Soooo sorry this took so long to release! I've been really busy with work lately and haven't had time to write anything, but since it's my day off, I figured now was a perfect time to sit down and write Chapter 4!

So please enjoy!

"Umm, excuse me sir, this may sound like a strange question, but, do you happen to sell medicine for vampires?"

The man looked at Martha with a surprised expression. He wasn't expecting a question like that. His expression quickly changed and he began to speak.

"We do. In fact we sell a variety of products made for vampires. I use quite a few of them myself."

He made a small grin to show his fangs.

"I'm surprised to hear you ask about that though. You don't look like a vampire to me."

"Oh no, I'm not a vampire. You see, I run an orphanage over on the other side of Satellite, and one of the children there is a vampire. I was hoping to find some medicine that'd work for him. Seems I came to the right place."

The man smiled at her warmly, admiring her dedication to her children. He leaned on the counter slightly.

"So, what sort of medicine do you need for him, ma'am?"

Martha looked away, gathering her thoughts for a moment before speaking.

"Well, I'm honestly not sure if such a thing even exists, but I had to see if there was something I could do! You see, this child is very mature for his age. He understands what he is and how different he is from everyone else, and he's aware of what could happen if he's not careful. He told me he didn't want to hurt anyone, so he refuses to drink any blood. I know he means well, but it's just not healthy for him! He's gotten pretty sick; I suppose because his body isn't getting the nutrition it needs. Is there any sort of medicine that could maybe substitute blood so he wouldn't have to feed on others?"

Without a word, the man reached below the counter. He came back up and placed a small container filled with a thick, dark red liquid on the counter.

"How old is this boy, ma'am?"

"He's 9 years old, sir."

"Do you…know if he was born as a vampire?"

"He wasn't…when he was brought to the orphanage, he was very pale and weak, and also had two small holes in his neck. He was running a high fever, but within a day he was fine. But then he told me about his cravings for blood and I knew I had to do something for him."

"And how long ago was this?"

"This was only a few days ago."

"My, he must've been in such pain…To think that he turned that quickly, and so young as well…"

Martha looked at him with a determined face.

"Which is why I want to do anything possible to help him."

The man smiled at her as he redirected his focus back on the container he placed on the counter.

"This is a medicine made specifically for vampires that don't want to drink human blood. It's an interesting solution that tricks the body into thinking it's blood when it really isn't. It's manufactured to look like blood to have an added effect, because if it looks like blood, the body will believe it's blood. It's strange, but it works. The only downside is that in younger vampires, especially former-humans, it can only work for so long. I'm not sure how long he can take this before it no longer works on him. Just know that once that day comes, he'll have to start feeding, whether he wants to or not…"

Jack couldn't believe what he had just seen. His best friend, whom he'd known for several years, had suddenly become a vicious beast right before his eyes. A million thoughts were running through his head as Yusei tightened his grip on him.

"What did I just see?"

"Does anyone else know about this?"

"How long has he kept this from me?"

"Is this even the same person I once knew?"

"…Am I going to die?"

He began to feel faint as he listened to the sound of Yusei sucking the very life out of him. He'd lost too much blood. He struggled to get free, to get away from him, but to no avail. Yusei's grip was too tight. He tried to scream, but his strength had waned. Just as he was about to slip into unconsciousness, Martha walked through the door.

"Jack, how is Yusei doing? Has he woken up ye—YUSEI!"

She immediately ran over to the two boys and grabbed Yusei from behind, pulling him away from Jack. Yusei, still bloodthirsty, his mouth covered in blood, was struggling to get out of Martha's grasp. Jack, nearly drained of all of his energy, collapsed to the floor, panting and gasping for air. His neck and shirt collar were stained red with his blood.

"YUSEI! You've got to snap out of it! Jack is your friend, remember!? We're not going to hurt you, so just calm down!"

Yusei, his bloodlust wearing off at last, finally calmed down. His eyes returned to their normal ocean blue; his fangs became less prominent. He collapsed in Martha's arms, slowly returning to his senses. Martha placed him on the bed and ran to Jack's side. He was unconscious. She scooped him up and placed him on another bed, and began to treat his wounds. She hurried over to a cabinet and pulled out several large, clear sacks of blood. Quickly placing them on the counter, Martha flipped through her medical records to find Jack's file. Then she grabbed the one that matched his blood type and hooked it up. She then proceeded to give Jack a blood transfusion.

"Come on Jack…pull through…pull through!"

End Chapter 4.
