"You do not remember me do you?" Souten asked looking down at her feet as we walked.

"Honestly? I don't remember you at all." It's not that I don't like her I just can't remember where I have seen her before.

"I suppose it's just as well after all I did try to kill you." She smiled. It was nice to see her smile even if it was creepy and she was thinking about killing me. The smile seemed familiar and then I remembered. That was almost twelve years ago, we were seven and she said she was going to keep in a cage and watch me die.

"YOU STOLE MY CRAYONS!" I yelled

"I DID NO SUCH THING! I WON YOUR CRAYONS IN A DUEL OR WAS THAT MEMORY JUST TO PAINFUL FOR YOU TO REMEMBER?" I had forgotten how much she loves to argue. Souten actually looks pretty nice when she gets angry. It is kind of funny to think of her like that.

"WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT?"

"You look funny Souten" I stifled a laugh towards her.

"WHAT?" Did I really just say she looks funny? Now instead of looking cute she just seems really mad.

"I AM A FULL FLEDGED DEMON! I AM NOT FUNNY LOOKING!" Isn't this the exact same conversation I had with Souten when we were seven? After that I decided it was best for me not to say anything for a while.

We have been walking for a couple of hours now so I suppose it is safe for me to start talking again.

"So, how did Koryu go missing?" Souten seemed a bit distraught so I gave her a few minutes to get herself together.

It took her a while to get herself together before she was willing to answer me.

"I am not really sure how it happened. I woke up one day and when I went to Koryu's room to wake him up he wasn't there."

"Okay we will start looking in your room and then we'll look in Koryu's room. Um Souten…" I said trying really hard not to upset her again. "Why did you believe that Koryu was in the village?"

"Humans are evil they must have taken him, so I went to the nearest human village to rescue him." So her home was close to the village.

"Speaking of your home shouldn't we be there by now? We have been walking for almost an hour now."

"Yes, we are almost there just a little while longer." Souten said making sure she stayed a few steps ahead of me as we were walking. I think it had something to do with her pride, I remember that she had a lot of that when she was younger.

Souten's house was a lot bigger than I remembered it being and the demonic aura seemed too have diminished. I suppose that is to be expected given that almost all the demons that lived there are now dead.

"So is this your room? It seems different without the cage in it." Souten let out a small laugh before remembering why I was there in the first place. She sat down on her bed and I followed her lead sitting down next to her. After a few minutes of sitting there in awkward silence Souten reached out and grabbed her pillow out from under me. As the pillow moved I noticed an unopened letter fall onto her bed and discretely grabbed it hoping she hadn't noticed.

"Good Night Shippo."

"Good Night Souten" I whispered ignoring the fact that it was only around lunch time. Once I was sure she was asleep I took out the letter and stared at it. The letter had Souten's name written on it in small barely legible writing. My fingers twitched for a moment wanting to open the letter. After debating it for a few moments I broke the seal opening the letter.

Souten,

I can't marry you. Your bossy, Stubborn, and I've found someone much better suited for me. Good luck finding anyone else who would be willing to marry someone as horrible as you.

Souten stirred in her sleep and her hair fell in front of her eyes. Reaching down I brushed her hair out of her eyes and started reading again.

Anyway I really don't care what happens to you after today. – Koryu

Almost unknowingly I started stroking her hair and within a few minutes I was fast asleep.

Souten was crying. It was Koryu's fault.

"Souten, are you okay? What happened to you? My anger for Koryu overwhelmed me and my hands shook as I wrapped my arms around her. She slapped my arms away and started screaming at me.

"GET AWAY FROM ME SHIPPO! YOU'RE THE REASON KORYU HATES ME!" I was too shocked to react. A moment later I started to speak when a giant letter fell from the sky and crushed me under it.

When I woke up Souten hadn't moved from her spot on the bed. My chest felt extremely tight realising how close together we were.

"You lied to me." Souten whispered in a sleepy voice I knew then that I must have woken her up.

"What?" I choked checking my pocket to make sure the letter was still there.

"You said good night to me and it was still only the afternoon." She smirked

"Oh, you hate liars do you?" She nodded her head to answer. The smirk faded from my face. Well then you're really going to hate me in a moment.

"Get up Souten. I got Koryu's scent last night, we need to move quickly or I might lose it." Sorry Souten I don't want to lie to you but I can't risk Koryu returning and breaking your heart.

"Really? I have to go get dressed then I will be right back." With that Souten ran out of the room.

Shippo she is going to hate you. I know but I can't risk her finding out about Koryu. Well smart guy where are you going to take her? What are you going to do when Koryu isn't there? I'm going to take her to the village and ask Kagome what I should do. What about Koryu you know Souten loves him. I bet they have even kissed. I'm sure Souten liked it you know you hate it. I could feel myself getting angry. They may have even done more than kissing.

"QUIET" I roared, my cheeks were burning I was so furious. I Shouldn't start talking to myself again nothing good ever comes from that.

A/N I Obviously don't own Inuyasha.
