Where… am I? I remember saving Kyoya from Ryou!
Ryou had tricked me, but what became of him!?
I opened my eyes to see that I was in a hospital room and my friends were asleep in chairs. Haruhi was by my left side asleep, leaning on the hospital bed with someone's school uniform jacket draped around her back. I noticed that another chair was beside me but on my left and it was empty. I looked around. Everyone was here but Kyoya. I carefully got out of the bed. There was no pain in my stomach were Ryou had accidentally stabbed me. That was because it doesn't take long for a Yokai to heal, only about a day or two depending on the extent of the damage. I walked around the room quietly, avoiding waking anyone up as I walked over to the window and looked out of it. The sky was gray and filled with clouds while the ground was wet as if rain had fallen earlier.
"Yuko?" a familiar voice said with a surprised tone to it. That voice belonged to Kyoya.
I turned around and saw Kyoya with an expression I didn't expect to see. It was a mix of anger, sadness and worry all balled up into a case of mixed emotions.
"How is it you are awake and standing?" Kyoya asked with a bewildered tone.
I smirked. "I'm not human, Idiot. Yokai heal within a few days of acquiring their injury. However, the amount of days it takes depends on the extent of their injuries," I replied the smirk still remaining on my face.
"Don't look at me like that," Kyoya said. "Do you have any idea how worried we all were about you?" Kyoya's voice became cold, almost heartless, but it was because of his mixed up emotions that his voice had gained that tone.
"How long was I out?" I asked avoiding his eyes and his question.
"Two days. Damn it all, Yuko, answer me!" Kyoya growled in anger.
I looked up at him, his eyes glared at me not in pure hatred like I had expected. It was pure worry, and something else that I couldn't decipher.
"No… No, I don't know how or what any of you felt because no one but my Grandmother has ever felt worry for me and my health or just me in general. Everyone else only cared about what they thought was best for me," I said with tears stinging the corner of my eyes. I've never cried in front of anyone but my Grandmother.
She knew how what my grandfather and what my father did to make me who I am now. It was stressful for me back then, and almost every night she'd come to my room and stay with my while I cried until I fell asleep. If I had cried in front of my father, he would have smacked me across the face and told me to be stronger as the only heir to our clan… No emotional support what-so-ever.
"Yuko… You're-" Kyoya started but I cut him off.
"Crying? I know it's not a pretty sight or something that you'd ever want to see," I said roughly wiping away at the tears, but they just continued to run down my face.
"Yes, you're crying but that's… that's not what I was going to say at all," Kyoya said.
I heard his footsteps as he moved closer towards me. I felt warm arms wrap around me and pull me close to the warm form that was Kyoya. This… this isn't something that I would have expected from Kyoya the Shadow King at all.
"Why do you even care if I cry?" I asked through my tears.
"In all honesty, I'm not very sure myself. But all I know is that when I see those tears on your face it pains me. Maybe it is love? I know not, but all I know is that I care about you," Kyoya said, his voice soft and barely audible to normal human ears. But to me it was crystal clear what he had said.
I felt heat go to my cheeks. I was blushing again - all of these human males keep making me blush - I'm so not used to this at all. Back home this sort of thing would have gotten Kyoya killed unless, as I have said before, he was my husband or my child, with a small exception of family members. But the thought of Kyoya being m-my… It makes my face turn so red at the thought!
"K-Kyoya… You can let me go now," I said, my cheeks tingled and they were hot. So that probably meant my cheeks were as red as a tomato.
"Right," Kyoya said releasing me.
I wiped the last of the tears away and looked around noticing everyone was awake. Great, just great. The twins are going to tease me about this for sure now! I felt my entire face heat up and tingle this time.
"Yu-chan, you're awake!" Honey-sempai exclaimed, suddenly jumping into my arms and hugging me. I barely managed to catch him and stay standing.
"What about your injury? You shouldn't be able to stand!" Haruhi said and everyone else besides Kyoya and Honey-sempai nodded in agreement.
"Yokai heal within a matter of days after their injured but it depend on the extent of the damage. So that's why I was out for two days without waking up once," I explained.
Everyone but Kyoya nodded in understanding saying something along the lines of: "Oooooh"
I smiled at them and then looked at Kyoya.
"So, when do I get out of here?" I asked.
"Today," Kyoya replied, pushing his glasses up onto his face.
"Yay!" Honey-sempai and I cheered.
"But," Kyoya said with a dangerous look pointed at me.
"But what?" I asked, a bad feeling starting to grow in the pit of my stomach and beads of sweat slowly rolled down my face.
"You cannot leave my family's estate for two days so that people will think you are sick so that your secret will not be exposed," Kyoya finished darkly.
