their room.
Lily laughed as Rufus carried her over the threshold into the room.
"Wow, look at this room. It's so beautiful!" Lily gushed as she saw the balcony that led out to a beautiful view overlooking the ocean.
"They did give us the honeymoons suite. The receptionist told me it's the best room in the whole place!" Rufus said, coming up behind her, and wrapping his arms around her.
The king-sized bed had red and white rose petals surrounding it, as well as on top of it. There was a heart shaped box on top of the bed and a little note welcoming them to the hotel and congratulating them on their marriage.
Lily walked over to the box and picked up a card. "Enjoy these on the house as a wedding present from us to you," she read out loud. She then opened the box, revealing a dozen chocolate covered strawberries lined up in a heart shape.
"Well, that was nice of them!" Rufus said.
Lily nodded. "Yeah, it was!" She took out one, and held it to his lips. "Try one."
Rufus took a big bite of the strawberry. "Mm," he said. He chewed and swallowed the berry, then licked his lips. "Delicious!" He took another one out of the box, and fed it to her.
Her reaction was the same as his, only her eyes rolled back a bit. "Mm, so good!"
Rufus smiled. "It sounds like we've already started our wedding night even though we haven't!" he joked.
Lily laughed. "I have to go to the bathroom, then we can start it." She pulled him close and kissed him.
"Mm, I can hardly wait," he told her, kissing her in return.
So, Lily went to the bathroom, and came out five minutes later wearing a beautiful white negligée.
"You look as beautiful now as you did in your wedding dress—maybe even more," Rufus gushed, his eyes trailing up and down her body.
She grinned. "Maybe I should have married you in this then, hm?"
Rufus laughed. "I wouldn't have been able to concentrate on the ceremony if you had!" He clicked off the lights, and lit a few white candles that the hotel had provided. Then, he walked over to Lily, took her in his arms, and kissed down the side of her neck. "I promise I'll be a good husband this time, Lil. I'll never make you want to leave me again. You have my word."
Lily stroked his hair. "I'm never going to want to leave you, Rufus. You've always been a good husband. I've just been too blind to see it until now. I promise to be the perfect wife for you."
"I never want you to be perfect, Lil. Nobody's perfect. I just want you to love me," Rufus told her. His eyes lowered with love for her. "And I want you to let me love you."
"Always, Rufus. I will love you always. And this time, I'll never reject your love again. It's forever this time, Rufus. Forever and always," Lily said, still stroking Rufus' hair." She kissed his jaw.
"Forever and always," Rufus said, his eyes and heart filled to the brim with love for her.
Lily's eyes lowered with love for him as well, and Rufus knew that her heart matched her eyes.
He then picked her up and carried her to the bed so that they could finally start the rest of their lives together—forever this time.
~The End~
Author's Note:
Well, this is it! I have stopped getting reviews except for complaints. I've kind of lost my interest in Rufus and Lily, and Matthew and Kelly. I still want Matthew and Kelly together, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen, so I've moved on. I think that, paired with the demanding schedule I put up for myself, I just got tired of writing. Also, why write when the reviews stop and people complain? It's only constructive to me when you add something nice, or say it nicely.
Anyway, I'm not saying I'll never write fanfiction again. I'm also not saying I will. I am taking a break from all things Matly and Rufly. I've stopped enjoying writing because of writing so much of the same thing. It shows in my wiring. I need to move back to originals. That's where my heart's really at.
I wouldn't be opposed to eventually writing more to this series. It might just be a mini thing with five chapters, or even a one off like my 4th of July one. Maybe I'd even do another season if something good came to me. Who knows? Either way, it won't be for a while. There's only so much I can write without it becoming repetitive. Shows have more than one writer, and this was too much to take on by myself. Yet, I only write originals with others, and even then I don't write with others often. I prefer to write alone.
I'm rambling. Thank you to all the polite, and kind reviewers. Even if you had a complaint, I still thank you if you were polite about it. If you weren't polite, well, sorry you didn't like it.
Thanks again to all of my wonderful readers. Maybe you'll see me around here again some time.
xoxo-Judy