"Aw… c'mon, Kyoya. People won't have to know anything," I said.
"Everyone already knows that something happened to you. So, school will be like hell if you go tomorrow," Kyoya said. His glasses glinted evilly and a dark aura formed around him making him seem scarier that he actually was.
"F-Fine!" I replied quickly so that his scary as shiz aura would disappear. Kyoya's aura is to me the same thing as my grandpa's aura when he's angry at me, and let me tell you, that is some scary stuff.
"Hey, Kyoya, what happened to Ryou anyways?" I asked, remembering Ryou.
"He's being interrogated," Kyoya replied his aura and glassed went back to normal just as fast as they became scary.
"Good. I hope he's being held under tight security. That asshole follows me everywhere…" I said, mumbling the last part.
"Who is that Ryou guy to you anyways?" Hikaru asked. Kaoru and the others nodded in agreement.
"Oh, Ryou is the prince of the Shirohebi clan and we used to be engaged. He's supposedly madly in love with me and stalks me sometimes. Every time we lock him up somewhere he always gets free somehow and shows up the next month," I replied with a frown.
"So, that guy is your stalker?" Honey-sempai asked.
I nodded in reply.
"Takashi and I will protect you, Yu-chan! Right Takashi?" Honey-sempai looked at Mori-sempai who nodded with his usual stoic expression on his face.
Honey-sempai smiled at me cutely and I smiled back at him.
(Time skip Yuko POV)
Not long after that ordeal Kyoya checked me out of the Hospital. He told me it was one of the many that his family owned so the Doctors were sworn into secrecy about me being a Yokai much less a Tengu. And with that, the other's left and Kyoya's limo driver came and picked us up to take us back to the mansion. Funny thing how I am still wearing a hospital gown and it's almost fall. I sat as far away from Kyoya as possible huddled against the door shivering to make my own natural warmth. When it comes to that, I'm generally a human er- Yokai heater I should say.
"Yuko," Kyoya said my name and I looked at him.
"Come here," Kyoya said patting the spot next to him.
"I'm fine here," I replied and went back to making my own warmth.
Kyoya sighed and what came next was a surprise. He picked me up and set me in his lap. A blush crept its way up onto my cheeks and I stared at him nervously. He smirked at my reaction and said, "Don't worry. I don't plan on doing anything to you. You just looked cold is all"
"Good…" I thought, mentally sighing in relief.
"Let me see where you were stabbed," Kyoya said, making my head snap to his direction and I looked at him my face red and I shook it 'no'.
"It's alright. I just want to see, nothing more," Kyoya said, grabbing the hospital gown on me.
"Besides, I had my limo driver bring you some of my older sister Fuyumi's clothes from when she was younger. You can change into those. Then let me see," Kyoya added as he held out a small stack of clothes. I took them from him and I looked at him.
"Look away!" I said.
"Of course," Kyoya said covering his eyes and looking away.
I got off of him and quickly changed into the clothes he gave me, glancing every now and then to make sure he wasn't looking. Once I was finished, I sat back down onto the Limo's seat. "I'm done," I said.
Kyoya looked at me and gave me his fake smile, like he did to everyone.
"Do they fit alright?" Kyoya asked.
I nodded. The clothing consisted of a black spaghetti strap camisole with a maroon colored v neck t-shirt and dark blue jeans that were a bit baggy on me. Then, simple and worn black converse for my feet that were a size too big for me.
"Rika and Taka will be happy to see me when we get back," I said, smiling at the thought of seething those two crows again.
"I'm sure they will be happy to see you," Kyoya replied.
It wasn't long before the limo came to a stop and the door on Kyoya's side was opened.
"We have arrived, Young Master Ootori," the Limo driver said, bowing for a brief second, then moving to let us get out.
Kyoya got out and waited for me.
"Luckily I avoided showing Kyoya where I was stabbed…" I thought, mentally sighing in relief.
"So, Kyoya, your family knows about me right?" I asked.
"Yes and no," Kyoya replied.
"What do you mean by 'yes and no'?" I asked.
"They know you're staying with us, but they don't know about what you are," Kyoya explained.
"Ooh," I said.
"Also, my older sister may dress you up in whatever she wants because she's always wanted a little sister," Kyoya said with a smirk.
"I think I can live with that," I said sighing.
"Oh yes, and my father is probably going to be pretty hard to get along with when you meet him to night at dinner," Kyoya said.
"I can live with that as well. My father is the same way," I replied, chuckling a bit.
Once we were inside the gigantic mansion known as a mere piece of the Ootori estate, we were greeted by maids and butlers.
Well… Here goes nothing. I get to meet the father of the shadow king.
